What good is a weekend without football?
Now you’ll tell me there was football this weekend. International football means nothing to me unless it is in proper stages of tournaments or there is something really really exciting happening there. For all this indifference towards international football and breaks, this time around I’ve welcomed this break. The reason is, Man Utd seem to be heading for a freefall if not in one already. Having lost in two successive games for the first time in many seasons, they must be itching to play again to get back to winning ways. Now they’re put on hold. All their rush of blood must take a break. That helps is in the bigger scheme of things.
Of course Chelsea lost as well. That was the most shitty thing to happen when Man Utd lost, but it did happen. Someone needs to put Man Utd on pressure. If it’s Liverpool, I’m fine with that. If Liverpool’s pressure on Man Utd helps us, we can slowly sneak back in. And then if it’s between Liverpool and us, no problems. Rafa’s decisions will put more pressure on Liverpool than Chelsea would ever be able to. Then the title is ours. I know we are not in the race and we need a miracle to even join the race, let alone win it. But what harm in just letting your imaginations run wild?
So let’s catch up on some footie news in the last week. Hiddink is not going to stay with Chelsea. He has said this a million times now. Still, everyday I get to see news like ‘Hiddink hints Chelsea stay’ or ‘Guus: I’m going’ or ‘Guus: I won’t stay here even if I’m dead’ and all that. I think he’s made it pretty clear. He has a contract with Russia. Not just a contract, he thinks he has a responsibility to take Russia through for the world cup. In fact, this week and next week, he is managing Russia and not Chelsea. He has a contract with Chelsea only until end of May. He has said that he would not consider Chelsea unless Russia gets eliminated. I don’t want Russia to get knocked off just for Hiddink to join chelsea. Russia are a good team now and they deserve a place in the world cup.
Hiddink also talked about the possibility of him being a consultant for Chelsea beyond May. I’m never a fan of roles like football director or such consultants who end up overlapping with the manager bruising each other’s egos. Hiddink does not look like a manipulative guy and he looks and sounds like a big man. A man who’s not cheap or silly or cunning. So his being a consultant might even work. Whatever the outcome is, I don’t want Chelsea to start their manager hunt yet. We’ve got time for that. I read somewhere that Peter Kenyon is tight-lipped about Ancelotti becoming Chelsea manager. Those kind of news are just scary. Ancelotti? No, please no.
In other news, Rafael van der Vaart wants to leave Real Madrid for Chelsea. I love van der Vaart. He is a fantastic player and I’d love to see him as a Chelsea player. He says that he’d like to join Chelsea and also claims that Chelsea have shown their interest. That’s where I think Hiddink’s value comes in. Just like Scoalri was wooing Brazilian players, Guus can bring in those magnificent Dutch. If any of these Dutch players end up joining Chelsea, you can be rest assured that Guus is here to stay, as manager or whatever. The only problem I have with a probable van der Vaart deal is the whole deal itself. It’s very well documented that Real Madrid are double crossing bastards when it comes to the transfer market. Not sure if they would start behaving like a football club when talks about van der Vaart start.
Elsewhere, in the wordy duel between Fergie and Rafa about who spent more, the best comment came from neither. David Moyes was asking why is that they are fighting that the other team spent more while they don’t open this topic at all when they visit places like Goodison park. Top interception that one. Money does get you success. There are enough examples for teams with less money winning things and big spending teams getting stuffed out. That was a lame comment by Rafa. We know that he and his team have got Fergie and Man Utd’s number. Rafa is on a high after a few very good results and signing a long term deal. Rafa said this money thing only to fuel the fire because he was winning the battles but still that was really a lame comment.
Next up, Newcastle away on Saturday. On that very day, Man City can win at Emigrants, Fulham at home can hold Liverpool. The next day, Aston Villa can dump Man Utd in deep shite. All this can happen. What should also happen is Chelsea beating Newcastle. Hoping for all this.
Very interesting post BC, but nevertheless, good reading.
I am glad Lampard scored a goal on the England outing, as he was slightly plain in our last two games. I’m all hype-up for our CL away first leg, for me, it will be the Game of the Season especially at Antfield, it is all about pride and revenge. KTBFFH!!!
OUT: Malouda,Anelka,Ivanovic,Ballack,
IN:Van Der Vaart,Ashley Yong , Vagner Love

THE BEST FORMACION IN THE WORLD:
funny how lampard gets so much crap but his ratings are always better than gerrard’s, same as ashley cole versus wes brown and gary neville
i hate watching england games. I think capello has better tactics than sven and mcclaren, but in terms of selection, is just as bad, he still picks the big names and although apparently he is giving others a chance, i dont think so, the fact ashley young hasn’t been called up says it all
to be honest, i see this consultant role as a way to pave for rijkaard’s arrival, i think guus would act more like a mentor rather than an interferring kenyon
with the kind of players we look set to buy, it looks like we are moving in the direction of that old barca 4-2-2-2
id welcome ashley young, yuri zhirkov and rafael van der vaart with open arms, and with talks of daniel sturridge, it makes me think the tables are truly going to turn this season and i look foward to it
imagine this squad
cech
bosingwa – carvahlo – terry – a.cole
mikel
essien
lampard
young van der vaart
drogba
and you still have a bench of ballack, maybe quaresma, zhirkov, anelka, belletti, alex
i doubt we’d play a 4-3-3 after this summer but just imagine the difference, the sunshine outside suddenly seems brighter
as for football, a likely set of results considering current form of all teams
well i should say weekend without football is really boring… looks like its been ages since chelsea played…..
As much as I love older players such as Ballack and Drogba, they will probably be on the way out. Deco will most definitely join them. I think Chelsea should invest into young talented players, such as Van der Vaart and Ashley Young who are rumored. I like Quaresma, but if we want to keep him it will be too expensive, Inter paid about 24 million for him I think. I have a feeling though we will be seeing the back of quite a few players. We need to make some big changes, I don’t know how much our budget will be or how much Roman is willing to invest, but I think we need to sign a young big name striker such as Aguero or Benzema, look at the difference it made when Torres joined Liverpool. Point is, we should get rid of our older players who are past their prime, and invest into youth.
Dear BC,
I always read and enjoy thoroughly your articles but it is only today that i am commenting. Personally, for me a weekend without football match (Chelsea match to be precise) is so boring, semi-dead! And it is a torturous time when they are on season’s break for three looooooooooooong months! But Saturday is not far and i hope the likes of Geremi and Duff won’t disappoint us.
My own list of summer in’s and out’s:
Out: Deco (useless like a golden boot), Ballack (very unpleasant ball handling and team play he is showing), Malouda (worse than Robben’s mom!), Quaresma (don’t let him spoil our lovely right flank asset, but anyway he will be leaving this summer…no buying him, let the loan deal be over), Alex (thought you were a good deputy to Riccy, i was wrong) and Ferreira (injury-plagued!).
In: Jose Mourinho (The Special One!), Van Der Vaart and Robben 9Dutch combination) and Zaki.
Assuming Riccy pulls through and others are fit, the ideal formation for the remaining games for us would be:
4:1:3:3
Cech
Bosingwa, Riccy, Terry, A Cole
Mikel
Essien, Lampard, Quaresma
Kalou, Drogba, Anelka
Subs: Hilario, Manciene, Alex, Belletti, Ballack
Deserved to be in reserves: Malouda and Deco
I must be the only one who fancied this international break. I was so mad after we lost to the spurs, I even stopped coming here. I have seen some highlights of our Chelsea players playing for their respective national team. Ballack scored an awesome goal, so typical! Both Kalou and drogba scored for their countries. Anelka didn’t join France. I saw the whole game between Portugal and Sweden. Ricky was good and Jose was Jose. In the second half Deco came in and he looked like the old deco and that was really surprising specially since he just came back from an injury, that according to the first reports was going to side line him for the rest of the season. This means great news for Chelsea????????
Russia won so that means Guus is feeling good. Hope Guus helps Chelsea nick Zirkov.
To TruePlatinum, I have seen Ashley Young play for England. If am not mistaken I saw him against German in a friendly.
Newcastle up next, hmm lets play well and get on a roll for the CL-clash wit Liverpool. After what they did to Aston Villa, I se them cause us a lot of problems. Maybe more then we can have answers for. There for it’s really important that our key players stays healthy and starts to perform on a high….
/K
KarmaCW, u got 12 players in the team…. now that’s the idea blues should have thought earlier…lol
BC, I think you are the most optimistic Chelsea supporter. Pessimist guys like me have given up on title months back (saves me from heart attack or anger attack which watching matches against wigan or spurs resp. :) ). But what the heck, I’ll borrow some optimism from you & see how it goes till season ends. Anyways we have FA cup & CL to look forward to. Let’s hope we’ll take our revenge against Looserpool.
KTBFFH
GUSS must replace bosingwa with IVANOVIC ,he is one of the best unknown defenders in the world. This is so sad that he is on the bench.
how many star midfielder will be having in chelsea which may be difficult to choose which player to be included in the game. i am happy with the current team just will have to look after anelka he may be replaced by j.cole who is a good player
Im sick and tired of these international breaks, it annoys me to bits to see Lampard not get the credit that he deserves, Gerrard always gets all the media glory, just because he has been scoring a lot of penalties he’s all of a sudden the best player in the world. He’s scored something like 8/9 penalties in his 21 goals bagged so far this season. Lamps has scored only 1 penalty out of the 16 goals he’s bagged so far and statistically Lamps is also a better finisher then Gerrard, has bagged more career goals and has made more assists over the years, both have scored 15 goals for England. Although Gerrard hardly turns up for England, Lamps on the other hand was England’s player of the year for 2 years running and guided England into Euro 2004, so why the hell does Gerrard get all this bullshit glory for bagging penalties?? It really gets on my nerves how fickle the media and all these football pundits are, im not sayin Stevie is not a good player but c’mon Lamps is just as good if not better, so what the hell is up with this let’s jump on the Gerrard wagon all about.
Im sorry but I had to get that out of my system, neway a beautiful goal scored by Lamps and a another beautiful set up for Rooney. Ballack also scored a howler for Germany and Drogba bagged 2 for Ivory Coast and Kalou scored 1 aswell. Ivanovic also scored for Serbia, so morale is on the high between Chelsea players. Scoring a goal for your country really boosts a player’s morale and motivates them highly, I just hope our players can take this high into the CL first leg at Anfield. Transfer talk now, come summer we all expect big changes at the bridge and hopefully things will change for the best and we can have the squad able to shut Manure, Arseanal and Looserpool once and for all!!
In the summer we must bring back ben sahar cant u we see he is doing well in holland.U gotta watch Isreal vs Greece.
i want chelsea to win the champions league so badly this season. please chelsea
Replying to Jaz: Im glad Ivano scored!! but you know im just surprised he has not scored for us yet…. i guess he just needs more time on the pitch
Replying to kool: me too kool!! me too!!
we really pushed well last season .. but a lack of a true manager really hurt us
kuhai@7
How can Kalou and Drogba score for their “own countries” when both are from the Ivory Coast ?
Reply to TrueBlueDDP: “KarmaCW, u got 12 players in the team…. now that’s the idea blues should have thought earlier…lol”
Exactly, i haven’t noticed it until you pointed it out! Anyway this shows how desperate we are to topple Manure and Scoucers! I fear if we can win EPL, but i am hopeful of the FA and UEFA (come who may, be it lesserpool, we are going to fight and win it!).
Deco may be fit and might ahve played well for his country, but i don’t want him to help lesserpool and manure by spoiling our midfield. He should get lost, and fast! Alex and Ballack must show their back this summer! They still deserve to be on the bench but malouda and deco can’t be compromised with their awful blunders!
Replying to JoseHoliday:
ma bad….
van der vaart is not what chelsea need, he is good but we dont need another attacking midfielder. Ivanovic is ok but from what i have seen as a true RB bosingwa offers much more then ivanovic. Now i really like ivanovic he can play RB and CB very competently, he doesnt have the speed to really allow a major threat down the right which is why bosingwa gets the nod.
What chelsea needs is a pair of really good wingers. Either keep quaresma and get a good left winger or get two good ones.
I really don’t understand why people want alex to be offloaded fast.H e has performed very well in many occasion…maybe he had a bad game against tottenham…but i think he is a very gd player
i read that chelsea want trezeguet for 8 million why the hell do we need him hes rubbish and old why wont chelsea learn their lesson
I really don’t understand why people want alex to be offloaded fast.H e has performed very well in many occasion…maybe he had a bad game against tottenham…but i think he is a very gd player
Good point, Alex may not be among the best DC but definitely a great backup. Just like the ex-backups like Wayne Bridge & Cudicini. There will be crucial times in a season where we need players like them. KTBFFH….

possible new jersey!! tell me what you think guys
hi denver, i saw those last christmas and i do hope they never see the light of day, they are horrendous
on our bosingwa issue, with the right coaching, he will develop, discipline is another issue
van der vaart, maybe not what we need but he can only help us improve
alex is fine and with confidence he will be a good partnership with terry, have we already forgotten his performances at the start of the season?
trezeguet, not happening, injury prone, old, and off form, not the way foward
deco is supposed to be out for the season.. yet he played for Portugal today…. is it that he does not want to put his best foot forward for chelsea??
Reply to denver:
I have seen the replica shirts for 2009-10 season, it is not a good design.
And on Deco’s issue, it is that he doesn’t want to play for us, and personally i have observed that we play better without him, so it is all the good for us that he is waiting for the summer! He spoils our midfield, he is totally a different Deco, not the one we used to see in Nou Camp! He is shit!!! And Chelsea is not the place for shit to be, i want him to get lost … i just cannot tolerate the sight of him on the ground. I can play better than him!
Alex is vvetter than most centreback in the league. Most corners,he will attack the ball.In assition to his missile kick,I think he is a very gd centre.Forgive him for some of his mistakees….and think nabout his extremely good performance and nt dwell on his little mistakes.
i hope trezequet is just a rumour no need of old players we have enough already need a young striker of 22 to 25 or 26 if exceptional
Trezequet’s agent confirms Chelsea’s interest ???? WTF man when are we going to learn from our mistakes, why are we trying to bring in old has been which are 100% going to flop in the PL and all they seem to do is add to the high wages we are known for paying. Liverpool are trying to lure the likes of David Silva, David Villa, Robben, Kun Aguero. Those are the types of players Chelsea should be going for, players with potential and a future at the club, not players 32 years old with 6 months left before their legs fall off. We have made enough mistakes by going for these 30+ players and by far none of them have shined for Chelsea – Sheva – Ballack – Deco being prime examples of this. Benzema, Diego, VDV, Ashley Young, Aguero, Silva, Villa – These are the kind of potential names we should be trying to bring to the bridge, not old has been dinosaurs because with them come the end of next season we will again have no silverware in our hands!!!
i dont think trez will come to chelsea
Hi guys,
its been a long time since I have come here.
The international break comes at the right time for me and chelsea. My exams were going on,finshed now.
It looks like we arent in the title race anymore.Everybody knows that but still 8 games to go,anytthing can happen.I am happy with Guus’ progress. The team has changed a lot.
However there is still some minor mistakes which we clearly saw in the defeat to Spurs.
Ballack-DM the guy has never played this role.Essien should have done it when he is there on the pitch. But he might be thinking that Essien can go forward and do some damage. He is right about this but he needs to put a good DM.I do not understand why wasnt Mikel playing. We saw against Juventus how good was he and Essien also played good considering his return form injury. He needs to think a bit on this issue.
Also he started Belleti,Belleti looks simply useless when he starts,as a sub he is superb. We have seen it so many times.Effective in Turin also. But against Spurs, played an hour and got subbed, hardly did anything.
As for the title and Champs League,we need to decide what do we want more.I would say Champs League.
The only advantage I can see from our draw is that all of the teams in our draw are involved in the title race in their respective leagues.
We can give Liverpool a dose of their own medicine by resting our team this weekend. Those b******* rested their entire team once before playing us in the 2nd leg seims at Anfield. We can do the same.
But I do not think it will happen.Coz its not in any chelsea player’s blood to give up the title unless it is mathematically proven we cant win it.
I like this spirit a lot.
Hope we advance to the semis in the Champs league. We just need things to happen for us.And they will happen for sure.
Dont worry.We will go through.
KTBFFH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard that Bendtner is coming to Chelsea in summer!!!
Guys take it easy. It’s April Fool’s day today!!!!
Just a bit of News for our next game,Newcastle have appointed Shearer
as their manager till the end of the season. But he doesnt have any coaching experience, does he??
ballack scored thunder in todays game against wales, possibly best goal,i have ever seen from him…goal from 35 neter long, very stylish shot too…
Ballack´s goal was a real cracker. Hope he´ll start scoring for chelsea as well!
Why is Ballack so damn good for his nation but not like he was last season at Chelsea? Please Ballack, I know you are world-class but I miss that spark and deadly goalscoring touch you have when you play for your nation!
He play attacking mid+playmaker in Germany and defensive mid for Chelsea atm. You cant compare the positions. TO play like for Germany, he have to play in Lampards position, it is not like he dont play well for Chelsea, he does not even play in his natural position.
Ballack- 8.0: The captain was excellent tonight. He looked to be enjoying the game and stamped his quality on proceedings throughout. His goal was fantastic and he showed a number of brilliant touches throughout the match.

hopes ballack scoring spree continues in chelsea shirt also! the goal against wales was nice but the volley shot he scored in the perivous game was great 2.

Ashley Cole always sucks,he is a shame for chelsea,I think Capello will drop him in the future.
Ashely Cole Sucks ??? Fair enough he had a really bad night for England, giving away possesion and making a couple of mistakes, but that does not make him suck. To be precise when Cole is on form, he is considered the best left back in the world let alone PL, only Evra can challenge cole in that position. Cole is the reason Ronaldo is asked not to play on his side because Ahyley simply owns him and neutralises any threat posed by the so called best player in the world. I wudn’t go as far and say that he sucks mate, cause he is one of our best players on the pitch.
Neway news on the block is Bosignwa could miss the first leg of CL against Lpool, well that certainly means he will miss this Saturday’s game against Newcastle. Well no worries because Mancienne can fill his role as a RB, but would Mancienne be a good replacement against Lpool ?? Only time will tell. Ballack scored an absolute stunner and personally he might be able to do the same for Chelsea if he is allowed to play as an AMF. The biggest reason Ballack has been unable to shine for us is because we never actually played him in his normal position. Rewind back to last year, the game against Man Utd at the bridge, Lampard didn’t play that game sadly because of his mum’s death. So Ballack was allowed to play as an AMF, what was the result ?? He scored 2 Goals against UTD. Ballack plays the same way for Germany and played the same way for Bayern as an Attacking Mid but at Chelsea we can’t have Lamps and Ballack play the same role so that is possible the biggest reason for him to never show the best of his abilities. The International is perhaps just what we needed, hopefully it will break off the momentum Lpool have built up but at the same time hopefully it will continue UTD’s momentum of losing. PL is probably out of the hand but we need to make the most out of the FA and CL cups. — Chelsea 4 Life –
Jaz….nv agreed more wif u……..ashley cole gave me assurance in the left…he’s fast!hmm…since ballack excel as a AMF,I suggest ballack and lampard playing tt role wif either essien or mikel in the holding role….this will allow ballack to do his usual……..
Ashley Cole always sucks,he is a shame for chelsea,I think Capello will drop him in the future.
Are you gone nuts?
Its really pathetic that some fans don’t give defenders due credit for their performances. Do you even know that Ashley is running for the best player of Chelsea for the season just behind Lamps. He has been spectacularly consistent throughout the season for us. In the game against Ukraine, he was good in the first half but just faded in the 2nd with some blunders. Every player has an off match here and there mate.
It was really nice to see most of our Chelsea players scoring for their nation:
Ivanovic
Drogba
Kalou
Lampard
Terry
Ballack
Now that’s a huge list. This could provide the players the impetus to put forth their best.
I saw the England game and it was a decent performance by all Chelsea players. What infuriated me was the Goal.com rating Lamp – 5/10. Its foolish to even comment on these stupid raters. Lamps was playing deep and wasn’t allowed a free run to the frontline which he usually relishes in his blue jersey. His distribution was nothing less than awesome. Made gutsy tackles and won the ball many a times. Was the source for England’s 1st goal. And still more to be rated only 5? May God teach them football.
I agree with those in support of Ashley Cole, he is by far one of the most consistent player for Chelsea in our past few season. You may not like his attitude or lifestyle but you cannot discredit him for his performance for both England and Chelsea. The LB position is our most vulnerable position at the moment because of Wayne Bridge’s departure and I think we will have a hard time getting another classy LB willing to become backup for A.Cole for few years at least.
Got a short True story to share…
Yesterday, I watched the England match with a few friends which comprise of two Arsenal fans, a Liverpool die-hard fan and a very biased & defensive Manchester United fan (the worse combination of character for a football fan). After 15 minutes of the match, one of the Gunners started the England Captain topic and all were in discussion of who’s better and such. Much to my surprise, here is a short summary of their opinion;
The first Gunner; “Whether you like it or not, Terry is the best candidate at the moment and his presence is important for England.”
The Second Gunner; “While Terry the England Defender may sometimes be disappointing against faster players but Terry the England Captain makes a huge difference in the team’s morale and spirit. He organizes everything from midfield line down.”
The Manchester United fan; “When Rio Ferdinand wears the England Captain Armband, he is like Superman and plays much much better. He can play superbly for 120-minutes if needed. Unfortunately, he fails to command other Englishman let alone lead them defensively. So, Terry is the best bet but only second to Beckham; if only David can play full 90-minutes football”. [a typical ManUnited fans reply]
The Hardcore Die-Hard Fan of Anfield; “I don’t like Gerrand being England Captain, if he is, he tends to talk too much and do too much and do less footballing on the pitch. I cannot see him bossing around the team with the likes of Lampard, Terry, Rio, Rooney or even Barry. He is the BEST Captain for Liverpool, period. Even if he moves to Real Madrid or AC Milan, he might not be a good Captain. So my vote goes to Terry, so far he has proven to be neutral in England.”
Well for me, being a Chelsea fan and watched Terry plays for the Chelsea first team since 2001, I’m biased so my opinion is predictable.
speaking about ballack, i thought he is below average player who is hyped so much…but the real fact his he is great player….yesterday i had chance to watch germany vs wales match, he is playing as a amf, and the goal was amazing nd his previous goal( volley) to great…after seeing his goals, and his goal scoring record for his country (42 goals from 90 matches)..i have never seen an midfielder who had scored 40+ goals in international level even zidan not reached that level….hope chelsea plays him as amf role, we can remember the way a.grant used him as a amf role, thats wre he is best nd take my word, he is pure class nd better than lampard :)
Replying to CJ – 17th year CFC (slightly) Happy Fan:
lol, for the last line.
Replying to joe:
agree with you. he is as good as, if not better than super Franky. Ballacks position in chelsea formation is like the position Gerrard used to play for liverpool, left, right, as DM. benetiz reinstalled in CAM and see the results. same is true with ballack. You can´t hope him to score when he is played as DM or holding role.
added to my list of pet hates are those who hate ashley cole, we have the best wingback pairing in the world, we have conceeded less ronaldo goals then any team thats played ronaldo and ashley has been that reason, fergie plays him on the other side of the pitch because he knows this, evra has never had to deal with such a threat quite rightly pointed out by jaz
ashley plays every match for us and almost for england, he is consistent and is flourishing for us far more than arsenal, rooney has more bookings than ashley already, anyone care to slate him?
every player makes mistakes and gives away the ball now and then, just because it is high profile doesnt make him poor
argentina lost 6-1 to bolivia, but does that really make them rubbish, do you see them not making the knock outs of the world cup?
on the ballack saga, we had it just right last season but then again he was playing a box to box role most of the time with makelele behind him, i guess a big thing is the players confidence in going foward. As a good example, england vs croatia 2-3, the wingbacks wouldn’t advance because carson was oh so wobbly so in comparison, would lampard and ballack roam free all the time with mikel behind them? we cpuld play essien in the holding role but we wont get the best out of him in the holding role so we need to decide who should flourish, essien or ballack
personally, id say ballack as his attacking prowess is what we need right now
i like cj’s comment about the captain of england, i laugh at how other supporters will sometimes chip in and say terry shouldnt wear it, but just like the lampard being rubbish argument, there are no justifiable reasons
looking ahead over the next week, we have a ‘rejuvenated’ shearer flavoured newcastle
bosingwa has some sort of bite shaped hole in his leg so he wont be playing, i think mancienne should start here and then we can consider belletti if necessary. Newcastle have alot of injuries and are playing very poorly, nonetheless, they can pose a threat, but we should be relentless against them
for our scouse encounter, i think mancienne should be given the nod to start, he needs to start building his confidence up and there is no better time to do it
with shearer return this match will be in good tonic 4 liverpool clash at anfield . i think guus should rest lamps and give ballack
amf role 4 this match. lamps can come as sub if this does not work . lamps is very important 4 anfield.come on u blues spoil
shearers party.
Theres this very talented albanian player his name is Besart Berisha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TSLMjgv7Po http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXCQxmAE-7g&feature=related check him out
Ashley Cole was decent against Ukraine. I would say the whole team played poorly in the second half. I wouldn’t single out Ashley as being that bad. The fact is he couldn’t burst forward as he would have liked to due to the cover up he had to do for right footed Gerrard. I would say Glen Johnson was very poor on the other side. Despite controlling the game they couldn’t kill of the game and that almost cost England 2 points, hadn’t been for JT´s winner. I think Rooney was the star man, and I consider him England´s Most valuable player, so in order for England to go far in the WC he needs to stay fit and healthy.
Ballack is a great player, but that’s why we expect him to show his greatness on a weekly basis. He may not be playing in his favorite position, and that probable stopping him from shining the way playing a holding midfielder is doing for lampsy, but we cant really excuse him for his sloppy and nonchalant play he have displayed recently for Chelsea. Its not only the fact that he is not scoring but dude be giving away the ball every other time. Now that he´s got his Ballackish confident back hopefully his best of the season is still to come in this crunch time we are in.
As for JT, well opposing fans can say what they want, the bottom line is if they would have a chance to get JT they would kill to have him, for his leadership and the fact that his a winner!
Did Jose B. injure himself playing for Portugal? Well as some pointed out I am going to feel confident if Guus plays Michael Mancienne in his place.
yes even i read the Bosingwa got injured..
and Ballack..I saw the highlights of both Germany games..he was brilliant..I dont know but i get a feeling he’ll be crucial against liverpool..
Sad. Drogba won’t be in the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Newcastle. Hope he is okay on Wed night against Lpool. Bosi is injured.
I would give a rest to my important players like Lamps, Terry, A.Cole, Ballack….. We have such an important game coming up next week so it should be fair enough to rest the players who deserve it.
My 11 for tomorrow’s game would be:
——————————-Cech——————————–
—Ivanovic———-Alex——–Carvalho——-Mancienne—
——————————–Mikel——————————
—————-Essien————————Deco—————
———Quaresma———–Di Santo———–Kalou———
Subs: Hilario,Terry,A.Cole, Ballack, Anelka, MaloudaBelletti
3-0 to Chelsea
drogbas footinjury dont seem to be that bad, I think he will be fine for liverpools game. Replying to bookcengham: I wish we could do that as well, but I dont se that happening though. jt lampsy ashley and ballack havent really have had any rest at all.

Am I the only person who thinks we lost to sign Giovinco .. I don’t know why Juventus sold him . Now he will play for 2 years in Arsenal and commanding a 30 MM euros
Tomorrow match, I think a 1-0 win would be good as we have players coming from duty and an emotional alan shearer at Newcastle.
@cfc – Giovinco didn’t leave Juventus…the article was an April Fools joke published on Goal.com
Not a chance in hell that Juve would sell, in my opinion, their greatest acquisition since Del Piero!
