In Retrospection
I know this little write up is not worthy to be an article in here, and not literally ‘retrospective’. But as a break from the INs and OUTs discussion that is going hot in here, I thought this article would give us a chance to reflect back on the season which brought beer smells at work on Mondays!
It all started with Drogba’s and ended with Ashley Cole’s goal! We know Drogba would score anytime, anywhere but who would have imagined that Ashley would seal our successful season? But I know now that Chelsea fans aren’t surprised that Ashley actually did it. His ‘goal of the season’ award is an understatement of the season that he just had!
Here are some of the significant Chelsea goals of 2009-10 season in EPL:
• Drogba’s last gasp winning goal against Hull City;
• Terry’s header against manure;
• Ashley’s assist at Fly Emirates fetching Drogba’s awesome finish
• Joey’s priceless back slip against manure!
And some of the significant non-Chelsea goals of 2009-10 season in EPL:
• Agbonlahor’s goal against manure at OT;
• Gosling and Rodwell’s against manure.
Wonderful sights:
• Zhirkov’s heroics against Bolton;
• Drogba’s ‘impossible’ touch setting up for Kalou is a sight that will remain forever!
• Toni Poole and Terry posing for the camera with their twins;
• Carlo running the trophy with Malouda;
Torturous sights:
• Midget hunt (the cruel man of football) scoring the first gaol against us in 2009-10 season;
• Lampsy having told to take a penalty 3 times by Mike Dean against WHU;
• British media making too BIG of Terry’s scandal;
• Defeat to mancs at home (not to mention public humiliation of Terry before the kickoff);
Everton:
This is the team which drew(0:0) twice with us in 2008-09 season, and robbed 5 points off us in 2009-10 season, so we must keep an eye on them in the coming season!
Avarm Grant:
I don’t know if I heard it right about Roman asking Avarm Grant to be the Director of Football again at Chelsea. Just remember that he was the Director of Football and Jose left, he was also the Director of Football at Pompeys and Paul Hart was sacked. This man is not healthy, I am sure on it!
Tony Pulis on Stoke’s humiliating 7-0 defeat by Chelsea.
“They were far the better team, we were lucky to get nil. We had our pants pulled down and our backsides slapped.”
Guys, you can add yours now.

It looks like it’s going to be another dissapointing transfer market for Chelsea, Barcelona want £25M for Yaya Toure, which should never happen, even if Chelsea were 100% committed to buying him. Atletico have raised Aguero’s value to £77M, which by all means is way too much for any player, so he’s off the radar aswell. Pato and Torres are fully committed to their respected clubs. Modric will be offered another deal to keep him at Spurs aswell. Which leaves us with speculation of buying players like Benayoun and Mascherano and some other players no one has ever heard of, well looks like its gonna be one dull summer transfer market again. Im not suggesting we spend a £100M and bring in a whole new squad, but after 4 years im sure were atleast entitled to 1 player who is able to spark the Premier League and give Chelsea that something extra, some agility, guile, flair, charisma, personality, which we so desperately lack at times.
i think its gud fro chelsea.. as they can get as many youngsters as possible..
Why do we look at clubs like RM, Barca, Atletico for players? The guys we get there are branded players and they´ll be expensive. You don´t send scouts to spot talent in such clubs!!! We should be looking at clubs with lesser reputation. so may be Liverpool? ;D.
Guys watch Jose Cry:

Cfc, Karma meant the EPL started with Didier’s freekick and ended with Ashley’s volley, in terms of full season, it all started with Carvalho’s header against Man Utd in the community sheild and ended with Drogba’s freekick against Pompey.
hey karma thanx for da pics man.they r reali lovly.wish i was thr…
hey karma…i want to upload my pic here.how du i du dat? u ll love to c me in chelsea colours….any 1 hu knows pls help
I still say that we should go for Fernando Torres for round about £40m. And if we can’t get him then we should go for Karim Benzema for round about the same amount of money £40m. Chelsea is a huge european club and we could get players easily from the smaller clubs who have debt to pay off and are struggling to survive. Having said that we should’nt be intimadated by clubs such as Arsenal, AC Milan and Real Madrid etc. We’ve had this heavyweight status for a while now and should go in for their players if the right player comes along. cheers!!
Another thing I would like to add is that I agree with what Bluegenes had to say yesterday. One reason why Liverpool fc was so dominant over Chelsea fc in the UEFA Champions League was that Chelsea fc were competing on all three fronts where Liverpool knew that they could not win the Barclay’s FA Premier League and soley focused on winning the UEFA Champions League. Where as Chelsea fc were stretched man wise trying to keep tired legs fresh. cheers!!

I feel your pain JAZ… ! it sucks.. i have been feeling the same for a long time.. but there are reasonable players o0n the market.. just that chelsea is super slow…. now we have a better reason to look at HIGUAIN. but there has to been tones of reasonable young players out there, but we dont go for them. .. i dont know why
key moments for me
Didier’s freekick against Arsenal at emirates
Didier’s freekick againt po0mey at Wembly
how can i get videos of the parade and epl celebration
Didier’s supper control… then pass the kalou.
Good news for you guys. I´m quitting as a Chelsea fan! Have fun buddies!
Since this year is seen as somewhat not buying Chelsea… SHIT,DAMN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
incredible season. I had given up after seeing TSO win at his stadium stamford bridge. But wat a comeback for the boys we shot ourselves so many times in the foot we need more life in the team. Torres would be a great addition.
@Karma
Good points mate. I would like to add one to wonderful sights. Rednose’ grim looks even though winning the Stoke match.
@Bluegenes
WTF ?
Did you guys see how well Robin Van Persie played against Mexico. I think Manchester United should have bought him instead of buying Dietmar Berbatov. Maybe this is our chance to swoop in on Robin Van Persie and offer him a contract around about £150.000 per week. We could buy him for round about £30m. cheers!!

7. cfc,
Yes, actually i am talking about the EPL, but you are right as well since i said “season” and not “epl season”. Thank you for the correction anyway.
8. Jaz,
You got it spot on!
10. Pauly,
I am glad you liked the photos, about anything you want to do in here please contact the CEO at blogger@bluechampions.com

14. BlueGenes,
You must be kidding but i think you might be a Real fan now!
17. chelsito,
Yes indeed so true, but i think it was rather purple than red!
20. DanaBlue,
I am glad that i could click your memory buttons. It is sad about Essien but i think he will be fine by August 2010, that is all it matters to us!

Since last few months my attachment for Chelsea has been degrading, and now i´ve come to find out that everything has changed, fans, clubs, everything. There is no more humility in Chelsea fans, they even have started to despise their own legends. thats the worst thing for me.
I´ll watch Chelsea and Jose closely. But i was and will be Frankfurter Eintracht fan.
Quoting BlueGenes
BlueGenes, what makes you think we’ve begun to doubt our legends ? I think we all still respect John Terry and hold players such as him and Frank Lampard in the highest order ! Jose was a special manager and we all still like him very much, in one way or another. Even King Carlo knows that !
The only reason we say we must say goodbye to players such as Carvalho, Belletti, Hilario, Deco, P. Ferreira is so that we can give an opportunity to some of our young talents in the Academy such as Jan Sebek, Rhys Taylor, Gael Kakuta, Miroslav Stoch, Patrick Van Aanholt, Jeffery Bruma, Sam Hutchinson, Jacoba Sala, Dan Strurridge and the like.
KTBFFH !!
i am not talking about the players who are going to leave. i know the players you mentioned above are going to leave and we need to get new blood. thats not the problem for me.
BUt i have got a feeling now that many “chelsea fans” would even start to hate Zola if he were to take over some other team like lets say Porto and knock us out of CL next season. Thats the mentality i don´t like. People lose respect for their legends, and its really a sick mentality. This has started to grow a lot in last few months. And i cannot be a part of this community. May be i´ll find some other Chelsea fan site and continue supporting Chelsea. But as for this site, i think my time is coming slowly to an end.
any decent suggestions pals?

I have to completely disagree with you BlueGene.We are proud of our History,Respect our Legends,Cheer our present bunch and look forward to seeing the future generation of Blues.

and take for example what Karma said: “You must be a real fan now.”
I´ve been active in this blog since it started, supporting Chelsea, and i´ve been here through good and bad times. And as i announced my departure this guy even doesn´t hesitate to tell me that i´ll be a Real fan now. how things change.
Quoting BlueGenes
Dear brother,
I didn’t mean it as heavily as it fell on you, but i just thought that you wanted certain kind of love or attention from the kindred spirits. Because unless you want to start something hot in here, why would you say about leaving Chelsea without anyone provoking or forcing you? A fan is a fan unconditionally! I do not mean that you are not one, i know you have Chelsea in your blood, in your heart, it is just that you have noticed something unlikely (Since last few months my attachment for Chelsea has been degrading, and now i´ve come to find out that everything has changed, fans, clubs, everything. There is no more humility in Chelsea fans, they even have started to despise their own legends. thats the worst thing for me.) which none of us had.
I know you admire Jose, so do i, but i find endless reasons to sing of Chelsea than to sing a single song about a man who was once a Chelsea. I know he is a legend, a hero but have we not given him due respects already? Have we not sung his name even after he left us? Have we not cried when he left us? Have we not thought that his departure was a dream, a nightmare? Have we not felt like hell without him? YES, it is a yes!
But should we now not move on and leave the past? Should we now not celebrate our good times which we got even without him? Should we not be happy for we have been sad for long after he left us? Don’t we all deserve it?
OR
Should we just go on singing and praising someone who had brought us happiness years back and overlook our own recent happiness, a success? We can sing of our past, but we have all the more reasons to sing of the present, and TSO is not the present!
Cheers!
Happy weekend…i will see you on Monday!
I´ve said again and again I love Carlo and he´s the best guy to lead us in present.
I just wish Jose´s name to be taken with respect everytime we talk about him. People don´t need to sing his praise for what he has done for in the past. But I was shocked to see people didn´t even want to congratulate him on his CL success this year. Instead i saw their hatred towards him and some even started to bring out the past events where he had failed. Thats not the culture i expected from the blue fans. And it made me think where the hell i´ve been all this time.
Quoting BlueGenes
we still love jose very much but chelsea is club i will always support i wanted inter to win champs league and they did thats after chelsea elimination
Quoting BlueGenes
BlueGenes people do take Jose’s name with respect, you don’t have to be a Chelsea fan to appreciate Mourinho, my friend’s who support Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barca, Milan …. each and every one of them has only positive things to say about Jose. We all know he is a great manager and a success story where ever he goes, the man is a true legend no doubt about it.
But where the line does need to be drawn, is where Mourinho becomes this egotistical human being who cant see the world beyond his own shadow, the man might be great, but he has no humility, he can’t digest anyone’s success besides his own and that’s exactly what ticked off a few fans on this site including me. The reason i had a go at Jose was because after a historic Chelsea double, he comes out and says the league is weaker, Chelsea didn’t play any big teams and they crawled their way to the titles.
Well that’s exactly where he’s wrong, the premier league has become much more competitve and smaller teams are harder to beat now then they were a few years ago. All the teams, even the one’s getting relegated are well equipped to topple the top teams. I don’t have to go that far to remind everyone Pompey beat Liverpool 2-0 this season and we had to give it all to beat them 1-0 at Wembley. So when Mourinho comes out and downplays our acheivements, thats what pisses me off the most, the guy might be a legend but he is not bigger than the club, no one is. Im sorry if my words hurt your feelings, but i will never put anyone above Chelsea, no matter what.
Jose won the Serie A, a much weaker league with 82 points, a 5th Serie A title in a row for Inter, ask yourself how hard can a league be where even Mancini wins the title 3 times in a row?? We won EPL, the hardest league on the planet with 86 points, scored a record 103 goals, were labelled the great entertainers, beat the top 4 home and away and yet only won the league by a single point, so draw your own conclusion, is Serie A or EPL the harder title to win??
Just because Jose’s Inter beat Chelsea in the UCL over 2 legs don’t mean were nothing compared to Jose and he is still the top dog and we should bow down to the master. The fact remains that if anything, luck heavily favoured Inter, 2 stonewall penalties turned down over the 2 legs vs Chelsea, an offside goal against Barca, a disallowed goal in the 2nd game against Barca which by all means was a fair goal and should have stood. Countless fouls by Walter Samuel and Lucio, went unpunished, now you tell me, was it down right hard work that won them the CL or was it countless mistakes made by the ref’s and a lot of luck that won Jose the title. I have nothing against the man, i want to clear that out once and for all, i am a great admirer oh his abilities, he’s a legend and will shoot Real towards glory aswell no doubt about it, but again none of that makes him bigger then CHELSEA, and CHELSEA is the club i support and love, far more then TSO.

I think, I have made clear as to how much I respect Jose. But I don’t think you can read out my last quoted comment with the same affection as I do otherwise how could you even think of writhing this
Quoting BlueGenes
Dear BlueGenes, I have actually been really disturbed since reading that you are finished with Chelsea. I think you are seriously overreacting. Everybody here at this site love TSO and respect him for what he did for us and how he is doing well for others. I have not read any messages here stating unwillingness to congratulate TSO with his CL victory for Inter. I actually posted a well done message straight after the last kick of the ball in the CL final.
The reason why I think a lot of us are upsetting you is that you misunderstand why we want to let go of TSO. I personally think that a lot of time when Chelsea are doing really well or really bad, it constantly surfaces that TSO would have done this and that differently. It’s like comparing your current girlfriend to your ex-girlfriend in every single aspect of behaviour. At some stage she will explode and ask the question; “do you want me or you ex??? make your mind up”.
I sincerely hope that you will reconsider your decision, as I’m sure I’m not the only one here that will miss you badly.
You have probably seen my comment in BC Huddle expressing my confussion over your decision. “You can change your socks, underwear, car, house and wife, but never ever can you change your football team” I’m sure you deep down feel the same way.

this 2 are facts !!!!
About this Joe cole issue why is it that we never arrived into what we want to do with him .To me it seems there is contraditions about his contract issue.Let look at it now before he came back to England squad He made this team late when he hit the form.No hope to south africa until the friendly between England and Japan.He came in second. half and make use of the chance .From this because of his long injury and lack of playing time there is drop in his form .Now he is back.Chelsea should should try no to lose him.Where are the players to buy now.The concerned club were putin high prices on their players .An adage says a bird in hand is better than two in the bush.The UEFA financials policy is about three years time.If Joe cole is not good why is MAN U,Arsenal,Tottenham,Man city all wants to sign him .Take note and on free transfer.This salary is demanding your rivals are ready to offer him and still get him on free transfer and you will not get any financial uplift from the deal.If you want to get a player like him High contract papers and salary and may be bigger than the amount to use to retain Joe cole.Look at this if you give him the pay he is bound to justify the pay by training hard and repay back to what is earning to be frank he has chelsea in his blood.Even Capello said in statement after England vs Japan match that Joe cole is back.I want the CHELSEA MANAGEMENT and the coaches to arrive at best conclusion to favoured the club and advised the ROMAN about the best way for this chelsea joe cole conclusion. Please look at Arjen Robben today now was chelsea right to have lose him.
