Chelsea is just doing great. Essien did it, Everton did it, Scott Parker did it, Birmingham did it, Blackburn did it, West Brom did it, but sadly Pepe Reina and Martin Atkinson did it too. But does it really matter? I don’t have time to waste on Loserfool but talking about Manure, my answer is Yes and No!
Yes because the referees would continue to support Manure and would even take control of time (Owen’s equalizer in Manchester derby in the 100th minute last season and Jagielka’s doom before time last Saturday). Decisions, big and small usually go favouring Manure and there is a fund for referees and for those who score own goals. Remember 12 own goals for them last season!
No because as long as we win our games the clean way, there is not a single thing that would budge my tiniest hair! No because we manage to keep high-flying Malouda on the bench and still win comfortably, that also on an away match, on a hot derby!
About our match, we played really well to take the lead early on and good enough to keep it. We played as a team and we won as a team. Despite the fact that we have a midweek trip to Slovakia, I would have still put Malouda in the first 11 and then rested him at around the hour mark by bringing Kalou in, but the manager decided the other way around and we still got what we wanted.
Anyway all the three substitutions were spot on. The only thing which I am worried about is if Benayoun is still kept happy sitting on the bench till the final whistle because we all know for sure that he can and have a lot to deliver. Do not forget that he had been highly under-rated at Liverpool because of Benetiz’s indifference towards him. I hope we get to utilise the real Benny! But it is still good that we got to see flashes of Kakuta even if it was at the cost of Benny!
Let us all congratulate Ramires for a proper 90 minutes of football and yes we have a very good reason to be excited when he is in the team. I think he even learnt English fast enough to give Noble quite a mouthful!
One positive approach from us was the utilisation of our full backs, forget about Ashley, even Ferreira had a decent contribution and luxury on the right flank. Those who still think that Ferreira isn’t good enough must really re-think! May we thank Avarm Grant for fielding a narrow midfield against us!
Even Mikel came inches close to scoring his first ever EPL goal for us, how nice it would have been had that 91 degree been a perfect 90 degree shot! I would really love to see how Mikel would celebrate his goal!
West Ham is a neighbour but in football neighbours are often the greatest enemies but neighbours do bring in familiar and lovely faces too. We used to go there to make our heroes Zola and Clarke sad. On Saturday, we went there and the likes of Scott Parker, Carlton Cole, Ben Haim and Grant wished they were still a Blue!
Now we have travelled to Slovakia and Cole has been left behind which means that Zhirkov will feature and I am delighted with it, especially in the light of his claims that he want to play and the limitation or absence of which might mean that he will re-think and probably go back to Russia. But now Carlo had stressed that “….his future is here in Chelsea” and also promised that “….but he will have the possibility to play a lot of games this year because we are involved in a lot of competitions and I need all the players fit and ready to play”. But this has a big undercurrent with the word, “possibility” which means that Zhirkov really have to bring his A+ to get in the first 11, let us hope that he will.
Carlo had announced his first 11 and I am for it except that Sturridge might give me a tinge of uneasiness but I would still prefer him ahead of Kalou and I am sure Nico will play a good centre-forward role like he did when Drogba was away on ACN duty last season. And maybe Sturridge can drift inwards and do what Robben does best! I am contented with our back four and really excited to see our midfield coordination, I am happy that modest Benny finally starts his game. Alex had said that he is in the top of his form so it would be great to see Zhirkov, Terry, Alex and Ivanovic at the back while Mikel does best in protecting our back four. Even Terry had showered praises on him! And we have Ramires on the bench!
Anyway, it might still be a tight game but we will win after all we have a high flying Essien and Malouda and Kalou is a super-sub! I hope the absence of Drogba wouldn’t affect us adversely.
Anyway, let us congratulate Carlotti for winning the much deserved ‘Manager of the Month’ award and the ‘Player of the Month’ should have been rightly Malouda’s had things been kept free of manure stink in the FA!
Today I will go home for an early sleep to wake up at 00.30 a.m.

Hey Karma.Very nice article.enjoyed reading it.i couldn’t agree more on who should have been The Player of the Month.
Great article, look forward to reading more! Kakuta is going to (hopefully) get more and more playing time!
Up chelsea pls upgrade me about the situation of jos bosingwa
Your article is superb, well articulated. You are a good football analyst, keep it up
BLUES FOR LIFE
Chelsea v Zilina: Cech; Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, Zhirkov; Benayoun, Essien, Mikel; Malouda, Sturridge, Anelka
I have been waiting for this kind of line-up as it will be one of the few chances Zhirkov/Bennyoun/Sturridge will have to remind us what they can do (for more than 15 mins). I hope they impress and get some chances through the season because i don’t like players leaving because they were unhappy and hardly played.
Karma, very great article! Keep it up! I also would really love to see how Mikel would celebrate his goal( Something tells me that that will be very very soon)! I just hope he doesn’t injure himself while celebrating cos he would be so estatic!! LETZ KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH! Blues till Paradise!!

Karma,Great Read buddy! Share the exact sentiments as you.Benny & Yury needing to be utilised more etc.I hope studge gets a goal with kakuta dazzling all on lookers on the hour mark.I do however want to see yury be used in attacking positions,I dont like the fact he’s cemented to defense & seen only as ash’s sub.I think he should be ahead of kalou when it comes to subs. Definitely tricky,Im going for a 2-1 win & would love to be proven wrong with a larger score margin.Little known european sides always cause us problems monaco, cluj etc.
3. Odulate wale,
I think it is safe for us to expect Bosingwa in September-October, he is being training but is still not ready to play. In Carlo we trust!
8. Blueblood,
I agree with you on Zhirkov, he is more of a winger/midfielder than a defender, so it would really be nice to see him featuring in place of Kalou or coming to substitute Malouda or Lampard when we are leading by quite a margin.
MSK Zilina won’t be easy but we will get what we want because we don’t disrespect our opponents like sir red nose (at least he got what he wanted: a goalless draw). I am for a 3:1 victory for us, or may be 2:0!
Nice post brother.I really enjoyed reading your stuff.I must let you know that you have definitely made my day.Keep it up men!!!! Chelsea till kingdom come.
Goal 1: credit goes to Benny for the groundwork but Nico and Essien kept their cool!
Goal 2: The very familiar and effective but unsung FRENCH CONNECTION (FCUK)in Chelsea!
Goal 3: Great corner, credit to Terry for the superb header; Nico had the easiest goal which reminded me of Ruud Van Nistelroy for being at the right place in the right time .
Goal 4: Benny did it again but Sturridge made it look so simple. Can’t have a better European debut than this!
Carlo got his substitutions spot on, I would like to call it a Young Substitution:
Kakuta did a decent job and yes Sturridge was being quite wasteful with his wayward passes, but he had a great starting debut in Champions League. I noticed that Kakuta’s volley passes were bit heavy more often than not, I am sure he will work on it.
Josh for Benny was good too because we were comfortable with the score and it is time that Josh get to play with the big boys in a big game! He did a good work and linked up well with the team mates.
Aanholt too got to live his dream, maybe he can get more play time next time around.
I may be wrong but I was really uneasy whenever Zhirkov got the ball or tackled, he had surely been affected by being a bench warmer. Anyway we know that he is happier now and that he will improve with time, I would really like to see him compete with the likes of Ashley, Frankie and Malouda for the starting berth.
I have also noticed that Malouda was quite unhappy with himself because he couldn’t score. This is good because it shows that he has the desire and want to score week in week out, I miss his right-footed goals!
I am not sure if you would agree but I was so impressed with Zilina fans and was wishing that they were gifted a goal for their devotion and passion. And sure enough, the goal was a real gift from the rarest of Cech-Ivanovic-Nico mistake. But yes I celebrated the goal solely because I was so touched by the way Zilina fans were backing their team. I know that Cech wouldn’t like to concede such cheap goals and I am sure that he will be more decisive next time when he leaves his goal line.
Let me take this chance to thank our beloved friends who travelled with the team, the commentator said “some 500 Chelsea fans”.
I can’t wait for the Sunday, I would go for an easy 4:1 for us!
Our modest Nico’s goal celebration was aimed at FFF! WOW!
great review of the game Karma!
From what I know and seen of Josh McEachran, he deserved at least 45mins in my opinion cause i think he’s way way better than his age suggests + him and Benny are our only playmakers. Could be interesting to play him against Blackpool with the rest being first choices.
hey guys.longtym for me no comment…hapi to be bck.Chelsea are doing great bt then i dnt wana see them losing da grip now lyk we dd wit scholari.rememba chelsea were on fire in dat year n i rememba we reachd 30 points without loosing bt thnks got bad wen we lost to liverpool n also crashd our own winnning record at stamford bridge.i hope we can build da same record lyk we did wit mourinho
i hope stamford bridge is transformd into SLAUGHTER HOUSE ONCE AGAIN…. COME ON CHELSEA…..I hope carlo retire at chelsea
I agree, Zhirkov was a real liability at left back against Zilina. It’s a little frightening to think that he’s the first option at that position should Ashley Cole be unavailable. Zhirkov had a very poor match. He was beaten with ease and his passes out of the back were often errant. The only time he looked good was in going forward with the ball.
Clearly he’d be better suited to a midfield role, but Chelsea’s midfield is simply too crowded with gifted players. Who would sit to make room for Zhirkov?
One can only hope that the lack of playing time was a significant factor in his poor performance. I don’t recall him looking this bad when he previously played on the back line.
Against Zilina Chelsea’s defense went through a very shaky spell. And it culminated in a goal that was unpleasantly reminiscent of the bad times early last season and the season before. Cech’s mistake was the kind he had been making all-too-frequently: misjudging a cross and creating an opportunity for the opposition. Only this time, he didn’t need a striker in the box to concede a goal.
If Chelsea are to fail this season, it will be because of defensive frailties. They haven’t been tested against a top club yet this season. Until they pass that test, I remain concerned.
Exciting things happen every time Kakuta steps on the pitch. The young man clearly has “it”. More so than any other Chelsea young player, including Ramires, Gael seems to energize the attack and create opportunities. It may not be a coincidence that Ramires played a solid but dull game against West Ham until Kakuta got in. After that, Ramires came to life and was far more aggressive and exciting. I can’t wait to see Gael get more playing time.
Essien seems to be playing with a joy and a skill that Chelsea sorely missed last season. How great it is to see him on the pitch again. It’s like getting for free a transfer player worth tens of millions of euros. And with Mikel Obi seemingly having raised his game as the holding midfielder, Essien’s free to move forward without conscience. I’m waiting for the Bison to score one of his cannon shots from distance.
I’m glad everyone’s concluded that England are better with Gerrard playing solo in the middle and Lampard on the bench. Why? Because at his age I’d rather spare Lampard the wear-and-tear of international football. I know he wants to play for his country, because Lampard’s the ultimate character guy and has a lot of pride. But for his own well-being, and for the well-being of his club, it’s better that he play fewer minutes a season. So by all means sit him down, Capello. All the better for Chelsea!
You might say that so far, this has been Chelsea’s pre-season. They haven’t yet played a strong team. That will change next week at Man City, a team that’s not conceding a lot of goals. I’m looking forward to the first true test for this exciting squad.
15. wxwax,
I agree with you in totality!
About our match yesterday:
I think we played very well but would really doubt if we haven’t gone back to Mourinho days in the second half, we didn’t show much of a desire to score more goals and virtually faded as time wore on. But i am sure that we were supposed to win this match by around 7/8 goals…aah, those sitters!
I am happy that Bruma, Zhirkov and Benny featured but i would have preferred Nico ahead of Kalou but i know Carlo have Newcastle on mind. Kalou is just a super substitute, he plays better coming off the bench!
Anyway, i can’t ask for more from Carlo. My MoTM is Mikel he is “always improving”!
One more thing, Drogba is the unselfish player, always willing to create for others. I thought that he was a midfielder! And his 360 degree turn is something sublime, also he had great touches and flicks…peerless!
Men of Blue,
1. seems fewer fans are visiting the blog
2. seems BC is much less free to write due to move to Spore and etc…
3. seems there’s less argument /
4. it the meanwhile Chelsea are playing like the Beatles and racking up consecutive hits at No.1 on the chart.
5. Essien is awesome
6. Zirkov is a bit flaky
7. Kalou is actually earning his money and improved by loads
8. Mkel has been superb
9. Ivanovic has recovered fitness and form
10. No-one in injured
11. The new Brazilian is crafty, strong for his physique, patient, level-headed and will only get better
12. The upcoming 2 games warrant more attention from the followers of this team and blog
13. Citeh had trouble even scoring against Titus ” Bumbling” Bramble so they not so big deal come this week.
14. Arsenal gotta play near perfect to win against us or even draw.
15. Playing the ManUre back four will be a pleasure for Monsiers Nico and Drpgs
16. Liverfool are 3-4 players lacking to be top 4 team.. Totenham / ‘ Arry more of a threat. Torre and Gerrads
expressions are dark and belie their managers spin …..
KTBFFH !
Oh forgot !
Ashley Cole is SUPERMAN ! but me is worried that he run outta steam !
Paulo is good … maybe Bosingwa’s return shall have us rocking on both wings
We played awesome football in the first half. Everybody played well. NOW THE REAL SEASON BEGINS.
i just saw the 1st 40 odd minutes and those wer awsum 40 minutes played by chelsea… loved DD’s passes…
BLUES ROCK..!
What a time we’re having! Winning-superb performances-players r happy-fans r happy-Ancelotti’s rotation is fantastic-youngsters r getting chances-we’re winning without even terry nd lamps in d team! Anelka did’nt even feature..!
Carlo has done a fantastic job.. Malouda at the moment is world’s best player (but the media may not recognize it, nor will the associations.. can u believe scholes got player of d month? Nyways we blues have learnt to deal with it. Dont need their recognition nor do we need referee’s help to win..
I gotta feeling.. even essien said it- this year’s gonna be special – Finally our name on the Champion’s league trophy,eh? or even the quadruple? The way it has been going, i say damn possible!!! KTBFFH !!! :)
To me what was most interesting about the Blackpool match was how easily Chelsea won despite Carlo’s squad rotation. I know Blackpool are a weak sister in the EPL. But in the first half Chelsea’s ball movement and accuracy were fantastic, despite Lampard, Terry and Anelka sitting out.
What was also interesting was how Chelsea became a bit more ragged once Blackpool started pressing in the second half. And again, there was a weak spell on defense, just like in the second half against Zilina. That’s a worrying trend, although I realize that both games were out of reach by that point and that Chelsea appeared to be relaxing a bit.
Mikel, as he’s now decided he wants to be known, had another top class match. I agree, Karma CW, he’s a great candidate for Man of the Match. He wasn’t this good last season and he lost playing time to Ballack as a result. He’s improved tremendously this campaign. Easily the most improved player on the squad so far and he seems to have matured emotionally. Again, it’s a bit like getting a valuable player on a free transfer, just like Essien.
I continue to worry about Ferreira and the defense in general. I see that Bosingwa is to play in a reserve match on Wednesday. I can’t wait for him to return. Bosinwa’s a better attacker than he is a defender, but overall he’s an upgrade over Ferreira. And I hate to say it, but if Mourinho can find value in Carvalho, why couldn’t Chelsea? Is Bruma that good? He didn’t have a chance to show much against Blackpool so to me, at least, he’s still a bit of an unknown factor. Perhaps Chelsea were saving on wages and simultaneously doing a good club servant a favor by letting Carvalho play out his career at Madrid?
To his credit, Alex seems to have improved his game this season. He’s made fewer mistakes, so far. He lends a pleasant solidity and reliability at the back, just what you want in a central defender. But somewhere back there, there’s confusion and miscommunication at times. I wonder where it’s coming from?
The match commentator said Anelka, Sturridge and Kakuta were held out Saturday so that they could play Wednesday against Newcastle. I guess that means Kakuta will play a full 90 minutes? It will be interesting to see if this electric player can maintain his energy and aggression for a full match. I’ll be trying to watch that match on the internet, hope the feed doesn’t freeze when the ball’s at his feet! Will we also see extended time for Bruma, van Aanholt and Josh McEachran? Hope so.
Well done Chelsea fc on your consistent performance. cheers!

BC/Karma,
Before I start shooting on how flop Turnbull is turning out to be or Sturridge successful replacement on our previous Kalouless (whom having a superb season so far but injured tonight), I need to highlight the invasion of BCShout site by some college users (suspected from the US) to use it as personal chat site. And it did get kind of ugly with “*” filling in for those banned words. Will hope that the admin can look into either proper login or with standby mods around to restore. These invaders are using it regularly especially during our non-matchday timeslot. I know BCshout is an additional feature by BC and should not really become a burden to maintain but users like myself, appreciate it highly and its hurting to see it being abuse so easily. Please help needed.

On to our amazing 3-3 comeback only to lose at 4-3 Carling Cup tie. Well, these are my thoughts:
1) Turnbull is not Chelsea material and I cannot see him improving enough to be our second keeper.
2) Bruma is not ready to play against big physical attackers. He need more guidance.
3) Zhirkov is best at left wing and shall stay there, central role is too much for him.
4) Ramires is good at holding but when move forward, his passes is kind of wild. Need more time with Essien.
5) Van Aanholt is doing a Glen Johnson at the moment, get moving forward but not 100% at home to defend.
6) Sturridge, Sturridge…. sturridge, completely colourless, wasteful and clumsy. Running around without clear direction, I’ll be on his back this season as I believe he got potential to be good.
7) John McEachran, he is the FUTURE… everything about him is looking worldclass potential at 17! Hope he picks up as much as possible from Frank. Kakuta had his moments but nothing to shout for, but I have high hopes too on Gael.
8) Anelka was class again in his own style.
So we lost Kalou and Yossi, most likely for both Man City and Arsenal encounter. Lets see how the team reacts although most main players can only feel this defeat from the sideline. Treble is still on the paper…. so c’mon CHELSEA!!! KTBFFH.
Sell Turbull , he is worse than Fabianski or Kuzzak ..
Last year we lost to Blackburn in Carling cup and again lost to City away.. Hope we better that this year..
Well what a match it was yesterday —
Here are some of my thoughts and some thoughts which probably would/should have come in in the players minds..
Shola “i love turnbull” Ameobi – I wish all keepers were like him … “sigh”
Nicolas “one man army” Anelka – I so so wish Drog and flo were here… we wud have torn them apart…
Paulo”I wont pass to a blue shirt” Ferriera – So THIS is what i gotta do the captain’s armband…. hmmm…
Salomon “could my cloths get any tighter” kalou – Uggghhhh.. another pull….now who will finish off those lovely assists from drog
Ramires( where was I) – May b i shud start playin more often than i fall down….
Josh “wonderkid” Mceachran – Why the heck didnt i come on earlier….
Jonas “could i …get more irritating” gutierrez – If only rugby was more popular in argentina.. i wudnt be stuck here nudging people around..who keep running behing this spherical thing…
Fabricio ” worst hair-do of the world award” collocini – If only i cud weave my hair around these forwards… they wudnt be able to see anything for the next few minutes and wouldnt be able to smell anything for the next few hours…
Carlo “Origina Prankster” Ancellotti – Thank god we are outta this cup…..what ws the name.. Carling cup.. was it..?
Ross “I wish i never left boro” Turnbull – yay…i won… i won… i conceded more than the kid in other post who has jus hit puberty 6 mins before the match stared…..
@ Gipsy blue,u got everything spot on.Turnbull is an accident waiting to happen,he s clueless and his positioning is nothing to rwrite home about.i doubt he can ever improve CHELSEA LEVEL…HE SHOULD BE OFF BY JANUARY or SHOULD BE RELEASED ONCE HIS CONTRACT IS UP.
JOSH is WORLD CLASS,AT HIS AGE IN SUCH A GAME WITH SUCH COMPOSURE….HE CAN ONLY GET BETTER AND BETTER.
DANIEL WAS WASTEFUL LAST NIGHT..HE CAN DO BETTER.
BRUMA WAS SHAKY,NEEDS CONFIDENCE
LIKE TFO SAID…”DISAPPONMENT BUT NO REGRETS.” CHELSEA SHOWED FIGHTING SPIRIT TILL THE END,BLUES FOR LIFE.
Saw the game last night , and let anyone come back and tell me Ferreira is Chelsea material. How he has managed to stay in the team for so long , i will never know. Shocking display from him. Let me tell u folks, i follow the junior blues a lot on Chelsea TV (It’s fantastic and i recommend all u die hards should get it), and i have been telling anybody who would listen that Ross Turnbull is a mistake. When he is in the post all the opposition need to do is hit the target and a goal will b scored against us. The problem with last nights match was that there was no one to win the ball back when the opposition had it. Carlo should have played one of Essien or Mikel cos Ramires was the only one in centre who could tackle. They backed off from newcastle all night. their equaliser was just pathetic. The palyer with the ball was allowed so much time to bring the ball forward for close to 40 yards. take 3 touches , steady himself, and whip in a cross. That was just galling. All this happened at the side being defended by Ferreira. Once u give a player so much space to pick out a cross u r asking for trouble. Force him to take u on and then prove urself. Ferreira always seem to hide in matches yet they play him all the time. He was also responsible for the third goal giving away a dreadful pass to the opposition.
Danny Sturridge needs to learn the game isn’t abt him but abt the team. It seems all the praises has gone to his head and wouldn’t pass the ball to anybody but pop shots from impossible angles. He was a huge disappointment last night. Jeff Bruma was overwhelmed by the occassion last night, which makes me wonder whether he may need to go out on loan. Cos his confidence was zero last night. The Bruma i know is a calm, wily defender who reads the game brilliantly and has a wicked free kick on him. Last night he was all over the place. Perhaps he needs more games but i think tonight he didn’t give Carlo enough to play him in the Cups. Cos in the cup competition, lose once and u r out.
Now to the positives, and i was vindicated on young Josh McEachran. The lad is a genius in the making. For an English lad, he never ceases to amaze me. His touch and close control is simply superb and he proved he has the temperament for the big stage too. I think with last night’s performance he has jumped ahead of all the academy lads. His prefered position is in the centre.
Nico Anelka also had a fantastic game, he single handedly got us into the game and kudos to him. When the first team is around him our game is so much better with him in it.
So i guess this will be Turnbull and Hilario’s last season with us. We can find a better, young English keeper than Turnbull. He does nothing in the post, just stands and concedes silly goals. Let’s pray Cech doesn’t get injured leat our season goes up in flames and u know the British press r waiting for that moment.

Agreed!
We do have a young keeper in Matej Delac on loan.he really looks like the real deal.
Josh was outstanding last night. We were basically playing 4-2-3 for the last half hour and with Ramires tiring,it was Josh all alone in the center of midfield.his preferred position is in the hole just behind the strikers, but as he said in the interview to chelseatv,he doesnt mind playing anywhere on the pitch.
