Feels like defeat, doesn’t it? We’re 4 under par! On a serious note, you can’t score 6 goals every match, can you? Frankly, we’re all a bit spoiled by generous goal serving by the Chelsea team. What else would you say when a comfortable 2-0 win has a tinge of disappointment, not from a performance point of view but from the goal tally. One thing’s for sure. The premier league goals record made by Chelsea last season is under serious threat from Chelsea themselves. There is no other premier league team that is as free scoring as Chelsea at the moment. In all this flurry of goals, what should not escape the attention is that we are not conceding. There’s no Carvalho but still we’re not conceding.
I must say Stoke City made it a bit difficult for us. Home or away, Stoke City are always a tough customer with their physical style of play and their determination. I think the Chelsea players would admit that breaking down Stoke City wasn’t easy. Lampard’s missed penalty only strengthened Stoke City’s resolve. Had Lamps scored that, it might have opened the floodgates, but he didn’t.
It wasn’t a good match for Lampard. I don’t know if because he wasn’t playing well he missed the penalty or because he missed the penalty he didn’t play well. Very clearly, ever since he missed the penalty, Lampard was not getting involved in the playmaking. Probably he felt guilty for missing the penalty and hence was trying hard to score a goal. He was playing almost as the second striker while he was really missed in the midfield, which didn’t help in Chelsea creating goalscoring opportunities. I was mightily pleased when Carlo subbed Lampard. It’s not a familiar sight to see Lampard being subbed off but he was in pain and had to leave the pitch in order not to aggravate it.
Lampard will undergo a hernia surgery (like Drogba did last month) this week which will mean he does not have to join the England national team. The next premier league match is only on 11-Sep against his ex-club West Ham. There’s also a possibility that he could miss that match but we’ve got Ramires up and running. He played for about 10 minutes and I think he did well. He was intelligent in his movements, he covered the spaces nicely though we didn’t really see a surging run or a crunching tackle or a deadly pass from him. Like Yossi in the match against West Brom, Ramires was just moving around on the pitch understanding how the game flows.
Nicolas Anelka, for me, was the man of the match. The man’s made a 180-degree turn since his initial days at Chelsea. It’s not often I say that Nico’s work rate on the pitch was top class. He was fighting for every ball in his vicinity. He put pressure, he tackled, he won balls and he never gave up. Two thumbs up for Nico. Brilliant performance. Malouda’s scoring spree continues and this time to the courtesy of a lovely ball from John Terry! I think the real on-the-pitch architect behind Chelsea raking up 100+ goals last season was Malouda. It was his goals, assists, manoeuvres that were a useful addition to the usual Chelsea attacks contributed and scored by Drogba and Lampard. I’d put my money on Malouda getting 20 goals this season.
International break ahead. No real football until 11-Sep. This would still be a busy period for me as I’ve just moved to Singapore on a short term basis. It’s been a couple of days now and I’m settling down nicely. New place, new work, and new people to work with is always going to be interesting. Meanwhile, we’re nearing the climax of the two football gaming titles this season. Both PES 2011 and FIFA 11 would be released in early October. You know that I’m a big Pro Evo fan though I play both these series. PES 2011 is shaping up very well. It looks and plays so good that I just simply can’t wait.
That’s it for now. Catch you later!

Nice post as usual BC, cudn’t agree more, besides one fact, Ramires only played 10 mins at max, not 30, i think u’ve mistaken him for Kalou, and even kalou played no more then 25 mins. But I agree with the fact that Ramires in those 10 mins was just trying to find his feet and get a feel of the game. Lampz had a poor game but the guy was suffering from a hernia problem and yet soldiered on for 70 mins, thats pure class from a top class player!! KTBFFH
good that player like drogba essien lampard terry anelka will be resting their muscles and not going for internationals only malouda kalou obi and samba boys are away .this break is welcome
yea chelsea fc is da best
although we couldnt score 6, 3 pts is also guud
well maluda is da best, lampard flopped, drogba could av got a goal from open play when the ball crossed to him but headed it straight to da keeper, a.cole could have got 2 goals, one very early in da game da other clipped the bar
well we are da best
4.1 stars in dat match

You’re right mate. That was a typo. 10 minutes indeed. Noted and corrected. Thanks mate.
fatastic from my beloved blues i love all of my players i pray we retain the league.
well done michael essien, john obi mikel, most powerful drogba thank you malouda.
I love you all.
Abel robison
About our match this is my first time i have seen Lampsy perform so badly, may be it is the injury or Beakley! I wanted him to be off at HT but he played for 70 long minutes!
I feel sad for Benayoun, he is so modest and wouldn’t mind if he doesn’t even get to play as substitute. I would have brought him on for Nico!
And Ramires started his match, may we all see more action from him!
Cech seems indecisive in leaving his goal line!
Malouda who is more of a left-footed player had scored 4 goals in 3 matches, and all 4 with his right foot!
I love this fact!
Anyway, lets all hope that Terry and Lampsy would be ready to face citeh! Thank God for the international break, this could be the first time that i am pleased with such a break!
CHELSEA!
Last day of the transfer window !!! waiting for some pleasant surprises. Hope we land Neymar !!!!
Last day of the transfer window !!! waiting for some pleasant surprises. Hope we land Neymar !!!!
I highly doubt that, as far as i see it, were done in the transfer market, if there was sumthin on the cards, we would of atleast had a sniff in the papers by now. Carlo has been true to his word and i don’t think we will see someone come in before the deadline, though the possibility of someone going out is more likely. Im a little dissapointed, as i don’t think we have a strong enough squad to compete for Champions League, but in Carlo we trust …. KTBFFH
So there we have it, the transfer window has closed and Carlo has been true to his word, no more signings for the blues. Di Santo on the other hand has joined the Lactics (Wigan) on a 3 year deal, although i wanted the lad to become a household name and make it big in our colours, it was evident that he was never going to impress Carlo, so in all fairness im happy that he will see some regular football from now on, here’s hoping some of our youngsters do the same aswell this season in our colours …. KTBFFH
i think carlo might sign 1 or 2 in january especially defender but for now it is ok hopefully injury freee to key players and more of kakuta
i think carlo might sign 1 or 2 in january especially defender but for now it is ok hopefully injury freee to key players and more of kakuta
i dont think so except there are serious injuries…cos there are no good players in january,I think the bottom line is that Roman is not investing much in chelseafc anymore cos he wants chelsea to be self sufficient..Hope we win the champions league some day..But I felt we should hv invested atleast in one quality signing to add to our squad but lets hope we do well.I think carlo does not want too much pressure that is why he is not spending at chelsea cos to whom much is given much is expected…
Hello fellow blues, it was a numbing game to watch against Stoke, we came out fine but it wasn’t a vintage performance. It is however refreshing to note that even though we didn’t particularly play our best football we still dominated the game. People, Stamford Bridge is feared again. Stoke could have have taken the game to us, like they have done over the years. However, telling the world they played 3-4-3 they were actually setup as 5-4-1 with five in defence. We will still face tougher opponents though and we must be prepared.
If you guys watch the games we lost last season, you could clearly see the frustration suffered from some referees. I always say these two always go out of their way to frustrate us. Phil Dowd and Mike Dean. Watch out for these two. Phil Dowd more so than anyone else. Then comes Mark Clattenburg. BC i hope u watch out for these referees these season especially in our away matches. I hope u check on our away loses and see how many we’ve had Phil Dowd as the man in the middle.
Back to the game though, I think Mikel has started the season brilliantly and long may it continue. I have been his critic over the years and i am first to admit he has greatly improved so far this season. Well done lad! Though i think the return of Essien and the purchase of Ramires has something to do with it.
The squad looks thin, but there’s some freshness about it. Touch wood, we avoid any long term injuries especially in the goalkeeping department. I believe Carlo didn’t get one cos Delac will come next season and Hilario can leave.
BC, What do u make of the TxiQui Bergistain story. What would that mean for Frank Arneson? Despite all the vitriol thrown his way by some Blues fans, i think Frank has done relatively well. I appreciate his work cos i follow the junior Blues a lot. They are just not ready yet, but a few will break out this season and yes I have said it here and will say it again, Kakuta is that good. Hoping for the best this season. KTBFFH
We should have gone for Vandervart.. Spur got a good cheap signing..
The squad size is 21..

I am frustrated that Jose sold VDV to tots, but i know spurs is not going to worry us because they will so much be lost in their tryst in CL matches…if at all i am worried only by two mancs!
VDV is injury prone and we are still unsure how he will adapt.
I like our squad we’re not in any danger when other clubs point out we aren’t making new John Terry’s and we can always buy homegrown if we have to.
We didn’t play our best. But atleast we put in a decent performance. We are on track to win the premier league. cheers!
Liverpool released Lari Dalle Valle to Fulham? Who ever made that decision is absolutley nuts. I think konchesky will help loserpool but to released two promising youngsters and pay a premium fo 29 year old Konchesky is a bit much. I hope Frank Arneson is monitoring the situation. Dalle Valle is cast in the mould of Torres. I hope we get him someday as he is on the fulham road. KTBFFH
We played well, but one thing always kicking my mind, WHY ANCELOTTY NOT MAKING EARLY SUBS I MEAN EARLY IN 2ND HALF…? THIS MATCH EVERY BLUE WERE WAITING FOR RAMIRES … M ALWAYS WORRIED ABT IT.. PLZ CARLO DO SOMETHING… FAITH ON U.

abby,
I agree with you. Lampsy deserved to be off at HT but may be the boss wanted to see if he can change his performance in the 2nd half, but 10 minutes is more than enough to assess that and Lampsy really deserved to be off at not later than hours’s mark.
Benny didn’t even feature, i would have pulled Essien back at Mikel while Benny comes in for Lampsy. And Ramires can come at 70th minute to replace Nico while Benny moves on the right flank! (quite puzzling now ;))
Before the season started i raised the issue of Ferreira and the right back position. Now i see it’s a major concern for Blues all over. Ferreira is not Chelsea standard and i am sure most ppl here agree. He’s just lucky he is in a good team. He gets skinned by even average players. He was dire against West Brom and even stoke. I hope Bosingwa and Ivanovic make quick recoveries soon.
But Ferreira is so modest and doesn’t make a noise even if he is left on the bench for months! And he doesn’t mind deputising for the likes of Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Ashley and Zhirkov! But yes he is not as good as these 4 but the difference is he does his best when he is called on and keeps mum when he doesn’t get to play. We won’t get third choice defender at his caliber and modesty. This is just my view!
So you are saying cos he doesn’t complain u r happy if he comes on every other ten games even if u think he’s poor. We may lose a game with his poor performance and that my friend, may just cost us a league title (we won the last one by a point). The guy looks like a teenager meeting a girl for the first time every time he plays. He is a nervous wreck. No confidence whatsoever. I hope he does well but i am not so sure abt him. Nothing personal , we all want the best for our beloved CFC.
rmb ferriera is in the porto champions league winning team…i think he may nt be as gdas the other defenders but he can at least provide sufficient cover…he’s versatile and he work hard
MatBlue,
I can understand that you are worried about our defence, about his performance and it is good that we share our concern(s). But let us hope that Bosingwa-Ivaovic will cover the right while Ahsley-Zhirkov takes teh left and if you think Ferreira isn’t that reliable then we have Aanholt too. And i am sure that all the defenders wouldn’t be injured at the same time. Yes, i wasn;’t comfortable seeing Ferreira in place of Ivanovic last weekend but i think he was as bad as you describe (a teenage guy’s debut meeting with a gal).
I am not happy that he doesn’t complain, i am happy because he will feature only rarely and he wouldn’t be as bad as against Stoke.
Happy weekend :)
This one is funny but nice:

Sad news from a former (however short) blue.

I wish him swift recovery!
Guys, looks like we get Mike Dean again at West Ham. I have raised this before ,seems no one has taken notice. Anyone remember Lamps taking a penalty 3 times?
Be warned guys, I just hope it doesn’t rain in London on saturday. KTBFFH
MatBlue,
I hope we don’t, this guy is a Chelsea-hater! I tried to google but i think match referees haven’t been confirmed as yet. Having said that i think we are going to be too strong for marsh men!
Carlo Ancelotti aims to manage Chelsea for the next 25 years………………….

Common CARLO win everything………………Blues all the way…………….
33. ARAbLuEs,
He also said that one day Terry will be the manager and Ashley the assistant; i think “25 years” was a joke, i think he will one day manage Italia team!
