Chelsea vs Arsenal | 07-Feb-10 @ 16:00 UK
This could not have come at a better time. Yes I know we just dropped points against Hull, I also know Wenger’s side might muster some motivation after their ManUre mauling(although this I find highly improbable), I also know they are getting Bendtner back (again I dont know how to react at this, maybe he’ll stop another one of Fabregas’s goals).
To counter all of those Arsenal positives(ahem) we have a certain Ivorian who haunts Wenger and His School Academy the most. Oh yes Didier Drogba is back and he is back with a bang. Even though he didnt do much in the last match except for the bang, Iam sure Arsenal is definitely the team he wants to be playing against to get back his form. He hates Arsenal, He hates them more than I do, and thats saying quite a lot.
We almost have out full squad to chose from – Essien,Belleti and Bosingwa. I havent missed Bosingwa one bit as long as Ivanovic has been there. Belleti played pretty well in the hole and with Essien gone he would have been my first choice. Hey but wait Mikel is back! Upfront I want to see Drognelka again. No I dont believe that Sturridge should be starting in Anelka’s place. Atleast not against Arsenal. A 65th minute substitution would be sweet. I like BC have been harping this thing all season long that the thing that seperates us from the other teams the most is our bench strength.
We have world class reserve players for every position. Look at this Zhirkov-Ashley Cole(LB), Ivanovic-Bosingwa-Belleti(RB), Terry-Carvalho-Alex-Ivanovic(CB),Essien-Mikel-Belleti(CDM),Ballack-Lampard-Deco-Malouda-Joe Cole(R/L/CM),Drogba-Anelka-Sturridge(CF)..This too is after ignoring wonderful youngsters like Kakuta, Borini, Matic. So Basically what I mean to say is that Carlo will never like Wenger have to say that “Ze Inzuries to ze playerz cozt uz ze match..”. Even if they would I think Carlo is mature enough not to cry like Whinger..
Ok now moving on to the Gooners. Like BC even I think that the only man who we need to fear in the Arsenal line-up is Arshavin. That guy (despite having Wenger as his manager) is class. But of late even he hasnt been at his best. And with him not there I dont really fear anyone else. Fabregas? Well he’s normally been just Gas in previous encounters. Essien wonderfully shut him out of the game last time. We dont have Essien but then lets not forget Bendtner has come back for a reason. Vermaelen(ignore sp) they’re hot goalscorer would I guess be more worried about not turning Ashley’s crosses into his own net. Gallas? Ok lets keep this blog post clean.
And while Wenger has sold his poor man’s Drogba he seems to have found a poor man’s Essien in Song. He’s not worrying me much either.Actually nothing is. How can I be worried? The only proper forward Arsenal had was Van Persie and he’s injured. Eduardo has never been the same. Walcott is struggling. They depend on Arshavin for their goals and he’s not even a natural forward. Arsenal are by no means contenders for any silverware this season. Iam supremely confident that this match belongs to us. Wenger will after this match realise that he’ll be out of contention for any glory this season as well. Now please dont say he’s going to win the Champions League. And I dont think Arsenal will self destruct this season. WE will demolish them.
My Prediction 3-1 to Chelsea.
P.s- Iam not to be scathed if Arsenal fail to score that single goal as well.
Ok guys so that was my first post here. Quite obviously iam no BC. I dont think I’ll ever be able to put up an analysis like he does. But I have done what I could and yes even I do think I got it easy by having Arsenal in my first post.
**KTBFFH**
Guys! I present to you another new signing of BlueChampions! Please welcome Tanmay who joins Karma CW as my fellow-writers for this blog. Hope you like their views, content and style. Cheers!
Tanmay – Very good first post. All the best! By the way, I don’t post ‘analysis’ as you have mentioned. As I’ve said many times. I’m no expert. I only have views and opinions based on the facts, stats and media that’s available to all :-)
V. Good first post. I could get sense some BC flavor in your post. Looking forward for a post match Analysis from you.
On a lighter note, Karma, you got serious competition here :-)
we feel the loss of bosingwa when we play speedy teams
bendtner scored against us before under hiddink in the 4-1 win remember.
fabregas is not a super force, all we’re seeing is the freedom lampard used to have at chelsea and everyone worships cesc because he plays for arsenal who are revered for some reason. I respect wenger for his approach to management although i personally would not go down that road
arshavin himself has said many a time he needs a proper striker in front of him
basically, what im saying is it is the same old (young) arsenal. We had a disappointment against hull, I don’t want our players to come out thinking it is a routine 3 points because it isn’t really. Arsenal may be far from contention to win anything, but we dont want to fall behind now, we need to keep ahead of everyone so when we play man utd, we have an opportunity to rip open a huge gap as opposed to a chance to get back on top.
the question is our midfield selection. With essien out, we are looking to pin alot on mikel and I don’t think he is quite ready so for that reason, I see ancelotti choosing either deco or ballack for our diamond with lampard, malouda and I would imagine joey
im going for a 2-1 win. Drogba and Carvahlo to score for us, vermaelan for arsenal
We don’t have world class squad players mate. What we have are great squad players that do their jobs well enough and more when they are called upon, and they are in a good run of form, and that’s all we need.
:D Thanks all..
@trueplatinum
I agree with you on the need for bosingwa against speedy teams. Ivanovic and Bosingwa are two very different players..Ivanonvic definitely contributes more defensively and he I think along with Terry is the best man we have in the air..Bosingwa on the other hand makes quicker and more intelligent runs and maybe is just slightly better on the final crosses he produces. But then on an off-day Bosingwa can do quite a few irritating things as well. Such as his Messi like runs (which normally end up in giving possession to the other team)..

I guess what Tanmay was trying to say was that our squad players are world class in being squad players :-) Most of our squad players could make it to the first team of many other top teams. Players like Alex, Mikel and Sturridge could make a big positive impact even if they play for Arsenal. Incidentally, that’s the kind of players they need.
I want us to play 4-3-3 with this team – Cech | Terry Carvalho A.Cole Ivanovic | Lampard Ballack Mikel | Anelka Drogba Malouda. I wouldn’t bring in players like Deco and Joe Cole unless we are fully in control of the result. Let’s play a ruthless, powerful game that sweeps them off. Let me tell you I’ll be truly disappointed with anything other than a win.
ok this blog is improve and getting more and more interesting….
as for Super Sunday…I just want to see Terry do that bullet header again….and 2 goals from DD…
BC, is he the cousin you were talking about ?
Sorry, if not because he writes pretty much the same way you do. The fact that he hates Arsenal and treats them like a boxer’s punching bag makes him very much akin to you.
Good post Tanmay, very humorous and interesting read. Waiting for more good posts from you.

LoL! He is not my cousin! (Clear the air, Tanmay!) I don’t even know how Tanmay looks and in fact have very less information about him. Some time later, we’ll need to get the bios of both Karma and Tanmay so we know who they are.
P.S: You can’t blame him for being so me when it comes to Arsenal. It’s not so difficult to hate Arsenal ;-)
i think 2day s game will win it fair nd square but im still disapointed wit capello s decision.im a south african but in a world cup england was always my favourate bcos of big support thy have and wit da players thy have but now wit da decision cappello took i dnt thnk england will reach da quaterfinals cos dt team wont ply lyk da way da plyd in da qualifiers.
anyway i dnt care anymo abt englnd until terry s back as da captain.2002 world cup thy had beckham as captain and i lykd him verymuch bt wit terry gettn into hs shoes i lykd terry too bcos thy r both great players.
today s game i c drogba scoring twice wit assists from anelka.manure will b disapointd wit today s win. GO CHELSEA GO
Cousin! lol!
No..we’re not even remotely related (I cant be too sure though maybe our great great great grandfathers were kins) :D..The reason why you feel I write like him is because I’ve read his blog quite a lot and he’s the inspiration behind me diving into blogging..
and as far as punching bag is concerned. I can pretty much make a punching bag out of any team. although I’ve done it on Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool only..Liverpool I dont think i need to anymore..Rafa is punching them pretty hard as it is..:D
As long as there is a post to read before and after a match the happier we are. BC, thanks for getting more support to keep this blog alive.
it seems we are all over-confident about this match perhaps cos we have beaten them at emirates and MANU have just also done that. we do have challenges and i hope we can over come them to beat arsenal. JT is being scandalised by an unrepentant MEDIA, DD is just returning, no essien, and anelka appears to have gone missing.
the big treat is now MANU and they are notching good wins and high goal scoring results. some say they will blip once the champions league starts again!
all the best for today for all chelsea fan all over the world.
It’s so good to see that this blog is resurrected. Two excellent new co-writers.
Match of the season only a few hours away now. I have a 3-1 win. We will however have to come from behind as Gallas will score the first goal. Anelka scores 2 and Drogba or Lampard one goal.

Thanks. If I could get more time to spend on the blog, I have great plans! Anyway, let’s see how these writer trials go.
By the way, the confidence of your prediction makes me think that the match has been fixed already :-) A 3-1 scoreline would be great. I’m okay with a 1-0 too. I hope we don’t get an edge of the seat thriller. My faint heart can’t take that!
BOY DO I LOVE THE BLUES AND DO I LOVE THIS BLOG!
way to go tanmay and heads up to u BC gr8 post!
peace!!
How do you guys like the new blog header? I’ve tried many headers before with players, managers and fans in them. I’ve never felt very satisfied with them. Players and managers could represent the club only temporarily and you could say that even for some fans. The home stadium is the best symbol of any club than the people involved with the club. This new header, I’m just loving it. Hope you like it too!
Good one,Tanmay.Looking forward for more from you in the future.Guys,i believe that Arsenal will be quick out of their straps. They’ll be probably looking for a goal in the first 30 mins.If we can survive this period,i think we could go on and win 3-0.Having said that,i just hope CA doesnt pick Deco.he is really confused in his passing and his play.
Hey BC,I love the new header too.Good Job!!

The header is so classy that it should be at the MOMA in New York. Can you make it available as a wallpaper?
Yes BC,make it available as a wallpaper
Good post, Tanmay, but I am concerned that will not be able to play today. Otherwise, he would be my first choice, no doubt. Without him, I am not quite sure but I would prefer Mikel – Deco is a bit slow to stop Arsenal passing-passing-passing game and Ballack should be used more upfront. I would also not take the match so lightly. Arsenal badly needs to get some points to stay in title game as it is almost the only chance for Wenger to win something this season (yes, I cannot imagine them winning CL). They will do everything to get some points, so this could be a tough game. Nevertheless, I believe in our win – 2-1 is my tip.
BC – the new blog header is really good, although I was a bit confused at first (e. g. “what does that railway station roof do here?” Now I see and like it :))
anelka ok derugba no
wooow….good work tanmay….i thought i was reading a BC write up…you’re really good and now i believe the saying that you achieve more when you delegate people…great step to take BC…now the blog is bubbling…i hope we beat ass-nal..i am not as over confident as you guys but i hope we thrash them…i would take a 1 -0 victory….its the 3 point that matters
KTBFFH
2-0 HT..haha..
Now the only thing Iam waiting for is Drogba’s hattrick and Wengers interview..
A delightful double,And again DROGBA.
CHELSEA FOR Treble.
DIDIER DROGBA is the best..(L)
wow guys wat dd i say.drogba for 2.i thnk im a gud beta.we r whr we belong now.peace…..bc great job

Blue4Life,
I am so happy that i have a “serious competition” here, and it is absolutely healthy!
Dear Tanmay,
Great post with a sweet flavour of jocular spice! I love your writing, the style, the easiness and the sense of humour associated! Keep going, you are so amiable! KTBFFH!
hats off 2 u bc
