Stand Up For The Special One!

What’s your guess on what the rival fans would be thinking about Jose’s sudden exit or Jose himself? Sure, we all know that he was one of the most hated figures for his sharp tongue and more so he backs it up with sucesses. I was browsing through the various blogs and websites of other clubs, like I always do. I was expecting an overdose of hyper-abuse towards Jose Mourinho as they no longer have to put up with him and he is not the most likable personality for a rival. To my surprise, a good lot of them, especially the good bloggers, had a lot of nice words and hidden praises/admirations for the ex-boss of Chelsea.

The blog I cover here includes Arseblog and Gunnerblog - the two of the best. Despite my hatred for arrogant Arsenal, I love reading their blogs. They have the maximum number of blogs for any English club and most of them are good read. Also I pick up something from RedRants and also from few other blogs. Also see some quotes from the big guys - Sir Alex and Arsene Wenger - on their feelings about Jose leaving Chelsea.

These are the guys who were ridiculing while he was on the job, as you’d do with any loud-mouthed rival manager. I’ll show you what our rivals feel about this whole episode and what it means to them and also about Chelsea’s future. You could really sense an air of relief in all these rival blogs. The common message I get is ‘they think it is a loss to football’, ‘they are relieved’, ‘they have one less rival for the title’.

There are no quotes from Liverpool blogs or from Rafa Round Benitez. That’s because they preferred to stay classless even now. They are happy to see the back of Jose and they are mightily relieved. They don’t want to give any credit to Jose even while he was leaving. Arsene just showed he was a bigger man to say what he said despite all his animosity with Jose. Even Jose himself has expressed his high regards for Arsene. Whereas Rafa, for all arrogance and cheapness, I’ll pray to God that Liverpool wins nothing this season, has their key players sit out for long periods and Rafa’s big nose getting cut by Gillette blades.

Here is Arseblogger, the one I really respect despite his constant use of foul language, talking about Jose Mourinho’s sacking:

Elsewhere the news of Mourinho’s departure from Chelsea came filtering through late last night. The ’special one’ deemed not so special anymore by Abramovich and co and it’s another indication of why life with an oligarch is not much fun. You win the league twice and you get in the s*** for not winning with exciting enough football. I suppose Mourinho will have his pick of jobs across Europe and while some will say the Premier League has lost a character others might suggest they’re happy to see the back of an egotistical, annoying, ill-mannered w***er who happens to be a very good football manager. No question Chelsea are worse off without him.

RedRanter is obviously happy as the ‘annoying mourinho leaves‘.

The Special One’s departure had to be made special. What else would you call it if you get £25m to leave something that has now become nothing short of a mad house. Chelsea seem to be in danger of collapsing into some sort of a Russian circus - if you will if Roman starts up with his musical chair of manager sacking. Because, such is the aura and standards under which Mourinho left the club, that the next manager has a hell of a job to do in order to survive.

Yes, we all agree Mourinho was a megalomaniacal, egotistical, motor-mouthed, annoying, moaning, sore-losing, funny-speaking twat of a person, but he was a good manager and has achieved plenty in a short period of time. He was also the best man for the Chelsea job by miles. We, and the rest of the Premiership, are certainly relieved that he has left. However it does worry me that we have to play Chelsea this weekend. There is a good chance that the players, most of whom clearly swore by him, might be kicked into a rousing performance. All that said, we will certainly miss his tantrums. Oh! The sight of a miffed Mourinho. Such fun it was!

Ahmed Bilal from Man Utd-supporting Soccerlens is always a Jose Mourinho admirer (if I may say so) and here is his bit:

. . . we have to stop and give credit where credit is due - Mourinho’s reign as Chelsea manager in the last 3 seasons is an overwhelming success. He turned Chelsea into a formidable side and in the process revolutionised the Premiership - his accomplishments deserve a separate article, so all I’ll say here is that despite his antics I’ll miss Mourinho if he leaves the Premiership.

The best was from Gilberto Silver of Gunnerblog, another one I really look up to. He says that only a spate of defensive injuries denied him a hattrick of titles:

Whatever your opinion of the man, it’s undoubtedly bad news for Chelsea. Mourinho’s skill was in moulding a team from a squad assembled in a short space of time at vast expense. He was able to form a unity and winning mentality that was second to none in the Premiership. Arguably it was only a spate of defensive injuries last year that denied him a third consecutive title. But now he is gone, and it seems that in the short-term at least he’ll be replaced by Avram Grant, who may have to face up to vilification from fans who could blame him for Mourinho’s departure. The likes of Drogba and Lampard could now see their future’s elsewhere. What’s certain is that the entire club has been destabilised by Mourinho’s shock exit. In my opinion, it is going to be incredibly difficult for Chelsea to meet their expectations for this season after losing their manager at such a critical time. For us, that can only be a good thing.

Here is Sir Alex, the best manager in English football (despite only winning as many champions league title as Jose) saying things like terrific, fantastic and unparalleled when he was talking about Jose’s exit. He know it as his heart was in his mouth all through the title race last season.

Jose leaving is a disappointment for the game. I think he was terrific for football and terrific for Chelsea. I enjoyed the competition with him. I think he was something fresh and new to our game. I just don’t know what I’m going to do with my wine now! I wish him well. I think he’s been good for the game. He’s been fantastic and had unparalleled success, without question. It’s a test for whoever replaces him.

Arsene Wenger, despite all his verbal battles with Jose, still feels that Jose’s exit is a bad news. He also talks about Jose being a quality manager and interestingly notes that it was Jose who made the Chelsea team winners.

It is basically sad because I feel Mourinho is a manager of quality. I am a great believer in technical stability and therefore I don’t think it is good news for football. We didn’t get on the best, but recently it has become better. That does not hide the fact I respected what he did and the quality of his work. Of course he is a great manager. He arrived when Chelsea were on the way up; they had a good side already and he did something more and made them winners. He deserves a lot of credit for that because it is never easy to win and in England it is maybe more difficult.

After the news of fans demonstrating outside Stamford Bridge and rumours of players leaving Chelsea, Jose left this message through Portuguese television:

I’m fine, in professional terms and in personal terms I’m fine. I’m happy to have left and I’m happy with what I achieved at Chelsea not only with the results but with the mark I made. I don’t want the supporters to chant my name if they get a bad result in the future. I don’t want players to threaten to leave because I have left. I don’t want demonstrations of any sort.

For our own micro minority of Chelsea fans who were ungrateful to his achievements with us and doubting his ability to take us forward, here is your conclusive proof of what the rivals think of us - the bloggers of the rival clubs and their manager themselves. This would be the last of the posts that were written with the sole purpose of paying tribute to the tactical genius. From now on, we move on. Big match tomorrow and the usual pre-match stuff and a profile of the new man coming up.

Mourinho is always boss , he is not EX-boss. I really expect Chelsea fans who have chance to go to stadium on sunday , Call Jose MOurinho proudly, he did a lot for chelsea. he had a significant effect on chelsea.
I have watched chelsea with 4 managers, Gullit , Vialli , Ranieri and Jose , and I can tell you they way chelsea played with him was absoloutly fantastic, unbelievable. uncomparable with predecessors.
He really loved chelsea, you can realize this from his last interview.

guys give some respect to new guy, u have rejected him without giving him a chance, thats not reasonable and democratic in any way…stop moaning about the past(thats what most of you ranted after Robben’s departure)….Mourinho’s departure may bring in new era for Chelsea….wait, watch and then give out your judgment….

manishchandra :
wish respect to your idea, If you watched Grant interview , you would realize why I said so , he is not a professional man , he is just a puppet right now.
he has no plan , he has never coached a big team , no one talks about his knowledge, everyone says he is a good person, being a good person is not equal to being a good coach , if it was so , Jesus was the best coach :) .
i have no doubt he won’t be successful and he won’t be chelsea manager for a long time, as i said if chelsea won Manchester 1000 -0 I still believe he is not a good choice for chelsea.
if we don’t need Jose , Ok , bering someone better than him , at least bring someone in his level , someone who bring something new to Stamford bridge. I wonder if Grant knows how to train a team.
but let me tell you something, as long as Roman wants to interfere with manger tasks, no big manager will come to Chelsea , do you think Capello or Lippi allow Roman to choose player for them , NOT AT ALL, Roman needs managers like Grant
, I think Roman will help Grant to prepare Line up.

Hey the new guy grant ( I’ll always write it in small letters ) is taking a day off before the game and on top of it he DOESNT have a coaching license .What the F%$%@$$%@#%&$*#@$ K is going on ?

We lose a great man and substitute him with a guy who is not even eligible to coach the third division cos all he has is a piece of flimsy paper typed hundreds of years ago .

Hey guys read the story I wrote in the last post’s thread !

Sep 22, 2007 @ 12:28

And also let’s wait to see what grant does, once the egos of super-paid guys collide in the dressing room ,on the training ground and when they’re injured or left out of the first team.Or when they’re 2 down to Liverpool at half-time
Then :
We shall see if he’s got the right stuff !

I thought Chelsea would turn into a circus with revolving doors /dance of the coaches / players stuff
You know Scolari , Lippi Deschamps etc etc etc etc

You know real drama in the wake of JM’s departure

Now it’s the worst scenario possible it’s a pale-faced clown who doesn’t even have a B card to coach. God a third-rate B actor without even a union card !

But I am still a Chelsea fan !

( but also a JM fan and will follow his career , and hope he doesn’t replace old red face at ManU when the old geezer retires )

Guys

Let’s give Avram a chance. While we have no substantial proof from his past, we’ll never know about his future. Let’s see how he performs. Let’s not repeat the mistake of not supporting our manager in an unjustified manner. Blogs influence the media too. See what happened with the rumour on Arsenal signing Palacio.

When the newspapers and news websites say that ‘fans’ are right behind the coach or ‘fans’ want to oust the coach, the ‘fans’ that they are referring to, are the ones in the stadiums, the ones in the blogs and websites, they are you and me.

Let’s not start with a bad note. Let’s see what Avram can do. Roman would not allow his dream to go waste by a poor manager. While we can like or dislike his choice, we should respect his choice for he is the owner and he is the prime reason for our revival and he is a smart businessman.

I can say on behalf of the red half of manchester…..that we are glad that jose has left.i hated the man, hated his arrogance, his stupid one sided comments, his astonishing excuses.and just the way he made chelsea fc play….my god!how he rose the bar in english football!chelsea never played the prettiest football with jose…..but what he did do was instill a horrifying winning mentality(that was what bothered us opposition fans the most).bout the new boss avrham or whatever?looks like a dam puppet to me.to replace the charismatic and full of life jose mourinho with this boring avrham guy??anywayz i wont judge this terriblely looking book by its cover.but my bet is that hell last till the end of the season and hiddink, lippi, scolari or if the season goes terribly bad….jose mourinho might return!!see u lads tomorrow!!!!come on u reds devils!!!

Again I post the fable by popular acclaim :

Once upon a time a road-side dealer in blackmarket diesel struck it rich working with corrupt officials.
So he bought a Ferrari ,the best money could buy.
To look after it he got the best driver-cum mechanic around to tune it up and race it for him.
The driver-mechanic did so , but looking at the state of the roads and such, got the Ferrari going up only to a respectable 150mph.
But the blackmarket dealer wanted it to go up to 200mph with the roof off.
So they started to squabble about the car’s performance etc…

When the car started needing spare parts for repairs ,the owner bought over-priced second-hand stuff and told the driver-mechanic to use the stuff.

The mechanic did the best he could but one day the car was sputtering a bit so the former blackmarket dealer got angry.
And he sacked the mechanic.

Now he’s got his buddy from olden days, the bicycle flat-tire repair man to look after it.

To be continued………..

To be honest……………………i m in a shocked state……….disilluisioned and not in a right condition to think whether avram grant is suitable or not.
@Blue Champion
this was a similar trend in orkut…………..arsenal,man utd, liverpool fans were claiming how unjustified was our sugar daddy in ripping off the special one from cfc………….how grt he was as a manager……….and man utd fans who took no pains in abusing the arrogant man, have found suddenly jose as the best man who who can suceed SAF…………..irony isn’t it

im Truely Devastated at “the special ones’s” exit im going to watch the chelsea game at old trafford on sunday and im really worried the fellow travelling chelsea fans wont be as vocal as i will be!

i have already got my banner ready, it Reads “AVRAM OUT, with love the EPL” does any1 think thats appropriate???
i have chosen this as i think the way in which he wormed his way into the club was disgusting! he was always sat on jose’s shoulder (metaphorically) and even when he was first mentioned i did not want him here, no proven record and “success” with the issralie national team….so what??? when did they last win the world cup??? OR EVEN QUALIFY!!!!!
im disgusted that fat **************** (disgusting expletive) has joined our club, i hope he leaves as soon as possible!!!! id ather have alex ferguson managing us than him!!!!!

SAF was class in his words and so was Wenger. As for Benitez, I didnt expect anything from him and we got nothing!!!

SAF was brilliant when he complained of not getting his special glass of wine from Jose!!! - Classic.

he may work on spain or italy……………

one thing is sure, from his qoute that “i am very very happy”,= he is not happy

JOSE dont go from epl…

my wish is to either you come back to CHELSEA(tats not gonna happen frm this kind of guy)…. or take in charge of any low profile club and make them win the EPL. you can do it.

Avram , why did you take such a thankless job ?
Doesn’t matter if your wife thinks you are special or not, just don’t put the old girl in too much grief OK , quit like Jose when it gets too untenable.

And also you say you are a ” normal one ” but I think you are a ” greedy one ”
Well remember I am ” a crazy one ” and you are gonna have to read my comments here whether you like or not.

And also Roman, big boy , you have given me grief and pain, not even thinking about us fans you did this.

Well I hope that you have to spend 200 million pounds a year, just to keep the club afloat and spend half your fortune on it in the long run and your younger kid reaches 16 soon and calls you a crazy old man for doing so !

I won’t be buying any of the club trinkets that PK tries to sell me either !

Too much has happened to a club that I love in the past few days.Roman Don’t play with the feelings of others like that again. We’re not like ur ex-wife to dissappear whimpering .

Although sudden exit, i beleive JM has left us with a winning mentality both as a team and fans. We surely have to move ahead as things were not working for him, and to be frank i’d rather lose JM than RA. with RA we may not have been able to afford JM let alone get out of the insolvency we almost entered under ken bates.

We surely don’t know AG but he has inherited a good squad and he seems to like attacking football more. Any coach that comes afterwards will always be compared to JM.

lets leave JM to the past and move on. enter AG and lets see your worth.

To All Manchester fans :
SOme of you said chelsea did nothing without Roman , I wonder if you guys are enought old ot know or have enough knolwdge to know, we beat manchester 5-2 , without Roman .
@ Blue Champion : you said we don’t know anythnig from history and we don’t know anythnig from the future , dude , so why did we choose Grant ? Roman himself could manage chelsea, we don’t know anythnig from Roman’s history and future , or how about me ?.
it is funny , becaseu we don’t know anythnnig from him we have to give him chance :) . Grant is the worst cooach among Gullit,Vialli,Raneir and Jose.

Liverpool 0-0 Birmnigham , so Benitez should be sacked ? who spent a lot on buying strikers? no of course not ,just a stupid person like ROman does so , but anyway, I am just counting days to see Roman’s departure, because everyone knows chelsea as an unstable club, and they don’t dare to come to chelsea.

Maysam , I am still trying to rationalise the whole thing. its not losing Jose. its not taking care to replace like for like. its the thoughtlessness, the cronyism, the asskissing from the board members (esp Buck and Kenyon). Maybe the criteria is that the coachmust be Israeli…no offence meant but how does other anything add up? The bugger does not even have a coaching license…………….disgraceful…and that is a club aiming to be eno.1 in the world. we will win feck all….

just how attacking were AV teams from his little past. His teams drew more games than were won (national team). how does that add up to an attack minded coach. i think that Roman needs to surround himself with his yes men and cronies and this is just the start.

Avram Grant CV

These include his time in charge of the Israeli national side, where he only lost six out of 33 games, and a World Cup 2006 qualification group stage where Israel finished unbeaten, narrowly missing out on qualification, which went to Switzerland and France. (more draws than wins).

‘I know that unfortunately I don’t have any experience of the English league,’ he admitted.

‘But I have visited the training of the big coaches in England more than five, six times a year, they are my friends, so nothing can surprise me and I will try to do my best. ( ooh dear, what a genius. that makes me a good coach too. I have been to some training sessions too and played football as well).’The last qualification for Israel, we were in a group with France and we scored more goals than them.

‘In my years of football in the Israeli league I was always first or second in top scoring for goals.’

Grant also silenced critics who questioned his experience by comparing his arrival to that of other great coaches around the world.

‘I don’t know if people cannot expect me to be successful. But remember when Wenger came to Arsenal, everybody said Arsène who? ( he dares compare himself. Arsene was not a nobody when he came to Arsenal).

‘In my years of football in the Israeli league ( th very best league in the world that is…if you cann remember where it is) I was always first or second in top scoring for goals.’

Blame not Avramovich the lapdog- rather blame Abramovich the man who can not see beyond the tip of his football nose.

I said and i will repeat it- he deliberately refused to get us any reinforcement last January because he wanted to sabotage jose and use it as a reason to get the fans’ love away from Mour but it did not work. The more he frustrated Jose the more we the fans love him.

will someone tell roman that there are things that money cannot buy. He may be a shrewd businessman but for me when it comes to football he is just a spoilt brat who will rather destroy all he has built because he cannot have his way.

Thank you Roman for all you have done but I will rather have an owner who does not toy with us on the basis of whims and caprices.

Am sure he never expected the massive support Jose has received even in the Press.

Its crazy enough getting Jose out but really its unspeakable to replace him with a nobody like Avramovich. The guy is not chelsea standard and i mean Pre- Roman Chelsea. Ranieri, Vialli and Gullit are streets ahead of him.

Even if we do well this season, it will only be down to the boys killing themselves for the sake of their own image not because of this Roman lapdog.

Avram who???????????

said Grant at his first press conference in his new role. “I have my own philosophy but I respect everything that Jose Mourinho has achieved for this club. He made a lot of success and things were good but I believe I can make them better.”

—- Better than what , better than the best .

questioned the Israeli’s suitability for his new job. How, one asked, can a coach who has not managed a side in a major European league or international tournament adequately replace a manager who twice won the Premier League? More pertinently, can a man who has coached a team in only six Champions League games return two European Cups in six seasons - the requirement that Peter Kenyon, the Chelsea chief executive, confirmed the club expect? ”Maybe yes, maybe no,” replied Grant with a shrug, a purse of the lips and not a flicker of emotion from his hangdog eyes. “I have been in football for 20 years and coached at many levels I think I have enough experience.”

— I know many people in my country who have been in football more than 30 years, they are very cheap they probably were good choices. just take a look at Kenyon asnwere , “Maybe Yes, Maybe No” , they fired Mourinho based on possibilities, Maybe chelsea get better maybe not. well that’s roman’s money but nothing is endless.

BC was talking about his history in Isreail international team ,
take a look at these statistics, these are remarkable ?

Israel 2002-2005 game:33 Win: 14 Lose:6 Draw:13
he won less than 45% of games,

mourinho
Chelsea game:120 win:85 draw:25 lose:10

by the way , EPL is much tougher than Euro games, specially in Isreail group .

Thanks to friends he becomes a coach , not becasue of his quality.

* After a promising career as a young coach with his home club Hapoel Petah Tikva in the 1970s and early ’80s, Grant was earmarked for bigger things with Israel’s major clubs. He coached Maccabi Tel Aviv twice (1991-95 and 1997-2000) - (Reuters) - Factbox on Avram Grant of Israel who took charge of Chelsea’s first team alongside Steve Clarke after Jose Mourinho left the English Premier League club by mutual consent on Thursday.

Born: May 6 1955, in Petah Tikva, Israel

* After a promising career as a young coach with his home club Hapoel Petah Tikva in the 1970s and early ’80s, Grant was earmarked for bigger things with Israel’s major clubs. He coached Maccabi Tel Aviv twice (1991-95 and 1997-2000) and Maccabi Haifa (2000-2002) with whom he won league and cup titles.

* Appointed Israel’s national team coach in May 2002 after the resignation of Dane Richard Moeller Nielsen, a position he held until his departure in 2006. Following a disappointing Euro 2004, Israel just missed a playoff spot for the 2006 World Cup finals, finishing unbeaten in a group behind France and Switzerland.

* Befriended Roman Abramovich during meetings in Tel Aviv in the spring of 2006 when he was expected to take up the role of coach of Hapoel Tel Aviv, which was designated to become a feeder club for Chelsea. The deal by Abramovich’s friend Levi Leviev to buy Hapoel fell through, however, and Grant moved to England.

* Appointed technical director of Portsmouth in July 2006, the club partly owned by Alexandre Gaydamak, the son of Russian-born billionaire Arkady Gaydamak, the high-profile owner of Israeli league champions Beitar Jerusalem.

* Left Portsmouth to take up the position of director of football at Chelsea, where he became reportedly the closest confidant on football matters with Abramovich.

* Took charge of Chelsea’s first team alongside Steve Clarke, replacing Jose Mourinho.

I read a good article about chelsea possibilities, which one do you think be done in chelsea?

2–
Roman would appoint young well-known coaches - Deschamps, Matthaus, Koeman - and expect them to work with more experienced advisers and accept that he was in overall control. Given the lack of control over playing style and personnel they would last a season, maybe two and bring domestic success but fail to secure the Champions League.

1–
Roman would bring in a Chelsea legend - Zola perhaps, or Desailly - and promise attacking, expansive and successful football. Unable to produce consistency under such pressure the legend lasts two seasons before Abramovich brings in a vastly experienced taskmaster - such as Marcello Lippi. He steadies the ship but the fans are turned off by the football and so he is sacked - and the cycle starts again.

3–
Roman would take advice and seek out the best coach for his club (rather than the best coach per se), give him the financial backing to put his own team together and back his decisions even if they didn’t lead to immediate success.

screw you disgusting chelsea fans 1000000000000000000000-2

will be the score tomorow

back to reality, mourinho was a great manager, the best chelsea has had in years, though i really hate his style of play, 70% of the time it works, im going to miss his wacky pre match interviews.

real prediction:
2-0 OR 2-1 to united OR 3-2 to chelsea.
