Kudos to Sunderland and Cech!
Let me start on a good note because I have lesser of it and please be ready, the floodgates of blames and personal attacks are on its way.
Cech is the only good thing of the night, and it is to his credit that we lost it at 0:3, it could easily have been 0:7/8! Kudos to Cech, you are simply the best! One more thing good is that Mikel is passing well.
Now the worst part is on its way and if you are not ready for rowdy langugae and raw emotion, please don’t read further!
To start with it is the ‘face-only-your-mom-will-love’ Ramires! He is awfully awful and a disgusting sight! He can never keep a ball or pass it, but we are not new to this. He loses balls and then concedes freekicks with his risky tackles. Even when he is alone to receive the ball, he chooses to head it out of play. I am just so disgusted with this wanker. Reminds me of a certain deco. Was even wondering if it is deco with too much tan and weight loss! We have seen him doing it week in week out, and I am amazed by his consistency in being so uselessly pathetic! Only thing he can do is run, run like a headless chicken. He deserved to play only the first 20 minutes, but I really don’t know what Carlo found in him that he got 70 minutes. He was taken off only after the damage was done!
Zhirkov was okay, just okay but things would really have been different had he converted that easy chance. He created well but failed to make it count. He could easily have hit the target or square it for Drogba who was really free.
And then Drogba had his quieter day. His freekicks were bad and his corners awry. I am sure the heavy weight of that priceless armband took all his concentration. He was more concerned being a captain than playing his football. Now he will know what Terry had been doing and doing it brilliantly.
Nico tried his best, but when most of your team mates are not willing to help, the laziness can easily get hold of you. He wasn’t better than his sun-attacked baldness!
Malouda too tried his best but more often his decisions were wrong. One fine example is that he copuld have easily pulled back for Ramires and Nico instead of trying to find Drogba amongst 3 red and white stripped shirts. And then he didn’t do us anything good when he walked off the ground. This guy seems to think that he is bigger than the club/team.
Ashley did well and yes I am considering even his lovely assist!
Ivanovic gave all he can but with a headless partner in the centre, the burden to keep the Sunderland’s attack away fell havier on him and he succumbed to it! He was lucky to be on the pitch but Chri Foy might have remembered Turner’s foul on him. Fair play!
Ferreira had been so modest and quiet and never-complaining. But if one’s performance is of this type then there is nothing really to complain about. Yes, he played in an unfamiliar centreback position but he cannot really be this bad. We are playing at home and it is Sunderland, not 11 Messis! The best for Paolo is to warm the bench and come on at around 80th minutes! Bruma could have done better!
Bosingwa surely marauded forward but he couldn’t find a single cross. He rather perfected hitting at his opponent and being happy with a throw in. His going forward proved to be futile but he played his part well in the first two goals!
All in all, this is one of the worst performances I have seen for last 8 years. The front men didn’t do well and created nothing but the worst is that our defence made it look like 4 Koscielnys playing against 4 Messis! Even Onuoha played like Messi, not that he really can but because he was assisted by our defneders. But kudos to onuoha, I love his goal! Kudos to Sunderland, they showed what it means to play with a passion.
We started very slow and we never changed a gear, I am sure we have forgotten our gears at Cobham! I am wondering if ‘the 9 consecutive clean sheets at home’ and the desire to make it 10 had any impact on Sunday. We seemed to paly slow and never showed any derire to score a single goal. But if we wanted to extend our home clean sheets, then the display of our defence was totally to make another record: concede the highest goals at home. This is not a defence who wanted a clean sheet. And after Onuoha’s LOVELY goal I was really expecting Chelsea to come back strong – for now the record had broken – but surprisingly we resumed our second half exactly from where we have left. Why? Because ramires was still there with his bags of flaws dangling. And it is not until the 2nd goal that we tried to show some passion, passion? Yeah, an iota!
Carlo fielded wrong 11 and to worsen it, his substitutions were wrong. McEachran should have come on at HT for ramires and Malouda should stayed longer. It should have been Kakuta for Zhirkov and Kalou for Anelka because Drogba and Kalou seem to click at times.
I am sure Carlo learnt his hard lesson and that he wouldn’t really trust as much in Ramires. Yes, he had a depleted squad to choose from, but he had many far better than ramires. Anyway we are still at the top. Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the consolations. Everton was spanked! As I said in my last poast I was sure that knowing the result (of your rivals) before you play your game would help us, and it was a good result for us to take advantage on but everything that I siad in my earlier post got totally the opposite. I predicted a 3:0 win for us!
Now we have to travel to formidable Birmingham City and I do not expect much from this ground. But I am sure Tottenham can hold Arsenal and do us a favour while manure seems sure of three points at home from a toothless Wigan. I fear the gap will close in on us this weekend and we have a needless International break midweek.
But we still can afford a smile because we are still at the top!
Guys, is Ray the reason?
Dear friends,
Forgive for the numerous typos, it exactly shows how upset and muddled i currently am!
And i want to share few thoughts about Aston Villa versus manure match:
1. Hernandez can kick the ball after the whistle had gone and he can also kick his opponents and can still play;
2. Nani’s elbow is deliberate and therefore a red card;
3. Brown tackle deserves a red card;
All the three above were saved by Mike Dean, who surely have his wallet fattened by Faggotson!
And there is 5 minutes added on, where did it come from?
Sorry BC..
But I really don’t like the way this blog is going..”face-only-your-mom -would-love”?? sorry karma but you don’t pass such comments..
I won’t really be joining back here..This is not what this blog was..The blog i loved..nowhere near it. I like you BC..Iam fine with a few posts from you than having people swear and make personal comments. Wasn’t this “Anything But Abuse Blog”.
I really want BC to clean this up. And if this is the way it will go I won’t be making any more visits here.
Sorry
Tanmay,
I am gravely sorry and i accept your annoyance. I know i have gone beyond the normalcy and that i might as well have tarnished the name of the lovely BC that we all love. But i was so frustrated with the performance of Ramires and still getting to play for 70 minutes that i lost my decency and the best i can avenge is to rant at him in here. I am sorry to BC for having done this but i think Chelsea fans would understand my feelings and the madness thereof.
Tanmay, please don’t leave the blog and i am sure BC himself will revive the true colours of the BC blog. I just know that he is busy and was trying to post something but it so happens that i happen to write mostly when Chelsea is not doing any good to us. I will however, try not to go overhead. Once again, i am sorry for my rawness! But yes i hate ramires!
Hey Karma,
I certainly agree with you on certain points. I think carlo is showing toooooooooooooo much patience with Ramires. He is getting n number of opportunities to settle in and to prove himself but he isnt doing anything. Just hope he will pick up like flo. Now speaking about Josh. I think he shud get a start in our next match, because a 17 year old kid can’t do anything if he is brought in after 70 mins and that too when the team is 2-0 down. I don’t know why isn’t carlo giving him a start when he has impressed more than Ramires. He is the only guy according to me who can atleast half fill the void left by SUPER FRANKIE LAMPARD.
All is not lost…… but it seems we are lost …. more than just a bit……
Sorry Chels but I couldn’t keep myself from switching channels to the X-Files .
That’s how bad it was ……. painful….. and depressing …. then quick peepsm to see more goals roll into Chelsea goal ………………. couldn’t sleep for a while afterwards either……
Carlo as learn his mistake.chelsea 4 life
@ Tanmay
I understand your feelings . Karma is also a good writer. He must have started to write this post just after the match. So , has made a remark which is slightly off target.
Just because there is one potential flaw in his post , you need not quit the blog. Need to take it on the chin !!!!
@ Karma
Mate , chill down. I know your viewpoints on Ramires , Deco , Kalou etc… Tone them down. They are decent squad players. Mikel took 3 years to settle in . His tackling was awful till last season. Give him sometime. Same time next season , if his performances still remain the same , I will join your bandwagon.
Coming to the match , I lay the blame at Carlo’s feet. 1-0 down at the break , he must have fired the squad up. Chelsea should be breathing fire then. Sunder should shudder. But , his soft attitude and his lack of emotions has not done much help. I had mentioned the same thing in BC shout during the match ( made an unfortunate reference to a previous manager !! ) . In any case , the famous Chelsea spirit is missing. This is Stamford Bridge….teams should “piss-in-their-pants ” at the prospect of facing a fired up chelsea. Blood curdling screams , ground breaking tackles , scorching the turf passes needed to be the order of the day. All we end up is a repeat of the first half in the process giving Sunderland more space on the counter attack. Of all the players , I found only Iva and Cech to be fired up.Rest are just doing their duties.
I pray the famous Chelsea spirit be back. The spirit which was instilled was a former manager which held us in good stead till date. It is still found in players like Ess , Terry , Lamps etc….who were missing from action. I am not worried about the result or the performance. I am more worried of the response. Teams will not fear to face us @ Bridge….Carlo, you need to start a hair dryer treatment…
There’s no point in trying to blame individuals for this, the most pathetic performance for many many years. Only Ivanovic (despite being lucky to even stay on the pitch) and Cech (he kept the score line down to just 0-3, if he had had a bad day too, we could have lost 0-6, maybe even 2-7) can keep their heads held high. All the rest of the players, the management and the Board should be ashamed. None of them should get paid this week.
Carlo however does come clean in the after-match interview stating that the mentality was all wrong (may have something to do with sacking Ray) and that it was the worst display since he took over (in fact it was the worst display for at least a decade, not even Scolari did worse than today).
I hope this is the bad spell Carlo has been talking about being unavoidable and that the dressing room will keep discipline in order for us to get back to strength before the important December fixtures.
i know..and iam sorry i threatened to leave..
It’s just that i don’t like personal remarks against players..really puts me off..I have nothing against the criticism..in fact i produced quite a bit myself..so it’s fine.
What we need are remedies…. no point talking about who brought home or how we got the disease anymore…….
My remedies……
I’d like to line ‘em all up and smack ‘em on the bums til they all scream “mom mom mom !”
I would deprive them of food for a day and booze for 6 months.
I would have ‘em face one another in a long line and give each other a smarting slap in the face…..
I would make them go after balls wayward while the ball-boys play.
I would show them the game again and again till they all break-down…til snot flows…
I would have them play 5 a side with the Arsenal reserve team for a day.
I would call a coach and parents meeting !
I would make them watch hour-long DVD’s of macheda and messi and tevez and torres score goals for hours.
Carlo, u r free to use my ideas…… !
all the chelsea fans look at my comment, our main problem is that we don’t have prayers any more, how can we sell some one like ballack, deco ,belletti and j.cole and buy only a Brazilian kenya monkey like ramires .his not even a good ball passer what type of footballer is he,our 17yrs old boy is far better than him.please get led of this guy or our season will be finished.and we need strikers drogba is old and can not find target again.bosingwa is a bad luck prayer, just get reid of him or he will sack u the way he sack scolari pls,we used to struggle if he is on our team.
I think even Mellis would ve done a better job!! 18 million wasted up… Yes!! But it was the same we thought about Zhirkov an year ago!! He has boundless energy and his tackling is good.. But somehow he is not comfortable in possession. But i feel that has a lot to do with the pace of BPL. May be start Mceachran next match ahead of him. What say? We need a box-to-box midfielder like Hamshik!! And someone who can unlock defences with pace and skill.. (neymar?? probably.. Kakuta for now?? the boy seems to be lacking in confidence a bit..) Whatever it is, We know that it would have hurt the players as much as us.. So no harsh talks. It will kick them on to better performances.. Sometimes when u r at the top u may take it easily.. Its better to beat top4, win the league and lose once in a bluemoon to sunderland.. Isnt it?? Don worry.. KTBFFH!!
I blame Carlo alone for this loss. When he first came he was trying to introduce his diamond. After losses to Wigan and Aston Villa last year he went back to Guus’s 4-3-3. It did bring success then but that was last year. This is a new season he needs to rotate squad and keep changing formations, like today 4-4-2 should have worked. Then again i hate his reliance on Mikel as the new Defensive Mid. That position should be Essiens alone. And why he is so deperately trying to make place for Zhrikov, he is a left back and we shouldnt be playing him in the midfield. Carlo is demanding too much versatility out of a few players. Just because he made right-back out of Ivanovic he cant expect to transform every other player for different roles. Ancelotti needs to work new formations. The other thing about Carlo is that there in so plan B in his approach. The biggest example when AC lost to Loserpool from 3 nil up. Anyways, this is the worst defeat ever and i’m still in shock.
So we’ve officially seen our worst performance since the 3-0 defeat at Manure a couple of years ago. We didn’t get anyone sent off (rather fortuitously), we didn’t get any enforced injuries on the pitch and we didn’t have any excuse.
Let me just cut to the chase. Simply put we were awful. How Benfica managed to trick us into giving them 18m quids for him will forever remain a mystery to me. I didn’t know him much prior to his signing but i thought even Kaka was singing his praise. Awful absolutely awful. The lad can’t tackle, can’t pass and has a dreadful first touch for a professional footballer. I am sure he’s ok, but he’s definitely not Blue standard.
Our problem last night was our midfield. Mikel sits so it leaves Zhirkov and Ramires to press forward as well as win balls i.e. tackle the damn opponent. Carlo should tell us why the hell does he play Ramires. What is his role in the team? Is it just for work permit? Cos he’s played for sometime now and he’s been awful. Even Arsenal bullied him off the ball in that match and people claim ti was his best performance. Folks, what this match as well as the Loserpool match tell me is this. That our “fringe” players merely hide behind the big lads to perform. When those guys are not around we are totally pants. JUst watching the game, no one wanted the ball when we even had a throw in. Ash will b there looking for someone to throw the ball to for about a minute. Look at Onuoha’s goal. No one wanted to get stuck in. They all stood off. That has been our bane this season. No one gets stuck in. Man City did it to us, then Loserpool now sunderland. They all figured none of our lads gets stuck in. So prior to matches we hear oppositon managers in the press conferences saying Chelsea are physical yet when the games start we chicken out as their teams go all out at us. Even Lucas was bullying our midfield. Zhirkov and Ramires dont add much to our midfield. 1 or 2 good performance will not win us the title . let’s not even think abt europe. Our midfielders must b consistent. I say Josh ahead of ramires hence forth.
I think Carlo has got the team wrong. i really dont see us winning the league this year . I hope they prove me wrong but i dont see it. Cos we could still have the five juniors in the team yet have a strong bench. We didn’t do that. I think the cost cutting has hit us. i know it’s strange saying that but looking at things , it really has. How then is it that Borini doesn’t wanna sign a new contract and is leaving after this season. Kakuta is also probably leaving when his contract runs down.
I think Abramovic will demand some answers after this performance. Heads must surely role.
One can understand Carlo’s patience with Ramires, he brought him in hence the desire to see him florish. One thing I do not understand is Carlo’s insistence that we do not need additional players, maybe winning the premiership in his first season gave him the impression it is child’s play. I hope this is a rude awakening. How could we have lost Ballack, Deco, Belleti and Carvalho and all we bring in is Ramires, that is not even fair to him, how can one man fill so many shoes. What we have done is to show dis-respect to the premiership by this attitude and personally I don’t see us winning the Champion’s League and maybe the club needs to let us know what is the target for this season so we can allign our expectation accordingly. Beyond our first eleven, we seriously lack back-up, if I may ask, in a match against e.g Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Inter, we have our team complete, no injuries or illness, we are a goal down, who is the game changer that can be brought in to make a difference? I leave us with this question and I will appreciate answers.
I wonder why Chelsea fans keeps playing every game before it is actually played on the field. Now you have seen aston villa and birmingham city as consolations just like you made all your noise about trashing, flogging and destroying Sunderland. But where are you now?Remember MR PRIDE and what it means and how harmful it could be,it could destroy you.
Just so that the Chelsea players know, i tore my very expensive Electrical Engineering textbook when i flung it at the wall after their dismay perfomance. For a moment not so long ago i was convinced we the best team in the world, or at least second best only to Madrid but now im starting to think the critics were right, our early good run was thanks to easy fixtures. We flattered against ALL formidable opposition this season, Man Utd in the Charity Shield, Man City, Liverpool, and mid table Villa and Sunderland. Chelsea are good at dominating weak teams and scoring goals for fun, but against strong opposition i dont know what happens. The media have the players believe they are the best in the business so when they attack they go all in, which is good of course but if you are not Barca who can find a goal 98% of the time 8 players are in the opponent’s half then you leave yourself exposed to dangerous and costly counter attacks. It cost Bayern the Champions League, it cost us against Man City, the first Liverpool goal and also against Sunderland.
Another thing is Ancelloti’s tactics, 4-3-3 is great when you have all the best chelsea players but with the likes of playmakers like Essein and Lampard out, and no John Terry to hold of an attack of 3/4 players, Chelsea are very exposed at the back, Malouda should have played in the midfield in a 4-4-2 or if Carlo is so “attack minded” then he could have gone for a 4-2-2-2, just until the right players for the 4-3-3 formation get back to full fitness. A reaction against B. City is needed if we are to have any chance of defending our title, which we can VERY easily do (EPL teams are very weak this season, can you imagine where we would be if we could have beaten Man City, Villa, Liverpool and Sunderland? We had the means to), but while im almost sure we can defend the EPL title, i dont care much about it, i want the elusive Champions league and we wont win it with this mentality and type of play.
Sorry….. Carlo ….. we know you are a good man and a great manager…… but we Chelsea fans know of times when our defence was rock solid and we knew how to miserly win games …. u know grind the opposing bastards down… when even the great attacking sides of Europe knew they would bleed before they would score……….
Carlo…… you know exactly what I am talking about ……. the Jose years…… I besseech you not to throw such a fine legacy away……..
AND YO ROMAN !
Get ya big fat checkbook out ! Here’s the Xmas presents I want ……
1. Bastien Swarzsteinger
2. Tim Cahill of Everton
3. SOMEONE around 23 and in the mold of Essien…… big , black,… ferocious…strong…

5. Steve Clark or Zola as assistant
Unbelievable at stamford bridge we lost 0 :3 even d galaticos cant get that result &when said that we need more 3player mr we he dont need any player @january transfer window,4king ramires+old soldjer ferreira+tireles mallouda+mr maleria drogba+back pain anelka+mr bad pasing cole=worst game of the season hooo my god pls dont let this club reck down!
Awful game. Just a quick remarks to try to understand what happened:
1) Without Essi and Lamps (and Ballack or any other playmaker) our game is utterly one-dimensional. Bruce was quite aware of the fact that if Cats would cut Drogba from long passes and don’t give Anelka space to obtain an aerial pass, then they can succeed. He had seen Ramires with Zhirkov playing and maybe was hoping Carlo would pick him side-by-side again. There is no playmaker, no player able to hold the ball and feed the attack with decent passes. There is no cooperation between midfield and attack and – even more painful – with defence. When Bosingwa rounded two players, looked around, realised that there is no one he could direct a pass to and so decided to run aimlessly forvard until he was stopped by 2 Sunderland defenders, I was about to scream. ´
2) This mess is not only about Ramires or Zhirkov. There has been much written about “only-our-mom-will-love” (or so) player… I would not be so harsh in the judgement of him. Certainly he does not know what to do. His positioning is awful, when he is given the ball by chance (and does not loose it in the next second), he can only run several metres and than find an empty space where to pass the ball aimlessly and so give it to the opponent. Sometimes I think he wants to play football like in 80s – receive the ball, turn around, raise his head, look around and then – and not before then – decide where to pass it. His play is quite a pain in the ass, cause his loose balls cost hell lot of power – we have to turn back, fight for it again, etc. Moreover, he is not able to fill correct spaces when defending and is thus forced to solve it with dangerous tackles.
This all is true, but… as I wrote before… think about other players that came to Chelsea and did not shine on the first occassion. Some Maloudas, Mikels, Anelkas, etc. Ramires is certainly quite an unfortunate figure in this respect. He was brought here to get used to Premier League, gradually fit into the squad and eventually succeed Lamps when the SFL finally hangs up his boots. Instead, he is given a responsibility for organising Chelsea game just weeks after coming. I would not want to be in his skin. Moreover, he is not given a privilege to play with regular A-team partners, as his partner in midfield is a wingback turned-to-be a midfielder. So what could he do?
3) Carlo did just a half job with youngsters, promoting them to the first squad but not giving them enough chance even in such a matches. I fully agree with Karma that Josh was to be put on the pitch at half time at the latest. And our defense! Poor old Ferreira was forced to play central midfielder alongside Ivanovic, who is a good defender on his own but certainly not a leader and commander. I was so sorry for Paulo when I saw him there. His positioning was just awful, leaving many space in both gradual attacks or counter-attacks. He was slow, indecisive and brought a lot of chaos to our defensive play. Bruma would do much, much better.
4) As I can see, we simply cannot use any Plan B when Lamps, Essi and JT are out and Drogs is just returning to action. I don’t think we don’t have any Plan B at all – Carlo is not Wenger to stick with just one-dimensional play – but the players currently available are not able to get accustomed to it. When Malouda left for Kalou, I hoped Kalou would play right mid, Zhirkov would move to the left mid and so we would change to 4-4-2. Neither of that really happened. Kalou played on the right side of attack rather than midfield, although it was our pre-final phase that did not work. Zhirkov stayed in the centre of midfield as something between Essi and JC, but not fulfilling functions of any of them. Carlo should really enlarge his tactical options; the Plan A has probably been well studied and analysed by all the coaches in the PL yet.
Out:Ramires,Ferriera.
In:DIEGO we have 1 playmeker and 1 striker.
Shape up the defense, bring in: Srna / Dani Alves … Mexes / David Luiz
Shape up the midfield, bring in: Gareth Bale / Javier Pastore / Bastian Shweinsteigger
Shape up the strikers, bring in: Torres / Neymar / Lukaku / Tevez
Between 3/4 new faces are needed at Chelsea, by no means am I suggesting stop the growth of youngsters, I am totally against that. Bur at the same time Chelsea do need a plan B and a few players who are different and able to change the game in a heartbeat.
This term we have fallen behind on 4 occasions, and in 3 of those we lost the match and failed to score. 1-0 defeat to Man City, 2-0 Defeat to Liverpool and 3-0 defeat to Sunderland (hopefully we have learned our lessons and would prevent a 4-0 drubbing next). The only game where we came from behind and showed some determination was 1-2 win againt Blackburn. Therefore something really needs to change at Chelsea, if not the new faces then a change of tactics and formation, I would happily accept the boring 1-0 wins and have 3 points in the bag then to show no spirit and determination on the pitch and finish the season empty handed. KTBFFH
@Karma CW
To start with it is the ‘face-only-your-mom-will-love’ Ramires! He is awfully awful and a disgusting sight!…
I’m sorry, but i dont really agree with what you have just wrote in the article. This is no way to criticize a player for his performance. Its actually irrelevant. The reason why people like this blog is because we get to discuss actual football matters, based on tactics, strategies and formation. This is what makes this blog tick, at least for me.
Im not trying to be hard on you Karma CW, but when you continue to write like this, its gonna harm your credibility. As soon as I read this sentence, I did not feel like reading the rest of the article, just because of the attitude you showed towards this player. I understand your emotions at having lost the match and your completely entitled to criticize the players, but on their performances. It is not right for you to make such harsh comments regarding his face and looks, at least keep them to yourself. These should not be expressed in such a way. Again, it doesnt reflect good on you.
I would suggest to remove that sentence from the article you write. It doesnt blend with the nature of the blog, a nature that has attracted so many of us.
Cheers!
It is the first time Chelsea have lost so many games at this stage of the season for a decade.
Chelsea’s Premier League defeats
• 2000-01 Total defeats 11. Third defeat v Southampton, Nov 4, 2000.
• 2001-02 Total defeats 8. Third defeat v Arsenal, Dec 26, 2001.

• 2010-11 Defeats to date: 3. Third defeat v Sunderland, Nov 14, 2010
*The defeat by Sunderland was only the fourth Chelsea have suffered at home in the Premier League in 127 games there, since Arsenal won 2-1 on February 21, 2004.
Subsequent defeats:
• 2003-04 0/6
• 2004-05 0/19
• 2005-06 0/19
• 2006-07 0/19
• 2007-08 0/19
• 2008-09 2/19 (Oct 26, 2008, L 0-1 v Liverpool; Nov 11, 2008 L 1-2 v Arsenal).
• 2009-10 1/19 (Feb 27, 2010, L 2-4 v Man City)
• 2010-11 1/7 (Nov 14, 2010, L 0-3 v Sunderland)
And there’s more for the history books
*Nedum Onuoha’s goal, Sunderland’s first, was the first conceded at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League this season — and the first conceded in 915 minutes.
*It was the heaviest home defeat suffered during the reign of Roman Abramovic, as chairman.
*It was Chelsea’s heaviest league loss at home since April 2002 when Manchester United won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
*It was the first time, in 24 attempts, that Sunderland manager Steve Bruce had led a side to a top flight victory in London.
It was the first time since Nov 22 2008 that Chelsea have failed to score in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
It was the first time since Leeds United’s 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge in 1995 that Chelsea have lost a home Premier League game by a three-goal margin to a side outside the top traditional ‘big four’.
Sunderland were 250/1 to win 3-0 with bookmakers before kick-off yesterday.
We cannot dominate on all four fronts (Premiership, League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Champions league) let alone just the premier league if we don’t invest in our players. Just look at Madrid, they’ve got Ronaldo, DiMaria, Kaka, Oezil, Higuian etc.
We need new players. Look I’m not saying buy them all in one go. But that is the road we’re heading towards. If one or two players gets injured or is suspended and another is going through a bad patch (colourless period) we should be able to replace him easily. There should be some competition in their, as the second eleven group just like in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. The fringe players should be as strong as the first eleven going on to the pitch. C’mon Roman Abromavich buy some players, invest in the team. cheers!
@michael, I did point out in the previous blog, In case you haven’t noticed we’re already out of the League Cup
hey , Karma dude! What happened to you bro, you taking some weed? … :). The poor guy ramires, if he reads this blog, he would run away from england altogether. His performance is awful, but your remarks on his face are even more awful than his performance.
getting to the match, its all apparent. you know, the signs are all there. Lot of missing players, tired legs, out of position players. I was not expecting much from this game as soon as I saw the line up. In fact, the first scentence i typed in BC shout at the start of this match is ” I get a bad feeling about this”. I was dissappointed only that my psychic powers are so good, that I cant use them properly on buying stocks.
I would like to summarize some of the nice posts above. All in all, I think this one loss has to do with many things, but primarily the manager is the one person that should take the most of the blame. Even a noone like me can feel the apprehension ,I am just perplexed what carlo is thinking ahead of this game. As the ever sensible VJ aka BC pointed out, its something to do with our response at half time. Dull, tootless and no change at all. As some one said, we just came back from behind only once @blackburn.
I hope Carlo looks more closely at his approach to his games and his plans, given that missing players due to injuries are no excuses i expect from a top manager like him. he uncovered pirlo and kaka at milan, and in this match we dont even have a player 10% of their calibre. i would like to say this thing to carlo, if he thinks ramires as the kaka of chelsea, i have some serious concerns. i think he understands that EPL or BPL (whatever :)) is more cruel than his good old italia. i am expecting some reaction out of him.
On top of it, i would agree with the view that the board and roman are also responsible for this result. sacking ray such a way is no brainer. whatever is the politics playing inside the boardroom, this feeling of insecurity directly affects the players. one hard truth to roman “we are no longer the only billionaires out there like six years back”.
Frank Lampard! Get to the training ground, we need you badly back in form again. Stop fooling around in your new toy.

@ 29 …Oh my Blue
I am Vijay . Even though I share the same name as BC , I am not BC !!!!!
Thanks for the light hearted moment in this moment of despair ( Hey , I started using Carlo’s language “moment”) …
Danablue – I read your comments (message) and am fully aware that Chelsea is out of the League Cup. What I’m talking about is Cups to come in the future etc. cheers!
Hey guys under no circumstances do you put the UEFA Champions League ahead of the Premiership winning the Premier League is of paramount importance. And I disagree with you Karma CW and the alot of you guys. Ramires is a good player. Watch and see! cheers!
A lot of our problems can be attributed to Chelsea giving away all our solid midfield subs at our highpoint last summer. Ballack’s a big one, Deco even, Joe Cole, all can stand in for an Essien or Lampard. Unfortunately Ramires, or Zhirkov can’t do this stuff themselves. What we lost when we decided to give away a Cole or a Ballack was experience. That was probably not such a great idea.:P
Also, there was some big news about Wilkins being given the boot most unprofessionally. Let’s not get used to being on top anymore :(
this player is goinng to barca!!!…. damn man look at the price… our scout need a kick up the ass.. u will all see how good he is

i dont think we strengthened as well as we could during the summer. and it shows, we bought a brazilian that does not play like a brazilian….
there were many young gifted players out there chelsea could have bought…
It just keep getting worse and worse

Dear friends,
I, once again offer my deepest apologies for the foul language. But the fact is i still don’t regret it. Of course i must comment only on his performance, not his appearance but in a fist of madness things can really go awry! Yes, i am, like most of you, hopeful that Ramires would flourish soon because we know that even Drogba was so quiet in his first tenure.
But as promised already, i would try not to go mad next time, or may be i should write something only after few days of a disappointing performance from someone and a team.
Anyway, let us wait and see how this weekend would turn out to be. Let us hope that the international break would not injure our players.
Please vote for Drogba:

JT is injured seriously and may be out for months.
Any news on Alex ?
Is Bruma ready ?
Any others who can play centre back apart from Paulo ?
I haven’t heard about Alex but i would prefer Bruma ahead of Ferreira. And to solve our midfield crisis, let us all sing the name of sShinji Kagawa. He is young (21), he is fast and skilled and he may be available at a cheaper rate. He can also help us dominate Asian sports shops!
I WANT SHINJI KAGAWA!
Lovely Article

Karma, I strongly recommend u to change the “above” word in your post. Obviously, it is not a word we wanted to see in this blog. As you, we are all disappointed, but still Ramires could be better player than now or Chelsea legend one day.
We can criticize or accuse the players for their poor display if they deserve, but we don’t need to swear on them to do that, bcoz they are Chelsea players, and I am sure they tried their best not to loose.
