I know it’s bit too delayed for a match reaction post. I just couldn’t find time to write a blog. Anyway, that was a great match. On Saturday, Man Utd had just beaten Tottenham. That was supposed to be their biggest hurdle of their run-in. And they won it with a two-goal margin. That meant Chelsea had to beat Stoke. Some thought that the goal difference didn’t matter so much because as long as we win our matches, we will be champions. But Chelsea had other ideas.
Much has been said about Chelsea’s third 7-goal haul by Chelsea in this year, after 104 years not having scored 7 in a match. The fact that Chelsea has scored 7 goals in a match thrice in a few months shows how much this team has improved under Ancelotti. Whether Ancelotti wins the league or not, whether he wins the FA Cup or not, I cannot deny the fact that the team has certainly improved under him.
Against Stoke, we had several great performances. But the man of the match for me was Super Frankie Lampard. His performance was just sublime. He was creative, he was box-to-box and he was playing like it was some training match. His penalty was brilliant. If you’ve been following his penalties this season, his penalties have just been top class. It’s good from a world cup point of view because I don’t see England avoiding a penalty shootout if they are to progress. Even otherwise, I’m pretty pleased with the assurance with which he smashes his penalties.
And then, his second goal should contest for the goal of the season contests. Traditionally, all your goal of the season contests are heavily biased with the long range efforts. I agree these 40-yarders are pretty difficult to pull off but they are also 70:30 on luck and skills respectively while the close range finishes such as the second goal from Lampard are very high on skill. When Lampard scored a blinder against Barcelona at Nou Camp couple of years back, I had written that Lampard was not getting enough credit for his efforts. I’m saying it again. If that goal was scored by a Xavi or an Iniesta or a Messi, you’d have the whole world raving about it. But since it’s Chelsea’s Lampard, no one’s even talking about it for the second time.
The mystery of Kalou continues. He has this knack of playing like a complete novice one day and coming up with some crucial goal the other day. He manages to maintain this inconsistency so consistently. In a barrage of goals, it was strange to see that Drogba couldn’t find one but he was immense too.
Under the circumstances, it was a fantastic performance from Chelsea. If we had finished a little better, we could have had a record scoreline like 10-0 or 11-0. When Man Utd beat Tottenham, the momentum was certainly with them. While a 1-0 or 2-0 win from Chelsea would have retained our one-point lead, only a big win like the 7-0 win could have recaptured the momentum from Man Utd. That’s what happened exactly. As Chelsea demolished Stoke, the confidence of the team has absolutely skyrocketed. Also, with fewer games to go and with a smaller lead, the goal difference does have a value.
I heard some people saying that this league would not be decided on goal difference anymore. That’s wrong. There is indeed a possibility. If Chelsea draw both their matches and if Man Utd win one and lose one, the points will be tied. In this scenario, Chelsea will be champions on goal difference. There is also another possibility that’s not widely expected or even discussed.
If Man Utd lose to Sunderland on Saturday, a Chelsea win on Sunday would clinch the title for the Blues at Anfield. So, Chelsea can win the title with a game to spare if Sunderland beat Man Utd. Do I expect Sunderland to beat Man Utd? Nope. Why? Steve Bruce is from Ferguson’s school. Expect him to completely surrender to Ferguson and lay a red carpet for them to start their procession. After the match, he might probably talk about what a great manager Fergie is and that Man Utd can be deserving champions. Disgusting. There are a bunch of such british managers who love the idea of succumbing to Man Utd. Yo Steve Bruce, prove me wrong!
As I’m typing this, Inter have eliminated Barca from the champions league at the Nou Camp. Barca got their usual quota of support from the referee but still The Special One held out with a 10-man Inter against a 11-man Barca in front of 100,000 catalans. I can’t tell you how much I love this result. I take this as a sweet revenge on Barca by TSO on behalf of ‘his boys’ at Chelsea. In the recent times, when Barca won the champions league in 05-06, Shevchenko’s goal in the semi-final was atrociously ruled out and the equaliser Barca scored against Arsenal in the final in the 76th minute was offside. They won it though. In 08-09, the semi-final against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge – need I say more?
Let me end this blog with the funniest picture of the night. You may not see this picture anywhere else because I had taken this picture myself by pausing the action on the TV, especially for you. That was of Sergio Busquets falling down like he was shot by a missile, rolling on the pitch clutching his face and cunningly peeping out to see what’s happening outside with a ‘has the ref sent him off’ kind of look. He is either a complete idiot or a cheeky bastard – probably both.
By the way, I remember Lionel Messi doing this to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and he got Del Horno sent off. That runs in the catalan blood probably. Hello Barca! You are NOT going to MADRID! Wow! I feel so better now :-)
Back to Chelsea, here’s to Steve Bruce proving that he is not the step son of Fergie. Sunderland to beat Man Utd (Darren Bent! Darren Bent!) and Chelsea to beat Liverpool at Anfield. Chelsea to win the title this Sunday. Cheers!

As expected barca players play acting as usual. Academy award to Sergio.
Thank you Jose, that was kinda of a revenge for last years semi final. Bye Bye barca
JOSE MOURINHOOO LA LA LA LA LA!!
What a great result! Must Celebrate for Mourinho and Revenge!!
The Special one proved that in football there is only one special one,Inter played kind of like Chelsea played last year with barca at camp nou. guardiola proved that he has no sense of coaching, the substitution’s were awful-changing ibra with bojan ????? what a stupid decision, and what was that jefere. GUARDIOLA=EPIC FAIL
FCUK YOU BARCA

That sums it up.
You just cant have an Ovrebo every game, and mind you, they are still in debt…
Nice one BC,
Lampard is simply the best and he is happy with the fact that Chelsea fans acknowledge his skills, brilliance and performance, he just shows his middle finger to the rest of the world because they deserve it. I still cannot find a reason why he is not in the PFA list!
I agree that Kalou’s inconsistent is very consistent! But he proved me wrong because i always believed and say that he does best coming off from the bench!
Drogba didn’t score but he made lots of goals for others, his magical touch is straight from the God of football! And I fancy that Drogba will score 2 or more goals and grab the golden boot away from that….!
I will reproduce my comment in the earlier post here, please answer me.
I still wonder how did Malouda manage to miss that sitter; it instantaneously reminded me of Redknapp’s comment on Darren Bent and did you guys notice that although we were leading the score by a huge margin Malouda wasn’t at all happy until he scored! Is this good for the team? Is it good for himself?
Oh YES, i am so happy that barks are out, deservedly! They neither had that norwegian retard nor any Oscar award for bush-quites! But guys never forget how Motta acted so well against us, so may be it is just a treat for us from the God of football!
And guys, bald-ass was celebrating along with Jose and Inter…so sweet!
Chelsea is the best and TSO is the best and will remain so unless he returns to the helm of one of our rivals in EPL!
BREAKING NEWS:
One retard is crying blood in some unnamed cold region of the Norwegian alps! He started to cry some 10 hours back! The satellite TV zoomed on him, he was in supine position and in grievous pain; over his bare chest read “INGEN GJENOPPSTANDELSE”
INGEN GJENOPPSTANDELSE”
which means NO RESURRECTION

Well said, Karma. Barca & Motta deserved it. Sadly, Barca didn’t have any complaints today. Guys is there any chance Biscuits facing a ban for play acting. Err…. sorry forgot there are different set of rules for Uefa’s love-child ‘Barcelona’.
@BC
Are you playing à la Rednose on Steve Bruce? Lol.
Thats a tad harsh mate, since he has already taken 2 pts from Manutd (atleast 2 more than their arch rivals mancity) this season. Infact, Bruce while generously handing us 6 pts did say in his post match briefings that the team doing better than us will win the PL.
And Manutd play Sunderland on Sunday not on saturday and after our match. So the only thing that should bother us are the Liverpool team and that part of the Anfield crowd wishing them to win, which I believe would be in minority.
Hey all..
As usual..great article BC.. and awesome pic of “BusHquits”… hehe… Lolz..
About..lampsy…you jus cannot praise the guy enough….but in the hindsight….i do not mind the low-profile tht lampsy can maintain in spite of being among the top league of players… simply coz… if he is not appreciated for his grt effort by neutrals or by pschyco journos… it jus says tht expectations frm him are lower on him than on the likes of Xavi or Iniesta…or someone else… although we as fans expect a good performance from him week-in and week-out….thats ok.. coz we are the fans..and thts wot motivated the players to perform….so all in all.. i like thee way the media and so called experts treat and rate lampsy’s performances..coz he proves them wrong over and over and over and over…… and over again. :)
summary of an interview of Frank Lampard that I read sometime bac…..
“I was planning to join Jose at Inter… and had a talk with my father about it.. and he pointed out how the fans were chanting my name after winning FA cup against Everton… thats when i decided that i coudnt leave chelsea”
I did it on the online translator with the English words “No Comeback” after barks’ “remuntada” meaning comeback!
biscuits or bushquits or bushkids will obviously be saved because he is not a Chelsea player!

But there is a chance that Brucie might consider this time because this game means a lot to manure than to them because they are safe from drop zone and far away from Europe. In the first leg, Brucie didn’t consider because back then every point mattered but now things are clear and it says that 3 points for Sunderland don’t make a difference. So, may be on this point our BC meant to say that Brucie might favour his old boss.

And on your comment about Brucie and red nose.

Barca again tried their all to win this game playing volleyballs, Jim Carrey, ROwan Atkinson, and even managed to get Motta away (Nice pic BC). That Bushy-kid should have beed sent off for that play of act. But at the end of the day ref also gave one correct decision by pointing foul play at Toure handball and thus disallowing the goal. I am extremely happy that the Fcuking disgrace are out and TSO took the long standing revenge against them, from Chelsea and himself as well! Jose you are a Special One. Kudos!
Karma, looks like your PC has bungled up mate. I do get the point though :)
An article speaking about Chelsea allowing 5 academy players into the first team next year, also mentions that the youngsters would mostly be played in the Carling cup ties. FA states next year each team should play a squad with 25 players, including 8 home grown (trained in England/Wales) for 3 years before their 21st Birthday.
Following are the squads of the top 4 teams and the 8 home grown players.
Chelsea —————–Arsenal—————–Liverpool—————–Man Utd
1. Terry —————–1. Bendtner————1. Johnson—————1. Neville
2. Lampard————–2. Clichy—————2. Gerrard —————2. Ferdinand
3. Cole——————-3. Djourou————-3. Carragher————3. Brown
4. Turnbull—————4. Gibbs—————-4. Spearing————–4. Owen
5. Mancienne————5. Traore—————5. Insua——————5. Rooney
6. J.Cole—————–6. Song——————————————–6. Giggs
7. Mikel——————7. Cesc——————————————–7. Foster
8. Sturridge————-8. Walcott—————————————–8. Carrick
————————————————————————————————
————————————————————————————————
9. Cech——————-9. Sol—————— 9. Cavalieri————-9. Scholes
10. Ivanovic————–10. Senderos——— 10. Agger—————10. O’Shea
11. Alex——————-11. Vela—————11. Torres—————11. Evans
12. Zhirkov—————12. Almunia———– 12. Aurelio————- 12. Fletcher
13. Essien—————–13. Van Persie——- 13. Benayoun———–13. Gibson
14. Malouda—————14. Fabianski——— 14. Maxi—————- 14. VDS
15. Drogba—————-15. Sagna———— 15. Kuyt—————–15. Kuszczak
16. Anelka—————–16. Vermaelen—— 16. Babel————— 16. Evra
17. Bosingwa————–17. Gallas———— 17. Mascherano——– 17. Hargreaves
18. Matic——————-18. Silvestre——— 18. Lucas————— 18. Anderson
19. Kalou——————-19. Diaby———— 19. Riera————— 19. Berbatov
20. Ballack—————–20. Rosicky———- 20. Ngog—————-20. Park
21. Deco——————-21. Nasri————– 21. Reina————– 21. Vidic
22. Carvalho—————22. Arshavin——— 22. El Zhar————-22. Nani
23. Ferraira—————-23. Eboue————- 23. Skrtel————–23. Valencia
24. Hilario——————24. Eduardo———-24. Aquilani————-24. Tosic
25. Belletti—————–25. Denilson———-25. Nemeth————-25 Obertan
Took most of this from elsewhere so I can’t vouch for their accuracy but at a glance it seems quite accurate. There can be more than 8 HG players for a team in the above list.
But with Chelsea trying to include 5 academy players into the first team and sign atleast 2 star players, it becomes mandatory to sell more players. Looking at our squad, it seems that we have to sell atleast 3 players. I believe Deco, belletti, Hilario, ferreira would have to part ways in that case. If J.cole leaves or Mancienne continues with his loan spell, then 2 of our academy players shall fit into the HG player roles.
Manutd and Arsenal have many Home grown players which leaves them safe from chopping and changing. And if you people think that you have seen the worst of Liverpool, you are in for a big surprise.
7-0 is a great result, was real happy to see Sturridge score for us.
kalou didn’t exaclty score great goals, in fact, Bendtner scored a better hat trick in my opinon but that doesn’t take away from the fact he is more competent. Kalou has come through with some goals this season but he still has development to do before I think he is starting material. It is good using Kalou’s pace when he is fresh 2/3rds of the way into the game.
malouda was determined to score KarmaCW. I think you mentioned something about Drogba being the same and becoming very selfish game in game out. I don’t think that will quite happen with Malouda . It is always good for a player to look to score when they get the ball, as long as they make sure that is the bext option, if finding a pass is better because the shot isn’t there, they should do that instead.
Drogba is my wildcard for Wigan. We need him to be at peak in Anfield and hopefully he will subdue Wigan by himself in our last game.
sunderland is not going to just sucuumb BC. Bruce may be an ex utd guy (I think) but he certainly is sportsmanly. On top of that, Sunderland can score against Man Utd and seeing as they are at home, I think we are looking at a draw. We should win (with some backbreaking effort) when we play Liverpool. That scenario, would be perfect
I knew it would look like shit even after working so much on editing.
It seems I have messed up with the data part too. There is a certain B-LIST for U-21 players which has no limitations. A simple way to look at it is the main rules don’t apply to players under 21 who can still play for the club like normal. So, I think it is not necessary to put these 5 academy players in the 25 players squad. We can play them from the B-List.

….but the word resurrection gives the whole drama yesterday a more biblical sub-text, which I’m sure was the original Spanish writers intention. It was an absolute joy to see José’s celebration after crushing barcas obsession
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1269604/Barcelona-1-Inter-Milan-0-3-2-agg–Italians-reach-Champions-League-Final.html
fuck barca…. when ever Messi comes up against a good defense he cant do shit!!!
asshole busquets !!!, did u you guys see Valdez….lol fuck them.. they cant imagine our pain last year!! when we were robbed!!! now our Jose comes along and fuck them so hard…. and reminds them… remember last year…. when you werent supposed to reach the finals….lol Honestly i would have loved to see jose take chelsea “his boys” to the final…. i know he would have enjoyed it!
i have always liked bayern.. but i would like jose to win also…. this is a hard one for me… may the best side win…. jose goes up against hie mentor .. just goes to show how damn good Van Gael is! i respect dutch coaches
I enjoyed the match between Chelsea 7 – 0 Stoke City. I was surprised to see Chelsea score seven goals as their is no structure in the team. If we want to win the league there must be structure in the squad. Why settle for a 50:50 chance of winning the match. When you have a club as big as Chelsea with a spending budget as big as any big club in Europe. I said in an earlier post that we needed at least a couple of fresh faces to add something to the team. I am happy Carlo Ancelotti agrees with me! cheers!
TruePlatinum, surely you can’t take Wigan Athletic fc seriously. And Steve Bruce will instruct his men as he’ll do himself and that is roll over and die! cheers!

And the B-list doesn’t discriminate against home or foreign and can have an unlimitted number of players?
Atletico Madrid’s Argentine striker Sergio Aguero has already agreed a £40 million summer transfer move to Chelsea, according to ESPNsoccernet sources.
CAN I GET A HELL YEA PEOPLE!!!
A top Premier League manager told Soccernet of the transfer as Aguero lined up for his club in the Europa League semi-final against Liverpool and maintained that it was common knowledge within the game that the deal was on its way.
“The word is that Aguero is going to Chelsea – it’s a done deal at £40 million,” he said.
guys my plan is going to according to plan…. extra time for pool . i didnt really cared if they reached the finals or not.. but i wanted some tired legs… im glad for fulham.. their coach is doing a damn good job!
BC, i think manure plays on sunday after our game against liverpool, who i hope are deflated and tired from today ouster by Athletico madrid.
wishing all chelsea fans the best this weekend.
cheers
don’t know if liverpool result is good or bad for us .. if they would have won, benitez would have rested a few for the europa final. suprisingly , he took of benayoun and kuyt after Madrid scored for some unknown players.. Was he looking forward for chelsea game..
They are unpredictable team,, lost 2 games in a row and defeated Man U this season.
17. chelsito,
I am so sorry because my lack of knowledge in hi-tech world came through and ended up reproducing my comments. I want Hilario, Ferreira, Deco, Belletti and either Ballack or Kalou out! We will be lesser by 3 Portuguese players!
18. Trueplatinum,
Thank you for the comment and i agree with you. But Drogba seems absolutely happy when the team leads although he couldn’t score, Malouda was bit different, but yes Malouda wasn’t selfish, he was just frustrated with himself, so it seemed!
And yes Drogba should play all the remaining games so that he can get the golden boot award in his trophy cabinet!
20. DanaBlue,
The word is apt anyway. And i loved Jose’s celebration because Big-Tor(n) Bald-ass joined TSO…so cute ;)
24. Malagantz,
If true, it is a great news, and we might even think of off-loading Nico although the Monsieur had done a great job by being so modest and dynamic! I love the man.
25. denverblue,
It also happened exactly like i wished for: ’2 hours of football and lots of sweat beads and a defeat!’
27. cfc,
I think it is good for us that they lost because they are hurt and morally down and they have lots of tired legs which will take its toll this Sunday! While a win might make rafa save some players this Sunday for the final he had to play his star players for 2 hours yesterday and that is good.
Kindred spirits,
And here are my thoughts for your comments:
1. This Saturday all Mancs, Villa and Tots are going to play and the fixture favours Tots. I am sure they will win it with ease and i prefer a draw at Eastlands! Tots bagging 3 points mean that loserfools are sent even farther away from CL next season. So the result at white hart lane would do us some favours inadvertently. Anyway, we can win the remaining matches because:
CHELSEA scored 7 goals skyrocketing the morale up into the 7th heaven and maintained a clean sheet and rested for a week!
WHILE
Loserfools played for 120 minutes on Thursday and ‘won but lost’ and are morally down and above all have RAFA.
The only thing on their side is that they play at home!
And the only thing we must be cautious is not to be over-confident!
I see a happy Sunday at my door!

Exactly.
@ Karma
It sounds so good. But ultimately what matters is which chelsea team turns up at anfield; the lethargic, complacent team that played spurs or the vibrant, ambitious team that played stoke. I too am confused like cfc, about the result of the match. Now that liverpool have lost, Rafa has no silverware to show. That puts pressure on him, a possible sack. Do you think, he would like to lose 2 matches in a row and hasten the sack? Yes they are tired, but didn’t an exhausted spurs team (after an extra timed Fa cup semi) defeat Arsenal and Chelsea the same week?
Like I said above, its all on the chelsea team that turns up on sunday, wish it was the one that played Manutd at OT. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, so it is all in our heroes and i believe and know that our heroes can do it…so let us focus all on ourselves and leave the opponent in the dark! Self-belief and confidence will play a vital role! We can do it!
Guys,
Tevez wants to leave Eastlands, i have been his fan since his manure days and i would still (after his reaction against Terry’s saga) want him to join us, he would be a lot more cheaper than Aguero or Villa.
I’ve got some interesting news. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has deposed David Beckham to top France Football magazine’s list of highest – paid players. The Argentina forward is said to have made $44m last last year. Beckham who has been first or second in each of the last nine years, took home $40.5m in 2009, according to the report. Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was third with $40m, while teammate Kaka was a very distant fourth with $25m. Thiery Henry was fifth with $24m. France Football, which has ranked the best-paid players since 1999, calculated the figures based on salary and endorsements. cheers!
I enjoyed watching Jose Mourinho’s team hold on at the Camp Nou. After that ridiculous sending off. I think that Inter Milan deserved their place in the semi-finals as I doubt Chelsea could have sustained that amount of pressure. There’s two ways of looking at Jose Mourinho’s celebration. One way is that it was a bit unsporting. And other you could just see the relief that man had after winning. Giving all the praise and thanks to God Almighty. This will make for a very interesting final. I’m not saying Bayern Munich is going to win the Champions league, but they are looking like favourites to lift old “Big Ears”! cheers!
I am nervous but pretendin not be so
I am confident but also a bit more than anxious
I can hardly wait for the game but I don’t wanna see Sunday come that fast either
I don’t pray, am godless and a loud dirty-mouthed drinker to boot but need more than a pious pint to get me thru this game
I call upon the Gods of Football to :
make the Reds jelly kneed and The Blues sprightly on their journey to immortality !
I burn incenses to ward away the Red-nosed Scot Demon’s Evil Eye !
I beseech thee Sunderlanders to crack a 50 yarder freekick between van Der Sar’s legs
We all can see that Bruce prove he is loyal to his mentor. Sunderland played as if their legs are tired or were completely removed. But not withstanding, if we beat Wigan, then, surely we are the Champion.
