While there are half a dozen teams still fighting the relegation battle, this match between the number three and number four of the league might just look a bit pointless at this stage. But this match is pretty important, at least from the Chelsea perspective. For the champions league next season, only the top three from the premier league are direcly qualified while the fourth placed team will have to play some really tough qualifying matches. For a champions league favourite such as Chelsea, qualifying matches should not be a hurdle but it is just an unwanted entry in the calendar. On the other hand, if Arsenal is to play qualifying matches for champions league next season against the likes of Sevilla, Valencia, Roma etc, I’d love that prospect.
There is another angle to this match. Liverpool did the double against us this season. We’ve paid them back very well with a one-sided win at Anfield and an 8-goal thriller at the Bridge. Arsenal came to the Bridge and beat us. We knocked them off the FA Cup, their only hope of a trophy every season. I think that’s not enough. We need to beat them because . . they’re Arsenal. I hate Arsenal. I love Chelsea. So when Chelsea plays Arsenal, I want the Blues to thrash the brats. We’re just recovering from a unjustified, heart-breaking, sabotaged exit from the champions league. We need a big match victory to cool ourselves a bit.
Even Arsenal were eliminated from the champions league but they surrendered to the Mancs. That must have been one of the most one-sided semi final ties in champions league history. Arsenal were lucky to get beat 1-0 at Old Trafford. Wenger said that we will see a different Arsenal at Emigrants. Yes, we did see a different Arsenal – the one that got beat 3-1 this time. In a champions league semi final, second leg at home, they lost 3-1 and they completely succumbed and surrendered meekly. They can’t be disappointed because it looked like they did not mind losing.
Today, Chelsea must beat Arsenal to confirm the third place. Once we are through with this match, we can have our Francos and Stochs play the rest of the matches. Remember those dark days of this season. When Scolari took us from bad to worse in January, there was a very serious concern that Chelsea may not make it to the champions league next season. So when Hiddink was brought in, the big target, challenge, expectation and hope was to get us into the champions league next season. You can say that Guus has exceeded the expectations. If he was as lucky as Avram Grant, he might have got us the quadruple. If Chelsea wins today, Guus can tick that box of champions league qualification. And if he beats Everton in the FA Cup final, that’s an icing on the cake.
Team news now. Drogba may not be playing today. So, that limping out on Wednesday night is for real, it appears. Anelka must start the game. I’d very tempted to give Franco his first 90 minute-game. He is probably the type of player Arsenal won’t be comfortable handling. He is tall and he seems to be rather physical for a man of his build. He has the right attitude and determination to trouble Arsenal.
I did play out this match in FIFA 09 on XBOX 360. I played at the Emirates under the lights. I started with Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, Cole, Ballack, Essien, Lampard, Malouda, Kalou and Drogba in 4-3-3. First half, it was more of Arsenal and less of Chelsea. Arshavin troubles a lot. Malouda misses a great one-on-one chance to put us ahead. Then in the 40th minute, van Persie smashes one from outside the box to put them 1-0 up. Half time ends at 1-0 for Arsenal. In the second half, Chelsea starts in attack mode. In the 58th min, Wenger removes Walcott and Nasri to bring in Rosicky (?) and Diaby. That means less runs and dribbles and more of consolidation as I saw. Chelsea were still pressing for an equaliser. Another great chance for Malouda and he misses again. In the 67th minute, I brought in Anelka for Kalou. Chelsea are in hyper attack mode now.
In the 76th minute, Drogba very typically hassles a defender on the sideline and somehow wins the ball and passes it to Malouda who nutmegs the ball through Toure. The ball is let loose in the box and as always, Super Frankie is there in the right place at the right time. Bang. 1-1. Chelsea shift the gear to a cautious attack mode. Arsenal look very tired and careless. Chelsea take full advantage of it. Time running out. Both teams look to settle for a draw. 89th minute. A simple but effective passing move in the midfield suddenly allows Lampard to slip one through to Drogba who controls the ball before bulleting it in. 1-2. Three minutes of stoppage time. I brought in Obi Mikel for Malouda. Chelsea plays out the next few minutes. Final result: A 2-1 win for Chelsea.
Match details: 40th min van Persie. 1-0. 76th min Frank Lampard. 1-1. 89th min Didier Drogba. 1-2.
Possession: Chelsea 45% – Arsenal 55%. Shots (on target): Chelsea 7(5) – Arsenal 6(2).
First time result. No adulteration!
Hope this result comes true. This season we have been terrible in all the derby matches. Let’s end this on a bang. Let’s beat them at Emigrants.

We will win for sure.
Without drogba we can not defeat Arsenal.I am still sad from that dark wed.Every day i woke up i remember that fucking day.
we believe the sama victory will come like the blues push out fulham.
Football is REALLY CRUEL. Thank heavens I’m not a Chelsea fan or I’d ve died on the spot yesterday.
Chelsea to thrash arsenal! cmon blues….we need to show the world tt we deserved to beat barca…the ref and the linesmen and maybe the uefa are ignorant and cheats
A defeat against Liverpool last to last year in the semi finals was bad, but we could get over it after a while. But this, this is beyond that. Its probably because we knew we were the only team worthy enough to get through from that game and somehow that didnt happen. Everyone (and not only us Blues fans) thinks we were robbed; Arsene Wenger admitted we were more disappointed that Arsenal, hell even Manchester United blogs are saying we deserved to get a re match. And tell you what, we would caused much much more trouble to united title. We can only look forward to tonights game, a football game is really what the guys need to cheer up from Wednesday. I think Hiddink will go with this formation:
—————–Cech———————
-Bosingwa—-Terry—Alex—-A.Cole–
——————Essien——————
—Lampard————–Ballack——-
—Anelka———————-Malouda-
————-Drogba———————-
Hes reiterated how important it is for us to secure Champions League qualification (direct) and how that was his primary aim. So i think he’ll go with a full-fledged squad. 3-1 to chelsea. KTBFFH!!
I still want to know what the fuckin **** head Tom Henning is doing? He quotes “UEFA asked not to comment” , “Platini asked me not to screw my wife” etc . If i were him, I woulda commited suicide after the match. One more time, “its a FUCKING DISGRACE.”
As for this match, I dont mind winning or losing, but I would definitely want to see Di santo and a couple of youngsters.
Good post BC, but I’m disappointed you haven’t burned your FIFA 09. I recommend that true blue fans do not buy any FIFA/UEFA or other products from these corrupt bastards. And any products you have bought, send it to Platini with all the worst wishes for his future in football.
A 2-0 win for us today.
I don´t care much about today´s match. I feel Chelsea will win comfortably. But like OhmyBlue said, Uefa is still a “fucking Disgrace” and like DanaBlue said, “my worst wishes to Platini for his future.” I´ven´t still got over that match, and my head is still fuming with fire and contempt.
G®€åt€St ð€Þ®€SSÎ0ñ…this how I feel. I win today wont make this feeling go away, but at least I will be smiling
come on chelsea
hope essien scores in his 100th EPL game!

Please make a move Kenyon ..
============================================================================================
Manchester United’s frustrated Argentine forward Carlos Tevez has admitted that he expects to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
The on-loan 25-year-old feels he has not been treated as ‘one of the family’ at Old Trafford and claims the club have made no attempt to sign him long term – but insisted he wants to stay in England.
‘I am very sad about this but I guess what I’m saying is goodbye,’ Tevez said.
‘I don’t think I will be a Manchester United player next season. I have done everything I possibly can but they have never made me an offer or given me a contract so I have to leave. I think I will be at another club next season.

Walking away: Tevez looks set to leave Old Trafford
‘I have not been treated as a member of the family. I do not feel wanted. I feel bad over my situation, I do, but it’s very, very difficult to stay any longer.
‘The fans treat me like family but United have not signed me so they do not respect me as a footballer.’
Tevez feels his form has been good this season but has been frustrated at not being considered a first-team regular by Sir Alex Ferguson.
‘Things have changed dramatically this season,’ he said. ‘I was dropped – yet I didn’t perform badly. Sir Alex never gave me an explanation but I never asked him for one because it is not in my character.
‘I accepted it but maybe Sir Alex didn’t feel the same way about me. Maybe he didn’t have confidence in me any more.’
Tevez stressed he was settled in England and would have no qualms about joining one of United’s big rivals.
He said: ‘It’s not true my family are unhappy in England. It’s not true I want to leave England for Spain. My four-year-old daughter Florencia is learning English and my wife is very happy living in England.
‘We want to stay. I want to play in England because it is the best League in the world and it suits my style.
‘Any club I join, whether it be Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool or Everton, will be a rival of Manchester United. I would like to thank the United fans for their support. They will always have a special place in my heart.
‘If I was a United fan I wouldn’t want to see their player in any other shirt but I think they will accept I’ve done everything I can,’ Tevez told the News of the World.
Ancelloti in doubt . Yesterday daily mail reported Man city has made contact with Rijkaard..Both the links attached..

Sorry mate, but we don’t need a player like Tevez. He looks like a Norwegian troll and we don’t need anything Norwegian to remind us of “Corruption Wednesday”

I was tipping us to run riot today, hiddink will want us to exploit arsenal more than we did at wembley
at the moment the scoreline is 3-1
i hope ashley cole gets the goal because it would really be the boost we want
I wouldn’t mind tevez, but I don’t think he is the way foward, no doubt he would do very well on the right flank
guys go to this link and play this wonderful online game. Its called “FUCKING DISGRACE” and you get to hit that fucking ref as much as you can on 30 secs.

tevez is a good player really good but would he make our starting 11? I dont think he would make it today but I would love to have him in our squad.
anyway…
Replying to TruePlatinum:
you got as u wished=)
good win for us.
Replying to IwasMissingJose:
=)
right now, no, because hiddink had meshed the squad and moulded anelka into a threatening winger, but with the return of joey and expected arrivals of zhirkov and quaresma, i honestly see nowhere we can really use him, at 5 foot something he’s not the hitman we need
i was watching the barca game with some arsenal supporting friends who all jumped in to slate ashley cole and his form after leaving arsenal
now he has gone and scored against them bitterness is such a horrible thing, we have ashley, they have gallas, hard times lol
i don’t expect the positions to change now but I’m only going to be satisfied with the league when we get above liverpool
1-4 FOR THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD [CHELSEA FC]
PLEASE STAYING GUUS HIDDINK :-(
All of the chelsea players must do something to keep Guss at chelsea. He can make us CL champions.
IF players speak to Roman,He can do something.
Scolari :
Chelsea 1-1 Manutd
Manutd 3-0 Chelsea
Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Chelsea 1-2 Arsenal
Hiddink:
Chelsea 1-0 Juventus
Juventus 2-2 Chelsea
Liverpool 1-3 Chelsea
Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool
Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal
Barcelona 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona – of course we should have won
and now Arsenal 1-4 Chelsea
This explains why hiddink is considered one of the best tacticians let alone managers in the world.
Guss do something that i remember those JOSE days.HE MUST STAY.This win make me a little happy after that fucking day.
WE DESERVED TO BE IN ROME.
EVERYONE KNOWS THAT CHELSEA IS THE BEST.!
NO-ONE CAN BEAT THEM NOT EVEN MANCHESTER UNITED!
COME ON GUYS YOU KNOW THAT CHELSEA THE BEST.
We are still a beatable team, but no team has the players nor the manager that can bring it about consistently
if we play a team that also plays a wide game but with two strikers, that causes more than enough trouble, our centrebacks are not very quick so if the defensive midfielder is off form, they are exposed horribly, our wings are not as strong as they once were and we do miss the ability to beat several defenders to open up that extra space
but we more than make up for those shortfalls, no team is ever perfect, I see alot more holes in man uniteds team
today, I was very alarmed at bosingwa being overpowered by bendtner, imagine we had played bayern instead of barca, would klose and toni have done the same?
Chelsea is considered the physically strongest team in europe and probably the world, this is a big part of our defensive ability, you don’t here of our players being outmuscled, so Bosingwa needs to do whatever it takes to make sure he never has a game like today again
oh and while im on here, carvahlo would never have scored the header alex did today
im honestly expecting carvahlo to leave this summer
I viewed today’s encounter with the Gunners as the 3rd placing play-offs for Champs League (We all knew we deserved Rome but alas…). It was not about revenge or arrogants but to show our TRUE COLOURS of what we are made of… BLUE TITANIUM STEEL. As most media (or most Arsenal fans) rated Arsenal were similar to Barca, a healthy WIN will reinstate where CHELSEA stood this season. I was dreaming for 5 goals, for Chelsea and 4-1 win is juz FINE enough for me.
After the game, I got a text from a friend saying that the scoreline did not reflect the game and that Arsenal did played like Barca, which should deserves more. I calmly replied : “Since when football is about fast running with sexy passes while trying to weave the ball into the net. It’s NOT. It’s about 11 vs 11 on a pitch with the share of defending and attacking with effectiveness and control which is measured by the SCORING & CONCEDING of GOALs. That is CHELSEA, we are not sexy but we are EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE!”
I did not get a reply. But deep down, I know I’m right. He knows I’m right.
EUROPE may be over but we still have 3 more matches and It MIGHT be the last three matches with GUUS HIDDINK. I for one, will want to enjoy the remaining matches with one of our greatest manager ever. Regardless of the results or the outcome after the summer, he will always have a special place in my BLUE HEART. Always. KTBFFH!!! Bring them ON!!!
I fed up with this reddish commentry of espn..when adebayor went down..he said..Chelsea got away with it ..there was a contact…after seeing the reply well,it should have been a penalty..even though there is no contact there was intent.. After that incident..Chelsea scored within a minute..then he said malouda is offside..arsenal is unlucky they should have had a penalty ..before seconds..but they now concedes an offside goal…fucking disgrace..
