. . we are ‘the favourites’ for the title. I just mean what I say. We are just favourites. That doesn’t mean we will win the title for sure. It’s just that we have a higher probability of winning the title than the other teams based on points, goal difference and a projection of results based on ability, form and morale of our players and that of our rivals. Hope I’ve made myself clear. We still have a challenging run-in to the title. When we can be held by Blackburn and can beat Man Utd at Old Trafford a couple of weeks later, there’s no guarantee of what would happen in the next five matches. One thing is for sure: Questions have been answered. Critics have been silenced.
My luck with prediction continues! The result was as predicted while the order of goals was not. At least I was better than BBC’s Lawro who predicted a 1-1. Ahead of the game, I mentioned that Malouda vs Neville could be the key and it turned out to be so. I expected Berbatov not to pose a threat, and he just didn’t. So, while my powers of predictions last, let me say this – Chelsea will win the premier league title of season 09-10. There I said it!
Big round of applause to Carlo Ancelotti for the dominance he’s shown in the mini-league involving Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. We haven’t seen this since the Mourinho days. It’s not often you do the double against Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool (hopefully!). Though I had my worries about the starting line-up yesterday, the way Chelsea seemed to have prepared for the match was just brilliant. Right from the word go, it was clear that Chelsea had a plan. We were always under control to do that in a place like Old Trafford does say something. We let Man Utd have the ball and play in our half only when we let them. We wanted to win the game more than they did. We played as a team more than they did. This is a thoroughly deserved victory. Over 90 minutes, we were the better team in all departments of the game.
Talking about Chelsea deserving to win, there was a lot of noise from the Red quarters (fans and press alike) about the refereeing yesterday. Was drogba offside? Hell yes! I could say that watching the action live. But so what? Haven’t Chelsea been at the wrong end consistently, especially in champions league? Even a fortnight back, when Man Utd were riding their luck against a class Milan performance, we were denied a precious away win by the referee. Last season, whole world knew how the referee favoured Barcelona. These things happen time and again. What goes round will come round.
What’s very funny is Man Utd fans talking about quality of refereeing. The whole country knows how much Man Utd are favoured by the referees. The thing about penalties in Old Trafford is an open secret. What about the stoppage time against Man City? What about all the dives that get them penalties when Ronaldo was around? There was even an alternate league table if Ronaldo hadn’t got away with his dives. They have been favoured by referees to such an obscene level that they shouldn’t even be talking about this.
Why go that far? Let’s look at this game itself. Yes, Drogba’s goal was offside. What about Macheda’s goal? I’ve seen the replays many many times. He simply pushed the ball into the net using his arm. There are no two ways about it. In fact, that goal must have been disallowed and he must have been carded. Very conveniently, they are very quiet about this fact. And yes, Park could have got a penalty and so was the case with Anelka. You can say that the refereeing was poor but he favoured neither teams.
What was disgusting was the Man Utd supporting Press writing headlines and captions like ‘Drogba’s controversial goal puts Blues ahead’. That’s a fucking lie. What put Blues ahead was a better team, better tactics and better performance. Both teams rode their luck and they evened out. At the end of it, the score read 2-1 in favour of the away team. Simple as.
In the words of Jose Mourinho, ‘you always either dominate a game or control the game’. Typically in home games you try to dominate and in away games, you try to control. Chelsea did exactly that. I thought if Drogba wasn’t fit to start, we could have started with Kalou instead of Anelka. The Frenchman continued his poor form. While against Villa at home he could get away with his current form, here at Old Trafford, he could have nearly cost us the match. It’s clear that his confidence levels are low at the moment. He is unsure and unclear many a times.
Joe Cole did well to score his most important goal of recent times. But I’d be lying if I say I wanted to see him all 90 minutes. Deco was pretty impressive with his range and accuracy of passing. He was also very cool and calm on the ball. I thought Carlo made the right substitutions. He got Drogba for Anelka and suddenly we became more threatening in our attacks. He got Kalou for Joe Cole and he started making an impact immediately. He got Ballack for Deco just to keep Man Utd at bay as they got desperate. For me, the man of the match is once again Florent Malouda. I really really want him to win the Chelsea player of the season award. He absolutely deserves the prize.
This has been a roller coaster of a season for Chelsea. We were leading by some margin, then we had a bad December, we came to the second and fiddled with the third place, we got eliminated in the champions league, we were dropping points in the league and suddenly we started spraying goals all over to regain our form and here we are. With 5 games to go, we are now 2 points and 4 goals ahead of the second place Man Utd.
5 wins is all we need to win the premier league title. We have this small matter of beating Spurs and Liverpool along the way. For now, let’s enjoy the win. Trip to Wembley ahead for the FA Cup semi finals against Aston Villa. Let me be honest with you. I have a feeling of indifference about this match. If we win, very good, if we lose so what? The matches that matter come after this Wembley game. Let’s stay grounded and see how this goes!

Oh Blue Champion… I can’t agree with this:

This match is very important. For our morale, for our confidence, and for our chances to win the double this season. If we win next 7 games we will win the double. Season 2009/10 will be the best in our history than. Boys want it, manager want it, supporters want it. We have to book our place in FA Cup final. We have to prepare carefully for this clash because it will be hell different from this crazy 7-1 game few days ago. It will be a different story, and I’m sure that Villa will be very motivated for this. We can’t underestimate them. We have whole week for this so we can’t f**k it up :)

Well mate . . there’s nothing much for you to agree there! I only said that’s my honest feeling ;-) The thing is, after this semi final match at Wembley, we have TWO premier league matches in the very next week – Tottenham (away) and Stoke (home). I would want no compromise for these two matches. If you give me 6 points from the Spurs and Stoke match, I’d take a defeat in the semi final happily. Again, my honest feeling.
Best thing is, we won’t have to play our remaining PL games in our away kits.
Home – Bolton, Stoke, Wigan
Away – Liverpool, Tottenham
We only lost twice wearing our royal blue this season, and none of them were to teams not wearing blue. Wigan are the only team left with blue in them, but they seriously look like crap in recent days. I’d say at least 16 out of these 18 points will seal us the title.

That’s a very interesting point despite the fact I don’t believe that our away kit is cursed (they’re lovely!).
Its looks like u dont like anelka ., i don thing he was that poor y’day..
me having the same feeling abt villa game.., any fuckin win ll do..,spurs and Liverpool away ll be difficult…
btw .., when ll torres get injured again..?
Didier drogba never been a Chelsea player of the year !!
and he s regarded as the one of the best strikers in the world., he s having a gr8 season..
i think it ‘ll be unfair if he is not goin to get the award this yr.
i think cup match is important but most important thing is match to end after normal time because league is very crucial
Ok BC I can see your point… but I think that it will be more probable to get 3 points from Tottenham and Stoke after the victory with AV. Our morale will be flying high after booking the place in FA Cup final. Imagine how our boys would feel after the defeat with Villa… It will be a disaster to be honest and winning the EPL will be the only possibility to win something important this season. This means big big pressure for our boys and for Ancelotti as well.
I agree with you bc in this post, reflecting all the game yesterday and to be honest with you, the semis is very important., because winning they focusing and confident more than ever to win the five matchs left and the final..
BC, i totally agree with your refereeing thing. Chelsea have been the unluckiest clubs for quite some time now. Well, as you said, it comes back. More signs – which says, its Chelsea’s time. But nothing is for sure – Chelsea is known to be unpredictable and MAN U can fight back. But anyways, I am delighted with the result and more so with the match and looking forward to an amazing remaining month.
well BC, I actually am looking for a win against villa. I won’t be as upset if we lose, but I think that we have a huge amount of momentum against villa both because of the 7-1 win and the win over utd. I am by no means assuring that the fa cup is ours, but if our current fork continues, we could find ourselves walking away with the double. knock wood just in case.
our squad is built to sustain enormous pressure. So i´m sure we´ll go there to win. Sturridge and DD are fresh, so is ballack. So i think these three will start up for sure. But what happened to kakuta? Is he is lost somewhere? May be Matej adn Bruma will get to play as well. We need to rest our important players for the league games, this week. I think we have 3 games in the span of some 11 days.
Carlo will play some of the so called “a-team” and try to win the match in the first half, but I think that no matter the scoreline he will take off key players at halftime. anelka shouldn’t play at all. either drogba should play, or if he is being rested, sturridge along with kalou or kakuta. Carlo needs to realize that he can’t be wasting spots on anelka. I love anelka, but considering his current form he shouldn’t play.
villas form at the moment is poor. chelseas is brilliant. even with key players given a rest, Chelsea should in handily.
Chelsea 3-1 Aston villa.

If we win the double, then Ancelloti will do what Mourinho could not … Win FA and PL in the same year. I guess on 5 teams have done that ..
we need this guy Gonzalo Higuaín
we need this guy Gonzalo Higuaín
We need kun aguero or david villa who are all season performers…
I watched the game with friends in a friend’s place (the first Chelsea game i have watched outside my house). There were two manures and at the final whistle their faces sucked…WOW!
Only thing that i wished more was Ferreira to score that goal…still wondering how he would have celebrated!

Drogba doesn’t get it because there is always someone better and more effective than him, even though by a thin margin. For an instance, see how Malouda’s great form is going to cost him this season.
One more thing BC, we have always said that Kalou does best coming off from the bench, he proved us right again!
I also felt very easy seeing neville in the first 11 and Malouda made shit of him; neville was a mere spectator when Malouda whizzed past him…thanks to Zhirkov on that!
It has been almost 38 hours now since the final whistle and i am still feeling orgasmic! ;)
well thought article. Carlo Ancelotti is man of the match for me. He was spot on with his tactics and Chelsea controlled most of the game. My only worry right now is the lack of attacking depth in midfield. If Joe Cole and Deco are having a bad day (which happens very often) then we are just down to relying on Lampard and Malouda to create chances in midfield. Things worked out great Saturday because we just needed to control the game thanks to the early lead. But I kept thinking, what if we were losing at half time, who can I see coming into our midfiled to make something happen? Nobody.
That’s worrysome and that’s where the team needs to invest in the summer. I would go for the following targets:
- A versatile defensive midfield (who can also attack) – Rodwell
- A creative attack minded midfielder who can score – Hamsik is my number one but he’s staying put with Napoli, so I would try to lure Jovetic (Fiorentina), Pastore (Palermo) or Gourcuff (Bordeaux) in that order.
- A proven tricky winger – Angel Di Maria is my number 1 option, the kid will be the best winger in the world some day! – the young brazilian Neymar also looks good (could be back up target)
- A quick skillfull striker to play alongside Drogba – Aguero Number1 target – Neymar, Pato as secondary.

Been a damn good week !
I saw the match on Saturday and I can say that Chelsea completely controlled the match. Although there were braces from Manchester United they never looked like scoring. I must admit it would be nice to win the FA Cup, but I’m more concerned with us winning the league. Anelka was poor and this only strengthens my feelings that Chelsea need decent forwards and with replacing their ‘golden oldies’. cheers!!
carlo has crushed man utd 3 times dis season n with his first season in england.dats a gud record for me n for him winning da league will be a magnificent thing for him…he s da best coach n i know he havent bought a player since he came in…that speaks alot abt him.he s a true chelsea.cant wait for next season wen we win da champions league…
for dis weeknd i thnk man utd wil be plyn blackburn wich as chelsea ppl cnt ignore…a win for man utd wil put a bit pressure to win at home against bolton on tuesday.i knw we beaten ruthless man utd bt da battle still continues until man utd drop points then we can breath afta.
a game against villa i dont thnk it shud be a nerve for us…but an important match dat we shudnt lose at all cos of our morale n confidence of our players.its high time dat da league go back to the bridge after four years of bad luck n refereeing.our anticipated match left dis season is against liverpool n for da first tym man utd we ll be behind their rivals to beat chelsea.
i just hope we dont win da league on da last day n hope manure drop points again…we have suffered alot for da past four years n dis is our TIME
Martin Samuel on Dailymail.co.uk :
So, taking the mistakes in order, that was a definite Manchester United penalty ignored, a definite Chelsea penalty waved away, an offside Chelsea goal allowed, and a handballed Manchester United goal given.
Right, so chalk on an extra goal for United and an extra goal for Chelsea and chalk off the Didier Drogba goal and the reply from Federico Macheda. Final score: Manchester United 1 Chelsea 2.
A very lucky man, referee Mike Dean. A very lucky man, indeed.
…..finally some honest words from bloody fu***** journo….

I am also reading countless articles in the papers, all against Chelsea because those who laid down such craps are tuppence manure worshipers! I read them because i feel so happy to see how they like the taste of their own menu! They cry shamelessly!
Martin above got it quite well but the probability of converting a penalty by Lampsy vs a manure stands like this: 70:30!
One worst man in EPL history earns his livelihood by writing against us on dailymail.co.uk His tuppence is available there. I have submitted my comment (reproduced below) but it wasn’t displayed because their so called House Rules might be saying: your comment should eb against Chelsea.
Hey mr pole (the one used in strip tease!)…mike dean in his worse day is far better than you in your best refereeing day! keep your tuppence to yourself…worthless wanker couldn’t accept the fact that the better team won! if not then why don’t you spare a line about macheda’s goal?
I knew @ the start of the game that it would be a high tempo and high pressure match…
I knew when Chelsea lead 1-0 …ManU will find every way to get the equaliser….and definitely will be some controversial…
..on park =more diving than being fouled….just like remember manU-Liverpool match….just unlucky for Liverpool when Valencia did it….
I’m bit of shock when Lamps,Mikel,Deco occupied the midfield brilliantly….Fletcher didn’t show up….thanks not to play Carrick….how bad that Scholesy and Ne-failed didn’t it….
Deco did brilliantly his job….how good he was ….how could he so bright now…..
keep starting with Joey Mr.Carlo…and subs him with Kalou….and the Blues will keep roll on and on…

kun did have a good season sir, based on chelsea’s style.. which we want to change Gonzalo Higuaín would be better because he is big.. good both on the ground and in the air. I would like to see Kun aswell dont get me wrong (we might even push for kun more), but chelsea aint interested in those high wages.
in order to become champions we have to win all 3 home games (9 pts) we must target winning at white hart lane because tot will play arsnl on wed that week so tired lege will be there then may be only 1 pt at anfield and title is ours depending onmancity manu game
@ Denver
Chelsea should consider going in for Fernando Torres. He has league experience and hungry for sucess. cheers!!

HELL NO too over priced.
1. Sergio Aguero
2. Edin Dzeko
3. David Villa
4. Karim Benzema
That’s in order BTW. Who else do the tabloids say we are looking at. I know Lukaku said he doesn’t want to join another club till he’s 18.
and let Miroslav Stoch play next season.

Agreed no to torres!
benzema wont come forget it, villa going to barca or madrid after they sell Higuain
te reason i like Higuain and Kun they have skills! even Podolski has reall good ball control. Gignac has power pace and great ball control.
this is my striker pool, remember drogba (32) anelka (31) kalou under proforms,
Strikers:
***Sergio Agüero – 21
**Lukas Podolski – 24
***Gonzalo Higuaín – 22
Hugo Almeida – 25
André-Pierre Gignac – 24
Lisandro López – 27
these striker except kun will come at a good enough price good wages.
And what about the Russian wonder-kid Alan Dzagoev? He is a a Chelsea fan as well!
Dear BC,
I am gravely surprised by the lack of photo(s) in this post!
What a game!!!!! Chelsea beating Man U at Old Trafford….hahahahahahah

I said Karim Benzema purely because he’s the one rotting on the bench every game and higuain is still Pellegrini’s favourite but I have also heard that Higuain is the one who is out of favour.
Would we really sell Anelka to make way for two strikers? Probably not. So I’m fully behind bringing Aguero for that 30-40mil they want.
In: AGUERO and 1 Midfielder and Complete Team
we just need to scrap deco. and get in fresh 2-3 fresh legs and what if joey doen not renew his contract?? we need to buy
DAVID VILLA
DI MARIA
HIGUAIN…
we need to give chances to the likes of stoch, kakuta and the younger ones from the chelsea academy..
Great result
good tactics, still some things we need to improve on. The shooting from outside the box is almost non-existent. We have alot of players that can hit the ball hard and accurately from beyond the area and we need to pick up all the goals we possibly can. Was happy to see us start anelka and joey. Was also pleased Ballack was subbed in as opposed to starting. Ballack likes to be the guy at the end of the play, Deco is more the guy to sit back and pull strings which worked well because although we couldn’t always break through, we could move the ball faster.
Even with the current results, I prefer diamond formation, but if DD is carrying a small injury, maybe subbing him in and out of games for the remainder of the season would be good.
I think Man Utd are about to embark on a seriously bad run. They don’t usually play two bad games in a row and bar the 55-80minute mark on saturday, they were terrible. They are weaker than they werewhen they lost to Bayern, Munich on the other hand, has Robben available. Man Utd could potentially get knocked out of the champions league tomorrow. The team then has to travel to Blackburn who are capable of winning but I expect a draw from them. Then the next 3 games for them are Man City who are in top 4 I think, Tottenham who should have Lennon back by then as well and then they take on Darren Bent and Sunderland which is also potentially messy for Man utd, I do expect them to drop points. I’m certain of it.
We do still have to play Liverpool, we might not even have to worry about them, Benitez seems to have just expected defeat and allows his squad rotation to undo the teams effort to reach the top 4.
We have a nice little break until we go to Wembley where we should advance. O’Neil won’t put out the same team that rolled over the other week, but we should be alright. If we hold out for about another 2/3weeks, we will have a huge defensive boost with injured players returning to full fitness (Ivanovic, Carvahlo, Cole.)
If we’re talking about players again……I think this is the last season we will see Rafa Benitez. It would be a shame, someone needs to keep Liverpool fc from serious competition and rafa was doing it these last few years. That club has really gone downhill and every bit of their success I have seen, always comes down to some flukey stupidity. No more, they see that they are all luck now. I think Benitez will go if he is not sacked beforehand this summer. Emiliano Insua, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres would all be good purchases but only at the right price.
I would say;
The team is cannot play wide consistently,
We are missing some power in midfield without Essien,
We are not aggressive enough around the opponents box,
We are not piercing defensive lines as we attack enough-very rarely do we see someone getting actual space on breaks since Quaresma went back to Inter.
We should only sign a striker if we are playing a two striker formation, else we will have 4+ strikers and one spot which is never good. If we were to get a striker, he needs to be capable of putting 10 goals away for us minimum.
I’d be happy if we signed a leftback. Someone who is young and is capable. Kieran Gibbs is probably 100% unlikely but no harm in dreaming. He could easily start for any premiership team and Ashley is about 30, I know we have Bertrand and Van Aanholt, but Gibbs is in another league to them
We need players like Malouda, Joey, Kalou and Anelka to be getting up the pitch faster on the break, we should be busting lungs to get to our opponents net, not giving it to Lampard and waiting for our opponent to stop marking us properly before we pass. I would of said Joey was on his way out until the Villa game. Seeing as he is staying, surely then instead of signing a winger, Kakuta and Stoch should be getting some good game time, not scraps.
If Ballack still had his pace, I wouldn’t be bothered about a defensive midfielder so much. With Makelele and Diarra gone, all we have is Essien and Mikel. Beletti can play there, but he is not ideal as he never even played rightback for us competently. Daniel De Rossi is my first choice thus far, we were linked with him before, I watched some Roma games and he is actually pretty good. With Deco leaving, space is available for central influence. Matic could find opportunity to get into the team, I do prefer Tom Huddlestone from Tottenham though.
If we could get Torres for £35million, I’d say buy him. He is about 24/25/26, he has shown he can score in this league and others. He could be that extra bit of glitz we want in the box although, to be honest, I’d be happy with Drogba and Anelka starting and just looking for someone to carry us through injury and late in the game but we shouldn’t forget about Sturridge, Di Santo nor Borini who are all promising for the future
hey TP (trueplatinum) I want you to follow me and help me analyze these points
a few things to note
DD( 32) might need Hernia ops. probably after world cup, he wont do it before… cause he wont want to miss it. he will miss 2 cl matchs. anelka (31) might leave, plus our line always looks toothless when he leads.
the line is just too old, need new blood to learn from the drog, so that when drog leaves… new strikers will be able handle EPL better.
you all might recall a list i put out the other day (again i was not suggesting to buy all those players, was just a pool we could choose from) alot depends on the formation or formations we want to use next season.
Quaresma … what can i say. i would like to see him in our team
* by the way Daniel De Rossi probably wont come .. he is mr. roma just like Lampard (honestly he is one of the main reasons we lack fluidity) is to chelsea, when deco plays deep there is more creativity.
the closest person at a good price might be Freddy Guarin 1.84 m (6 ft +1?2 in).
we could try to get VDV, Bastin.
chelsea need to rebuild now a team that can continue to challenge and be more of a force in CL.
A. cole might go to madrid.
kalou – might leave
deco – gone
ballack – sub role.
Joe – one foot in one foot out.
ricky – might leave
FACT – chelsea plans to change up their style a bit (more fluidity) as such they will try to get creative players.
other things that will affect the transfer window:
madrid will be seeking a new manager – they want pato, we might want pato, but i think Higuain would be a better buy, so we should allow madrid to get pato, milan take benzema, and we run off with higuain.
Juve will be seeking a new manager
Jose might leave Inter – jose might take snijder with him and a few more players.
man city will be seeking a new manager, this team will fight with chelsea for players
Pool might need a new manager if madrid get Rafa. might not affect us much, unless we try for torres.
World cup year (alot of this will be one off the air. ) best to buy players before it starts because prices might increase if a players we want does well.
if mancity gets Cl spot ( will challenge chelsea for certain players eg. Higuain…. thats if we are looking in that direction but he is class.)
alot will rest on who becomes the next Madrid manager.
Interms of chelsea we will need to move swiftly !! to secure the players we need without too much attention.
my aid is to buy players that can grow with chelsea, players that dont think they are bigger than our club, thus the reason i dont want too many star players.. i want young up coming class players, that will come not only for the money! but to play for chelsea!
forgive how my post looks confusing.
Looking forward to the semi final on Saturday. Have a feeling that AV will get their own back on us as our Captain Chav gave it large after the 7-1 win, these things always come back to haunt us. He will be picking the ball out of the net again and kicking the post just like he did at Villa Park. Sometimes I wish he would just kep it shut for once.

Worry less Dave, we are ‘luck’ personified now and believe or not, we are destined for it this season and nothing can stop us! its still going to be a tough match but we will prevail.
@ TruePlatinum
I think that Gareth Bale is much better than Kieron Gibbs. And if not Gareth Bale than rather Drenthe should be our target. People used to respect us before Jose Mourinho got sacked and we could have gotten the cream of the crop (any player we wanted to at one point in time). cheers!!
Why always talking about new players? Jesus…
I guess if we were handed the transfer ban, you guys had nothing to talk about :))

Sup Dude, how’s it goin?
DD and Anelka.
DD is not getting younger and his knees have had a fair amount of surgery in the past. Nice for us though, he doesn’t seem to be getting worse and the title of ‘worlds best hitman’ does not just elude you at the end of your career. I reckon DD is good for another 3 years minimum and even then, he may score 25 goals a season for all 3 and that would surely merit a starting spot. Truth be told, unless he shows a huge sign of things to come, he’ll be here a while yet and I doubt he’d want to stay a sub. Anelka could well go, but I think he will be staying, Carlo will not be looking to have to chop and change unnecessarily and especially if it means players leaving us for free. Anelka can play well….he is such a tempermental player, like DD. If Anelka is going to play to his best, he needs tos be in front of the goal. I think Ancelotti caved in to injuries and familiarity to choose 4-3-3 and we may find the system changes again end of season.
We have Di Santo and Sturridge who are both tipped as future stars. There are countless others that the youth system will be looking to integrate. Buying a striker changes what we have blatantly been spending all of our effort looking for behind the scenes…’the next drogba’. Players like Drogba are rare and even then, few are as effective as he is. It would be very good of us to pick up a striker with experience to play when either DD or Anelka are out. Someone capable of carrying the goalscoring burden on their own. It is a shame Mourinho picked up Milito…he fits the bill, players like him, Gignac, basically someone to be Scheva but actually good. Such a signing should be aged about 26-28 as to not impact the growth of our starlets. Striker needs alot of pace, upper body strength, and ability to score from all sorts of places and situations.
Higuain would be useful, but not the best choice out there. I’d prefer someone built like Balotelli and Almeida, that can cover ground like Rooney and can keep us playing however we want.
As you said, all depends on how Carlo moulds the team for his future plans
We need players that will have the legs to beat maicon in the 90th minute. Not literally but that kind of calibre. If Joey can attain form, we’ll have abit more time for players like Higuain to show they are perfect.
Gareth Bale hasn’t even physically played (been available for either) the same level of opposition Kieran Gibbs has outplayed. Gibbs has played top european teams and did almost everything Arsenal needed from him in the second half of last season. Bale can score free kicks, but gibbs plays way better
Mixed thoughts on this weekend
Villa were humiliated, but will they acrually put up a challenge?
Quaresma
player and manager movement
efficient and covert purchasing
i forget about Mirko Vucinic he is very good, carlo knows him well
Balotelli seems very hard to manage… the lad is just out of order.
hugo Almeida he is good.
guys we shoudl think of new players at end of season now lets hope chelsea win epl
trueplatinum and denver,
I am amazed by the way you guys keep track of stars in the footballing world. I like your analysis too, i bet you guys will fit well in Chelsea scouting board!
I agree with everything except that i don’t see Di Santo as a future star, but it may be due to my lack of knowledge and his performance at Blackburn.
Can anyone of you throw some light on Alan Dzagoev?
forgot to write more.
We have missed that run ‘n’ gun play since robben and duff left. Quaresma showed flickers of it (even if it was only against Hull etc) but we want someone, not necessarily to score goals, but who will open up play for us and give us extra dimension.
Liverpool will be a different beast for many years. Players like Torres are playing for a decent club to win trophies. He can’t get that and might not even play champions league football for years. I’d give Liverpool until end of next season. If something hasn’t changed by then, players will go and Benitez will quit. The owners may even force sales through this season and if there are deals going………we should certainly take advantage.
Any signings we do make need to be done professionally and quickly, before the media clocks on and helps inflate transfer prices. Also, we should ensure not to start selling the player’s jersey in the shop before he starts training!!!
Sorry Karma, I haven’t watched Dzagoev play recently.
Di Santo hasn’t found his scoring touch yet. I think he will grow into someone like Ivica Olic or Carlos Tevez. Someone that can come up with the cheeky goal and last minute assist (he’s made the aassist for us at least) can’t remember against who, but an injury time header down to beletti in the 6yard box for the winner last season.
Arsenal lost to Messi 4-1 last night, beautiful. I love how we got criticised for the way we play. I’d much rather go out 1-1 looking like we actually should of won than to go out 6-3 getting dominated in both legs and being made to look like I’d lost my rattle painted in the French flag, lol.
Tonight will be a good game to watch.
Im so happy with last weekend I might buy our white jersey
I know many of you (or maybe all) won’t like this idea but I have been thinking about getting Luis Fabiano if he can come at 20mil or less.
He’s going to leave Sevilla this summer because he’s been there a long time and has won all he can with them. Brilliant striker that can play both feet and very experienced who fits our style however he is 29 but Chelsea do buy relatively old so it might happen.
no English teams in in CL Semi-finals….
Just seen manure being eliminated from CL. Can’t stop laughing. Two defeats within a week for the selfrighteous, at what now must be Theatre of Nightmares.
Talking of players, what is the status with Essien? There was a rumour he was going to back at the end of March, and was also rumoured he suffered a recurrence and out of the season. Anyone with information on him and likely date of return?
Lol DanaBlue, watched it too. Where are the pundits saying man utd and arsenal need revamps?
To be honest, Man Utd did well to actually win the match but you could tell Bayern were toying with them.
I anticipated results, very happy with a few recent games. So this sets Man Utd up for Saturday against Bolton, having risked Rooney and made the injury worse, with I think 2days break and not at Old Trafford…:D —–< this is the closest thing to the ratio my eyes to my smile is right now.
Liverpool, the team I hate are in a state
Arsenal, the team that everyone praises who are in fact not as great as they make out, humiliated and once again, out of trophies
Now Man Utd will hopefully only have the Carling Cup to kiss goodnight as we snap up the last 2 Trophies. Man Utd will now have less games also, but the damage is done, they have fallen out of champions league, dropped a 1 point lead to a 2 point deficit in the premiership and they are chasing with key injuries and suspensions. Blackburn might even nick a win this weekend!!!! Opening up a 5point gap next week would be phenomenal.

Yet again i agree with you! But i am bit disturbed by valencia and nani and gibson…are they going to make it for rooney’s injury and berba’s walking on the pitch?
Though I was thrilled to see our old boy destroying manure, i would have loved if manure had gone further in CL. Its not possible for them to win against barca or inter in present form, and i would have rather seen them getting defeated in finals. Is n’t the english press slamming mr. red nose for playing the unfit rooney. He is risking england’s world cup chances.
no English teams in in CL Semi-finals….
Did you change your name or you diff from IWasMissingJose.
‘Messi…correction…Robben is the God of Football’ Hahaha
Yesterday was a pretty unusual game in the sense that on the counter-attack, United looked pretty convincing and defensively, Bayern looked childish. I mean, how many of you had your hearts in your mouths every time Dimichelles played a back pass to Butt ? Yet despite this, Bayern ended up pulling off the unthinkable. Olic needed just one good look at goal to get it past Van der Sar and Robben, well, he just needed a couple of centimeters of space to pull off his brilliance !
Did any of you find Fergie’s excuses childish and baseless after the end of the game ? According to him, Rafael ‘the kid’ was crowded out and isolated by the Bavarians to commit the fouls. He believes it was ‘typically German’ of them to ask the referee to give him the second yellow in order to send him off. The funny thing was, the guy arguing all the time was a Frenchman. Enough said.
Looking forward to us taking the Premiership back to where it belongs. The trophies comin’ home soon I hope !
KTBFFH !!
hey Karma, didnt press submit when I was replying to you beforehand
Di Santo can do enough to cause confusion in the box, as far as his other talents go, questionable. He has produced key plays for us, he has done so at Blackburn under Allardyce but unfortunately, he is not racking up goals or assists. He needs another season or two, maybe a loan to Italy. He is a clever player, he was scoring for fun in reserves but isn’t up to starting in the premiership yet
I haven’t watched Dzagoev in any recent games so can’t comment too much on him. I’ve seen him in a draw against Man Utd which he did score a decent goal, but thats all I’ve seen of him, I don’t really try to watch CSKA.
Nani, Gibson and Valencia are all the same kind of players (in how they approach attacks). All of them look to rotate around other players. Like how we used to play before we signed Anelka. The strikers defines how and where they move and the problem is, you put Berbatov in the middle of all that. Dimitar has to track back to the halfway line in case team mates need an extra pass to create attacks, he needs to be able to bring the ball down and pass well with either his head or his feet and above all, he needs the extra bit of alertness and vision because not only is he more sluggish than valencia, nani and gibson, he does not position well as a second striker yet alone a lone one and that is breaking man utd down. Man Utd’s best chances do not involve Berbatov…..at least in the key games anyway and that is where it counts.
Guys, we are having a great week aren’t we, and what’s this…..Ashley Cole set for return against Stoke in 2 weeks time and Essien back against Liverpool in 3 weeks. Right at the end of the season, but with tired legs, bringing Essien and Ashley in for the last 3 games will be hugely beneficial for us
@ TruePlatinum
Alex Ferguson got his tactics spot on on Saturday and during last nights Champions league match. I’m disspointed in people like yourself and DanaBlue showing so little respect to such a terrific manager. Unfortuantely he can’t control what happens on the pitch such as that off-side goal by Didier Drogba and that tugging of the arm by Rafael. I don’t think Manchester United will give up their title without a fight. cheers!!
Before I forget. To the scouts on this blog: get a life mates! cheers!!
Michael, step back a second
You’re looking at a tired man utd team. 4-4-2 being their best formation, decided to go for a defensive line up when his team is an attacking force, not a defensive one. Not saying they can’t defend, just that it isn’t their forte
It isn’t even simply a case of wrong tactics, although I could easily end this argument by saying it was Fergie’s arrogance which made him start Neville and not choose Rafael and funnily enough, one of the goals man utd conceeded came from that side. You can’t control what happens on the pitch but you know what you’re players are likely to do and that is what influences tactics. Tactics get the best out of your players….if you are trying to tell me Fergie did that against us on Saturday or against Bayern in the first leg………you are not watching the games. I dont mean to sound like a dick or anything, thats just the way things are interpreted.
Like any fair person should, I do give credit where it is due. But just to say, first of all, against Bayern, I would of played 4-4-2. Rooney may just have done enough for another striker to nip in and score. It is not the same building an attack with a striker within metres of you then it is getting the ball to a winger at the corner flag.
Against us, even after seeing the trouble Neville had with Ribery’s pace, he still persisted and it cost him, it was a move that was never going to pay off and you can’t even call it a battle because there will only ever be one winner between malouda and neville. I could see that, analysts could see that, Fergie could see it, he chose not to. When it fell apart, then he made a change but it was too late. I don’t blame Fergie for yesterday and if you read what I’ve written, I’ve actually said Man Utd did well to win the match. Reason being, Fergie put carrick on to try and get the ball upfield better, he put rafael on the right to actually improve that side. And it paid off. As any other game, you would applaud Man Utd. Simply because of away goals, Man utd dont go through. They weren’t the better team but Bayern weren’t exactly breathtaking.
But anyway, seperate argument as Fergie as I’m sure most people would agree, does influence games with his comments and he does pressure refs. Injury time is also another debatable subject. Fergie can’t call the line, but he can discipline his players to not commit stupid fouls….. Not really much left to talk about. Fergie is good, he is accomplished, he has been knighted and Man Utd have beaten us fairly in recent times. He does however, make mistakes and results tend not to lie
Breaking news in the form that Carlo Ancelloti just said that Cashley Cole could return in time for the match against Stoke City and Michael Essien could return for the match against Liverpool FC. cheers!!

No, Ferguson did make mistakes on saturday. He played Neville, Scholes and Giggs against a fairly old team. Neville was toyed around by Malouda, Scholes is well past his best, you saw what Nani could have done instead of Giggs. He went for experience throughout in a game of such magnitude and Manutd went seriously lost on pace in the first half.
Against Bayern he was spot on. The only thing sceptic was the inclusion of Gibson. I am quite surprised by the hype around here, but the only thing the guy has is a fierce right footed shoot. Has no pass quality or positional sense whatsoever. Fabio until the time he was around had Ribery in his pocket. The red card was the change of fortune and boy what a strike by Robben.
The way you spoke of Drogba’s goal, sounds like you think Ferguson had won the tactical battle against Chelsea. Are you saying the only team that faced the wrath of incompetent refereeing were Manutd? Get a grip mate. You are sounding like a manc. I have already read enough bullshits from the mancs saying they were robbed by Referee on Saturday. Ferguson might be better, but on the day he was outsmarted by Carlo. So………cheers!!
Not a scout. I am a student. You don’t know me.

TP.. keep those views coming bro….
59. TruePlatinum,
Thank you loads for your reply, it helps me a lot. And i am amazed that you are only a student, so much of analytical depth for a student, nevertheless keep up the good work! You have a passion!
I am elated about the news of Ashley and Essien!
63. chelsito,
You got it dear, spot on! But as i was saying i have visited all the sites that support manure and have enjoyed their bemoans and whines and excruciatingly painful cries, thoroughly! I am not surprised that they can’t taste their own wine! Respect and appreciation, give where it is due!
Our blood is blue, not pink (like that of sunbears)!
People! This theme would be alive just for 24 hours and then I plan to revert back to our earlier theme. With that comfort in mind, what do you think of this theme? What do YOU feel about this theme? Plain and honest opinions.
gourcuff may leave if laurent blanc leaves…a chance for chelsea to get him…aguero,ribery/di maria and gourcuff.vdv
I was in a meeting and as soon as i got back here i opened the page and this slipped my mouth: “AAZZAI” a Bhutanese exclamation for surprise. My colleague asked me any problem/surprise? I explained to him!
My comment:
All things are subject to change and i like your initiative in bringing out new things in here. But frankly, i feel very uncomfortable with the new theme but this is the part of dealing with anything new. But since i find the urge in you to change the theme, i would suggest you to do it bit by bit instead of giving this altogether new look.
I like your insertion of a time metre along with teh comment date. And if you want to use this current format, please reduce the font size, may be 10 or 12 would be suitable.
I like your passion and love for Chelsea, the only thing immune to change! ;)
BC I think you should keep it like this. It’s Fresh and Simples.
We are so close to a first Chelsea double and the season is getting too exciting. If Barca and Lyon get to the Champions league final as well it would be the best season ever. We will thrash Aston Villa tomorrow!
you can reduce font size yourself with a quick and easy, ctrl + scroll.
@ TruePlatinum and Denver
I said that jokingly. Please don’t take it the wrong way. cheers!!
@ Chelsito
Alex Ferguson had one eye on the FA premier league and another on the Champions league. We can agree on this. Yes? Now if Chelsea can falter at Wigan and Blackburn and company then surely Neville and Scholes and Giggs can handle the Chelsea set-up? And how can you say that Paul Scholes is past his best when he played so well this season and played so well against AC Milan in Italy? Remember Manchester United has a couple of injuries, including John O’shea. Now had O’shea been fit I think that Rafael would have played right-back against Chelsea and John O’shea would have played right back against Bayern Munich. Gary Neville played quite well against Liverpool FC and AC Milan both matches at Old Trafford. There has even been talks of Ryan Giggs coming out of international retirement and playing for Wales again. Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs reminds me of Cafu and Zenadine Zedane? cheers!!
cool…seems like chelsea interested in di maria after frank arnesen watched him in action last night…he is a must buy along with aguero..ribery or hdi maria..but seems like ribery wans to go real
I gotta ask u something guys, if we win the league and FA Cup, does that mean FA will just hand over the community shield cup to Chelsea :) ?
Its not the first time that would happen. The Community Shield will then between 1st and 2nd in the league. I think it will be between Chelsea and Arsenal.
malouda won player of the month for march he deserves it keep it up
where is the bc huddle and bc shout links?
@ Michael
May be we could refer this topic to the people who are more passionate and knowledgeable about their football world.

I may seem a hypocrite trying to say that those fools in the blogs know more than SIR Alex Ferguson.
But can you explain to me exactly why the Zidanes and Cafus of Utd were defeated by Maloudas and Decos of Chelsea?
I gotta ask u something guys, if we win the league and FA Cup, does that mean FA will just hand over the community shield cup to Chelsea :) ?
hey bro i have always wondered that….. and wanted to see that myself…lol.
yeah BC u always do that… i dont like when the games starts and i cant chat with my buds… im sure you will fix it soon .
chelsea must remain consistent to the end of the season….
cant wait to see Kun play against pool.
im sad for Ivan because he was consistent all season until he got injuried…. now he might loose out on player of the season… because malouda was right behind him on performances…. now malouda is inthe lead.. it will be hard for ivan to regain good form
Ok Michael, cool
cheers Denver and Karma
BC, change the theme back. Like it neater and bigger avatar
BC I think the new theme is great. well see tomorrow whether it’s lucky or not!
also michael you know that trolls like you aren’t welcome here or anywhere. and stop saying cheers after everything. it makes you look retarded
Good morning/evening everybody wherever you are. Just wanted to post a nice link from youtube from season 1999/00 to pour salt in the wounds of manure.

By the way BC, I almost choked in my morning coffee seeing the new theme. But after a while it kinda grew on me. The font size should maybe by default be slightly smaller, but you might have had Mike Dean in your minds (missing 2 penalty calls and an off-side, LOL)
Thank you BC for your commitment to Chelsea and this site.
