The Press and Chelsea

Why always Chelsea? Some of us Chelsea supporters ask, for the past few days every time I look at a newspaper or  Sky Sports News, there is always a “false” Chelsea story.

Yesterday it was Fernando Torres the 50 million man is going to be up for sale in either the January transfer window or the Summer transfer window, it was reported that Chelsea would listen to offers around the region of 20 million of course this was false and later that day Andre Villas-Boas denied this and the press moved onto another “false” story, why always Chelsea?

When I picked up the newspaper today, guess what? The headline read “Furious” Drogba to leave Chelsea next month and Lampard is set to follow him, funny eh? Drogba stated a few weeks ago that he will be loyal to his contract and not leave in January. This is a quote from The Sun newspaper: “The Ivory Coast international has been offered a two-year deal by Chinese club Dalian Aerbin worth £200,000 per week while Chelsea are only prepared to give him 12 months at £125,000 a week” Really? The press is once again attacking Chelsea, why always Chelsea? I very doubt this story is true and it is just the press making another “false” story, Andre Villas-Boas will deny that Drogba is “Furious” and the press will just make another “false” story, am I right? It is now just becoming predictable this has been going on for a few weeks now…

Last week once again I picked up The Sun newspaper and the headline read “Chelsea training bust-up” well something across them lines, immidately I knew it would be The Sun writing another false story, it was reported that an insider said  ”It was unbelievable. The manager would look at a player, tear him to shreds, then move on to the next one. ”For example, he turned to Didier Drogba and told him, ‘You’re a fraction of the player you were last season’. ”Then he turned to the next player and laid into him.”Everyone was stunned, they’d never seen him like this and had never been treated like this before.”But AVB saved his bombshell moment for 32-year-old striker Anelka, and 29-year-old central defender .  Our insider continued: “The manager told Anelka he wasn’t welcome anywhere. ”He was banned from training with the first team, banned from using the training facilities if the first-team squad were using them — and told he would be training with the reserves from now on. ”Then AVB turned to Alex and said ‘And the same applies to you’, and of course Andre Villas-Boas denied this a few days later, another false story, why always Chelsea?

I could go on forever and forever about false story’s regarding Chelsea, rarely I pick up The Sun newspaper and see that they have complimented Chelsea, well I should say hardly never even after the win against Manchester City they claimed that Ashley Cole “taunted” Manchester City and of course it was denied later that day, I now find it hard to believe that the press report an actual true story about Chelsea or even see The Sun compliment Chelsea, I very doubt this will happen and I will be totally shocked if any two of these happen. Andre Villas-Boas has now began having a go at  the press, I guess this makes them want to write more “false” story’s and wind up Andre Villas-Boas even more, I will say this one more time. Why always Chelsea?

The press can continue to write false story’s about Chelsea they’re just making idiots out of themselves when Andre Villas-Boas deny’s these story’s over and over again.

I hope you all enjoyed this more than any other of my posts and if you did or didn’t please drop a comment below, be honest and tell me what you thought of this, is it better or worse than previous posts?

Wigan v Chelsea | 17-Dec-11 @ 17:30 UK

Sorry about not doing a daily article was busy with other stuff , anyway enjoy!

Chelsea travel to JJB Stadium, Wigan on Saturday 17th December, it is a must win situation if they want to remain 3rd, all the supporters are hoping the form from the Manchester City match and previous matches carry’s on if it does so I’m almost certain of a win.

After a win on Monday night against unbeaten Manchester City (only in premier league), they were back into the title race and back to winning ways, Chelsea played a high line for about 10-15 minutes and conceded in the first 2 minutes but they did play a little bit deeper as the game come along – this worked and they didn’t concede one again.  The game against Manchester City was a action packed game – Manchester City claimed they should of had a penalty but clearly David Silva dived. Chelsea’s Lampard scored from the penalty spot to win Chelsea the game and keep them in the title race

Predicted Chelsea Line-Up: (433) Cech, Cole, Terry, Luiz, Ivanovic, Romeu, Ramires, Meireles, Mata, Torres, Sturridge.

David Luiz returns from his one match ban and is likely to start, Ivanovic can now move back to a position he is more familiar in which is RB. Andre Villas-Boas has hinted Torres may start against Wigan after being on the bench for the past few games, but he may not want to change a winning team we’ll just have to wait and see. Lampard is also set to be benched again despite scoring the winning goal on Monday night.

A win is vital in a game like this, the title race is 100% back on and Chelsea cannot afford to drop any more points at a time like this, the title race is tight a loss would put Chelsea back to square one, come on Chelsea get a win!

Chelsea v Man City | 13-Dec-11 @ 20:00 UK

Hello all my name is Callum. I’ve been a Chelsea supporter for a good few years now and have never looked back. I’ve been reading this blog for a while now and I doubt none of you know who I am as I’m new writing for this blog, I’m going to be helping out here on this blog, daily articles unless I’m busy myself and I hope you all enjoy what I write and I hope you appreciate it, feel free to follow and chat to me on twitter @Chelsea_Callum and enjoy my first article for this blog.

Chelsea are looking to advance with their good form against Manchester City who are currently unbeaten in the Premier League, will be a tough game for both teams, a game which is defiantly highly anticipated from both supporters.

When Chelsea played against Valencia some of us described it including myself to the “Old Chelsea” the defending was superb despite Valencia having most of the ball, Chelsea counter attacked them and Valencia simply couldn’t stop us, lets hope we can carry this on to the big game on Monday night against Manchester City

Predicted Chelsea Line-up: (433) Cech, Cole, Terry, Ivanovic, Boswinga, Romeu, Ramires, Meireles, Mata, Drogba, Sturridge.

David Luiz unfortunately has to sit out this game after reaching five yellow cards(1 match ban), Boswinga is looking to take his place and Ivanovic will be moving along to CB and Boswinga will likely play RB but Alex would be a better option then Ivanovic can stay at RB a postion he is more comfortable at. Other than that no changes are really needed and Lampard looks set to be benched again he will soon be familiar with not playing week after week.

A win or draw is what Chelsea need to look at, a loss isn’t a option otherwise Chelsea will no longer really be regarded as title contenders,  Manchester City are 10 points above Chelsea, a win would put them 13 points ahead and that would be really tough for Chelsea to catch them. If Chelsea win they will be 7 points behind them – looking to close the gap.

Above is an image of match facts, predictions and probablity of the full-time score regarding the Chelsea v Manchester City game, all credit to kickoff for this image.
Last time Chelsea played Manchester City, they won 2-0 Ramires and David Luiz being the scorers, Manchester City have not impressed at the Stamford Bridge, with only two wins in 14 Premier League visits.
Players to watch: Mata, Ramires, Sturridge and Drogba are the players to watch for Chelsea meanwhile Silva and Aguero are the players
to watch for Manchester City. Ramires has been in superb form for Chelsea recently, Ramires is highly underated by some people but really he is a superb player with many bright years ahead of him, the same with Mata and Sturridge but these aren’t exactly underrated. Drogba will last another 2 years at Chelsea if he reconsiders the contract offer. Aguero is a great player the same with Silva, Aguero could have came to Chelsea but Manchester City lured him with money I really hope Chelsea show him why he should have not followed the money and come to the better club – Champions League football. Silva has the most assists in the Premier League Mata respectively behind him.
Prediction: I am going for a 1-1 draw, this will be a extremly close match and it is hard to seperate the two teams, if Chelsea manage to play like they did against Valencia I’m sure they could pull off a win and finally stop Manchester City’s unbeaten run in the Premier League this season. There may still be a upset in the changing room of Manchester City after failing to qualify to the final 16 of the Champions League even though they beat Bayern Munich 2-0, it was too late.
