The big game is upon us. If Chelsea beats Man Utd on Sunday, the title is ours. Isn’t that a stupid thing to say. May be, but I very strongly feel that this game and the reverse fixture have a big impact on the title race. It so happens every season that the difference between the champion and the runner-up is just the points gathered from the mini-league of the top four. Getting wins in the mini-league not only creates the gap between us and the rivals but also psychologically puts us on course for the title. We started this season on a very positive note by beating Man Utd, and that too on penalties. That win set us up for a fantastic start to the league.
This season, Chelsea does not look beatable. I know Wigan and Villa beat us but we don’t look beatable. If we play Wigan and Villa again, we can probably pound them. Whereas the other rivals do look beatable. Liverpool don’t look like they’ll record a win in the next 6 months. Man Utd have been riding on their luck for too long. There is a difference between this season’s Man Utd and that of the previous seasons. In the previous seasons, when they were in a spot of bother, they were helped by moments of individual brilliances from Ronaldo and Tevez. Plus, they carried their lucky charm everytime they stepped on the pitch. This season, it is not the moments of individual brilliance that’s helping them, it’s more about the referees, lovely mistakes by opponents at the most inopportune time, acts of God etc. Which is why, I find Man Utd beatable. I know I’m not even considering Arsenal here. If they’re still a threat in February, I’ll talk about them.
I think this is the right for us to play Man Utd. Firstly, we are in top form. Secondly, our top form was checked by Atletico mid-week. Thirdly, we’ve got some of our injured players back. Fourthly, the morale is high after the suspension of the transfer ban. As per BBC, for Man Utd, Berbatov, Vidic and Giggs are doubtful while Neville, Ferdinand and Park are sure to miss. And, CSKA just scored three goals in one half at holy Old Trafford.
I’m all gung-ho about this match. I have a feeling that we’ll beat them and beat them well. We’ve got Drogba on fire, Lampard back among goals, Anelka working very well with Drogba, Deco has been fine No.10 for us and so on. We’re ripe for this match. The only concern is the defence which looks a bit shaky and unconvincing at times. If we don’t make mistakes, I don’t think Man Utd have it in them to brea our defence and beat them. On the other hand, I think we can beat them even if they don’t do any mistakes. Like last season, I think Fergie will come to London to get a draw. If he does that, he’ll get beaten for sure. Chelsea would go all out for a win. And, if we go one up, we must go for more. Especially because, our defence has been a bit shaky. Back in the TSO days, we could live with 1-0 because our defence was just incredibly accurate and play to the tactical plan. With our current shape of defence, I’d try for 2-0 once we get to a 1-0.
Don’t worry if Man Utd gets a lead. I just read that 20 of the 28 goals that we scored this season were scored in the second half. I think 2-1 would be the result. Man Utd would get their goal from somewhere – cheeky set pieces, lucky rebounds whatever. Drogba would surely score and Joe Cole to score on his 250th Chelsea appearance and on his 28th birthday!

i hope we win 2-0 i get one over utd fans who have been teasing me for 3 yrs i hope we win on sunday come on blues
This I think will be one of those matches where everything just clicks into a higher gear and football becomes pure magic.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we win 5-0, but 1-0 will do just fine.
…….Nice post BC. I hope, wait a sec, i know we’ll beat them for sure. 3-1, i think goals from drogba(2) and lamps and rooney with their only goal(he just can’t stop scoring against us), though a clean sheet will be the best thing to happen.
Sure would be fantastic for joey to score. Would like to see a repetition of his goal against Man U in the 2006 season where we beat them 3-0. He danced around 3 man u defenders and blasted it in the back of the net. KTBFFH !!!
I proudly say that chelsea will beat manu 3 goals to 1. you can judge it yourself given the current form of Chelsea not even talking of STAMFORDBRIDGE which is a huge added advantage.
Chelsea oyeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DEAR NOT TO MISS FOR CHELSEA DIE-HARDS.
I think this article from The Indepenedent deserves to be copied and pasted in full.
Ancelotti’s Milan success still pains United manager
By Ian Herbert

Carlo Ancelotti said in the aftermath of his Milan side’s 3-0 win over Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United in a rainswept San Siro two and a half years back that he had just witnessed his greatest win as manager of the Rossoneri.
As Ferguson offered his explanation for his club’s defeat yesterday it was hard to avoid the impression that he goes to Stamford Bridge tomorrow with a reputation to restore where competition with Ancelotti is concerned. No United fan needs reminding that Milan tore their side apart that night, especially in the course of a first half when Kaka and Clarence Seedorf helped overturn United’s 3-2 first leg advantage.
Ferguson still believes there were extenuating circumstances. “They [Milan] were very motivated for that game,” Ferguson recalled. “It was a high intensity that we were surprised by, I must say. We weren’t physically ready. We’d played on the Saturday with a full team, they’d rested eight or nine players on the Saturday. A Tuesday match was very difficult for us and we never got started in it. The pace caught us cold. By 20 minutes gone the game was over really.”
The Community Shield defeat on penalties to Chelsea did not provide any payback and Ferguson was careful, ahead of tomorrow’s fixture which his side enter into as underdogs, to avoid raising any more questions about the age of the Chelsea squad as he did on pre-season tour last year. His appreciation of the ability of Frank Lampard has been uncommonly fulsome in the past few months and yesterday he buzzed with enthusiasm about the 31-year-old’s form. “You would have to say that his player stats in terms of appearances [are] quite exceptional for a midfield player. They’ve got an exceptional player there.”
Ferguson said it was inevitable that Ancelotti would mould the Chelsea players he inherited around the diamond formation which he always stood by. “It would have been very unlikely that we was going to change it so the job he has to do is to mould the team to his fashion and his vision,” he said. “You see it in the results: most have been very good.”
Most but not all. Ferguson has his own motives to expose the fault line fleetingly revealed by Ancelotti’s defeats at Wigan and Aston Villa.
The players I fear most from United are Flecther and Evra.. On the right side we are bit weak and Fergie will try to exploit that ..
They may be out of form , but as this article says, I will / not celebrate after 100 mins only ( 10 mins injury time)..

im saying 2-0
man utd will be missing ferdinand and gary neville from defence. I’m sure alot of their midfielders are injured, at least park ji seung and two others
last season, we fell apart to stupid goals
man utd right now, do not have the confidence. We are winning games with big numbers, man utd are not used to seeing that, also, they are on a poor run. I don’t want this to turn into a wing game. Our left wing is strongest in the preiership, our right wing, looks very shaky at times. I believe bosingwa is injured so im expecting we’d see lampard and ivanovic so joey can get in middle. We might have joe cole on the right midfield though as we know how adventurous evra is.
I will say guys, take solace in this, man utd and their game is renowned for speed, counter attacks. With out ronaldo and tevez, man utd rely heavily on rooney, nani, valencia, evra and anderson. Out of all those people, rooney is the only guy that truly gets goals although valencia is getting there. Its a different, slower counter, no more hurdling back to defend ronaldo, tevez and rooney. Man utd have lost their edge, they are still adjusting, we howvere, have found it. I’m going for 3-1 with joe cole grabbing a goal and an assist.
i meant 3-1 not 2-0
FERGUSON….you said this and you Can say that Again…

Bad-mouth Evra will get his ass pounce-off today!
Deco is playing awfull.. Joe cole should be in for deco ..
Well manchester united are the best team in the world. They dont have to play a game 4 themselves, the refs do that 4 them. The 1-0 scoreline just shattered them,as did the fact the Martin refused to take their bribe. If it was united’s home ,old trafford they would have played half an hour more and lost by a larger margin.
And everyones been telling it was a spellbounding performance from united but they got nothing out of it……ask me , they played like a bunch of losers who wanted to go home(champion scums).
Chelsea too did not play well but the better team won. So no more crying……we cried a lot when barca and man u cheated us in champions league. But now well show them all ¤
my blood is blue,
through & through.
