Everton 2-1 Chelsea | Lead cut to one point now . . .
You saw it coming, didn’t you? A night of premier league fixtures involving Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal could have been lot different and better. What we saw a horrible night of football, with us losing while Man Utd gaining a point and Liverpool letting Arsenal win. I couldn’t watch the Chelsea match as it was not telecast live. I did see the goals though.
Until yesterday I thought that the 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge against Everton was our worst performance of the season (worse than the 3-1 defeat to Wigan). This defeat could just surpass that especially considering the time at which this has come. While I cannot make a comment about how we played I can tell you this much that John Terry was at fault for both goals. The first one, he allowed Saha to get forward and place a powerful header. The second one was terrible. At the edge of the box, Terry mistimed a jump while Saha collected the ball and punished us. He is always a thorn, Louis Saha. He is such a quality striker when he is on his feet. I remember this goal that he scored against us at Old Trafford. That was a gem. He’s come back to help his ex-club.
So where does this leave us? We’re just one point clear of Man Utd and 6 points clear of Arsenal. Basically the luxury of points is gone and so is the game-on-hand. So from now on the result of every match counts. There is no lead in points that we can afford to drop. This league has been very unpredictable and the trend continues. Fergie must be thinking that he missed a great opportunity but well Carletto must be thinking the same.
It could have been lot better but we are where we are. One thing’s for sure. Leading the table doesn’t matter any more. The teams are so close that positions of the table can keep changing in the next 12 matches. Let’s hope that we go on winning run. That’s all I can say at this moment.
dont worry we have everton who host manu and i dont see everton losing so dont worry our pts advantage will be increased
saw it comin but kept wishin it would’nt happen. .
chelsa what is wrong now with you loss to this low team and win the hard teams why
The club needs to let us know what their ambition is for the season. If they do not want a cup, they should let us know so we would stop having hope. We are sure to get the award for most considerate club cos we sure have a way of making average clubs look like premiership champion material. Clubs having a bad run also have a way of having their turn-around with us. Presently I do not have any hope for a cup anymore. We simply do not know how or have it in us as Nani said to go all the way. We always give the opposition hope when we should finish it off. Can you imagine if the situation was reversed I am sure ManU would not have lost that game especially with the advantage of knowing the scores of their opponent’s game.
Dear BC,
I am sorry if i have failed to write anything about the match, i couldn’t even send you a regret note. Just like you I couldn’t watch the match, so i may be excused from writing the article.
I have had my alarm set at 1.50 am, only to find manure vs villa and arse vs fool. I knew our match is at 2 am, so i checked all the channels at few minutes past 2 but no match, i re-set my alarm at 3.45 knowing that our match will be replayed after the two matches, but i missed my alarms, went into a deep slumber! I woke up only at 5.21 and rushed immediately and could catch the match at 72nd minute! Shortly Saha scored and i had a nightmare, morningmare! In my 23 minutes of watching the game, i found we were really pressing them and Drogba was working so hard and deserved a goal (he hit the crossbar yet again)! How i wished that Terry practised keeping his shots low; his shots from the periphery of D were like that of Beckham’s infamous penalty!
At work, i checked the news online and came to know the details of the match. And here is my little opinion:
1. Our boss made a mistake by laying Ashley, Zhirkov and Malouda all together! Too much of quality and quantity at the left side! It should either be Ashley and Malouda/Zhirkov or Malouda and Ashley/Zhirkov! Hope our boss will learn this soon enough;
2. I think Nico had a bad game, but why did Ancelotti take too long to substitute him? He should have been off at halftime;
3. Everton had always robbed points from us (2 draws in 2008-09) but they are useless in Merseyside Derby! I was hoping that Piennar’s absence would cost them dearly, i was wrong. But i am happy that despite playing a poor game, we created chances, only if we took them all;
4. I always supported Kalou from the bench than Kalou at the start, but i thought he wasn’t doing anything good for the team yesterday; only notable contribution was blocking Drogba’s goal-bound shot!
5. I must congratulate Cech for saving the penalty, it means a lot for him and may be a new lesson to Riccy;
6. Heard Terry was at fault for both the goals, but i would request friends to take it easy because he will bounce back; he just had an off day like Le Sulk!
7. My first 11 would have been:
Malouda…………Drogba…………Nico
…..Lampsy………………….Ballack….
………………….Mikel…………………..
Ashley….Terry….Riccy….Ivanovic…
……………………Cech………………..
Subs: Sturridge on for Nico at HT;
Zhirkov on when Ashley was injured;
Joey on for Ballack at around 60th minute; and
Kalou on for Malouda at 70th minute and Sturridge to move left.
Elsewhere, arse screwed fools and i am happy because arse is never a threat to the title, not that fools are but that i want fools to be away from CL next season! Villa could ahve taken 3 points off manure had it not been for Miss Luck that always sit with manure whenever they perform badly; but took two points off manure is the next best thing! Wolves screwed tots and i am elated; i want mancs in the 3rd or 4th place along with arse!
May Everton do us a favour at Goodison Park; and yes Nani will be absent!
I hope Ashley’s injury is a minor one.
yes..I was disappointed when see the score…..
Everton was good to produce dangerous crosses to Chelsea defence…shame Terry caught by it twice and Saha bloody scored….and Everton players is good on the air too….
Chelsea too much swung the crosses rather than driving the ball through defence…
David Moyes is a good manager, good tactician..
yes It was a bad day for Chelsea…
but keep optimistic guys….Chelsea FC team this season is much-much stronger and compact then 2-3 seasons before…
keep faith….
keep optimism i think arsenal game took lot out of our team defensively so dodnt worry now we must win next 6 before ot
I saw the full game. Anelka had a very very very bad game he played from the wing in what looks like a 4- 3-3 formation. He could not take on a player he killed the attack any time the ball gets 2 him. I’m a bit disappointed with Acelloti trying to accomodate Anelka in his 4-3-3 formation, we all saw he kills the attack playing from the wing against hull, arsenal, and everton (had bad games). If we re not playing 4-4-2 anelka should not start. Joe cole is better in 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 formation. Terry also had a bad game. Acelloti give me the league, i want it badly.
I hate man u with passion. BC pls channel some of ur hatred towards them.
I really dont see any future for this chelsea fc because they dont really dont have one.
We go around laughfing on a club like man city but in truth we are no better………we are bigger morons..comon sense never prevails in this club and I dunt think it will ever because of the sad management at the helm…..as a club chelsea does not know what they want and how they wanna achieve that…….they just go around dibbing and dabbling with no such motive in mind….the entire selection for this match was technically incorrect…..why would you want to play a pussart like zhirkov in this team that too in midfield…..he has no skill and no pace to justify a starting position in this team…physically and mentally he is incompetent for the premier league……..what a waste of 18m quids….if he is the russian ronaldinho then I should get nominated for the ballon d’or……
another pathetic selection was the decision of deploying anelka on the wing……what a waste of time and energy….you ask a central striker to play on the wings and then expect to win a match…..absolute nonsensical stuff buy ancelotti…..anelka was horrible against hull, arsenal and against everton (in all these matches he played on the wings) and ancelotti has only himself to blame for his pathetic decision making skills..
Just like terry has taken a break for chelsea its high time the same facility should also be granted to lampard (maybe he can join terry for dubai)…..this midfielder looks a shadow of the player he used to me……he loox absloutely confused when he has the ball at the feet…..all i see him doing is taking too many touches, too many touches and too just too many touches…..neither does he have a fixed place where he can play…..ancelotti just keeps juggling him on the right, in the hole on the left and everywhere that you can think off….I think he is wearing out finally and chelsea needs a quality player in that position to take over the role of lampard in the near future….
I really dunt need to comment on the performance of terry as he was the man of the match and nothing less than that….lol.
The entire world says that chelsea has one of the best squads in europe…..I agree with that….but I just have one thing to say.
Chelsea will not win the league for only one reason
” Because they only know how to start a season but they just dunt know how to finish one”.
For me, its 1 point lost, not 3. I know a win gets 3 pts but Goodison park was never a piece of cake, was it?
It takes a hell lot to play 6 matches in 18 days (that averages 1 in every 3 days). Let alone a team playing their senior citizens. But we won 4, drew 1, lost 1. We have always played well when given a 6 day gap. Loss to wigan, citeh, everton and draws against everton, west ham, hull city all came after a 2/3 day break. And with the Champions league to resume, its going to be a more hectic season.
It will need a lot of rotation to finish this season with a positive note i.e with a trophy or two. Starting Anelka, Drogba, Ballack, Lampard every match won’t help much. It is very much evident from the last two seasons that we play well to a certain point in a season then wear out and finally redeem. CA made just one change this match and that to play Zhirkov for Ballack. As pointed out by Karma, it did backfire. Either Malouda or Zhirkov, not both. It was pretty much clear that we were better when Sturridge and Kalou came on.
JT was bad, Anelka was bad, and this nonsense with pumping the ball into the oppositions third hoping Drogba is somewhere near needs to stop.
What’s even worse is watch Man United go to Goodison and win convincingly.

Saw just 2nd half and just got reminded that Everton often steals points from us. Their solid team defending, 2 DMs, good headers, tight defending, fighting till dead and physical approach does a lot of problems to our team – if Arteta and the strikers are fit, they could be a real threat to us.
Points to discuss:
1. JT is flying to Dubai today to save his marriage – this maybe paid its price yesterday as he was not concentrated enough, let Saha go at corner kick and then mistimed his jump to allow him score for the second time. Hope this affair takes a quick end and our captain returns to his usual (=best) early.
2. Anelka was not that bad, the midfield formation worried me much more. Lamps was rather anonymous, did not create anything and his shooting was pathetic. Zhirkov was a mistake; did Carletto try to make a new Joe Cole or Essien out of him? Anyway, it did not work properly and no surprise he was substituted. Ze German tried to create, but he is now rather a combination player, as his pace limits his own abilities. Which leads me to another conclusion…
3. Why the hell was Joe Cole not even on the bench??? He could have been exactly the man for this situation – our combination attempts did not work and playing high balls against defending Everton is like trying to destroy wall with bare hands (even Drogs was not able to make space). So the only way is to have a man who can do tricks with the ball, evade opponent and create some space with this. Anelka tried it several times, but he is not the player for this kind of job. Maybe this was also why Carlo threw Kalou and Sturridge on the pitch, but it was all too late and moreover, he could not demand Sturridge to turn things round at his age.
4. Uffff, Manchester just got a point, although as I heard, they should be punished with the loss for their performance. Pity Arsenal got three points; I saw just last few minutes, but maybe this was enough to get angry again; please enjoy the fabulous Fabregas left-hand save while standing in the wall against Gerrard free kick in the dying seconds of the game :))
The team is getting tired, CA should employ a combination of youngsters+seniors such as kakuta, studdrige and matic to ease the exhaustion of our senior players.
And call sinclair back from loan,unlike di santo at blackburn, he is not doing anything at wigan.
More bad news …. Ashley Cole has been sidelined for 3 months with a broken ankle bone … so he’s out for the rest of the season.
If ever there was a game of two halfs it was yesterday. 1st half was actually okay, Malouda started well and was kind of an attacking playmaker. Ashley supported him brilliantly on the left. Lampard and Anelka was totally invisible and did not become any more visible in the 2nd half. Drogba did his usual power display and kept the ball well most of the time. DD made the assist for Maloudas goal. All in all it looked like we would cruise to a tight but comfortable win.
2nd half was the worst possible Chelsea performance I have seen this season. Nothing absolutely nothing was working out. It seems like when opposition starts pressurising our midfield high up the field, then our play falls flat. Defensively Ricky was insecure and late with his tackles, JT was somewhere else in his mind. Branny did well, but Cech is the only one deserving praise for a complete and competent 95 minutes of football.
Carlo made the subs way too late ( anyone else noticed he subs much later that TSO) and neither Kalou nor Danny made any notable difference to our game.
Conclusion: Bravo Everton.
i hope we can go and win epl without ashley cole just like ivano has covered for bosingwa i hope zhirkov covers for cole
I am just praying that losing point to everton ( twice), west ham , hull doesn’t come and bite us .. if we had gone to old trafford with 4 points gap, then it would be advantageous..
cole is out for 3 months.. zhirkov and paulo ferrera can do the job.. I feel paulo is better, because zhirkov is more attack minded player..
:( i’m glad your optimistic.
fuk you man united!!!!
I think i agree to almost all of you, and i still stress that CA never learns not to play Malouda, Zhirkov and Ashley together. As i pointed out earlier, the boss got the wrong first 11, but he could have addressed that with timely substitutions but he waited too late to bring on the subs! Joey on the right and Malouda on the left…and Lampsy, Ballack and Mikel in the MF would have done a better job! I am disappointed with the result and the way our boss faced this game.
I hope Terry will be able to save his marriage … i just love the guy!
vovka,
I think Joey was injured and would be back this weekend in FA Cup.
Guys,
Lets not forget that Alex, Bosingwa, Belletti and Deco are all on the verge of being fully fit, they might be featured this weekend, if not surely in our next EPL match! And Essien will be back in late February!
Can chelsea win all of the 12 remaining games?With good luck and some little help from other teams it can happen.
The tough months are coming.INTER/MAN CITY/ASTON VILLA are fucking hard games to win.
Chelsea Vs – 1.Man City, 2.Aston Villa, 3.Man Utd, 4.Tottenham, 5.Liverpool

What do you guys think? Do we have a better chance?
Im looking for a chelsea fan called DAVE well he says he is a chelsea fan but the fukin mount of time he spends on arsenal blogs who fukin knows.anyway DAVE one word for ya…SAHA..ps we will be reel-ing you lot in like a preverbial fish.
i moaned about getting a leftback
yuriy zhirkov im sure is capable of softening the blow so much. But he is a better winger than defender. Furthermore, who is to say zhirkov won’t get injured, what then? Ferreira can keep watford quiet, he cant subdue sulley muntari, yet alone james milner or albert riera. We are not in a good place
Bosingwa will be back soon hopefully so that is something. Should move Ivanovic to the middle for carvahlo or bosingwa to right midfield for ballack
in terms of england. Everybody laughed with me when we found out man city paid chelsea 12million for wayne bridge, i doubt he is worth 3million pounds. Kieran Gibbs and Leighton Baines should be the only names you can consider.
GUYS ISNT IT INTERESTING? after a.cole injury, as terry iz lcb and wayn bridge iz lb for england… iT is interesting 2 c them together, playing for england. LOLZ come on blues manu at our necks…!! blue forever…
we have to be optimistic did we notice at all that bos was injured for 2-3 months now hope fully we will not even notice it
We REALLY REALLY REALLY have to do something with set-pieces, Even cardif city scored a goal in that way.
Set pieces are chelsea Achils,but is so easy to work on in.If Carlo wants to run another 12 win in a row,He has to work on it.
really i am disappointed wit d performace.we wearing out.why?
really i am disappointed wit d performace.we wearing out.why?
“But I’m a part of Chelsea’s history forever and they’ll always be a big part of me. Let’s see if Ancelotti can finish his time at Chelsea with a record as good as mine!” – Jose mourinho
Jose would always be Jose….u cant love him..but u cant be without him…
what say…??
We really have to score at San Siro . Milito+Snijder+Eto are their best chances.Mikel has to shut down Snijder.
Tuesday night or rather Wednesday morning football news in brief:
Everton:
Nothing much to say about the match because i didn’t watch it but I hate it that Fellaini is injured and will be out for the rest of the season…Everton had done enough damage to us and now one of their best players is injured just before they face manure! Luck…Miss Luck had always been with manure!
ACM FC and MLFC:
Yesternight, i have watched the CL match between AC Milan FC and Miss Luck FC and i have enjoyed the way AC Milan tortured MLFC, especially in the first half. Ronaldinho’s magics were displayed and teh defenders did a great job. The 2 goals were a mere thing of beauty, especially Seedrof’s goal! But AC Milan failed to capitalise on the chances they got and they had to pay heavily. Pato, Ronaldinho and Huntelaar missed sitters and in fact AC Milan should have been 4:0 up before Miss Luck came to granny scholes! If i am a player i wouldn’t be able to celebrate such type of goals: trying to hit with your right foot but ball hits your left leg and it is a goal! One shameful goal of the decade!
Referee got most of the decisions int eh first half against AC Milan. Few examples:
1. wanker rio fouls and he is the last man and therefore red, but the ref plays on the game;
2. granny rooney dives in the opponent’s box and theatrically red nose complains about it, he wants a penalty against Milan because they haven’t got water in teh swimming pool and rooney could get injured!
3. wanker rio escapes again with his nasty knee-high challenge;
4. granny lands his football knots on teh opponent’s head and intentionally drags the other leg over the same opponent; he is not even cautioned!
Only thing positive is that carrick got the red!
The match on the TV froze at 63rd minute…then i went to the match below:
Stoke vs Mancs:
Didn’t watch the full match but i think Faye’s red was a real red! Only thing that i am not happy about this match is that Shawcross had a great goal in teh dying seconds but wiley ruled it out, wrongly! Stoke deserved to be 2:1…wiley should be punished for his costly mistake at the mercy of mighty Stoke!
“Commit a murder maybe. And even then I suppose it might only be News in Brief.”
Britain’s top fencer Richard Kruse on what it would take for him to oust Terry from the front pages.
NO COMMENT: Inter 1-1 Chelsea. DIDIER MOTHERFUCKER DROGBA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More about MLFC….
Did anybody notice this new 12th man for Manure. This guy OG is running second behind Rooney in Top scorers list with 10 to its name.
Guess what, I won’t rule out the Manure’s OG to oust Rooney and Drogba for this season’s Golden Boot.
Ps : OG has made Rednose to bench his all time great player ‘Referee’.
chelsito,
I agree with you in totality!
Tom Overbo fucked up another game.UEFA has to ban this twat.
Chelsea Robbed from CL glory because of this fat bastard
I saw the retarded decisions he made last night too (what is STILL UEFA playing at).
People are saying the porto – arsenal referee was just as bad but he wasn’t (just because fabianski doesn’t know wtf he’s doing for most parts of the game).
