Chelsea 1-1 Bolton | All Over But Chin Up!

Man Utd are the champions and deservedly so. Chelsea lost the title rather honourably. I’m happy and proud that we put up a strong title challenge that made Man Utd wait until the last 10 minutes of the last day to confirm their title. I was hoping that we end up on level points but [...]

D-day. The best we can do is to notch a win through a goal from open play, free kick, dodgy penalty, offside finish, own goal, whatever. In the process of getting this all important win, let’s keep hoping and praying that Wigan can pull off a point.

Newcastle 0-2 Chelsea | Just 90 mins to go!

Premier league is generally known as the marathon, for the consistency and endurance that separates the Champions and the rest. Seldom would you see such close runners in a marathon. The finish to the premier league this season would rather resemble the 100 metre dash than a marathon.

This match at St.James Park is as significant as the first leg of the semi final against Liverpool. Man Utd has already shown that they are up for the challenge with a 4-1 result. I know Man Utd has the goal difference advantage but if we are level points by Monday night, anything could happen [...]

My heart is still beating after the most important game of Barclay’s English Premier League season. We did it, we really did it. What a brilliant performance by the Chelsea Football Club. Words don’t really suffice for the performance of this club today. It’s hard to think that this is the same team who played [...]

The explorer Howard Carter stood looking through a keyhole of his discovery into King Tutankhamen’s tomb while someone asked, “What do you see?” he responded quotably, “Wonderful things!” It’s finally here. After two seasons, it’s finally come to reality and it really is wonderful. Chelsea vs. Manchester United, at Stamford Bridge, for the title [...]

Everton 0-1 Chelsea | Grant’s Gone Crazy!

We had the fortune though we weren’t too brave. Essien took full advantage of a lucky rebound and scored his second goal in two matches. We managed to hold on to the lead after surviving a nervous second half. It was a very poor performance but a good result.

Let’s beat Everton. Let’s see Man Utd getting beaten by Rovers. Let’s beat Man Utd at SB. Job done. As a first step, let’s beat Everton at Goodison park. I expect Grant to choose a media-friendly full strength team to show that he still believes that the title can be won. Well, we can still [...]

Chelsea 1-1 Wigan | Why Can’t We Hold On To A Lead?

Gutted. 30 seconds to go and we concede an equaliser. Cahill’s goal comes to mind. We have not learnt from that yet. Almost the same mistake. Once again the concentration levels dropped at the end. We gifted a goal to Wigan as we failed to put pressure on the opposition in the dying moments. Well, [...]

Yeah, you saw it right. It's a Monday evening kick-off. The most crucial period for Avram Grant starts from this match. We have Everton away on Thursday and then Liverpool, Man Utd and Liverpool to follow. We have a full squad except the keepers so I believe we can play a not so first choice players against Wigan.

Man City 0-2 Chelsea | Still In The Hunt . . .

We still stay in the title hunt. Once again an own goal set Chelsea up for a win. What appeared once as one of those matches where we would take a lead and be outplayed for a draw or defeat, ended up as an important win. I had a wish list in the match preview [...]

Not enough time for a full preview. After the disappointment at Turkey, I expect a reaction from Chelsea. The 6-0 annihilation is a distant memory now. Man City themselves are not in the best of form. They’ve just been beaten 3-1 by Birmingham. Good enough to feel cheerful. I should feel confident but looking [...]
