It’s still Chelsea’s title | The Special One tames Barca!
I’m still here at London. England have truly brought home the ashes. Was supposed to fly home last weekend but still stuck because of volcanic ash that erupted from Eyjafjallajökull (haven’t yet figured out how to pronounce this). The last few days have been incredible. It’s not fun when you’re directly affected by a headline news on BBC and CNN. I was even wondering if I can return home in the near future of if I’ve to travel to Barcelona or Milan by rail and then flying to India. Tonight, the announcement is out that the British airspace would be opened up. This still does not mean much in terms of returning home. The resumption of flight services would mean many thousands would gatecrash at the airports making the availability of tickets a very difficult task. Really hoping that my travel agent does a good job.
I couldn’t post the match reactions after the Spurs match. Apologies for that. I was trying to get to White Hart Lane to watch the match. Tickets were sold out by the time I realised that I’d stay back in the UK for the weekend due to volcanic ash disruption. Finally, I ended up watching the match in a traditional english pub. If I’ve to be honest, Spurs absolutely deserved their win. They were better than us in every single department of the game. That goal by Lampard is a not a consolation but a small step in keeping the goal difference out of reach for our rivals.
The moment I saw Phil Dowd as the referee, I knew it was going to be difficult for us. The man hates Chelsea and in particular, John Terry. He’s always been biased against us. For a referee, he loves himself too much. I think he loves to be the centre of attraction and wants to make the controversial decisions, especially against the teams that he hates. He was horrible but that’s not to take anything away from Spurs who were brilliant.
Man Utd beating City with a goal in so-called ‘Fergie time’ was very bad news for us. I was watching this match too in a pub. The manner in which City conceded the goal and the fact that the header was scored by old Scholes was just unacceptable. The led is now cut to one point. Still, we are at the driver’s seat. There’s no better place to be in the league now than leading the table. Let’s hope that Spurs do a hattrick with Man Utd after their defeats of Arsenal and Chelsea. Spurs beating Man Utd is the only thing I’d ask for next weekend. As long as Spurs beat Man Utd, I don’t mind Chelsea dropping points. Going by the current form and the fact that Gary Neville could be playing, Spurs can just murder Man Utd. I’d love to see that.
Tonight, I saw Jose Mourinho’s Inter massacre FC Barcelona. Not many teams score three goals against Barcelona (Jose’s Chelsea scored four against them though). And not many teams beat Barcelona with a two goal margin. That was a special performance by Inter. This is what I’d written after Barca’s demolition of Arsenal:
I thought Barcelona were not too good. They were made to look better by a poor and typical Arsenal performance. Barcelona are very unsure at the back. For that reason, they are certainly beatable. It would help Jose to see that Barca match at Stamford Bridge last season. Probably, any team that wants to beat Barcelona must see how we played them at the Bridge. In the recent times, in my opinion, that was the best big stage performance by any team against Barcelona.
Inter have not only proved that Barcelona are beatable but they have also exposed their weaknesses and have shown that they can be dominated. This is a game Inter must have killed off with a 4-1 or 5-1 scoreline against the defending champions and a team that won everything that was there to be won last season. I’m quite aware that Barca only needs an achievable 2-0 win at Camp Nou to go through but something tells me that this champions league belongs to The Special One. Remember the ‘connection’ I was talking about.
It’s no surprise to you that I’m rooting for Jose in the champions league. I want see his Inter knock Barcelona out and win the champions league final too. He’s beaten Chelsea and CSKA, both teams that have a Roman Abramovich connection. He now has a chance to beat Barcelona with whom he has a special connection. This could just be his season. Let’s wait and watch.
I particularly liked his comment about Barcelona players complaining about the referee. Here is Jose Mourinho at his articulate best:
I saw some things in the tunnel that already make me think what awaits me next week… What I saw was the Barcelona players who were angry with the referees, and it should be said that their memory is very short because I can’t forget that when ‘my boys’ at Chelsea were crying over Ovrebo’s refereeing in the match last year, and they were laughing, they were laughing with the referee; whereas this evening they weren’t capable of saying that they lost against a team that deserved to win. Now they cannot complain about the referee. Chelsea were put of the final that they deserved to play and the referee gave Barcelona a chance to play and win the final. Now they can’t complain.
Wow! How good is that! You all know that I’m the biggest fan of this man, Jose Mourinho. He just gets better for me. The world needs to be reminded of the injustice that happened at Stamford Bridge last season. I love it when JM does it. In fact, Milito was incorrectly called offside early in the game and his goal was offside. Plus, I don’t think Alves deserved a penalty. So, in my eyes, the referee favoured neither teams. Barcelona should realise that they are a team of mortals and they can be beaten, especially by a coach like Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea to play Stoke City this Sunday. Man Utd would have played Spurs by that time. I’m not sure if I’d be able to watch this match. Now that the British airspace is opened for commercial flights, I might have to fly any day in the next few days. If I get home by the weekend, I’ll post a pre-match blog. Otherwise, see you next week.
inter 3 barca 1,I think guys inter are will go thru,Mourinho has proved that beating chelseafc was not a fluke….
Michael, tonight you saw what a real tactical masterclass is in the barca vs inter tie
although it does have to be said, the journey beforehand can’t of helped lol
Inter was great and they overshadowed messi bringing out another weakness in barca that if messi is closed down fast he is ineffective. The so called alves deserves an Oscar award. But in the final i would fancy Bayern to win it and would love to see Olic (the great) score the winning goal!
Jose’s ‘my boys’ was so touching. And i hate footballers like balotelli, he was favouring barca!
BC,
I hope you will be safely back home and in time to watch the Stoke match. As for me, i will be on leave from Friday till Sunday and might most probably miss the match if i fail to return early. But i will try my best. And about posting articles in here, i still don’t have any publishing right :(
I love Jose more:

this blog should be renamed JoseMourinhochampions…BC- we get you love the self proclaimed special one..we get he did a great deal putting the blues on the map..BUT HE IS NO LONGER OUR MANAGER
must get 3 from stoke, MUST..i expect man u to win out, but the spurs are the only points that could be dropped…my moh my how i would love to see spurs get a point at old trafford
if chels wins, and spurs get a pt
up 3 with 2 to play…
if both win up 1 with 2 to play and we have the tougher run in…come on blues, one time lets have a nice 4 game winning streak (including the FA Cup final_
Come on you Blue boys
I thought Jose was having a dig at Chelsea for not having moved on after his exit and that its still his pool of players. Thanks to him for reminding the world of the injustice meted out to Chelsea, nonetheless.
Jose is the best coach in the world jose deserved to win barc
It seems last years ovebro saga had hurt Jose deeply, and therefore although it was Hiddink who coached that game, words from Jose like “my boys” deeply touched my heart. I think he was trying to dedicate this win to all Chelsea fans. thankyou Jose, we all love you! You are our Special One!
Now Chelsea, we need to win remaining next 3 matches!
…I just love the man.
…I just love that man.

I hope all Chelsea fans feel the same way and hope to be watching Mourinho lifting the Champions League Trophy at the Bernabeu which will probably be his next job. Please don’t join another English team this summer!

i think so too!!
to all those who like him and mentioned him to come to chelsea:

this player cannot be managed.. his attitude is all wrong, trying to sell out his own team
i say we go back for this guy!!! Arjen Robben!! he is a chelsea son everyone likes him… and i think he would.. much better than j.cole.. and would be cheaper than ribery…. what do you guys think?
[quote comment="81489"]Michael, tonight you saw what a real tactical masterclass is in the barca vs inter tie

It was a good match, but the defending from Barcelona was a bit sloppy! cheers!

I was a firm supporter of Chelsea buying Gareth Bale and Arjen Robben years ago! cheers!
yea Denver, we should never have sold Robben at the first place. He was electric everytime he played when he was here. But he´s gone, and normally a player once gone does rarely come back!
Mou today criticized the Barca fans suggesting they might even come up with a story that Mou errupted the volcano! haha, thats the funniest comment he ever made!
did you see the way Jose trashed da barca players for their rants about the ref…. he actually reminded of their incredible luck coz of a particular idiot in the name of overbo…. i think..given a chance..i would love to jose back at the bridge….. :)
As much as I adored watching Robben in a Chelsea shirt, after killing man utd with that amazing volley, I’m certain Bayern willl be keeping him for a good few years, that team is going to be rebuilt around him, he’ll be there at least 4 years.
Aguero is seeming like the guy most likely to be signed, I haven’t seen him play since he played chelsea, I couldn’t say how good he is, but I can say he hasn’t hit the 20 goal tally and really, he should be getting there if he wants to play for Chelsea. In some respects ‘signing 20 goals’ is a good idea.
There are players like Dzeko floating around and to be honest, balotelli on loan couldnt be a bad move could it? If he does stuff up, he can go back, if he becomes a miracle man, well, different story.
I can’t say I feel great about Stoke. We will have Ashley Cole back, I would think Zhirkov or Ballack will play defensive midfield. Carlo might be a little more reserved about using his left sided players now which I think will see Zhirkov on the bench if A.Cole starts. The stories released are rubbish. Anelka has said he wants to retire here. He’ll be here a little while yet. The players need to be focused on beating Stoke. One thing Chelsea has never really liked, is playing after Man Utd.
Its almost like this manifestation of us catching Man Utd in terms of ability on the pitch and dominace in the league, is constantly in the face of the players. They are always watching Man Utd and effectively trying to catch up. This weekend, I think we play before Man Utd. When Man Utd win and we watch, our mentality is often cast to points and I think the players are drifting.
A good rest and a refocus will hopefully be enough. Losing Mikel now is not handy, Mascherano is savage and having someone nimble in the middle of the pitch needs to be considered. If not as a defender, maybe Joey can come infield or something.
another weekend kicking off AFTER the final whistle at Man Utd, 2-0, come on Chelsea, raring for this game
CA has shown a total inability to get our team “up” for several big games
We have had chances to SLAM DOWN the PL title and fallen completely flat. It is embarrassing.
Robben was awesome, no doubt about that but he was too fragile! And now he is doing great at Bayern and his compatriot manager loves him, no chance that he will be leaving Bayern, he had a great goal yesterday….SUPERB!
Happy Birthday to Mikel :)
to all the cricket fans out there, I am cheering for Deccan Chargers to all the way again and defend the IPL. Anyone else supporting Deccan Chargers. ? Its pure leadership and coaching genuis by the 2 australians ( gillly and lehmann) that makes this team so exciting. from second last to second spot in the table, incredible. For all the Chennaites ( BC, you too) watch out for Gilly.!! he is saving his best for today!! I am fucking pissed why the Mandal jewels ( Mulayam yadav, lalu yadav, sharad yadav) want to poke their nose in IPL.
Bad News Peeps, looks like both Essien and Mikel will miss the rest of the season due to their injuries, im just wonderin who are we goin to use as a dmf … Ballack or Deco ?? Id rather see Matic or another youngster given the chance!!
Jose Mourinhoe speech to the barca players is a good tonic to Chelsea players on the remaining matches in the season. Please tell all the players direct on the hotline for them to make history. The remainig three matches for league is for history and one match in the FA CUP for history also they should all focused and give 100% committment No more room for zero errors. They should focussed on the next three matches and not bother on what happens on the other matches of their rivals.Thir own concern is how to win the next three matches. There is one thing i noticed are they having some after effect anytime Man u play first for example the Tottenham match .please they should all have a meeting either to watch or not watch the next noon day match of Man u and Tottenham.Because of any side effect although this time around Chelsea will play in tne next day.I preferable they should use that time for training for next match.
In the next match against we need strong players who can fight for balls always. They should try to minimise throw ins near the Chelsea 18 yard box.We need compact and agile defenders strong and mobile midfield with a match plan please the remaining matches are to ha ve a match plan. we know Terry and Mickel will not play.please tell them to play and fight like a champion who is eager for something this season.LET it shows in your mind, your body and eyes and everybody will now give you way that you mean and deseave it

Chelsea vs Stock City:
——————Cech—————-
-Ferreiera—Ivanovic-Alex—A.Cole-
—–Deco—Ballack—Lampard—–
——Anelka–Drogba–Malouda——
Chelsea 3-0 Stock City
Im sure Matic can be every bit as strong as we need him to be and he is alot more supple than some midfield players. I think starting him is a good shout Jaz
I couldn’t tell much difference between the two pics, torres looked like a girl in both of them! lol
We need to outplay Stokes long throws and strength. Players like Malouda who aren’t afraid of a tussle will be the factor of the game.
It may be a case that Malouda is going to drag us through the rest of the season. Some Chelsea players have the heart, and drive, but simply aren’t coming up with the goods. Anyway, even if Mikel is out injured, we have more players returning so we should get past it well. Mikel has not been at his best anyway so this gives us good opportunity to find alternatives within the club
I am a chelsea supporter but from the bottom of my heart i hope chelsea dont win the title…its not because I dont want the club to win but its just that at the end of the day they are a bunch of overrated, overpaid, erratic and simply a inconsistent team…..
they simply dont have the squad who deserve a champions medal…….players like mikel, kalou, deco, ballack etc are just awful players…..
I am sure that if chelsea dunt win the title roman is gonna bring about a revolution at the club by asking all the asshole overpaid and useless players to get out of the club….I want to see chelsea get rid of all the deadwood rather than win the EPL title.

i came on here to tell u guys…. we must give matic a run out.. even if its from the bench!! i just know he is going to be good!!.. im telling u .. its the same way i felt about Ivano guys!!
Chelsea’s a good team. They could beat any team if they want to. They beat T’ham 3-0, beat L’pool 2-0, beat Man u and Arsenal home and away. But what i don’t understand is why they just simply refuse to play when it really matters.
ManUre are not going to get a full 3 points against Spurs ! ” Arry will see to that !
and if they draw and Chelsea wins it’s gonna feel like a loss for them cos it’ll be 3 points ahead for Chelsea with only 2 games to play !
ManUre were that close to losing even chance for the title last week ! It was in overtime of added time and Chelsea had the flakiest of refs presiding / ruining the game !
Not much of that happening this week end !
Now I throw caution to the wind and say : Spurs to win 2-0 and Chelsea to to beat Stoke by 4-0 !!!
And we is sitting pretty on top of table by dinner-time tomorrow !
It is not the time for only logic . It is not the time to look back . It is not the time to look for excuses .
It is the time to have courage and take the league by the scruff of the neck and shake the damn life outta it !
Tonite for Chelsea players : No sex, no booze , no stupid computer games, no midnight telly , no overeating and:
TOMORROW WE WIN !!!!!!!
Make us proud Chelsea

oh come we have a chance to win title deco and ballack will leave anyways so why not win title we deserve this year mikel is ok kalou is ok he is not overpaid he can improve he can be on the bench
we have most goals this season we have beaten arsnl and manu twice lead the table for most of seson drogba and lamps have scored have scored 20 goals or more this season malouda has 15 goals we desrve to be champs there is no doubt about it as a squad this team deserves title we have had injuries yet we have been top so dont say we dont deseve to win
