In Singapore, StarHub used to have the rights for premier league telecast until last year. Most of the hotels and service apartments happened to have the StarHub connections. This season though, Singtel have the premier league rights but these hotels etc continue to have the StarHub connections. This means, every time there is a premier league match I want to watch, I need to find a pub or settle for unreliable streams or at worst, follow live text commentary on BBC.
I like watching live football in pubs. That’s always a lovely experience. Having been used to 40-inch television screens at home for football viewing and football gaming, the smaller size TVs are not big enough for me. There are a few pubs that show live football on big screens but there aren’t any around where I live here. No matter where it is, watching Chelsea is always fun. These are great times for Chelsea fans. We’re still on top of the table as we enter the month of November, despite some key injuries. We’ve got Bosingwa back after a long lay off. We’ve got youngsters breaking into the team. Man Utd are weakening – not sure if this is short or long term. Chelsea’s blue flag is really flying high.
Blackburn is now part of a unique piece of history. They have become the first premier league club to be owned by an Indian entity. Venkateshwara Hatcheries have taken over the club and that seems to have infused new life into the club. Venkys have made it clear that they are not going shower millions but you can’t deny that the morale is on a high at Ewood Park. In any case, Sam Allardyce’s team do make it tough for the top teams.
Lazy journalists keep highlighting how physical and strong Chelsea players are. The fact is, it is teams like Blackburn Rovers that are truly physical teams. They approach every match as a fight, use brute force as their primary method of winning the ball or interrupting the play. They can be dangerous with their reckless attempts. I’m not running them down, I’m just saying what a really ‘physical and strong’ team can do. Jose Mourinho said that teams surrender to Barcelona and give away cheap points. Such an approach just can’t be seen in premier league. Every team plays to get something out of the match. Blackburn are a good example of how teams in lower positions play in the premier league.
Alex is back for Chelsea which means Ivanovic might have to sit out. Ivanovic has been brilliant in Bosingwa’s absence but when the latter is fit and back, I doubt if the serbian would get the nod. I see that Ramires has improved since his run of disastrous matches. Still I’d be a bit concerned to see him start against Blackburn at Ewood Park (he is out doubtful for this match though). If he bottles up, it could turn out to be too costly for us. I’d fancy seeing Josh starting the game. In a tough away game like this, it’s not a tradition to start youngsters as the value of experience is a bit of overstated. Josh has already shown that he is no ordinary youngster. He is highly skilled and also seems to have a mature head.
Remember, when Mikel started playing in the defensive midfield for us, he was 19. It’s never easy to break into a team like Chelsea and that too at the age of 19 and playing a difficult position like defensive midfield. Mikel could do it (read his interesting interview here). He is an important reason why we control the games so well. For a young player like Mikel to be able to play such a pivotal role in a team of Chelsea’s stature, it’s quite an achievement. He was able to do this because we persisted with him and grew him in this new league and this position. I think we need to do the same with Josh.
The match is today and Carlo Ancelotti has not announced his team yet. He seems to have this habit of naming his team well ahead of the match. I don’t know if it’s tactically helpful but certainly Carlo knows more about football than I do. We should play our best team and take this match really seriously. We should show some improvement from our Wolves performance. I know that was on the back of a long travel from Russia but in today’s match, we should not make it too difficult for ourselves.
I’d predict a 2-0 win for Chelsea. I haven’t simulated this in Winning Eleven 2011 yet. If I get to do, I’ll post that update and video as well. You all have a great weekend! Cheers!

up chelsea !
Let’s BURN ‘EM BLACK !

Just Have a look at this link:- http://soccerlens.com/chelseas-greatest-signings-under-roman-abramovich/59992/
I believe its good
Good result by Chelsea. These close games doesn’t do any good for the heart rate.I still feel though that we should have played blackburn off the park. We should look to build a team like Madrid, who is full of stars including their manager. So that the opposition cannot compete with Chelsea. Before anyone gets upset I think that Carlo Ancelotti is world-class. We tend to build teams that are good enough to beat other teams in the Premier league just like what Man City has done last season and this season. Very stupid if you ask me. So please Chelsea just look to Barcelona, you don’t have to spend money bags, develop the youth instead. cheers!

Does Guti H still play for Real Madrid? No his past his prime. We need to build a squad that can compete on all four fronts! cheers!
guys i’m trying to buy a genuine Chelsea jersey 2010 (home) where and how can i can one at a reasonable cost, custom !! hit me up at (lanrev10@yahoo.com).
the game was a hard one… i was spead out on the ground when ivano scored….. im so happy ivano score.. the damn man has heart!!!! a true blue… i have always said.. i dont know how bosman gonna replace the serbian beast!
bosman does make the right more lively though, the right side of the defense look very good, i would love to see van anholt get a few subs at the lb… our defense look very promising ill say!
That’s about as bad as Chelsea have looked this season, including the Man City match.
They couldn’t seem to string together three passes without giving the ball away. Errant pass after errant pass. Admittedly, at times it was due to Blackburn’s pressure. But not always. And this, after Ancelotti publicly urged them to play with more energy.
They were very fortunate to win. And although Zhirkov has garnered lots of praise for his play, frankly I thought he was missing in action for most of the game before producing a moment of brilliance.
Drogba’s touch has yet to return (his brilliant pass to Anelka notwithstanding.) Essien and Mikel were close to being awful. And Lampard is sorely missed. It seems as if Mikel, Essien and Malouda have played in every match this season: perhaps they’re feeling burned out?
I thought Cech was Chelsea’s man of the match.
I can only hope that their minds were on the midweek Champions League match and next week’s trip to Anfield. Sure hope Lampard comes back next week, even if only for limited minutes.
Cech’s spring from the death saved us at Ewood Park! And i am so happy that Zhirkov could assist his best pal at Chelsea! Whatever it is we bag our points cleanly unlike some referee-assisted wankers (in red). Only thing worrying is that Essien seems to have a dip in his form, lots of mis-controls, hurried and lose passes! And Ashley must score that sitter!
On Wednesday, i would love Carlo to field strong 11 and score as many goal, and then substitute our top players and give youngsters a chance. We need to prepare for Anfield but i am happy that loserfool play on Thursday!
Michael, i have forgotten our talk about Guti H, you may rekindle my memory!

Hahahaha I said that Guti H was past his prime and you begged to differ with me. That is a fact. Where is he now? cheers!
I believe most of the players playing at anfiled should be given a rest for the CL game. the mid fielders seem to have burned out and so is nicolas. i would start with DD and kalou. Kalout is the most improved player this season and should be given more starts. we are loosing the attacking threat we started the season. we are steadily coming down from invincible to average or just above average. good thing is that the rest of the pack looks uglier than us. however we should be prepared to meet mourinho or farcelona and our morale should not be diluted bcos the EPL top 4 or 5 are faltering
CL game

Oh mY bLUE, I wouldn’t worry about Liverpool if I were you. The thing with Chelsea is they don’t know how to build a team and sustain that team for a number of years.
Karma CW, you’re like the little brother I never had. cheers!
Dang…flo seems to be out as well…so start with Sturridge , DD and Kalou upfront and add Nico to bench

i love that formation with jose in nthe midfield :)
Just seen Gareth Bale for Spurs vs Inter. We need to get hold of that guy. Tonight he established himself as a world class player. Amazing speed and composure, he made Lucio look like an OAP.
Let’s qualify tomorrow so we can focus on the EPL for a while.
Where are u BC,no post for tomorrows game…Karma u can do the job,why dont u post something ur fans are getting Bored…………………….
i hope this is drogba’s year in champions league .
Helo true blue fans, this site is gradually WEARING out; malouda has a slight ankle injury, hope to be back before anfield game.
I hope to see Essien and Anelka rested for the weekend game. Here is my choice of starts in today’s champions league game
Sturridge Drogba Kalou
Zhirkov Mikel Essien

I am so sorry i am not able to live up to the privilege of the BC blog. Yesterday i was on leave celebrating my daughter’s second birthday and then watching Chelsea early morning today have both taken its toll on me. I am so sorry but yes i am happy because Chelsea’s victory is the best gift for my daughter!
Michael, if you care a bit, let us talk about Chelsea. And if you are truly a Chelsea fan- which i greatly doubt- you are already my brother.
i think ivano should play most of the games

Happy birthday wishes to your daughter! Happy holiday for Ivano! He has been the hero of this week and 40000 pounds a week is unjustifying for this guy. i sincerely hope we dont ship this guy to madrid or juventus who are showing interest and we should get andy caroll for longterm DD replacement.
@30; are you out of your mind? Ivano playing most of the games ?
Ivano should play ‘every’ game
Carroll has been involved in many off-the-pitch incidents in his career. On 14 September 2008, Carroll was arrested by police called to the Pudding Chare in Newcastle responding to a report that a woman had been assaulted, and later accepted a police caution for assault. On 7 December 2009, he was arrested in the aftermath of a nightclub brawl, accused of smashing glass in a man’s face outside of the Blu Bambu night club in Newcastle city centre.[38] He was charged with assault [39] and is currently on bail awaiting a Crown Court trial. He was also arrested after an incident on the training ground which allegedly left teammate Steven Taylor with a broken jaw.[40] Carroll reportedly suffered a broken hand in the incident, and he was shortly photographed in a pop concert with bandages to both hands.[41] Manager Chris Hughton and club representatives declined to comment any further on the incident.[42] On 18 October 2010, Carroll was charged with assaulting a former girlfriend. Claiming self-defence, and having given a local hotel as his address, Carroll was granted bail on the condition that he resides with Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan until the case resumes in January.[43] Two days following his bail, Carroll’s car was torched by vandals whilst parked on Nolan’s driveway, with the club captain’s garage door also being daubed with obscenities.[44]
Ivanovic is a good sub, Alex should replace him. On the other hand, why we even bother w/ Sturrigde and/or Kakuta? neither of them can dribble the ball…
I still want the NEYMAR from santos to join us, he’ll be a good replacement for “EL PUMA”
anelka 1
@33, BULL SHIT….when does chelsea look at off the pitch incidents…this kid is spoiled but is fearless…ha ha ha…bring the rowdies to the bridge………xD
@35, you reminded me of… those girls who like to be beat up…and keep coming back …
31. oH mY bLUE,
Thank you so much, means a lot to me! I would love Lukaku to come to us, if not then may be Carrol or Dzagoev!
Jones (Blackburn) has been lined up as a long-term replacement for Terry! Sounds nice, the boy idolises Terry!
What a game for the blues! Was a decent result but could of been better.
I have come across some outstanding Sports Memorabilia including Chelsea Memorabilia which is delivered free to mainland UK. :)
