Chelsea 2-4 Man City | Poor . . . everything

Is this the worst game for us at Stamford Bridge considering the circumstances? Surely there was a build up to this defeat. The off-pitch problems and their effect on the pitch, the injuries, the continuous poor-team-selections, the insuficient bench, the ineffective subs and I can go on. Just 10 more matches to go. The lead is just 1 point. The morale is certainly down after the defeats against Inter and now Man City.

This is where Ancelotti comes in. This is where he earns his multi-million contract. To have Chelsea fight for the title is difficult task. Any manager can achieve that. In the next 10 matches, Ancelotti needs to prove what he is made of. I know you feel like ranting forever. Use this space. I’ll be back with my views after I’ve calmed down. Keep the faith!

I´d blame Ancelotti for today´s defeat, then Ballack, then Hilario, then Mikel, then Belleti, then DD (stop being fucking selfish, its costing the team DD!!!). We were simply tactically outplayed and raped at our own yard. Its the worst defeat in past 8 years i think.

5. Lampard and the Blues - 27th Feb

I cant emphasize enough on the negatives of this game. There are wayyyy too many !! Firstly, the team was playing good possession football, not letting City get a hold of the ball. That was good because it isolated their attackers and got them under pressure. Lamps scored a good goal was a very good precision shot.

Now I’d like to stress on the goal. It was a goal created by good passing movement which troubled the City defenders; it got them to commit in all the wrong places. Lamps found space and he finished it brilliantly. After we went down 2-1, we did not pass and move. We took shots from distance that had no accuracy and power. It worked at Milan because Cesar was not in the best of conditions. It did not work here simply because Given is probably the best keeper in the world. He knows what positions to get himself into, he know when and how to dive and is very courageous. Even the best of long distance shooting would be useless against a keeper of this quality. We got the late penalty because of a pass and move attack. Thats what we should’ve done. We didn’t do it. We lost.

I soo wanted to win this game for JT. This just gives me the scary thought that Mourinho’s Inter will now know exactly what to do against us in 3 weeks time. Remember, we NEED to pass and move. Someone PLEASE CONVEY THIS TO OUR MANAGER. PASS AND EFFIN MOVE !!

Players to blame:
1= Hilario = He was a total clown today. I was on the floor laughing most of the times when he was in action. Two stupid goals conceded. If Cech was there, we would still be up 1-0 by 50 minutes and who knows, we could’ve won.
2= Ballack = Pretty cynical tackle on Tevez from someone so experienced as Ballack. I just felt he didn’t have the stones to stay on the pitch while City were crowned winners after 90 minutes.
3= Anelka = Is being played behind Drogba for some reason and for the life of me, I do not understand why ! He and DD can work together in tandem soo well, they are a good pair that can communicate so well so why put Anelka behind DD and isolate the Ivorian ? Anelka for me also slowed down our attacks, was indecisive and too slow on the ball.

Pathetic game. We can only hope now that we gather some form towards this fag end of the season. We won’t last in the CL and PL if this goes on. What a sad outcome.

KTBFFH !!

6. trueblue - 27th Feb

We were pathetic today.Team was very bad.Defence has been weakened by off-field problems,injuries.etc.Nothing going our way at the moment.Just hoping the best happens for us.

PS : This thought just passed through my mind : “A trilogy against Man Utd”

7. Nayanesh - 27th Feb

Well, what can i say guys??I’ll put it this way-40 something minutes of complete domination, the rest complete capitulation.

8. SB_4_life - 27th Feb

C’mon guys, let’s keep our chins up. We can’t give up like this. I can understand where the frustration is coming from. Luck is always against us. But ranting and raving about it won’t help matters. This is where champion mentality counts. We’re still top of the league. Still the team to beat to get to the title. We’re still looking down upon the rest of the pack and i don’t know about you guys, but i would still rather be in our shoes than in the others’.

Now for some analysis :
1. Ancelotti is really messing up his team selections the past few games. It’s a disappointment considering the experience the guy’s got. Why on earth was Malouda at left-back again today? I know he didn’t make too many mistakes and had a decent game, but that doesn’t take away from the poor decision to play him there. It just gives an impetus to the opposing team to concentrate their attacks through our left and try and unsettle the patched up defence. In my opinion, and i think most of you would agree with me here, the line up should have been : (4-3-3) Hilario, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Ferreira/Belletti,Mikel,Ballack,Lampard,Cole,Malouda,Drogba.
2.Another disappointment is some of the decision making regarding substitutions.Kalou for Cole was baffling. What Ancellotti saw in that one i don’t know.Cole was having his best game of the season after his injury and it was a senseless decision. To make matters worse, Kalou didn’t perform anywhere close to what was expected of him. As against Inter, he tried to dribble to much. All our attacks ended at his feet.Sturridge was played out of position and didn’t really have a chance to do anything construcive.Studge n Anelka should have swapped flanks as soon as he came on. If you notice, the right footed Anelka was playing on the left and the left footed Sturridge was playing on the right.
3.There seems to be a hangover from the Scolari days about having elaborate build ups to attacks. The players try to paly these cute little passes around the opposition box and it doesn’t work because other teams always get men behind the ball against us. There really is no space or time to play those inticate and elaborate passes. When we have two big men upfront in Didi n Anelka, why should we play the kind of football Arsenal plays? We should be knocking balls into those two target men and rely on their ability in holding up the ball till others like Lampsey and Ballack make runs into those attacking areas.
4.Mikel had a bad game today. The first goal was so poor it makes me damn angry just thinking about it. Even after Mikel had made a hash of the headed clearance, how on earth did Tevez manage to score? surely Carvalho n Terry should have taken care of it between themselves. If you look at the goal again, Cravalho just gives up after turns and goes away from him. Had he atleast attempted to try and get back to the goal, he would have saved the ball from going in. I think it’s time to invest in a young but fairly experienced centre back.
5. We gave away so many silly freekicks after conceding 2 goals today. I just got the feeling that the players had lost belief after the 2nd one went in. The frustration was evident.

9. SB_4_life - 27th Feb

On and i forgot to mention one thing….it really angered me how Wayne Bridge kept celebrating City’s goals. He had forgotten that he won two titles with us. He chose to have a grudge against the club as a whole while we showed our appreciation for what he did here by clapping him off when he was substituted. Sad really. He was a favourite among us. Remember that goal against Arsenal in the Champions League Q/F at Highbury in 2003-04? He lost my respect today.

KTBFFH !!!

11. Kron King - 27th Feb

I have nothing to say Bridge I never expected that from him, everyone makes mistakes and I think Our coach should know that Malouda black front not back he should let him play his Game and make good use of Joe Cole and concentrate on winning the Leaguem hw abt out Third keeper Hilaro is just pissing me off he should not be paid for a week whatever I am mad

oh come on dont give a knee jerk reaction lets wait till end of season we had a good first half until the goal just bad 50 min thats all eho says manu will not drop points it will boil to ot clash i hope we have all players cech essien zhirkov deco back and if essien and cech played i think everything would have played even jose struggled when we had injuries cech essien are core of the team we seriously need a good back up to cech sad we have to wait for 8 days to get victory feeling back

14. Sid - 27th Feb

First time on this blog. Just a shame it is after a game like this. We were pathetic 2nd half. It was more like control in the 1st half and total caputilation after their 1st goal. Really disappointed today but the bright side is we still top if only by the skin of our teeth.

15. CFCIR - 27th Feb

Worst day of the year ,Arsenal is fucking back to race,After a clown show by Carlo Ancelotti men,This only give Inter Milan spirit to score 4 goals at bridge ,easily
CHELSEA BAD DAY COMES AT THE WORST TIME,IF CHELSEA ELIMINATED FROM CL,I WONT WATCH ANY CHELSEA GAMES ,UNTIL NEXT SEASON.

16. Maysam - 27th Feb

Today was a day we lost EPL to Manchester and CL to Inter.
It is too early but remember what I wrote here today at the end of season.

17. TruePlatinum - 27th Feb

Skysports were doing some statistical analysis, Hilario conceeds about 40% of shots on target.
Really let down by several players today but I think everyone feels had Cech been playing, we may well have held out for a draw. I didn’t like the team selection, the tactics were not a good set, we were constantly ran against. I think I saw our defence 2 against 5 at one point, for a team like us, that is unacceptable, the only reason Ancelotti hasn’t come down hard on the team is because he knows a good portion of the mistake was his.
I pray Essien, Zhirkov and Bosingwa come back soon.
Im in shock that the team we beat 6-0 about 2 years ago has just done the double over us.

Also skysports were saying, that if the results preceeding were to reoccur (eg when chelsea play villa and wigan again and lose + man utd plays fulham and everton again and lose) Chelsea would still win the title with 81 points so Im not too distraught, however, I think todays result is close to the 3-0 loss to man utd last season in terms of feeling.

Ancelotti really needs to iron out some creases, I know its hard with an injury scrapped team, but I think moving Ivanovic to centreback (he is our quickest centreback it appears) will make us less prone to being out paced at the back. I think signing a player like David James would do us alot of good, selling Cudicini was always a questionable move as we had no real back up keeper after cech, the gulf between hilario and cech is huge.

Some pace would not hurt us. I think it was Denver that mentioned it recently although I had abit of a rant in the past, ashley young would be a very good purchase for us (also think Tom Huddlestone and Pepe from Real Madrid).
The thing that winds me up the most is that Man Utd tend not to slip up much at this part of the season. Now we have ballack and belletti unavailable for a good while, not what we needed at all.

Terry is not controlling the team enough for me, he isn’t playing particularly badly but he isn’t playing well either. As said before, the title is ours to lose rather than to win. We’ve just thrown away a 4point gap….AGAIN

18. Peter - 27th Feb

One of the worst results I have ever seen from us. I thought we were safe after Lampard’s goal, especially since we were looking pretty fluid on the pitch. The freak goal from Tevez just before the half really turned things around. What was Hilario doing?? These are the days when we start missing Cudicini, whom we let go on a free transfer…?

Are we lacking discipline? I’m not talking about off the pitch (don’t even get me started), but on the pitch we seem to always have these lapses. Opposing teams are pouncing on these minor lapses, and this is why we constantly drop points. I hate to reference the Mourinho days, but it was obvious we were more disciplined on the pitch back when he was in charge. We could always count on our central defense of JT and Carvalho, but not anymore. These guys look very shaky. But by no means do I want Ancelotti to leave. I think he’s done a decent job. But perhaps he needs to tighten things down or something. The Joe Cole–Sturridge substitution was very very poor. Joey was playing well and creating, probably in his best form since returning.

We can’t start blaming bad luck due to injuries or whatever. Man United and other top teams have their own share of injuries. We just need to toughen up and start playing as if every title belongs to us! The off-field distractions are affecting them, subconsciously. I have this feeling that the dressing room isn’t the same ever since this JT saga broke out. Many may disagree, but I think it has to have some effect. Carlo is not strong in man-management. He seems to be very hands off and lets the players do their thing. This is why it is ever so important that JT and vice-captain Lampard step up and lead. They need to get the team together and wake everyone the f**k up, including themselves.

19. Malagantz - 27th Feb

sent to browntown again :( …………. i really hope this is the last time because i don’t think the gap can ever open again at this late stage (hope i’m wrong)

20. Zico - 27th Feb

I overslept and missed a chunk of the match, the part which I saw was aint pretty either. Its time Carlo puts down his foot and
starts acting like a boss. Playing Malouda as a LB seemed to have disrupted the defense line. He made a huge blunder in selecting the team and covered it up with an even bigger ones. It was evident that we need some quicker legs in midfield, Mikel who has been very good over the last few weeks shot me in the skull.

The players dropped their heads immediately after they scored the second, no one was willing to take this game by the scuff of its neck. JT how often lifts the team, somehow coudnt even lift his performance. Something also tells me that Carlo dosent want Joe Cole anymore, there has been no progress on that front and we might see him next season in red (as per the rumors). Ballack is suspended for the game against Stoke in the FA cup.

Without Essien we are nothing in midfield. If he is back before the Inter game I think we have a glimpse of hope in both the League and the CL, or else its another painful summer.

21. the real blues - 27th Feb

Many Chelsea fans have commented at the lack of class of City fans. Ever heard the expression “pot calling the kettle black”?. How can you boo a former player who has done nothing wrong? When you have a captain who:
i) messes around with his best mates missus
ii) takes back handers for stadium tours
iii) has parents who deserve to be in prison for their misdemeanors .

If you lot had morals you would boo your own man, but alas we can’t expect that.

4-2 is just desserts for you lot, and whilst it gifts ManU a chance of the title, perhaps you deserve it.

22. JoseHoliday - 27th Feb

Ha ha ha ha ha ha LOL LOL LOL LOL

We lost to Inter twice in a week !

But C’mon everyone was a bit tired…… fans included… it’s been an emotional excrutiating week !

We’re made out of sterner stuff…. but Carlo can we be a bit more intelligent after long air trips and what not ?

But I’ll say this season even if we win it it’ll be be to a great degree depending on what ManUre does….

Oh fuck our destiny is not in our own hands ….. But I’ll cheer up… maybe we need this calamity rather now than in the last 2 games…. but what a fuck-up of a game… Carlo didn’t communicate to the players something like … calm down… keep possesion…. blah blah… sure does help 20- 30 year old people when someone older calms ‘em down … they might be pros football-wise but they’re still in need of a steadying voice !

23. Hashim - 27th Feb

Guys relax. What can Ancelotti do, our squad was injured. We should;ve bought a midfielder and a striker during January but it was a waste. Essien will be back in 2 weeks, along with Deco, Bosingwa, Alex, Zhirkov. Once these guys come back we’ll be set till the season ends. This only makes us stronger and better, and our home record..forget about it. We already set a 4 year history with it. We’ll come back, destroy Inter and JM 4-0 at the bridge, we’ll lift the title at Old Trafford and were gonna get the cup with the big ears at Madrid.

Long term Injuries: Cech(month), A Cole(season),—I thought the list was longer..

24. JoseHoliday - 27th Feb

25. TerryLampsCech - 27th Feb

cmon guys…..it’s English Premier League…not Scottish or Serie A…..
look at the statistics…..@ the end of the season…between the champion and 2nd/3rd, it’s only separated by 3-4 points…
it’s still wide open….keep believe….

26. Jo - 27th Feb

With cech missing from action and Hilario in his place and with the long list of injuries and the way chelsea played in the second half i predict that inter knock out chelsea from the champions league and ManU win the premier league with Arsenal in second place. The players lacked patience and confidence after going down two goals. If only they were cool and passing the ball like they were in the first half, the result would have been different.

27. cfc - 27th Feb

Sometimes i feel , do we really need to play 100,000 + pounds to deco, around 75,000 to Paulo Ferreria, who may play less than 10 matches every season.. The reason, I bring this is after a tough away game in, CL, we need fresh players for today game and ancelloti does only one change – joe cole for salmon kaluo, who didn’t even complete 90 min at San siro. Hilario was forced change.. But again, what does Ancelloti do, he has set of injured players.. He did rotate his squad in the begining of the season.. I haven’t seen deco play all games in 1 month.. Ballack can’t play consistenly for one month.. any way the red card, will give him some rest ..

I felt , we should have been atleast 7 points ahead of Man United at this moment.. Games against city should have been draw’s – In dec, city had around consecutive draws and then we lose to them.. now we lose to city when they have not won in 5.. I also feel we seriously dropped points against everton and west ham in dec.. Hope this doesn’t bite us back..

because we started our season with teams from bottom half, we have to play three tough away games in the end – Man United, Liverpool and Spurs and i feel Man U have a easier draw because they just have to go to City..

Hope we win atleast one of PL or CL.. else the pressure will be on Ancelloti..

28. Jo - 27th Feb

I strongly believe chelsea will become a better team after this…as this game showed our weakness…
1.Hilario need to improve for example positioning and reaction.
2.mikel need to clear his needless mistakes.
3.we need to keep composure and pass more often.
4.defenders need to be aware of fast breaks.

Lampard and Jcole seems to be improving and I thinl we c an see their form in the next few games. What we need nw is the confidence and focus.Ancelotti must do his job.fally the players and make them fight for every game

I was quite upset with bridge celebration…bridge was part of the blue family last time and he wouldn’t leave iif he had more playing time..chelsea will nt sell a gd player like him for no reason..but nw he’s in man city and the scandal broke the friendship between terry and him..sad to c this…also a cole seems to be having a rough time…

29. ph0bolus - 27th Feb

An injured Cech could of saved those goals minus the pen..Hilarious has no confidence whatsoever..

Ballack should of been taken off instead of Mikel..At least the lumbering idiot got himself red carded so we won’t have to see his slow ass run around the pitch misplacing passes anymore…

Joe Cole and Carvahlo off and Kalou and Sturridge comes on? Cole was one of the better players on the pitch and set up Lampard’s goal, and Carvahlo was pretty solid in the back except for being turned inside out by Tevez…It was good to see Ancelloti try and go for the win, but subbing Kalou and Sturridge who aren’t really game changers in wrong positions definitely didn’t help

Where the hell was Ferriera? I thought the only reason he didn’t play at the San Siro was because he wasn’t registered? Why the hell would you still play a winger at LB when you have a fullback somewhat capable of playing there?

30. DanaBlue - 27th Feb

Yesterdays defeat was probably the worst display from a Chelsea team I have seen for the last 25 years. Not only due to the poor football, but the complete lack of motivation to turn things around. I do not want to single anyone out, because the entire team including Carlo was farcical.
Some say we were tired. Tired my arse, how hard can it be to sit in a fucking luxury bus been driven to the airport, sit in First class, luxury bus to the stadium, play 90 mins of football, a little media work. Then luxurious return to London a few days of light training in the worlds most luxurious training ground. Then at match day get from your Surrey mansion to the Bridge.
Come on guys (team) how spoilt can one get and still perform like a 4th division team with massive hangovers from last nights drinking binge.
I am so disappointed, but still I believe we can win the EPL, CL and FA-cup, but someone (Carlo) needs to kick some fucking reality sense into our team and get them to perform in accordance with their hugely inflated pay checks and the fans expectations.
Lastly if the JT story is affecting the team spririt in the dressing room, then do as Capello; take the fucking consequences and get on with it.

31. the real blues - 27th Feb

joseholiday.

you missed the point pal – many of your congregation spat their dummies out after the City v Pompey game, when the players wore “team Bridge” shirts, saying city were classless. Then your brethren boo Bridge throughout the game yesterday. Many think that the lack of class comes from the centre half who played in blue with the dodgy haircut

32. Joe - 27th Feb

This is going to be a even harder season to watch than last. We have had the easiest of all the big 4′s start to a season and we have not capitalised on it. Anyone who has watched us recently cannot argue that we have been poor…. at best.
There are similarites between how we were playing under Scolari and now, we have no plan B. I have lost confidence in Ancelotti and feel that he is struggling to get to grips with the way the prem works, it is nothing like serie A, (although he only managed to deliver that once!) his treatment of Joe Cole against Man City was nothing short of ignorance. Joe was the most dangerous Chelsea player on the pitch who had already set up Lamps’ goal and warmed Givens hands with a stinging shot, however Ancelotti beleived that Anelka and Ballack were having more of a influence on the game?!! Genius! Then as if to compound things his 3 substitutions backfired big time, Belletti on for Mikel lost the ball in his own half to Barry and then brought him down for Man Citys penalty, Sturridge on for Cole never made even the smallest impact and looked like a young man who has yet to get the first team games under his belt to make the step up and Kalou for Carvalho, Kalou once again ran into dead ends and produced very little positive. If this is a example of what is to come in the next few months then get ready Chelsea fans for a spring of discontent…. its going to be painful.

Come back Jose.

33. JoseHoliday - 27th Feb

I hope this rot does not continue….

Fans aghast …… Roman biting his lip and mumbling…….Ballack acting like a teenager etc….

Cos soon the chants will start……. Jose,Jose,Jose… Jose……

Then I might hafta change my nickname to JoseBackToWork …..

The loss in San Siro strangely did not affect me or most by the looks of the blog etc….. But last night’s show was like being kicked in the testicles once… again…and then again….. and finally a fourth time.. !
Mancini-mancitee must be laughing their socks off on a such a soft win !

Ahhh I see…… Mr Real Blues….. Me No like lack of class anywhere by anyone…. I certainly those cretinous remarks by the classless elements of Chelsea’s supporters cease.

@JoseHoliday, please read this blog link, it represents what many people felt at the way Wayne was treated by certain imbecils in the stands yesterday

I and many other chelsea fans/supporters for sure feel the same way.

35. pakool - 27th Feb

hey all

36. hotseafydo - 27th Feb

i have taken a few hours to reflect on the loss to man city and all i can see is more underlying issues. in the short term, we are bedeviled with injuries to key players (cech, essien, a.cole, bosingwa, alex etc ). secondly we are not playing as a team whose know the essence of keeping to a formation. we got pretty too OVER CONFIDENT and a few players lost it (hilario, ballack, belleti, mikel)

having said that, and looking at our fixtures, we will really need CA to put his skills into place and i just have the creepy feeling we are going to bottle up towards the end of the season. we had all the impetus to pull away since however we kept missing it. ManU and Arsenal will drop points (yes Arsenal, they are in the title race NOW) but i fear ours may be more.

While i sincerely hope for the best (no more injuries, return of players from injuries and to form, luck), we can keep the good faith but we must all play our part by saying our displeasure to the team and CA, A quiet fan base means results are acceptable and no pressure on the team to perform.

37. Pola - 27th Feb

I was nursing the anger from the defeat, we got from Inter Milan in the CL match, and the worst happened. This is the worst Chelsea match I have ever seen. Too poor performance for a team like Chelsea. Ancoleti should try to be diplomatic on how to use the players correctly and also make vital changes and on time. He contributed to the lost of the game.
Chelsea defense was one of the best before. I am wondering what is happening at the moment, why it has become so easy to break Chelsea defense and score. Even if a team want to play attacking game, it is not the reason why they should open chances of conceiving a goal. These days almost all the players are going for attack which is highly dangerous for our back(defense).
Micheal Balack is a player with strong mentality that is good, but his contribution is becoming limited. Disappointing of him Playing arrogantly last afternoon. I still do not know the reason why he cannot be changed with a faster player who can run fast on the right attack and create scoring chances for the strikers Didier, Anelka and the rest of them. I suggest the like of Bosingwa who is fast to Balack, as soon as he recover from his injury. I admire the good job Ivanovic is doing, but sometimes it use to be very stressful for him Ivanovic running from the attack to defend, as Balack fail most of the time to covers his position very well when he is on overlap. I strongly believe that the combination of Ivanovic on the right back and Bosingwa on the right front will do great in the team.
Hallario have no proffesional goal keeping experience to be in chelsea. I was dissappionted in him yesterday.
I admire the combination of Ashley Cole or Zhirikov to Malouda which yields good result. Malouda should not continue with left position even though he did good on these two occasions, but I still know he is better on left attack than back.
Chelsea is a good team with undoubtably qualities of players. Football is planning, I beleive we must win if we plan very well and use the players wisely without exposing our weakness to our opponents. Yes, football is a game one can loose sometime but not like Chelsea have been doing in this few occassions especially last afternoon against Man City.
I believe Chelsea can still make it if we take positive corrections our mistakes and come back fully strong. I wish us the best of luck. Come on Chelseaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

38. JoseHoliday - 27th Feb

When talking of underlying issues it does seem some are burning under the surface.

We have an Italian coach who should be getting us the best defensive management there is anbd be tactically astute blah blah etc…..

The senior players are also becoming undone in a way as said above i.e.

1. Ballack being arrogant and a trite petulant
2. Drogs trying to do it all
3. Lamps trying the hell hard but having to be everywhere
4. JT : what can I say : look at his hair cut !
5. Carvalho : the man is a shadow of his old slef
6. Joe Cole : unused and when on- field maybe told to do things he can’t do
7. a whole lot of oldies doing light-training never playing pension

There’s a pattern emerging in CA’s management ! Thaz throwing away solid leads in the league…. and losing and drawing at the mid table and the pack at the bottom. And CA trying to play the same team week in week out !

OK OK let me make my position clear : Never did like CA…….or Mancini for that matter ; Nothing against Italians either cos was big fan of Tinkerman.

But I think the problem is that CA should respect the Premier League with more than just lip service and a demure look about the face. In the EPL, lower teams don’t calculate and shit-ass-foul their way thru games : they play to win….
this ain’t Calcio-match-rigging-viva-whoever- is- slimiest league !

If Chelsea win the league this year it will be 70% because ManUre fades away…. U see I don’t want it like that…
THIS team ain’t AC… we ain’t AC fans ….. and

what ancelotti should do in next game:
1. remove terry(obviously he’s still not return to his best, and seems like he’s slowing down)
2. bring in someone who is more reliable in LB positon
3.make sure that hilario is more reliable next time
4. play 4-2-3-1 and malouda on the left midfield position..i saw the game vs barcelona many times and i see no way other team could beat us if we play like that

40. JoseHoliday - 27th Feb

I wonder what would happen if I ( JoseHoliday ) slept with Wayne Bridge’s ex- GF 6 months after he left her…. Please keep in mind that he left her and she was SINGLE / UNMARRIED and it wasn’t forced upon her !

(Mother of his kid part etc : The kid is an innocent and should not even be mentioned )

A case in real life : Long long ago far far away…. less than 6 months after I left a GF and she bonked a buddy o mine .. and the bloke when drunk actually came to me when drunk and asked.. if he should go all the way…. I said F… K O..ff , I’m havin a drink u shit !

..So he shook his his head looked the sky .. bought me a drink , profusely thanked me and left….

I didn’t lose me job…. no-one booing… no flaky T shirts..
The end….( find ur own damn moral of the story )

Thaz why this whole Terry- Bridge saga / no-story story confounds me !

Hashim: you missed Essien – and I was missing him quite a lot against ManCity, especially when watching horrible Mikel and Belletti mistakes. This could not have happened, had Essi been there… Hope he will be back as soon as possible; our midfield with Ballack and Lamps is sooo slow and ineffective without him.

I really start being worried about JT and Mikel. Lets see the first goal that we conceded (and that turned things round). Mikel plays a POOR defensive header straight into the path of Tevez – Terry and Carvalho offer each other to do the tackle – finally no one does it, Tevez rounds JT like a youth-team player and shoots (horribly slow) to the far post – Hilario is caught wrong-footed and unable to move in the right direction. I did not expect anything from Hilario, as he is not good enough for Chelsea. But I expect quite a lot from other ones and they simply allowed this to happen.

42. denver - 27th Feb

Quoting TruePlatinum

Agreed!! we have given up a 4 point lead.. what twice… CA needs to wake up and realize that this ain’t Italy…. the league is very competitive!!
we keep loosing our advantage over united…. he needs to put an end to this.. for the love of God…. he should stop forcing a midfielder to play LB when we have LBs available.
people stop putting blame on drogba…. thats what influential players do when there team is down them try to force the issue take the game by the neck!!.. he just needed service.

it show the upper management that we have little influential subs….. we just got a starting 11

I am still in shock, but its its clear… they need to wake the fuck up and stop dropping points all over the place like this!!!

another thing .. the team seems to panic too easily .. it happened in roma CL it happen here… pushing too many men forward, leaving MIKEL to track a counter (he is slow) and then blame mikel, mikel did his best… force the player !!that has much more pace than him wide….

WE chelsea are paying for not fixing the problem from last season….. a good back up keeper example (hart, Ustari, a german keeper!), faster, stronger (physical) more creative midfielders example (diago, snijder, Bastian, ribbery, Melo, Gago, Rakitic, Afaley, ben arfa, Ozil, Stephen sessongon (a lyon player or two..lol… create talents!) ) PLEASE NOTE we have never replaced ROBBEN… for the love of God i dont why….the man was a killer, class finishing strikers!! example (Kun, podulski, Roman, Klose, Hulk, Pato, )

i cant recall any team beating us 2-4 at the bridge…. wow needs to be fix ASAP!! all champions have a water locked defense!!

man malouda was in no way a replacement for robben. i like malouda he is stronger.. but directness and running at defenders… we have not replaced that for our counter attacks.. I remember robben and DUFFER used to cause a lot of problems on counter with lead to goal.. we simple sold that out and didnt replace it…. just because we wanted to going into a different direction!!,

asshole Scolari should have bought bastian from the EURO that year.. but they fucked around and he sign on for a few more years with bayern ! ribber was cheap… they fucked around he went to bayern.. diago is damn good they fucked around hey went to juve.. now is our best chance to get him…. based on juves slide downwards. we fucker around snidjer went to inter!!….

Denver mate, your words are being heard clear

For a while, we never really had the ability to turn the game on its head. Yeah Drogba has done afew magical things this season, but he is one man. Ancelotti obviously thinks he has youngsters that can, but they aren’t playing at that level yet. They need time and a tutor, what better tutor than a player?
Just like Johnny Evans learns when he plays with Vidic, players like Gael Kakuta need guys like Ashley Young to train with. Joey has not been the same since SWP was sold, he knows he’s good so I don’t think he tries (personally)
but everything Denver is saying says volumes. We aren’t in crisis, but we are missing the extra edge. I hated the Inter game because Mourinho had so much depth. Mourinho has players like Quaresma, Santon, Balotelli, Pandev and muntari sitting on the bench!
It is one thing Mourinho has always talked about, depth. We had around 28 players before Scolari. Injuries went almost un-noticed because there was always a guy to produce the result from the bench. When Frank Lampard lost his mum, when Ashley Cole was caught cheating, when Eboue broke John Terry’s toes we had Ballack, Bridge and Alex as benchwarmers and they stepped up and won us games. We have the drive, still missing a little extra.

“Malouda was Robben replacement .. If I remember , Jose has a choice between Malouda and Ribbery and he chose Malouda .. “

Im certain that if you search espn and skysports archives, you will find interviews from Mourinho on the day he signed Malouda saying “malouda is not a replacement for robben”
quite frankly, they aren’t. Malouda is a physical midfielder, robben is a true winger, fancy footwork and blistering pace

I dont think the rumours are quite true though mate. If Hamsik and Napoli finish the season well, he might make the move (Ballack isn’t getting any younger, 34?, I would guarantee he’ll retire this year if we win champions league) I hope Ancelotti will take note of how injuries hamper chances and sign a winger and wingback. Names on my wishlist being Ashley Young and Kieran Gibbs.

Our guys get a nice long rest now to refocus for the stoke game. We need a 3goal margin on sunday to re-establish momentum

49. Pola - 27th Feb

Blaming Drogba is a damn mistake. Chelsea should adopt a wining partern in their games especially in a difficult conditions.
Manu Utd game partern is Valencia and Roney connection, and it have been working for them. Without that Roney is nothing.
The strikers should not be alone strikers without a partern of connecting them with the ball.
Younger and talented players need to be engage in with contract in the team, because elderly age goes with injuries and thats what the team is suffering at the moment.

i can go on and on and Grant is better all the way :) ten times better

First things first, once again we were poor, and heyjose dont come saying this is knee jerk reaction. I am not for sacking any manager now. However the problem was partly his and partly the players’. I have made this point here over and over again. Stats have made the players selfish in their approach with everyone trying to score for himself. Drogba and Lampard the worst culprits. Lampard feels he needs to get his 20 something goals or he would b termed a failure. He keeps popping them from impossible positions with team mates in better positions. Anybody also agree with me that the performance of the team has deteriorated since Drogba got back into the team? When the Africans left for Angola the media said we would suffer for it. Guess what? we played some of our best games in that period. During that time Ancelloti changed his system from the diamond to 4-3-3. There was room for Joe Cole on the right and Malouda on the left. Anelka had a field day scoring for fun. THen Drogba got back, Anelka had to b accomodated cos he was scoring goals so what does the manager do, he moves him to the right and sticks Drogba upfront. Anelka best plays through the middle after the lead striker. We have all seen this. Above all this is that, i feel Drogba’s fixation with overtaking Rooney for the golden boot is hampering the team. He feels he has to get the goals. He has become selfish in the extreme.

Next point, I have to agree, now it seems some of our players have become old and can’t cope with the premier league. The team looks tired and jaded. We lack ideas upfront. This is surprising giving that the team is rotated. However the tough part is there is not much we can do abt it. Michael Ballack was awful as he has been most of this season i believe this would b his last season with us. His wages r too much and he is a drain on the club.

Why do i get the feeling these two referees have it in for Chelsea Football Club : Mike Dean and Phil Dowd. Anyone go back and check the matches we’ve lost over the years. In a match they officiate involving us, whenever momentum changes against us they make sure we lose.

Carlo needs to up his game, i still believe he is the right man for the job. However i feel he doesnt want to upset the big players. Lampard, Terry, Drogba et al have not been playing well lately. He needs to let them know it and do something to stem the tide.

Hilario is a joke, even Chelsea can have a better second keeper than that. Sad thing though is the keeper we bought over the summer is even worse seems the technical team placed their hopes in Cech.
We can still win it, it’s not too late. Carlo needs to up his game, play Ferreira at left back and move Malouda forward.

56. KarmaCW - 27th Feb

8. SB_4_life,
I agree with you cent-per-cent!

21. the real blues,
We booed him because he didn’t shake JT’s hand, we booed him because he didn’t look like an ex-Chelsea player, he was more like anti-Chelsea. Chelsea didn’t do him anything wrong, and his goal celebrations were to hurt us. But don’t you forget how we applauded when he was substituted!

The match:
Hillario was hilarious!

We played better when we were 2 men down, we showed passion and the drive, but it was too little too late because we conceded a foolishly cheap goal in teh first half. Going to the dressing room at 1:0 and 1;1 is totally a different scenario. I would blame Hilario solely for that goal, helped by Terry and Riccy!

Malouda was a passionate team mate, his run and excitement in celebrating our first goal was so nice. I wish Ancellotti would play him and the left while Ferreira or Ivanovic takes left full back position. We miss so much of Malouda’s pace and creativeness up the left flank.

My starting 11 in the coming match is:

Malouda………..Didier………..Joey

Lampsy……………………Sturridge

…………………Mikel……………….

Ivanovic….Terry…Alex….Ferreira

………………..Hilario……………….

Nico/Kalou can replace Sturridge.

Kalou in the last game was horrible…he took too long to take a decent shot, he is so wasteful. Ancelotti got it fully wrong to take a well-performing Joey off! Joey should have played for more time.

Referee was too kind not to show yellow to irksome richards! He also failed to award us a clear corner at 67th minute. And his excitement in awarding a penalty to mancs was a clear indication that he hates us.

Chelsea needs loads of good luck and i am praying all the time….come on, you can do it…COME ON BLUES!

If we look at the month of march, we have the following games

Stoke ( FA)
West Ham ( home PL)
Inter ( home CL)
Blackburn (away PL)
Portsmouth (away PL)
Villa (home PL)

Other than the CL game and Villa game, the other games are not bad and I think if we need to be champions, we have to win others comfortably.

For the CL game, I am praying that Essien and Zhirkov are fit . Joe cole has to play to break that stubborn inter defence which will be nosing around drogba.. I will continue to play Maluda as left back and give more freedom to zhirkov as left winger because he is another player who can break that defense.. Carvalho should be rested after stoke game and preferably terry also .. if essien doesn’t make, ballack should also not play west ham game keeping him fit for CL .. Goals will have to come from some one else as only way drogba finds space is a red card to lucio or samuel..

Remember if we defend well ,even a 1-0 result will send us through.. but 2 goals diff is a safe margin, remembering last year heartbreak .. It is due , we need some divine intervention to send u through..

59. IwasMissingJose - 27th Feb

@MatBlue and KarmaCW completely agree with you. You guys read my mind there.

@Real blue fan: the main victim in this saga was NOT BRIDGE. It was TONI TERRY. And if she could forgive him, then there must be a reason. I don´t give a shit to Bridge, coz´even Vanessa seems to give shit about him. So his love affair seems one sided, and more, they are divorced.

Like Matblue said, players like simply looking to increase their Stats, and its hurting the team. We Cheer for the team first, and we cheer the player only when the team has won the game. So winning the game as a team is more important, and if players like DD, Lampard, Malouda, Joey don´t seem to copy that they should be excluded from the squad.

Anelka has been very unselfish the whole season. I´d single out Anelka for applause in the last game for all the efforts. Hilario doesn´t really seem to be on the mark and he´s old. We should try Turnbull. And like the guys above said, try only Belleti and Ferreira for LBs and not Malouda.

Mikel really worries me. We could have won that match had they not got their first goal. Mikel´s back pass cost us a vital win. He needs to be strictly instructed, no more back passes if he doesn´t get time to look who is there behind him. Buddy don´t head, and don´t shoot for goal, its not your thing. Play your best as CDM, and thats defence, strictly defence.

60. KarmaCW - 27th Feb

Yes…this whole saga should be off now, reasons:

1. It was bridge’s ex and bridge is ex-team mate. Why sth. involving two exs should be of so much attention? What would it really be from teh media if sth. like this was done by a manure or scoucer players?;
2. Vanessa played a big role in this…2 hands to clap;
3. If bridge wanted her pussy, he must know how to give her a good fuck…he couldn’t satisfy her, thus she went for Terry. If i were bridge, i would be doubly shy, for not being able to keep one’s partner and making it obvious that he was poor in bed. And his decision not to shake Terry’s hand makes him even cheaper…he is shameless, had he taken terry’s hand, i would have admired him, but he refused not to. And even his decision to leave from England squad is an act of a headless or shameless wanker. I have had enough….everybody have had enough, may be not the fucked up British media.
Only person that has a upper hand in this saga is Toni Poole, rest are all equal…but i think bridge is the cheapest of all, his actions tell it all!
And i hate hunched bellamy for being such a two-pence; and scarred argentine midget for going physical with Terry for no obvious reason!

Friends, forgive my language, but i can go further down the Italian’s cunt!

64. Lampard and the Blues - 27th Feb

Guys, I think I have a few ideas which Ancelotti should use if he wants to be successful against Inter in the upcoming Champions League clash at the Bridge. Let me know what you guys think:

1= Attack from the word go. We are a goal behind in terms of the overall tally and it would put Inter under initial pressure if we attack swiftly against them as soon as the match begins. Going 1-0 up in the first 10-15 minutes of the game (and 2-2 overall) will help boost the morale of our team after the San Siro misfiring.
2= Play Anelka right up front with Drogba. The Ivorian Beast is having a pretty impressive season but I noticed Lucio and Samuel could keep him under control because at his age he’s lost pace and did not receive a lot of service from the back. Anelka on the wings, the position he took in the first game, is useless. Play him right in line with Drogba because if you’ve noticed both create goals for each other when they play right up front TOGETHER.
3= Belletti at left-back will allow Malouda that free space and freedom that he needs in order to trouble the defence of Inter. Even though he did not do badly against them in the first-leg, we need his creativity up front on the left to trouble Maicon and keep him occupied defensively so that he does not make those attacking runs down the wings very often.
4= Mikel should be marking Sneijder at all times. This fellow quelled all of our attacks because he was free to stop the passing we tried to create. Mikel will be the best person to get to the ball before he does by staying with him at all times so that the attacking moves are not stopped for an Inter counter-attack !

Our formation should be :
———————————–Hilario (sadly)————————————–
—Ivanovic—————-JT———————-Riccy——————Belletti—-
———————————–Mikel————————————————
——————-Ballack————————————————————–
—————————————Lampard——————–Malouda———–
—————-Drogba—————————–Anelka—————————–

We can defeat Inter surely ! KTBFFH !!

66. Stringer Bell - 27th Feb

To anyone talking about firing Ancelloti under any circumstances…get a grip and start thinking about the bigger picture.

Even if we get knocked out by Inter Milan and Finish behind Arsenal this season, if Ancellotti gets fired I will start to become seriously worried about the way that our club is being run. We have had 5 managers at the club in the last 3 years and if the trend keeps going like some of you want it to then sooner or later we will run out of good managers to hire, and that might sound like a joke but its not. Since Mourinho left the way the club has been run has been a mess and its no coincidence that we havent won the league since.

Whoever we have had has been under strict orders at every conceivable level to play Mourinho’s players and win with them and get fired instantly if they don’t. When a manager tries something different, be it tactically or with new players, we have short sighted fans calling genuine greats of the game crap, getting on the managers back and certain players getting the hump and not playing for him, so its impossible to change anything, yet it’s he who has to take all the flack and lose his job if the good old regime doesn’t win. All the mean while our best players are getting older, at the moment most of them are still fantastic, but this season a couple are starting to creak and get worse (and I will name names – Terry, Carvalho and Ballack), and others will follow in the next year or two. Sooner or later we will need to make changes, I’m sorry to break it to you but Lampard Terry and Drogba will NOT be world class in 2 years. Believe it or not they won’t be good enough to have a top level team built around them. When that happens we will also need a different style of play. And doing this will take more than just one or, as it seems to be in some peoples tiny minds, no seasons. Rebuilding a team takes at least 2 years, and its unbelievably narrow minded to think that this can be achieved whilst hiring and firing a new manager every season.

We have one of the most successful managers in Europe, who has already built the 2nd or 3rd best team of the last decade and who we will need to stand by if we want to avoid having a squad consisting of

-a bunch of old men,
-semi competent and inexperienced young players
and multi million pound signings who are wasted on the bench because they can’t get the chance to get intergrated properly

in the near future. And people want him out because with 2 of our best players out for the season and Carvalho, Terry and Hilario playing like invalids we lose a couple of games. Pathetic. Whoever’s still acting like Jose Mourinho is bigger than our club should seriously get lost. I just hope Abramovic see’s things differently to you, although I’m not holding my breath.

Now lets get behind our manager and win the league.

67. CFCIR - 27th Feb

It is obvious roman abramovic wants the champions league more than anything,so if we knocked by Inter ,it’s hard to see Carlo continiuing.he only must win the CL.Roman will be pleased if we win the CL despite Fa cup and Epl failure.

69. IwasMissingJose - 27th Feb

There is no place for mistakes now Carlo. We have 10 games left and we need 10 wins. Players need to eat this fact, coz a smallest slip would cost us the title.

and I agree with Sringer Bell, its sheer foolishness to ask for Carlo´s sack (unless Hiddink is coming back). We were right to ask for sack of Grant and Scolari, coz they they were really poor at club level, they were without standards. But Carlo is one of the best we can get, and we should give him time (unless Hiddink is back!).

When you look at the england squad and look for people who will inspire you to win the world cup – only few names come up , Rooney, Gerrard, Terry & Rio .You will be left with only Rooney and Terry , if you include the recent injury troubles. Capello knows this in the back of his mind very much and he will not dare not to drop Terry, whatever no nonsense kind of manager he be..

Not that I want to , but Terry should probably come out and take a temporarily sabattical.. People would have realized the importance of Cole and Terry in football pitch..

Quoting Eamon

Bridge was more than right to refuse Terry’s hand. He showed refreshing honesty and didn’t join in that day’s hypocrisy.

He hates Terry, and Terry has become imensely unpopular.

I really hope he’ll be booed throughout tonight’s match. Everbody knows what he’s like. The fact that he’s started playing like a turd is new but VERY funny as well.

Hey…SHUT UP! Have had enough of this, why do you still want to carry on and re-stress on something that is obvious? If you can’t say anything good, keep shut than being a tuppence!

guys we just lost bosingwa for the rest of the season
plus essien’s recovery’s been delayed by a complication so his arrival will be delayed by a couple o weeks

Ross turnbull isn’t bad, but he is about on par with Hilario which isn’t good either
bit of a let down that we won’t see bosingwa this season, shame he is missing the world cup, he is a key player for portugal.
Worse that Essien is having problems, we all feel like we are suffering, a.cole is out, deco, bosingwa, essien, zhirkov most of the time, cech, ballack isn’t much better either and now Carvahlo might be crocked.

I think one or two players would not go amiss, I don’t like seeing the team ragged like this, the players are tired, starting to have to play out of their positions and under performing.

As for todays game, we need a big win and a cleansheet. Would like Sturridge to score a few but it is more necessary for the team to settle and gel again, plan ahead for the inter game
