Chelsea are back. Well and truly. That was the Chelsea that we all know. Thank Hiddink for that. Liverpool had no clue about what hit them. That was blitzkreig. Chelsea were in their face. The kop must have been shaking in their boots and they must have been relieved that it’s only a 1-3. But they all must know that Chelsea have slain them.
Hiddink certainly had a plan and it went just as per his script. It was clear that we wanted to score goals and we got them. At no point we looked content. 1-1 was a good score to take home but Chelsea were looking for more. 1-2 is a great score but we weren’t done. 1-3 is a sureshot winning score but still we were looking for more goals. If we had taken some of the easy chances we must have ended 1-6. And that’s not an exaggeration at all.
What I love about this result is that it comes after Liverpool’s results against Real Madrid, Man Utd, Aston Villa and the last minute winner against Fulham. They were winning really big and they had to brought down to earth. Not many gave a chance for Chelsea tonight. And, we tore them to pieces. They did the double against us in the league, when Chelsea were aeslehC under Luiz Scolari. Now we’ll do the double against them in the champions league.
I expected Liverpool to come at us and hit us hard. They even started well with another Torres goal. Chelsea didn’t look concerned one bit. We kept attacking them and creating quality chances. I was doubting if Drogba was drunk in the first half. Missed two sitters. That would have been criminal had we not equalised or could not score more. Couple of seasons back, Chelsea produced a similar attacking performance but got only a 1-0 at home. The wasted chances came back to haunt us. We lost the second leg 1-0 and were knocked out in the penalties. Drogba was lucky that his misses were not that costly.
Liverpool sold Riise and thought they are better off but we brought Ivanovic. I don’t know what were the odds for Ivanovic scoring a brace in this match. Someone somewhere could have become a millionaire overnight. I don’t think Ivanovic getting a brace from corner headers is a coincidence. There must have been some plan around that. For both the goals, you could see Ivanovic consciously moving around knowing that he would be unmarked. I think that’s where Hiddink outthought Rafa tactically. Tactical plans are nice but they would have meant nothing if Ivanovic had not made that movement and smashed those headers. Full credit to the serbian.
For all his sins tonight, Drogba had to score. The third goal was a killer. I loved that one. It had Drogba written all over it. Low cross from the left and you see Drogba sneaking between two defenders in a flash and burying it. It was game over then. They knew that it was all over. They could not produce good chances to save their lives while we were creating at will. Liverpool just could not handle Chelsea tonight.
This was a great team performance. Every single player did his part. Particularly, Essien was brilliant. He muted Gerrard like you won’t see often. We castrated Gerrard and disconnected him and Torres making the Spaniard run around for nothing much. Was it really Malouda or some other player wearing a Malouda jersey? He was fantastic. His runs and play were intelligent and dangerous. His corner deliveries were more purposeful than that of Lampard’s. Kalou was wasteful but he at least kept Liverpool on their toes. Ballack was very good as well. I’m tired of praising Lampard. He had some dubious moments in defence, but in attack, he was top class. Many say that the only negative for Chelsea was Terry’s yellow that suspends him for next match. On second thought, his yellow at this stage was just ideal.
We bossed the midfield. More importantly, we played as a team. There was simply no confusion about the objective and tactics. As a team, I was incredibly pleased with the attitude, composure and maturity shown by this group. We knew how to create chances, we knew how to keep them at bay and we knew how to control the game. I don’t think Cech was really troubled apart from a couple of long shots. This must go down as one of the best away leg performances of Chelsea in recent times.
The tie is no way over yet only because we have 90 minutes to play. Liverpool needs a 3-0 result at Stamford Bridge. That’s a result I have not seen any team obtain in Stamford Bridge in my years of watching Chelsea. I don’t know when was it last achieved. Liverpool may draw inspiration from their 1-4 result at Old Trafford but that’s a different competition altogether. If Man Utd had started knowing that they only needed a draw, they’d have got it. Chelsea’s task is clear and easy. Any draw would do. A goal or two would put them out of sight.
Yesterday night was one of the best Chelsea nights I’ve experienced. Big compliments to Hiddink. He’s working wonders with this team. The very same team that was stamped as ‘old, tired and past their best’ has been now recognised as a champions league favourite and the only team that can stop Barcelona. The spirit and attitude of the Chelsea team is back. I love their confidence, flambuoyance bordering on arrogance.
Message to the Kop: OWNED!

We could have easily won 5-1.It was a fantastic team performance. The only dissapointment of the match was that
Terry got a yellow card.it means he misses the 2nd leg.doesnt matter really,We have put the tie beyond them.
Old Chelsea is back!
KTBFFH
guys im not surpized about IVAN score 2, the guy is class, and for those who want him to be sold.. now you see!!
come on DD you need to be more killer!!
Im glad he will miss this second leg rather than a semi.. or final match!!
Very well written BC, it’s like a photocopy of my thoughts. You have also spotted that Malouda’s corner kicks are far better than Lampards, who’s corner kicks I’ve never been a fan of. Essien made Gerrard look like an ordinary player. Ivanovic was used by Guus as Grandmaster chess player would use a chess piece. All the players were part of Guus’ masterplan, spiced up with each individual player using their natural skills of improvising. What a night at Anfield and what a time of season for us to show our full potential. Apart from not scoring 5 goals. CFC v Barca will again be a clash of Titans.
guyzz dont get carried away
anythng can happen in football
now lets concentrate on the bolton game
I reproduce my comment on your earlier article:
We are lucky that Terry got yellow because we would need him more in the semis than this Tuesday.
Malouda was superb, great! Essien was awesome, Cech: hilarious, Ivanovic: am wordless to describe him, and overall Chelsea is the real Chelsea that we know! Thanks to Guus, his golden eggs are priceless!
And i describe myself (presently) in one word: “orgasmic”!!!
Kudos to Chelsea! And warm regards from Bluetan!
It’s 2.03 am over here and I still can’t sleep. I’ve been going around all Liverpool blogs and they seem to have a lot of “praise” for our side. The game was superb; just lik I was watching a movie. Everyone was exceptional and left me speechless.
PS: KTBFFH!!!!!!
KTBFFH….ITS BEEN A LONG TIME THAT I HAVE FELT THIS WAY….THE BOYS MADE ME REMEMBER WHY I AM A TRUE CHELSEA FAN…
finalyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy we are back on track. this is what scolari failed to realise. true this team cant dribble around the whole football pitch , true most of them dont have raw pace, but these people can break defenses and create chances at will. the blue fire was almost extinguished by LFS. Thank God Hiddink s there to rescue. We could see everyone was doing what they could. Malouda some intelligent runs, ballack staying behind lampard and just trying to break defenses and win defensive headers, Essien playing a different yet important role of containing Gerrard, Lampard played as everything from striker to mid fielder sometimes even on wings. And Kalou wasnt bad. This is how to use him cause he s good in the way he plays on flanks dribbles well and creates problems so that a chance gets created. And to understand zonal marking :P pls see replay of first goal by ivanovic :) amazing ploy .
All in all KTBFFH
BLUE IS THE COLOUR
Well Where can i Start. I certainly wasn’t expecting this result , i would have quite happily taken a draw but this is even better 3-1!!!!
We got off to our usual bad start at anfield and all i was thinking was “here we go again” then I had flashbacks of what liverpool did to madrid. But then as soon as Drogba had that chance 2 minutes later I was confident we could get a goal back. Essien was outstanding the way he stopped gerrard was awesome he was on him all night like white on rice, Ivanovic well what can you say 2 brilliant headers and a great showing at right back especially with that pace he has. Drogba should have got at least 4 goals in this match but he got the third goal and that was enough for us JOB DONE!. Special mention should go to Malouda I’ve not been impressed with him at all since we signed him and tonight he set up 2 of the goals if only he could play like this more often.
Now liverpool have to score 3 goals at the bridge the words “MISSION IMPOSSIBLE” come to mind, i know JT is suspended but we should have Carvalho back for that game and what a replacement that is!!! and i’d just like to finish off but saying………..
“It’s so quiet, It’s so quiet, It’s so quiet in The Kop, It’s so quiet in the Kop”
yeah, im happier knowing we don’t have terry for this round than a semi or the final, but we really need no more silly bookings, especially ashley cole
im so happy we put liverpool back in their place, now they will slip back to 3rd in the league and the scousers will be silent again
notably, if there is any team that could stop barca, it’s ours, man utd got through courtesy of a carlos puyol gift which pretty much never happens last year, they would never be able to do it again
Good news:Gerrard may sideline for a month
Bad news:Carlo Anceloti might be our manager in the next season,This mean say goodbye to EPL and CL days.
Sorry Lampard, I just realised you supplied the second goal giving corner kick.
YESSS!!!! I finally saw Ivanovic score in Chelsea match! And moreover, such important goals!
Hope this will open him the way to the starting lineup on a regular basis. Bane trully deserves it. His 2 goals was no coincidence – look at the amount of goals he has scored in the Serbian national team. Almost all of them were the same – header after a corner kick. BC, you are right indeed: his movement in the box is quite clever, he pretty well knows where and how he wants to get there.
Overall, this was the game we needed – and we get. Terry is missing the second leg at SB, which is pretty good – hwe do need them there and he will not miss the semi-finals.
ANFIELD is OFFICIAL painted BLUE, and will remain BLUE, for at least a few weeks.
Great post BC, but would like to add that besides the two goals, Ivanovic did well in defence, he head off Kuyt goal bound shot in the 3rd minute and actually won a few battles with Riera & Torres, which any defenders should be proud of. And the way Ivanovic celebrated the first goal, you can tell that he is one humble character and a real teamplayer.
Let’s not get too carried away with this, all we did was scored 2 headers from corner, scored the third from a counter while Liverpool were searching for goal and muted Gerrard which cuts off the supplies to Torres. After watching the replay, I notice that Drogba actually did well in beating the offside traps which he will normally get at least 4 calls against. The question is; where do we go from here? We knew that we have the capability to conquer both EPL and CL but was flat during the early season (no thanks to Scolari). We still have 3 competitions in hand which is almost a miracle considering the circumstances (another “no thanks to Scolari”). I, for one, would just sit back and watch how Guus Hiddink works his wonders.
The question for Liverpool would be; Where do they go from here? We witness Man United free fall form after the Liverpool rubbing. Will Liverpool face the same fate? How will other English teams play against Liverpool and Gerrard after watching Essien? Blackburn will be the first to put that to test.
Our season only started when Guus Hiddink was appointed and we are not at our peak yet, now until we reach Champions League Finals in Rome. Here are some of the best quotes I’ve read from the web;
” Steven Gerrard has moved to a new address, No.5, Essien Pocket ”
” If Gerrard is Captain Fantastic, then Michael Essien must be Captain Eccentric! ”
Let’s just enjoy this moment for now. We deserved it. Wonder how’s Roman reaction is?
BLUE IS ALWAYS THE COLOUR!!! KTBFFH!
Blue is the colour, football is the game
We’re all together, and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
’cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name
Here at the Bridge whether rain or fine
We can shine all the time
Home or away, come and see us play
You’re welcome any day
Blue is the colour, football is the game
We’re all together, and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
’cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name
Come to the Shed and we’ll welcome you
Wear your blue and see us through
Sing loud and clear until the game is done
Sing Chelsea everyone.

I feel quite vindicated with the past two games and Malouda’s seemingly phoenix rise from his own ashes. You don’t play like that in the 06 World Cup and not be a good player.
Kalou is by far horrid. Malouda should have been given preference when playing it out wide. Drogba missing 3 sitters? After the third one I said he HAS to score. And boy did he.
I wasn’t very impressed with Lampard. Essien was forgotten in the attack which made me thoroughly upset. He had space and attempted to make a few runs to the middle of the box but Lampard overlooked him each time and played it out wide. Wish Essien would have been able to barrel in and fire one off!
Gerrard I don’t think got a touch on the ball for a full 20mins. I live with a life-long Liverpool fan and his dad is kinda deal. I turned to him around the 75th minute and was asked if Liverpool had taken off Gerrard and I missed it. He was anonymous except for the first 10mins. Spectacular.
He was quite speechless and I was. This could have become one of Liverpool’s biggest defeats and it should have. We are flying high right now but I demand a similar performance at the Bridge. They’ll be thinking miracles with playing the day before the Hillsborough disaster and their record of comeback wins. Kill it off early, 2 goals in the first half.
At home I think with how liverpool will throw everything at us, we need to pair up anelka and drogba for the counterattack. Liverpool will be open so much on defense due to this (as they were in the first leg).
I think all of Chelsea nation are going to beg Guus to stay with this win. This was his first true test against a great side. The Juve 2-2 was against a good team not a great one.
Roman must have offered Guus half of his fortune to stay. I have a feeling he’s offering the other half to the Russian Federation to hire a new coach lol!
Today was definitely a Blue Day.
cfc raises good points but then again, in our 3-0 loss to man utd, 2 of those goals were from set pieces
to be honest, none of them should of happened
liverpool were asking for it, i remeber watching an old game of theirs and commentators were slating benitez for his scolari tactic, refusing to change to a man to man system, i dont think even that would of kept us out
and id hardly call drogba’s goal a counter considering he had four defenders to beat and only malouda in the area with him, like the torres kuyt combination, they just ran, and they got the goal
ive been doing some stat study, in our meetings, we’ve been more or less the same, in terms of bookings, fouls, corners, even shots, but the staggering difference, is we have had about 45 offsides as opposed to liverpools 10ish
did hiddink know this? is this why drogba made so many runs starting in a shallow position? my blue friends, we have a true master of tactics at our helm
Well played lads, but please keep your feet firmly on the ground. Yes we are almost through but the tie is not over yet. We still have to play the return leg. Then would it be really over. Still think most journos are waiting for a miraculous Chelsea collapse and this is praying it doesn’t happen. Let’s not get too carried away. We r still in a fight, we just had a shot in the arm. The lads did brilliant. Surely Ivanovic is going nowhere.
Great win, This could still be a sweet season as far as chelsea is concerned, and this weekend could provide a pivotal movement in that, Demoralised looserpool playing blackburn, with gerrad aggrevating a groin injury he sustained in august, i could smell blackburn getting somthing out of this game even though its at anfield, and the game kicks off at 12. 45, giving us the pefect chance to capitalise any sloppyness by looserpool, Man utd playing sunderland, who are in deep deeep trouble, they desperately need somthing out of the game,or else, free fall into championship, and the fact that borough is playing hull and newcastle playing stoke. the north east clubs needs somthing out of thier game so desperately, everything seems to fall in place at the right time if results go our way this weekend, and as everyone knows, football is a game on confidence.
Man utd, are playing on next wednesday their second leg away from home, and obviously they dont want any more injuries which could give an edge to sunderland, hope sunderland gets somthing out of the game.
As far as FA cup is concerned, seems like chelsea are in perfect spot to get into finals, Arsenal play wigan this weekend, away from home, and JJB is not a frendly place to be, and they play wednesday thier second leg of CL at home, and on the following saturday play us in FA cup, followed by liverpool on tuesday in the league, which could be big ask from thier young players. Obviously they don want to loose the 4th spot to either villa or everton who are breathing down thier neck, i know arsenal are 6 points ahead.
All this seems goood but we would have to keeep our head , win our games, and pounce on any opportunity we have.. the win against looserpool should have given a big big morale booost to all the players and we should just concentrate with out making any sloppyness as guss often says…
as some said before me, lets not get carried away. The best thing about the second leg at SB, beside the score, is that we have GUUS. He will make sure we are prepared well and we have a good game plan. Cause I know in football anything can happen. OH how close we were to score a fourth and fifth goal…
looking forward, lets keep our winningspree agains bolton. Then lets finish off liverpool
See you guys in the semis :-D
Barça were simply awesome last night – http://www.oleole.com/blogs/fcbnews/posts/barca-4-bayern-munich-0
Replying to FCB:
Barca did play well, but it was poor opposition. Bayern is in total free fall both in footballing terms and in managerial terms. In contrast to that Chelsea played more that awesome as Liverpool was a good opponent.
Chelsea is looking very much forward to meeting Barca, on our way to the final. Am I getting carried away, no I don’t think so. Chelsea are back to former unbeatable strength.
a game to remember, chelsea with the wizard H made it all look easy, well done.
all chelsea fans are welcome at merlin.com.
i allmost cried of happiness while watching the game. im so happy for the lads and for my self it was very well deserved win. chelsea played every position great they never eccept on torres goal dropt a position. essien was motm but even lampard branislav drogba malouda they all played very good. liverpool was clueless. but lets get over this win and not get it over our heads. we still have a game at home and we should play with fear that anything could happen but we have the advantage and that is great. plying like this i belive we are the greatest team in the world. havnt seen a team this organized, allmost never. roman have to keep guus at any cost, man i pay half the money if he wants. I know we should be keeping our feet firmly on the ground, but i don´t know why my feet has been flying high in the blue sky and it won´t come down. :)
The best moment of the season. We beat a top 4 team at last and we finally got an away win in Europe and there wasnt any better place than Anfield to do it.
KTBFFH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BLUE IS THE COLOUR – MAN O MAN, never have I been so happy to eat my own words, here I was thinking its going to be a typical Chelsea – Liverpool clash, plain boring with a scoreline of 1-0 or 1-1 at max but last night what I saw made my jaw drop to the floor. I saw our old Chelsea doing what they do best, kicking the opponent where it hurts the most. We were simply outstanding, the result could of easily been 5-1 with Drogba scoring a hatrick, he did miss some sitters but none the less his persistance payed off in the end. Reina earlier this week called Drogba a “Pain In The Ass” because he always scores goals against Liverpool that come out of nowhere and after last night I can see why. I can only describe Drogba’s goal as a thing of beauty, beating two defenders and just powering past them (between them to be precise) and to hold off both defenders and stab a goal like that can only be done by Didier Drogba make no mistake about that, when he is on form there is no one like him and this is amazing when you consider he’s 31 years old and yet so dangerous. Ivano has always been a top notch defender but what he showed last night was a copy of Vidic if I must compare. Both are Serbian, both Central Defenders and both score powerful goals from headers. I do admit that I wanted Ivano to be sold in the summer but only because rather then his talent being wasted on our bench, id rather have him play somewere to showcase his worth. Victory last time never tasted better because we destroyed Liverpool when they seemed simply untouchable, a bit like Man Utd before Liverpool thrashed them. Chelsea played as a team last night, but more effectively they played as a team with hunger, they played with passion and agression, something we lost completely under LFS. But that’s all in the past now, the important thing now is to keep our feet on the ground and beat Liverpool next week and then focus on Barca, I beleive if there is one team that can beat Barca it’s Chelsea but discipline and focus is essential if we want to get to the finals. On the last note, Chelsea you have done us proud, well done Mr. Hiddinks well done – CHELSEA 4 LIFE

Best game chelsea played this season so far!!!!!!! Howeever chelsea team must be wary and be confident not complacent for the upcoming return leg….we bring to the bridge a 2 goal margin…we have to make sure we don’t concede and make sure we at least score one….so chelsea should attack and defend tight!!!!!!cmon chelsea.blue is the colour footbal is the game!!!!!!KTBFFH
guys i said it to my friends.. Pool will never do a double over us a agian .. and the only reason it happen was because of scolari!. guys the win feels so good!!!
have u guys been reading abou ancelotti. it sucks if its true.
all of you must listen chelsea should really buy diego and use pizzaro in the trade deal. chelsea well done i hope we really win the champions league and premier league and fa cup. the liverpool win feels so good come on chelsea win the champions league an buy diego
[...] were almost as impressive in winning 3-1 at Liverpool in their first [...]
Great result, after finally getting my adrenaline down I can sit and reflect on what we just accomplished. I think our last road victory in the Champions League was against Rosenberg if I’m not mistaken, so credit to Hiddink for this amazing turnaround. Who would have predicted this, after we had just gotten pummeled by united and Scolari had been fired. I am so fired up, hopefully united and liverpool can start dropping some points in the league, but to be realistic… chances are we will not be crowned EPL champions unless the other two begin dropping some points.
Remember, we haven’t accomplished anything yet. We have one foot in the CL semi-final and we have momentum carrying us on, but we need to keep our eyes on the prize. Hiddink should not let his players get carried away, but knowing him he will keep them in order and make sure they continue to play hard and play like the real Chelsea for the rest of this campaign.
CHELSEA 4 EVER
some good news and bad news
y r we after ancellotti???
http://www.dailymail.co.uk:80/sport/football/article-1168878/Chelseas-40m-Villa-Abramovich-raid-cash-strapped-Valencia-Spain-star.html
We don’t want Ancellotti!!!
And i have read we might sign David Villa, that would be so nice!!!
Guus thinks Roman Pavlyuchenko can fit superbly at Chelsea, not a bad choice at all!
But we want to keep Ivanovic at any cost, please don’t sell him!!! We could rather sell Belletti or Bosingwa so that either one of them will be a deputy to Ivanovic! Ivans is a central defender, but he does great at the right full back, so it is fine. And when Riccy or Terry cannot play, then he can shift to the centre!
I am still feasting on your ambrosia-like goals!
BC no pictures this time
i loved watching ivanovic play right back, he is so much more reliable then bosingwa. I believe he should be our new first choice as he can also offer us more from corners as we all saw. He is so much better defensively and he can help defend as a third centre back when ashley cole attacks. Amazing result, I hope we beat them at stamford bridge aswell.

I hate ancelotti ,it he will be our manager ,he will maKe a old chelsea and we will never win anything.I wish someone deny this reports.
chelsea dont need david villa hes 27 we should spend our money on younger players like aguero and benzema

you are right

Agree with u.. I hope i can see GH beyond this end of season.. He’s a great great manager.. while ancelotti seems like a copy of LFS.. even Milan at current state, is not even close to Chelsea… Milan is now downsloping..
Dont take a back step Mr Abramovich .. !! permanently sign GH …!!

i just read that real madrid are going to sell all their dutch players except hunterlaar this is good news. chelsea should get robben back and get sneijder. i dont think we should get van der vaart hes not really a good player and is very injury prone
From the game,we can see that ashley and ivanovic help cover the opposite position when the other is nt there……i think ivanovic is very organised and i love watching him win headers…pone major signing chelsea should get is HIDDINK!!!
@ kool
van der Vaart is not a good player? are you off your rocker?
Sneijder is better than vdv..but he is a good player..

some dody saw Gerrad for me in the match?thanks a lot essien
Anchelotti is not a bad coach, and i can see why RA is after him. In Italy, well most of europe, apart from england, its the sporting director or what ever they call decides which player comes in and goes, rather than the manager, and the so called coach is supposed to train them and play with whatever players are brought by the club. i guess RA can buy all his fantasy players again once he appoint, Anchellotti LOL…. No wonder Jose is not very happy wid Inter..
I dont understand why so many of our fans want all this big name players ? they are gonna cost a lota money and i can bet half of them will not cut in premiereship. Why do we need Sneijder ?? when we hav a midfield of mikel, essien and lampard (not too sure about ballack and decos, future, i guess ballack might be still here next season. ) why do we need diego or van der vaat ? all attacking midfield players, who are brilliant on the ball, but none of these players are known for their pace. what we need is cple of young pacy wide players, some one inda mould of robben and duff used to be,,, we were terrific when we had drogba, robben and duff in a 4-3-3. we still have J cole coming back from injury, all we need is 2 or 3 players max, 1 striker 2 wide players.
I think DD and DV would not go together. But if they both hit form in one match we could be 8-0 up!

Replying to CFC:
I agree wit you on both ur comments. Shouldnt we have learned something from lfs?? No for anti-lotti
and if RA gonna spend alot of cash atleast spend it on someone who will give us the minimum of 5-6 year…
as much as I love Villa, he is tiny and I dont know if he would actually be a hit in the EPL. Inters Balotelli? or Aguero? maybe..
the worst thing there is, its not to learn from ur mistakes!
I think RA should look at Louis Van Gaal for the next manager.
pavluychenko? would do okay at chelsea, but then again, i guess, hiddink knows chelsea and team russia well enough to make appropriate suggestions
i think van der vaart would not be a bad acquisition with the up and down form of ballack and deco set to leave, we’d have less choice in midfield, my only gripe, is i think the player covering right centre midfield needs to be a stallion (tall preferably, fast and strong with plenty of stamina) vdv is not big, nor strong, nor good in the air, id be much happier with some one like yaya toure, but then again these kinds of players are rare so perhaps we do need to concentrate on getting mikel up to speed
ancellotti? the story worries me because last season we did approach milan for him but i pray we dont get him, i dont think we would anyway, im more or less certain its going to be rijkaard
id love to have david villa, but in our formation, he wouldn’t work, he is like anelka, we need more players like drogba, ibrahimovic would be a deadly partner, but then again, so could di santo, or even pavluychenko
We all know liverpool is gonna come at us in the second leg. I say chelsea should come out and win that game by atleast 3 goals to nill. We need to trash and squash them. They need to learn to respect the bridge. So this is revenge time. They will be running around but they know that and fear we will come back anytime. They will not feel comfortable playing with us now. So now is the time to crush them. Atleast three goals. Or 4,5 or 6. But we need to squash them. That should be a good lesson ………………….

From what I understand, Guus didn’t suggest pavluychenko for Chelsea.
This what Guus had to say about the fans Player of the Month (for March).
‘It is important of course and he is having this beautiful period although to be honest he could have scored one more at least in the first half of the last game,’ Hiddink assessed. ‘He knows that himself, but he is hot to play and is very energetic.
‘That’s where it pays off to him and also to the team. That’s one of the tasks of a coach to get the best out of individuals and make a strong team to adjust all the qualities of all players.’
This why I like Guus, he can walk the talk. He knows what he is doing and he is respected by the players and they are responding to him, that’s for sure.
All his ancellotti bull, I cant stand it. First of all, he wont be able to communicate wit the players, the media and the fans…how is he gonna express himself or make the players understand? plus he have only been in Milan coach(am not sure if he played abroad as a player thought). Anyway guys like GUUS, they been every were, there for they have the necessary experience. There are very few coaches out there that are good enough for the coaching job at SB, and anti-lotti is not one of them.
Franky R, David moyas are good Candidates! But if I had to pick one, I would go for Guus to stay wit us (which seems impossible right now).
Lets win a both the FA-cup and CL and maybe RA can work out a deal wit the russian FF=)
Chelsea players want mourinho as next coach except one senior member..who is that one..?Anelka…?

@zaneeb LOL..Anelka..senior??HAHA..btw where’d you read this thing??please dont say Goal.com..
Hope Abramovich can work out something to keep Guus or if not get Rijkaard. These are the coaches we need to build our team.
Anyway about Sneijder and VDV i wouldn’t go for any of them whilst I would instead trade Alex for Yoann Gourcuff. He is tall, experienced
and would fit in our squad perfectly. He is the best candidate I would go for.
Anyone had a look at Ben Sahar, our israeli prodigy so far.Damn it, when he gets back from loan.I would wish he gets into the starting line-up.
He is too much a player for De Grasschaap. He has become let me say a deadly striker indeed who only needs a team like Chelsea to
supply the ball to him to score. For now, I would rate him higher than Anelka.Cos he has pace, can dribble and has that eye for a goal he used to
have in Tel Aviv.Guus get him back as soon as possible.Just too good.
Summer aquisition:
1.Yoann Gourcuff
2.Alan Dzagoev
3.Yuri Zhirkov
4.Tevez or C.Rodriguez of Porto.
For today’s game,
Ivanovic–Carvalho—Terry–A.Cole
Mikel
Essien—–Lampard—Miroslav
Kalou—Drogba
Sub:Di santo, Malouda, Anelka,Hilario,Mancienne,Deco,Alex.

gotta agree wit you fully on the coaching thing.
and Yoann Gourcuff, one hella of a player. he got all the asset to be superb. hope we can get a player up and coming like him instead of players who already peaked. I dont know this alan dzagoev. but zhirkov teves or rodriguez are very very good players.
da only thing I dont agree wit you, ben sahar better then The french blurr?? come on, how can u undermine what anelka have done for us? were would we be witout him and drogba sidlined for most of the begining of the season? the day ben S. scores alots of goals in the EPL maybe ..and maybe only then I will consider him better then anelka
