That’s the kind of performance you want to see every weekend. Today’s match was also fantasy league-friendly for me with Lampard getting a brace and Drogba getting a goal. This duo never stop bringing truckloads of points. So we’re back on top of the table. Man Utd must lose. Here’s hoping Liverpool absolutely thump Man Utd tomorrow. It’s okay if Liverpool gets three points; it’s not like they’re challenging for the title or anything.
Okay, got no time at all. Gotta run. Enjoy the pic! Ciao!

J.Cole is Great
CHELSEA GOOOOO TO CHAMPION. !!!
SUPER SUPER GOAL MICHAEL ESSIEN..
God he is amazing. BUT DONT LET HIM TAKE THE FREAKING FREEKICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE WASTES ALL OF THEM…..
joe cole was fantastic!
Great game, hadn´t been for Poor Robinson it would have been really ugly for Blackburn.
MOTM Joey, absolutely superb performance. Despite being his first game in almost 10 month he really showed the class we been missing. and this was his first game from start imaging when he starts to heat up. BIG trouble for the rest of the EPL-teams=)
Am glad Lotti gave the youngsters a run and ferrara welcome back also. hopes papa lotti gets well soon.
the rest of the lads did what I expect them to do. Lampsy scoring again means big plus for us and even bigger problem for the opponents. DD played well and was a force all game long. our defence played well and we are so lucky to have Mr. ballack in our team. He really controlled the tempo for us.
We really have the perfect team for this diamond now with Joey back and Deco playing well. our strikers are scoring for fun lampsy have upped up his game lets keep on winning.
Bolton ur next to get hammered!!!
Good win today from chelsea over blackburn with Lampard grasping a double also Givet and Drogba scored in the 19th and 63rd minute and Essien flying one in to the back of the net in the 52nd minute.
This keeps us roiling nicely after the 4-0 win over athletic Madrid.
Tanks hay could you drop us an email im interested in helping out on the blog thanks im from NZ by the way.
GO CHELSEA.
KTBFFH !
Excellent performance again thats now 9 goals in 2 games if we keep this up we’ll definitely have the premiership won in no time. Great to see Lampard banging in the goals again he’s on his way to 20 goals again this season. Any striker would be proud to have franks scoring record in the last 5/6 seasons. Essien again scored a brilliant goal thanks to the blackburn defenders giving him the space, and drogba just can’t stop scoring right now. Put your money on drogba scoring 30+ goals this season.
But special praise should go to Joe Cole (my favourite player for chelsea) with him in the side we look a completely different team, what with his creativity, skill and vision he gives us alot more flair. Don’t you worry Joe cole will be back in the England team before you know it playing on the left hand side, MOVE OVER GERRARD YOU’LL BE SITTING ON THE BENCH SON WHERE YOU BELONG!!!
I wasn’t to sure about the midfield diamond but I’m glad to see it’s working really well, personally I would rather have Mikel playing in the holding role, Joe cole at the top and lampard and essien in central midfield. Something like this:
J.COLE
LAMPARD ESSIEN
MIKEL
What a great game yesterday. I am so happy for the fantastic come back for Joe Cole. It was an amazing display of his skills and his joy of playing first team football again. I am sure we all appreciated seeing Joey in Blue again , The Bridge gave him a well deserved standing ovation and Carlo gave him a big hug.
We played without Ashley and Bosingwa and I actually think that it made us a lot less vulnerable to counter attack ( I know Rovers were poor and not much of a threat). When Ashley and Bosingwa are playing I think they are coming forward way too often and that combined with Frank not really being comfortable in Carlos’ new formation have made us look shaky. BUT yesterday all the pieces in the formation puzzle seems to fall into place, and once again we saw Frank in total control.
So when Ashley and Bosingwa are back I hope it will be in the new adjusted form.
@7 i think essien is doing excellent in that holding role ballack is playing well he adds strength to the team mikel can wait

Go Blue Gooooo…….. My Man – ‘Joe Cole’ is Back. Wish Chelsea fly high like this in evey game.
What the hell is this flu case?Is this another back attack from FIFA to stop us ?So i will say my word to FIFA:FUCK OFF.
I am still not convinced about the credibility of this chelsea squad.
The performances of this club over the past couple of years has been disappointing over a longer period of time. The club lacks consistency. chelsea is nothing but a club of EXTREME HIGHS AND LOWS. On one moment it smashes a lousy team like Blackburn and then they get done by a team of the quality of wigan and if that was not enough they then get pumped by villa at home.
Consistency has been the problem for this club and that will be the reason why they will not win the league this time around as well. They would be there and there abouts but THEY WILL FALL WELL SHORT OF THEIR TARGET.
Mind you of the fact that if the transfer ban is enforced then they are doomed badly. Forget winning the league they will not even finish in the top four in the 2011 season. I am sure about the fact that the likes of ballack, deco and other aged blokes have passed their prime and they have nothing left to offer to the club other than their stale performances on the pitch. The other oldies like drogba, lampard and anelka will not last forever and by the time the ban is over their legs would have been dead by then. they dunt have any upcoming players (they never had and never will) that they can bank on that one can look forward to in the long term.
I think chelsea has passed through its golden era when they won back to back premier league titles and one of the main reason why they achieved that was because of united and arsenal not playing to their potential.
Having a team of good players is one thing but how to win a trophy is another thing altogether and that is what exactly differentiates the men from the boys, which is why its gonna be united for the title again (even without the likes of ronaldo and tevez) simply because they turn the heat up when they are really required to do so.
dear sunny
lets wait and see i am sure that chelsea will prove u wrong and as far as transfer ban goes it will be lifted or reduced to one window only we have more depth joey is back i dont think deco will play that often drogba is still great zhirkov is there and i trust studge borini di santo manciene as far as manu go they wont win title this year as rooney cant score everytime they always lose big games
when fletcher is missing
Dear sunnyboy, don´t worry. Transfer ban is till next season only, and i am sure the likes of DD and ballack and deco can survive one more season! By then ban would be over we can go shopping!
Sunny boy,I cant believe a chelsea fan did say your words. You must have faith in your team. Are you a god that knows the future. You are talking about Man United and their success in the last seasons. If chelsea had some of those old trafford boys luck,we could have won 9 champions league cups in last years. So Think Again.
Ballack should have been rested today .. Next week is a big one, Win at Spain will qualify for next round and win over Man U is what we have all been waiting for.
to Sunny boy,
you’re pretty pessimistic to have such a bright name. Posting what you wrote here means you have a problem with chelsea winning 3 matches in a row with 13-0 total score. Yes sunny boy, MU was rubbish when we won back to back titles, but Arsenal was good at least. For MU, the main reason why MU had won 3 titles is 1st: your bench depth, 2nd: ronaldo, 3rd: ronaldos penalties (FA backing). As for other your players they are just normal players, yeah some of them good, but not like point getting machine like CR7.
Season is long and this season will prove too long for MU and Lpool. As for Arsenal, they might finish above Lpool and MU if their kids show some good winning and MAN character, the last would be the hardest problem.
As for my club, Sunny Boy, i am pretty confident we will have less problems than your beloved MU this season. Anyway, reading what you posted here is interesting, come back later, Sunny boy.
YUP….it was nice to see the response that my post has generated amongst the chelsea faithfuls.
Optimism has gripped them (and it always had) and understandably so. Such is the euphoria about this gigantic club from west london. Before I write about what I intend to write I want to clarify that I am a neutral and thus supporting no club in particular.
chelsea has big name players no doubt about that but then so does real madrid and look what happened to them against alorcon. Not that i am trying to compare the two but then to an extent they have similarities. manchester united is such a massive club and look at the history behind this club and the people that have played for it. In contrast to this chelsea was just mediocre club before the russian tycoon came in to flash the cash which is something that city are attempting now. Compare a man to man chelsea have the strongest side in the premier league even better than united but why is it that they still dunt compete for the premier league. To make matters worse their performances over the last couple of seasons has even dropped below their so called expected level. Last time around forget wining the title they even finished behind pool in the league. Now according to a sane and a logical person (which i am) that is not a sign of a title winning team.
As you know that the financial crisis has spared nobody because of which the big four have been unable to spend in this summer. Now that according to me is just a loath of crap which I am not ready to buy. Chelsea for all I know tried to sign a big name and were completely unsuccessfull in doing so. So why would someone not want to come to chelsea.
The reason being inconsistency not only on the pitch but off the pitch as well, no assurance on what the plan of action is in the long term, is there a vision that a club has in mind, how long will this present manager last etc. It is just a business unit camouflaged in the form of a club which will just fall down like a pack of cards the day roman stops financing the club for its expansion which is never a good situation for any club to be in.
lets talk about the attitude of the club and the players when on the field. Does chelsea play soccer in a manner which would compel a person to begin supporting the club and thereby add to its base of existing supporters. Do they advertise a brand a football on the pitch that would be appealing and stimulating to a human eye. I dunt think so. In contrast have a look at what arsenal, united (even to an extent pool) have in the offering. With arsenal and united its all about slick passing on the pitch, passion on the field, crazy supporters who respect and value what their players are doing to please them. At a club like that you are not playing for yourself but you are playing for the supporters. So why and how does the club play in that manner. Its because of the principles that has been instilled in the DNA of the club. I would even go the extent of saying that in terms of quality chelsea has more than what clubs like even united and arsenal have. But then what they dunt have is legends like fergusson and wenger who have actually made their respective clubs play in a particular manner (with style and finesse) and have taken their clubs to a different level altogether. Coming back to the attitude of players why is it that we keep hearing of player unrest only at a club like chelsea and not at united or arsenal. why was there a war of words between ballack, cech and drogba when scholari has in charge. Its plain to see that players feel that they are bigger than the manager and the club and would do whatever they wanted to do to please themselves. Take the classic example of drogba. Personally as a player I think this guy is fantastic. he can bully, he is strong, powerful he can hold the ball up, he beautifully chest controls the ball, he can lead the line all by himself and the way he brings other players into the game is phenomenal and exemplary but look at his attitude. it is poor to say the least and unacceptable but he still gets away with it. Didier drogba decides by himself when he wants to play for chelsea and when he does not want to play for chelsea which is a poor behavior. couple of other players are in a similar position.
for all the supporters might believe in whinnying and complaining about the unfortunate exit of chelsea against barcelona last year in the champions league. no doubt there were some controversial decisions. but honestly some decisions went against chelsea and some went in their favour as well so to an extent that gets averaged out. But irrespective of the referring decisions, chelsea never tried to press on further to score the second goal and kill off barcelona. Even despite the fact that the catalans were down to ten men all chelsea was trying to do was to hold on to what they had and just hoped for the best( barcelonas possesion in the last 15 minutes or so just about proved that and the sending off decision of abidal was incorrect as he never clipped anelka). Chelsea lost that match not because they were unfortunate but because of their negativity. Unless and until there is no change in their attitude such a club does not deserve to win the champions league.
Nevertheless how would you describe the behavior of drogba after the final whistle. what was he thinking when he was virtually abusing and threatening the referee. I am sorry to say that no matter how bad the referee has been in a game you just cannot behave in the manner drogba did.
Would such a behavior have been tolerated by wenger or fergusson by any of their players?. Dont waste your time thinking about that because the answer NO.
Quarter-final draw for Carling Cup is as follows.
Blackburn v Chelsea
Manchester City v Arsenal
Manchester United v Tottenham
Portsmouth v Aston Villa
Really really cool blog and interesting as well.
Watch some of the best Chelsea FC videos on the internet at http://www.footballclips.net (or) Football Clips
Its updated on a daily basis.
Enjoy!
meh, Sunny gets weird like that sometimes
I will point out something, we won on something like 91 points one season with 5 losses, one thing that has foiled us in past seasons is draws. But now, we are finishing games off this season, no draws!!
And we’re doing well enough
The transfer ban will only hurt us if we lose someone from the squad. If Lampard broke his leg or something, we’d be hurt, otherwise the squad will only get better and we’ll have bertrand, cork, rajkovic, di santo, stoch, sinclair, kakuta, mancienne and more come summer so we won’t be hurt that much. Obviously Africa’s Cup of Nations bothers us all as we’d lose essien, mikel, kalou and drogba for as long as a month
but we coped before, granted we had less players when grant was in charge but we coped, we finished 2points behind man utd last season, and the season ended with some late draws.
I think we’ll do just about fine.
While there is pessimism on the page
I said earlier around august we needed a leftback and a left winger as wayne bridge left a hole in the squad. I said as a basic managerial precaution, have two players for every position. I mentioned we would have a problem if ashley cole and yuri zhirkov were injured at the same time. That is a slippery slope. If we have a day like this with man utd or arsenal, they will exploit us horribly
that aside, good win today, drogba’s goal was pure humour, bolton players could only watch

Thats why Paulo Ferreira wasnt sent away.He still provides decent cover for both right and left wing ;)
Although in right you can still play Belleti so theres plenty of cover around here.
chelsea suck mancheser all the way
chelsea suck united all the way

I can understand Wenger not nnsiigg The Humanitarian™. He fits well with Les Bleus; direct-attack football. On the Arsenal (by far, the greatest team) he wouldn’t work despite his amazing skills, I cannot picture him hanging back and passing the ball around twenty or so times before attempting to score.I’m not saying Wenger has the correct strategy. He has formed an undersized and overall less experienced squad in a physical league. But you have to recognize the ability of Arsene to manage a team. He is keeping the team in the Champions League without the debt so many others incur trying to do the same. (not thrilled with the dry spell of trophies, but I think better days are to come)VN:R_U [1.9.15_1155](from 0 votes)
