Big day ahead! If you read the English press, you might be forced to believe that the England national team is in a massive crisis. There’s been too much written and said about England’s performance in the last . . er . . 2 matches. This is not being looked at as two bad matches. But if the world cup itself lasts for 7 matches for the finalist, playing badly in 2 matches is quite a proportion. Anyways, in summary, England has played poorly, probably very poorly, in this world cup so far and they need to win the next one to stay in the world cup.
What’s more disgusting that England’s football is the English journalism. I must say that the behaviour of the English press is sickening. They seem so excited with England’s failure than they might feel with England’s success. At the end of the Algeria match, some of the press people might have pumped their fist saying ‘yesss’. See, as I said, it’s clear that England played poorly. And it is fine if the English press criticise England’s performance. It’s gone beyond that. There’s so much fiction and fantasy about what could have caused this instead of proper constructive criticism and proper theories of what could work going forward.
England had a fantastic qualifying campaign. I knew that Capello would make a difference to England but I was still surprised at how England breezed through the qualifiers. They even had a sweet revenge with a 5-1 win over Croatia. It was not without a reason that England had very favourable odds to be world champions, before the tournament began. Capello sacked Terry as captain and that was welcomed by the press (it was more like engineered by the press). When Capello announced his squad, it was welcomed by the press. So, up until the start of the tournament, it was all fine. In the eyes of the fourth estate, Capello was the kind of disciplinarian, tactical master that this England team needed.
As soon as England drew two matches, all hell has broken loose. Unfortunately, there was a dire need to find some scapegoat – Capello, Rooney, Lampard, Heskey, Green – as you see, the press wanted a scapegoat in flesh. The pool of players from which the squad was picked, was poor. That wasn’t a good scapegoat. There are hardly any good, skillful ball players in England. The football training structure or the playing style in England does not reward that kind of play, hence you don’t get those kind of players. That wasn’t a scapegoat.
The FIFA world player of the year is being awarded since 1991. There is not even ONE player from England that has become a world player of the year. Premier league is the richest in the world but England could not produce one world player of the year in two decades? In the last 30 years only once an English player has won the European player of the year (Ballon ‘d Or). Shouldn’t this be the talking point? This is all very fundamental. This is not something Fabio Capello can change overnight. It is the FA that needs to act and not Fabio Capello. But still, the papers are all about Capello, Heskey, Green, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard etc.
Just when the press has created a national uproar over England’s performance, FA organised a press conference to calm the nerves. You had every goddamn press reporter over there just waiting to insult whoever is gonna be behind the mike. So gets behind the mike? Super captain Stevie Me? Nah, he is not the one for close range, he is more like a 40-yard man, isn’t he? Who else then, the most expensive England manager Fabio Capello? Nope. It is the ousted captain John Terry who walks in and dares to speak. I was mightily impressed with John Terry’s interview. He was clear, he was honest and he was confident. It was FA’s idea to get John Terry speak. There was an FA representative sitting right next to him all along.
The key message from Terry’s interview was that (i) they are all together and fully behind the manager (ii) the team recognizes that the performance so far has been poor (iii) they are focussing completely on the Slovenia match and (iv) they are 100% confident of progressing to the next round. Instead, what the press including BBC picked up from the interview was totally different. That’s sad. In most cases, he was responding to questions. He was asked about Joe Cole, so he responded and I think his response was spot on. Yes, Joe Cole and Rooney are more skillful so they can unlock defences. And yes, if he has a problem he will speak to the manager. I thought Terry’s interview was very positive.
The whole battery of journalists were expecting something very spicy. So it didn’t matter what message Terry was trying to convey. They just twisted the whole interview to the stories that they wanted to write and debate. The column by Phil McNulty, Chief Sports Editor of BBC, was really disgraceful. Having listened to the whole 15-min interview, I was astonished at the way McNulty described the whole interview and had woven a pre-meditated story. It’s very sad especially because it’s the BBC and not The Sun or The Daily Mail. Finally, the journalists succeeded in making a traitor out of Terry who’s trying to arrange a coup while all he was trying to do was to exude confidence and provide assurance.
The next day, there was another press conference. Still no signs of Captain Stevie Me. It had to be another Chelsea player to come on. Vice captain Frank Lampard came on to reiterate that there are no problems in the English camp. Lampard’s interview was also brilliant. I like the way he supported Terry’s message. He almost said ‘are you all idiots, don’t you understand what he was trying to say’.
John spoke from the heart and we should be thankful there are players who speak that way. That [headlines on Terry being a traitor] couldn’t be further from the truth. I don’t see anyone here trying to win the World Cup and representing your country can be branded a ‘traitor’. Some people won’t say too much. Others want to hit things head on. The message I had was that John was saying some very positive things. John spoke honestly about wanting us to turn this around and move on. John is very tough. I am sure he was pissed off with the headlines and he will react in the right way.
There wasn’t a rebel gang. It’s the only way I’ve known a team be able to recover from results. If people just go to their rooms and don’t talk, how are you supposed to sit down and say: ‘What about when you did this or could you not have done better there?’ That’s completely normal. The fact it’s actually become a ‘rebel’ thing baffles me, really. It’s good to talk, to get problems out in the open.
What he [Terry] said was right. Wayne and Joe have that special ability. I’m sure if you want John to speak about Steven Gerrard or Aaron Lennon, then he’ll tell you they can unlock defences. Players aren’t that sensitive. I wasn’t knocking John’s door down and saying: ‘Are you saying I can’t unlock a defence?’ I didn’t take any offence. Technically he is very good and he brings that little bit of magic to the table.
Top class response from Super Frankie Lampard. He’s telling the journos to ‘GROW UP!’
I might have said this a million times and I would keep saying this – this English press is sickening. It’s all turning out to be absolutely baseless stories, fantasies, fictions, information from ‘close sources’, information from ‘insiders’ etc. There are hardly any quality articles or debates. There is a mad rush to print scoop that sells. These journalists have no moral ground to talk lowly of England’s performance. I’m sure articles would be ready for an England elimination. It is at least to silence these idiots, I want England to win on Wednesday and progress further.
England for the win. Whether England wins or not, I’ll be pleased if the unwanted focus moves away from the players and coach while the real issues are addressed. I’m very clear in my mind that the England players and the coach are not the real issues. The real issues are far more fundamental and deep rooted. It may not be very sensational as John Terry sleeping with his colleague’s ex-wife, but it might add some value in improving the condition of the game in England. England for a 3-0 win.

I am backing all the england’s players to show their hungry for the world cup,and i am expecting to see a change for their next game, it is shame for the three lions to be defeated in group stage.
Great one BC!
That wanker Phil of BBC is a Chelsea hater, i have read numerous anti-Chelsea articles by him. England hates Chelsea and Terry is a Chelsea hero, so these headless English cannot see Terry other than being a Chelsea. I am sure, the English press would prefer a 0:11 bashing than a victory tonight so that they can all attack Terry.
Terry was spot on and he has proved a better manager than that Italian shithead. May be even i am better than capello because i would obviously choose Joey ahead of a mega-lipped kid! SWP reminds me of ‘Shawn the sheep’!
Terry is the best and Lampsy got it on that Italian’s head, on the British media’s head!
The Sun and Dailymail are semi-porn websites!
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/oliver-holt/Oliver-Holt-Column-John-Terry-s-no-traitor-he-s-one-of-England-s-last-hopes-at-this-World-Cup-article487109.html
Simply true, simply awesome, i cannot agree more!
Agree with every single word that u’ve written BC.The English media really needs to grow up.
Top stuff, BC. I will never be able to understand the anti – Chelsea bias that exists among 90 % of football supporters and journalists. Not that it stops us from ramming it all back down their throats by winning the Double :D
I small gripe though : John Terru slept with an ex-colleague’s ex-girlfriend, not wife.
great performance from Chelsea Captain! without his ranting ENgland would not have qualified for group of 16!
This has been one of the most competative World Cup finals I have ever seen. England should look at the other matches to realise this fact. cheers!
Bravo BC… after reading your article, I felt somehow… ‘justified’ for my harsh words on those Terry/Chelsea haters.
A good performance tonight but the finishing was still awful. I was about to question Capello’s guts to relief Rooney but eventually he did… with Joey but the final 25 minutes did not help Joe’s cause when he was partnering Defoe. John Terry was outstanding, he did not need motivation to motivate his surroundings. Even Upson got a bit of boost in the final 10 minutes and its definitely inspired by the ex-captain’s heroic throughout the match.
Considering all the fiasco around England’s camp, I think Quarterfinals will be the par line for England and if they manage to defy the odds, then it will be an early X’mas for London. I’ll be still rooting for any team with Chelsea’s players in them.
guys did you see terry through his body on the ground to try and block that ball!!! thats the spirit of our chelsea captain.
and thats why I personally need Ozil at chelsea guys!!!
Great matches today, watched early games at a bar in Fells Point (Baltimore). The England fans were all over my usual bar Slainte’ so we went to Max’s, (all USA fans) The place just exploded when Donovan scored our goal in the 91st minute. I even made friends with a Liverpool fan who was a good fellow (and a USA fan too). So, England get Germany and USA get Ghana. USA owes Ghana a payback from 2006 WC, a dubious call cost us a penalty and a red card and we lost it 2-1.
Joe
@blueyank
fells point that’s so sick. I’m from the county and Slainte is a great atmosphere. are you part of the new AO chapter that opened up there?
and to all England supporters. sorry guys, you’ve got Germany. better luck in brazil 14.
Chelsea really should look into Michael Bradley as a long term replacement for Essien. his distribution is very good, and at 22 he will continue to improve for several years. either way I think he’s better than Mikel.
Terry is the true leader, his performance and talking says it all.
I think Germany vs England would be a great game and i am with Germans provided Ozil come to us. I think i fnacy Kampsy, Terry and Ashley, so i will side with English.
I would have picked Johnson ahead of Lennon, Bent ahead of Heskey, Young ahead of SWP and Agbonlahor ahead of Crouch.
JT is a born leader. He cannot keep quiet when he senses that things are not going the right way. Even his pre-match ranting made capello give his fullest for this match. And during the game Terry gave his heart and soul to win this game. Once he even launched himself to block the ball and he came twice near scoring goals. Terry can inspire a team to win, and people must concede that when Terry was a captain England played their best football. But he´ll remain a virtual captain in England squad anyway. And Lamps deserves a praise for believing in Terry.

And now Capello must apologise to Terry for the wrong accusation! But at least Capello came to senses fast enough!

what a game denmark versus japan has been.
I have quite a few england gripes but ill simplify
I dont like Capello, I don’t rate Capello. All I’ve been asking since day one is, what has he changed?
As far as I’m concerned, we have become so reserved, our formation and line up hasn’t changed if we’re being honest.
I felt That England looked much more competitive and competent in the Mc Claren days…. and he didn’t have a clue at times!!!!
Capello uses practially all the same players as McClaren, the 4-4-2 with two slightly restricted central midfielders and a striker ‘in the hole’ has been our formation for far too many years. Yeah we miss silky players, but we can easily develop them as such. Even saying that, I don’t agree with Capello’s team selection. Why take a striker that can’t score? a defender that notoriously does not track his man back like he should? Make the most inconsistent defender your captain and play lampard and gerrard in the middle together when all we ever see is proof that the england team isn’t set up for them to do it. Granted there have been some suck ass injuries and ting, but I know, if I was in Fabio’s shoes, I would have done things differently. Don’t change players, make a system that utilises the best players to their optimum while not harming anyone else. Capello also peeved me off by taking Ferdinand on the plane but no doubt, his system thrives on rooney playing in the pocket outside the box and gerrard playing off the edge of his left. Rooney scored his goals at the front of a trio, so put him at the front of the attack. Gerrard has been thriving by playing behind a lone striker, put him in an advanced position. He got it right negating Lampard because Lampard can pick out killer passes from great distance and makes tackles. He however is not a powerhouse and needs such a player beside him. Barry is not the answer although he merits a place in the squad. Hargeaves and Huddlestone are the only guys that filled the bill, but he opted for Carrick? Why? Please explain that to me Capello you nutter.
Capello has installed a controlled mentality in the squad. The players like to fight for the ball, they like beautiful play, they can do it. We have become predictable. Ever so apparent against algeria, players dont just get marked, they were pressured into positions that they couldnt handle and England couldn’t quite come through. Some players tried to add that extra bit of sparkle, but it wasn’t happening. I watch englandplay, i see players that dont look up when they cross, who dont attempt to move foward when they gain possession in space……so much wrong in that squad. I think if Capello changes player placement a little, we should be more comfortable.
England aside, I think David Silva would be a good signing and another left footer is always good. It is good that amidst contract disputes, Anelka will be with us a bit longer, i quote ‘stability is key’. Im not happy about Joey leaving, I would like to think he could of carried Lampard’s position if needed and that a right winger is ideal. I think James Milner wouldn’t be a bad purchase but a central midfielder would be best in my eyes. I hear Yaya toure could be available this summer
18. trueplatinum,
Capello got his squad wrong, so with a wrong squad how can a team be right? Look at my comment at 12 (above), the problem is he is not English! I want my manager to be someone who can proudly sing the national anthem prior to kickoff, but in that case, even rooney cannot sing it, while Terry was almost shouting the anthem with excitement and passiona dn love, that is how a true leader is, how a true son of the country should be! If England will do well, it will all be due to Chelsea, i can bet my arse on this! But the real shit is England hates Chelsea and cannot take our heroes beyond a Chelsea player (recollect how media wrongly accused Terry for doing something which only a real man can do, a true patroit). Due to the fans and media, i have just quit following or supporting England, but my love for Chelsea players in the red will exist for ad infinitum!
Chelsea is the best and England is benefited by Chelsea!
we have to buy ozil…& check is wonder goal against ghana
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyHWxEDTrtk
That is another good point Karma. The world cup is about passion, honour, 4years of waiting to finally get out on the pitch and show everyone your mettle. Capello was brought in to install a psychology. Preferably, the manager of your national team should be a fellow countryman, shouldn’t be telling me that he’d love to see Italy in the final, are you mad fifa?
Id be happy just to see Kevin Keegan or Mark Hughes. as manager.
England shouldn’t do badly against Germany
—————–James——————-
Johnson—-Terry—-Dawson—-A.Cole
——Lampard————Barry———-
Milner———–Gerrard————J.Cole
——————Rooney——————-
Germany don’ have players in the same class as ours, but they have guys that efficient and are very good with their actual talents. I.e. Podolski is by no means a top scorer, but he has alot of speed with the ball and a vicious shot. The Germans are very smooth right now and quite silky on the pitch. But that would be the line up I’d be looking to try out, possibly switching to 4-3-3 as Germany’s defenders aren’t the greatest as a unit
Karma, you also raised another good poin mate. Chelsea have been fuelling England for too long. At one point, I think we were contributing 6 players to the national squad. Even now, its still four. Man utd only managed to get two people on the plane in the first place.
There is all this moaning about how poor the team is. Chelsea, Tottenham and Villa are the only teams doing anything about it it seems
Micheal Ballack has just signed a 2 year contract with Bayer Leverkusen … Here’s wishing our German masestro the best of luck in the future … Always a Legend, Always A Hero, Always Blue, Here’s wishing farewell to a Chelsea Son!!
@trueplatinum.
no they shouldnt do too badly. but they will go to penalties. capello released his list of penalty takers.
1. lampard – excellent penalty taker, but he missed against man city, portsmouth, and japan.
2. gerrard – good penalty taker
3. rooney – i know that everyone says that rooney has calmed down, but after 120 minutes against germany? not sure.
4. ashley cole – scored his penalty against man utd in moscow.
5. john terry – so much pressure as the 5th taker, so much pressure that its germany, so much pressure to avenge his miss in moscow. sorry but i just dont think that he can take it.
and seeing as that podolski missed the first german penalty since 1974, i wouldnt rely on the germans missing.
england 2-2 germany, germany wins the shootout and is subsequently elimanted by argentina.
*in the unlikely event that the three lions find a way to beat the germans, they face argentina in the quarter finals. i just dont see it happening
TruePlatinum,
I would rather put Upson instead of Dawson, courtesy to Upson’s performance against Slovenia!
Yeah i agree with you on how much Chelsea are contributing to teh Three Lions only to be ill-acknowledged. And few are ex-blues, like SWP and Johnson, so in fact Chelsea had done too much against highly rated (wrongly) two-penny of manure. Even Scott Parker deserves a seat ahead of Carrick, after all what had carrick done for manure?
About the WC, i was truly disappointed by teh way Brazil and Protugal played, they did a cheap thing in football to send Drogba and Co. out. Too much of brotherhood in these two cheap teams…the ugly side of football!
@KarmaCW,
well i can`t agree with U. I saw it as a very lively game….look to the number of cards the referee gave.
Portugal played well and BR could have done more…but still lokked very dangerous.
@ Churchill, What is the AO chapter?
The USA went out today largely due to two very poor decisions by the manager Bob Bradley. He started R. Clark in midfield and withing 5 minutes he gave a goal to Ghana, this player has repeatedly proved he does not belong on the field at this level. Also, he started R. Findley (who cannot finish) who blew a big chance just before half. Good luck to Ghana against Uruguay. I think Germany will finish off the poor English and Argentina will take care of the horrible Mexicans.
Joe
So today’s game comes a little to early for some of us. I particularly feel a game like England vs Germany should be a semi-final or a quarter-final clash at least. It would be sad that one of these teams would have to go at such an early stage of the World Cup.
Both these teams are diametrically opposite to each other. While England have star names and famous faces, they lack team work and efficiency. The Germans, on the other hand, do not have big names as such but work together as such a complete, inter-dependant unit that it is hard to see any team get past them on their day.
That said, I think England do have the potential to beat Germany but only if they click. They need Rooney to get back his Manchester United form back as soon as possible and put A.Cole and G.Johnson’s marauding runs to good use. However, if they fail to do this, Germany will run riot.
3-1 to the Germans. Ozil is just too hot to handle.
KTBFFH !!
C’MON ENGLAND
england down 4-1. Would have kept defoe on and brought in crouch for a midfielder .. why does capello bring in heskey who doesn’t even start for villa.. if he brings best out of rooney.. then he would have start.. england football team is like indian cricket team.. No expectation, they perform.. else they collapse..
England lose.. No chemistry and useless Milner wandering around the pitch..
Everyone were staying behind Germany’s defence as like they’re afraid to take the pass..
wondering what TheSun would write about the three lions tomorrow……”The three kitties?”
At the very crucial moment where England was getting back into the match by Lampards fantastic goal, a fucking linesman fucks it all up. FIFA please it’s time to join the 21st century, at least get goal line technology.
However Germany was weltklasse, but could the game have turned out differently had Lampards goal stood?????
@Dana,
I doubt it Dana. Lampsy attempt was the last serious real attempt England have had. And even after 2 – 1 it was Germany who created more chances for goals. So England lost today simply because they were no match to Die Mannschaft!
It will be wonderful if we can have Ozil and Schweinsteiger among Chelsea Players for next season. They are world class players and those are the type of areas we need to strengthen. Ozil and Schweinsteige to replace Joe Cole and Ballack respectively. Chelsea are right to release Joe Cole, I think he’s past is time
I would also like to see Ozil and Hansik in the Chelsea team next season. While we can get these two players at decent prices before its to late. I know its still early days but I predicted Germany to win the World Cup in previous posts. So Germany beating England didn’t come as a surprise to me. Although it was to a few Blues fans on this blog. cheers!
Muller playing style reminds me off Ballack.. and they even have the same strip no…. 13!
3 Lambs, 3 Kittens…anyone seen it?
The overrated and over hyped English were comprehensively outplayed today by the Germans. FIFA do need to incorporate technology for “matters of fact” as the Lampard no call goal killed any chance they had of a comeback. The team were psychologically not able to recover from that blow. Argentina wiped out Mexico setting up a delicious encounter with Germany next Saturday.
Joe
Guess who the ref was in this disallowed goal?

Why don’t we try to buy Robin Van Persie for around about GBP 30m. Think about it. cheers!
my scouting has brought me across Sandro Wagner…..the next big thing!!
Di Maria had joined Real, better because it is not manure!
Please don’t buy overrated Milner.. he could’nt complete passes
cmon chelsea,get gd players…get silva,aguero/torres,kaka/ozil,srna
The World Cup has been good from the neutrals point of view. Now starts the real battle from the quarter finals.
Only disappointment now is that no Chelsea player is involved in the World Cup now.All of them had an early exit.
Ballack could have been in the German squad but you can say fate ruled him out.He might be unlucky if Germany eventually win the World Cup.
But anyways I hope Germany does win the World Cup.It would be for the good.Argentina dont impress me much,
I want to see them trail and see their response in that situation.
Coming to Chelsea, there has been zero activity in the transfer market. But if David Silva is moving, I think he will come for Chelsea if Chelsea bid for him. Heard he told City officials to wait. Seems that Chelsea is his favoured destination. But again we know what happened with Robinho transfer. This time Man U will come in between.
The squad seems to be deteriorating I think.Departure of some players is ineveitable.Ancelotti needs to but some experienced players.
I think he is perhaps demanding too much fomr the academy players to fill big boots.
Just hoping for the best.
Cheers guys!!
Silva had joined citeh, i am flabbergasted …. what do you guys think about this?
I am not at all surprised about silva joining city……..
I have been saying this since a very long time that chelsea do not have the desire, sporting ambition or the financials to compete with the likes of other clubs….
There is surely something wrong at this club somewhere……days of chelsea glory are all but over……i dunt see this chelsea side wiining the title again in the next decade or so…
city is the new sensation of the EPL….
there will be few additions for sure. but new financial regulations are making things a bit complicated and it will take time before we find right players with right price.

I beg to differ from this, if Chelsea didnt have the desire they never would have won the league after all that happened with Terry off the field with the ACN and with Essien our best player injured for 60% of the season.
We have the desire passion and hunger to win more and keep what is rightfully ours. Citeh may have billions to spend but Mancini is not a two time champions league winner like Jose or Carlo, that is the biggest difference between chelsea and citeh.
The Uefa fair play rules state state that a club can only spend the money the club has earned, this is the last season in which you will see crazy spending by any team.
A team that finished 5th is not a sensation by any stretch of imagination.

Man City have reached a deal to sign David Silva, it’s official … “sigh” there goes another player out of our reach, only last week Silva was talkin about playing for Chelsea … that to me said, he was trying not to move to Man City and Chelsea instead but Chelsea being Chelsea … we are always slow when it comes to these players and full credit to Man City they have a world class player on their hands and come next season I see them doing a double over us again!!
So Silva Joins City, Di Maria joins Real, Marek Hamsik will stay with Napoli, Joe Cole has left us and now Ashely Cole has said how he hates England and is being targeted by a certain Mr. Mourinho at Real Madrid, a club anyone will join without a question. So on behalf of every blues fan …. Bravo Chelsea, yet another season gone without getting any decent players and on top 5 players have already left or leaving the club and on top of that 2/3 youngers will also be sold and another 4/5 loaned out … at this rate forget about retaining the title for next season … I see us doing a Liverpool, I hate the fact how we are always beaten to the punch by other clubs, that’s Robinho and Silva city snatched from right under our noses, on the brighter side …. we might sign Yossi Benayoun hahahahaha what a freakin joke!!!
If we keep on buying big players then i´m sure our academy players will never get a chance to promote to 1st team. may be Carlo wants to give more chances to Kakuta, borini, matej, bruma…..I´m positive about these buddies. they play better than those overrated players. I trust our academy.

Yeah agreed…
Besides, David Silva has signed Man City
its sad to say that as much as i love chelsea i fckin hate our transfer policies and hw fckin slow we are! we aint getting any player in and m sure tht we will retain the same old really old squad….remember hw carlo worked with old players……he loves em!
m sry but i have to vent out i love the club way too much to see whts gng on i hope they read this blog or amongst us there is someone somewhr who can convey this across to the ppl tht matter at chelsea FC! :(
KTBFFH! :(
Man City have reached a deal to sign David Silva, it’s official … “sigh” there goes another player out of our reach, only last week Silva was talkin about playing for Chelsea … that to me said, he was trying not to move to Man City and Chelsea instead but Chelsea being Chelsea … we are always slow when it comes to these players and full credit to Man City they have a world class player on their hands and come next season I see them doing a double over us again!!
Bravo Chelsea, yet another season gone without getting any decent players and on top 5 players have already left or leaving the club and on top of that 2/3 youngers will also be sold and another 4/5 loaned out … at this rate forget about retaining the title for next season … I see us doing a Liverpool, I hate the fact how we are always beaten to the punch by other clubs, that’s Robinho and Silva city snatched from right under our noses, on the brighter side …. we might sign Yossi Benayoun hahahahaha what a freakin joke!!!
sad to say but ur right as rain JAZ.
but i pray ur wrong and we sign: OZIL, SUAREZ AND BASTIAN, or VDV, Afalley, TORRES…lol
Tony Pulis said that all the managers are neck deep in the transfer market but just waiting for the world cup to end. Carlo might drop a bombshell by signing Pastore from palermo or Oezil who might end up as brilliant as Kaka for Milan.
We just need to be patient, we have uptill September to sign a few players.
Honestly look at how you blind fans are squirming! Look how much tasting your own medicine hurts and confuses you! One of you is actually saying they’re looking forward to the FIFA financial regulations kicking in!
And a fifth place loser club doesn’t worry some of you? Well it should! You were that fifth place loser club yourselves! And soon enough you’ll be back there where you belong when Manchester City go on to dominate. PREPARE NOW, it will happen to them just like it happened to you.
Your fooling yourselves by thinking Chelsea should be getting all the top players instead because your Chelsea and they’re Manchester City.
All you have is your chairmans money, your exactly the same as them. In fact your smaller than them, their dad’s bullying your dad right before your eyes. Every single player you want will be priced out of the market by Manchester City and you will be powerless. Trophies and playing with “world cup legends” like Lampard Drogba and Terry won’t help. It didn’t help Man United, Liverpool or Arsenal so it certainly won’t help Chelsea. And Roman can’t help either, he’s not stupid enough to bankrupt himself trying to compete with someone far richer, thats why your not spending. Theres nothing wrong with him or the club, thats just the way it is, your powerless like all the other clubs were when Roman first joined. In the near future you will probably have to bring through your own youth and suffer the frustration of that. And you won’t think its fair. And Roman won’t either but hopefully he won’t get bored and leave. Either way if there is a positive its that hopefully it can give you a bit of perspective and help you understand why everyone else hates Chelsea so much and you will probably become better fans for it.

Dunt get so excited about a few transfers to your beloved city you moron……thats what is the problem with you city supporters..u guys think from your ass……sure u guys beat us to acquire the services of robinho…..but what did he do…..he kicked your ass (and he is still kicking it…..and will continue to do so even when the jabulani tires him…lol)….so thinking from a player and a financial perspective it was just a disaster…..
so what makes you believe that silva transfer will not be disaster either……sure u guys have the dosh but will always be lame in the brain…..and thats what is the difference between us being the EPL champions and you people just being a bunch of pretenders just the way you even were last year….we know how to spend our money wisely and not foolishly…..
Atleast I can proudly say that chelsea is the best club in london and england, unlike you guys who are not even the best club in manchester, let alone being the best club in england……lol
I’m sick of the fickle nature of some of our fans. The club knows what it’s doing. You don’t go around running to the press when you have an interest in a player. It’s not like if Carlo is looking at signing Aguero, he’ll call a press conference and say ‘Oh I want Aguero.’ That’s what fucking tabloids do. They speculate. How do you know we won’t sign anyone? How do you know we don’t have deals wrapped up already? What is we’re not announcing deals because of the WC? We have till August 31 to sign players. That’s 2 months. This isn’t Football Manager. Let’s behave like mature people and wait for the good news to come along.
All clubs will do transfers after the world cup including chelsea
All clubs will do transfers after the world cup including chelseafc

I hate it, and as much as I want to deny it, I think you might be right. I don’t think that Chelsea’s decline will begin for a few seasons though. Chelsea has enough quality players still to stay competitive, but with City dominating the transfer market, we will be unable to replace quality with quality. Chelsea will still be an excellent team, but our dominance over the Premiership will soon be gone. By spending money on players who can come in and perform immediately rather than investing in youth, we have won championships, but we have doomed ourselves for the future.
@ A taste of your own medicine:
I´m sure it will be fun to see Man city having all the best players of the world with the highest ever salaries and still not competing in the CL!!!
We´ve heard this shit you are telling since past 8 years. We have seen Manures trying to compete us and ending up with 1 billion pounds debt. We have seen Arsenal telling every season that they will win this team but failing miserably everytime. we have seen liverpool falling back to crumbles. We have seem portsmouth gone bankrupt. But Chelsea is the only club at the top which has not only financially strong background with zero debts but also has just won an EPL title and a FA cup. On the paper you guys already have had a better squad than us last season, but what did you win? a quintle of nothing!!! I´m sure within few years we´ll see that Sheikh´ll lose interest in football and built a drilling station at your football pitch instead in hope of finding some oil for all the money he invested out there.

57. A taste of your own medicine,
This is not a place for you to try to give your two-penny! Go to where you best belong: the fifth (filth) place, you are too little too cheap to be among the double winners!
And yes do not whine if that sheikh drills your arse for oil after finding no oil in the stadium!
@karma, lol! :D
Bad news .. Ozil is going to Barca :-(
Why don’t we buy Robin Van Persie for around GBP 30m. He would look nice in a blue shirt. Just as nice as Fernando Torres who would love to play with a bunch of winners like Chelsea. He would also look nice in a blue shirt. I’m sure the players will come if the and only if the price is right. cheers!
Hahaha I hope we can still buy Ozil. cheers!
Bad news .. Ozil is going to Barca :-(
I agree completely, There’s point in us simulating the various speculations on the transfer market. The tabloids are doing that already and 99.9 % is usually pure rubbish.
I too have full confidence in what managerial decisions our club is making. Just wait and see.
Lastly if everybody didn’t already know The Mirror has made it completely clear where it stands in regards to Chelsea. Just read this short extract;
“Ashley Cole is 1-3 favourite to be voted Britain’s most-hated man and that’s a huge surprise – I thought he’d be a lot shorter than that. He laughed at a £55,000-a-week salary, he cheated on the nation’s sweetheart, and then he admitted he hates the English.
What’s worse, he plays for Chelsea. To be 1-3 favourite in a field that presumably includes Piers Morgan, David Cameron and me takes some doing.
Women hate Cole because he did the dirty on Cheryl; men hate Cole because he did the dirty with Cheryl.”
Please boycott that shitty tabloid.
….there’s no point in ….. was what I meant.
I have full confidence in Ancelotti. Nub fans need to realise that just by tapping in on class players doesnt make a great signing. Remember Shevchenko?
Anyways, we also know that the World Cup just jacks up the transfer market, linking every player to every other club. Best option is to wait and watch.
Having said that, I definitely wouldnt mind selling Terry. He was a class player, served us well, but after the horrid night in Moscow, and the huge *demand* for an increased salary so that he wont consider Citeh’s offer, I dont like him anymore. The whole of the last 2 seasons are a nightmare, he was saved because of Riccy in ’08, and Ivanovic in ’09. If we sell him, we can get pretty decent young talent (ie. atleast 3 youngsters) which will help the future of the squad, instead of tapping up already big stars. Eg. Alan Dzagoev.
As for who would be captain? IMO, Lampard has always been the true Mr. Chelsea, even with his demeanor, and performance. Not mention he doesnt cry on losing a penalty, or shout at the ref’s face when 3 clear penalties aren’t given. That shows character and awesomeness.
Anyways, its just my 2p. All in all, these nubs should trust the manager. He didnt mould the squad to win the title by magic. 9.9
I agree with you Danablue. Cashely Cole is rubbish!! Send him to Real Madrid please Mr. Jose Mourinho. We don’t want cheaters in our club. We can buy Gareth Bale instead. cheers!

You are a very brave man thewisecrab criticizing “The Untouchable”, but I completely agree with you. JT has been a fantastic man for Chelsea for many years and I am very grateful for that. However I think it’s time for JT to move on, get a reality check and end his career somewhere else with dignity. If he continues the way he does off the field with one PR disaster after the other, then I’m afraid he will self-destruct also on the field. Mertesacker from Germany would be a great player for us and a potential “new JT”. Dzagoev an interesting player as well. And what about Sergio Ramos?
woah people do you know what your saying (not about terry) but about Ashley. Fuck me he’s easily the best LWB in the world and that’s without the blue-tinted glasses. Who can replace such a core player and how much money will it take???

oh and ozil said he would like to play in england, and said he like what ballack achieved with chelsea!!
77. Michael,
Yet again you make me doubt the truthfulness of your Chelseaness!
Guys, i would be happy as long as we get Ozil.
