Mata and Hazard are arguably Chelsea’s two current best players at the moment, Mata has been immense with his first two seasons with Chelsea, with his first he won the Champions League and FA Cup and he had a huge influence upon winning both the competitions, he is Chelsea’s primary playmaker and performs consistently and rarely has a bad game, he has become a huge star at Chelsea and is arguably the best attacking midfielder at the moment in the Premier League, he has become an instant hit in the Premier League. Hazard is a new recruit with the Chelsea team after joining the club in the 2012 Summer Transfer Window, he looked a real prospect with his performances at Lille, he has many offers on his plate from the top teams in the Premier League and he joined ‘Champions League winner’ Chelsea, recently Hazard has been a man in form in the Premier League, he seems to be improving as the games go on, when he served his 3 match-ban after a controversial situation between a Swansea ball boy, he scored upon his return against Wigan, it was great seeing him back in the Chelsea side.

Are Chelsea becoming reliant on both these superstars? Chelsea would most likely struggle without these playmakers on the field, when Chelsea have been without Mata on the field, they sometimes have looked lost, he is the one that pulls all the strings within the Chelsea side, he is a true ‘number 10’ but Chelsea are starting to become reliant on him to pull all the strings and it confuses me why, is this down to Benitez’s tactics? When Chelsea was without Hazard in all their three matches they was really lacking a real winger in the side, Bertrand didn’t fit the bill and seemed to really struggle playing in such a role, a brilliant LB but not so good attacking midfielder, Hazard is another one of those players that Chelsea really struggle without, Chelsea didn’t win one of the three games Hazard was banned in, is this a coincidence or is a proof that Chelsea are starting to become reliant on Hazard as well, also since he has returned to the side we have won two out of two games. Starting off with stats from Spaniard, Juan Mata, below is stats courtesy of ‘WhoScored’.

ChelseaThese stats from Juan Mata are truly amazing from Mata and exactly proves why Chelsea may be becoming reliant on him, he has played some sort of role with a goal in at least 20 odd of his appearances, whether it be scoring a goal or setting up a goal, these stats are worrying but also on the up-side it proves to why he is probably the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League, one question I ask myself is IF one day he besides to move on from Chelsea, how will Chelsea cope without him, finding a player like him is very difficult and there is very little around that match his talent.

I hope it never comes down to this as I really like him as a person and a player, at the moment I see no reason for him to leave Chelsea or in the foreseeable future, he currently has a contract until the 2015/16 season and Chelsea need to tie him down for a further few years for sure, he has already shown his love for Chelsea and has suggested one day he wants to become a club legend and captain the club, but when someone such as Barcelona or Madrid come in for him, would this turn his head? I really hope not, if Chelsea build around him and become less-reliant on him he will become a club legend for sure because for me he is a player you could possibly build your club around hence the buyings of Oscar and Hazard, these have already shown the immense link-up play between them, they have already proved the public their potential and have already earned the nickname ‘The 3 maestro’s’. Next up here are stats from the Belgium international, Eden Hazard.

Chelsea 2Eden Hazard’s stats may not be as impressive but he has played fewer games and for me I think these stats honestly don’t reflect on the quality he has shown this season, all together he has 14 assists and goals in 22 appearances and two coming on as sub, his pass completion is quite impressive, Hazard is more of a winger, this is where his true dribbling ability is put to test, he has given Chelsea a few penalty’s earlier in the year due to his quick feet and his quality dribbling ability, he has become another player Chelsea are reliant on at times, he adds masses of quality at times to the squad and passes the ball brilliantly and likes to play that killer ball from time to time, much like Mata.

Above is why Chelsea are becoming awfully reliant on Mata and Hazard, so in summer it would be ideal if they built around these sorts of players, a new striker would be much needed, someone as the likes of Neymar, Cavani or Falcao would fit into the squad perfectly as they would find it hard to not score masses of goals because of the quality behind them, also a quality, deep-lying playmaker would be good as well, Luiz can fit into this role but due to the fact he was bought as a centre-back it is highly unlikely that he will play in this role permanently, building around these sorts of players would be the right way forward for the team and we will challenge for many trophies in the future.

Considering we get rid of Benitez in the summer, a possible return for Mourinho is one the cards unless he performs a miracle in the La Liga, he has already expressed his return to England. Will the special one return home? Also Moyes has been regularly linked with the Chelsea job, who will take over from Benitez? Only time will tell… KTBFFH Chelsea fans, next year will be the year we bring the Premier League back home!
