Chelsea 1-0 Man City | Let’s keep winning!
We were all over them. The result was not a true reflection of the performance. Hiddink has been talking about controlling the game. In this match, I could see that Chelsea were in complete control. I think yesterday we played like the Chelsea of title winning seasons. While we could have scored 3 or 4 goals, Man City did not get even one decent shot on target. We never allowed Man City to pose us a threat. we defended at the back and controlled the midfield in such a way that Man City had simply no hopes at all.
We are winning home and away in premier league. We have eliminated Juventus in champions league. We are genuine favourites for the FA Cup. Hiddink has worked his magic. It would be foolish not to give him credit for this transformation. If Hiddink had taken charge at the beginning of the season and managed this winning run, I would not have gone ga ga over him. Because, that would have meant that he was just keeping us as good as we were. When Hiddink took over we were in shambles, mentally and also table-wise. He has turned us around.
When the team does not create chances, the manager is answerable. He needs to rethink the strategy or tactics or team selection or whatever. The manager needs to act. If the team is creating chances but are not able to score more than one goal, the players will certainly have to see why they couldn’t. This was a match that we must have won very very comfortably. Few of the misses must have been simply finished better. Drogba and Ballack being the main culprits.
That’s not to say Drogba and Ballack played poorly or something. They were very good. In fact, all of them played a fantastic match. Did you notice that Anelka’s work rate has improved by many times now? Do you see him constantly on the move trying to win balls, moving to space and all that stuff? Drogba seems to score a 7/10 or 8/10 every single match. With a solid defence at the back and sharp attack in the front, Lampard’s presence is much more effective than before.
It was Essien’s day. His goal was superb. He created that goal, of course with some help from Lampard. Essien’s performance yesterday was not just about that goal. I loved the way he played. Kind of reminded me what Essien is all about. Essien’s presence allowed Lampard to go further up. Also, all the attacks involved Essien. He was the focal point, he was the distribution system. It’s difficult not to talk about his workrate when we talk about Essien. That’s a given when it comes to Essien. But what was more interesting was the way he was playing the attacking midfielder’s role while he was not. I have been saying that we may not need a defensive midfielder in every single match. Given the strength of our defence and our keeper, we should use holding midfielders only in very very key matches. What we need is an intelligent and capable midfielder who can play either roles and switch quickly from one to other if required. Essien did just that. Essien’s come back also means less chances for Mikel. Or it is time to start using Mikel as a central midfielder or an attacking midfielder.
Overall, I was very happy with our performance yesterday. We bossed the game. We dominated Man City to a point where it was almost embarrassing for them. 30 million pound Robinho was as good as the 3 pound sticker of himself. If at all there was one thing that could have been better, that was finishing. But I do see that Hiddink has been continuously improving the team. He stopped us conceding. He got us better at set pieces. He got us winning. He got us controlling the games. He got us dominating the games. Now he has to get us finish more chances. It’s only a matter of time before we notch up those 3-0 and 4-0.
Liverpool’s thrashing of Man Utd was the best thing to happen in the weekend. They simply murdered the defending champions. This was Liverpool’s best result at Old Trafford in about 75 years. What a result to get in a big away game! Reminds me of our own 4-1 win at Anfield a couple of seasons back. I’m still not sure if this Man Utd defeat opens up the title race. They are still 4 points up with a game on hand. I’m very keen to see how they respond. If Man Utd drop points next match, I will start believing that the race is open. We are doing what we can best do. Keep winning matches; something might just happen!
Essien’s return has definitely been felt. What an all around top class player!
The ManU thrashing by Liverpool was an absolute delight. I’m not an fan of either team, but it puts us in second for the Prem and hopefully shatters the confidence ManU has and give us a chance to take first.
Wot a 9ice piece bt u made a slight mistake mikel presence in most of our matches does us more gud, ballack playd a defensive midfielder role yesterday compare his performance wit mikel, and mind u man-city did nt treaten chelsea an iota bt dat does nt erase d nid of defensive midfielder in major tournaments and mikel as been tested ok,despite dt it is gud 2 ve essien back he is indeed a WORKAHOLIC.long live chelsea
A good result…………..we should have infact demolished this waanabe “BIG CLUB”…man city of a side…………………
but anyways……..luck wasnt our side………
……..I am very happy this weekend…….thanks to liverpool……..They ANNihilated…..manures……..Torres…..ripped the so called best defender in the world of vidic….in shreds……….Liverppool showed man u mid field is nothing but ordinary…….They purely win cause… of theeir forward line……and the defence…which now seems to have been ripped apart…..inter milan could have elimnated them …had they better quality players….
Anyways……coming back to chlesea…whts worry me most is….the number of loong time injuries we having in such a crucial stage of the season…….joe col out …ferrea out…..and now deco out………..Man as it is our squad is wafer thin thanks to thre dumb transfer policy of kenyon and fat scolari……and now these injuries…,,..how we gonna cope up with hectic schedule towrads the end of season god knows……….
all i hope hiddinks arrival and essiens comeback ..will keep us rejunevated and fresh until the end of the season……..CAUSE after lat years heartbreak…..we all blue fans know…..The champions leauge is our holy grail …….and hope on our way to winning it ….we can humilate manu again……!!!!!……show tht they never desrved to be the champions last year.!!!!!!!!!
Hail to the blue brigade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a brilliant performance by Chelsea displayed yesterday at Stamford Bridge. In some ways City were lucky not to lose this match 3-0 but it was visibly clear that they were clearly embarrased and simply outplayed. Robinho did absolutely nothing much to the credit of the hardwork put in by our defense. Essien showed exactly what we had been missing during the vast periods of this season. The “Bison” is truly back and if we are to bring home alteast one peice of silverware this season then we need all our key players from now till the end of the season. Ballack did a good job in the holding midfeild role, he provided some good service to other players and his work rate has been increasing but still I think his glory days are far behind him. As we all know in the summer we can expect 4/5 players to leave and 4/5 players to arrive. Deco’s season may well be over due to his injury picked up in the game yesterday, it’s a bit sad considering maybe we could of seen the dominant side of Deco again but I guess not.
Deco, Ballack, Malouda, Ferraira, Ivanovic, Belletti and either Drogba/Anelka will be most likely on their way out at the end of the season. I think we should retain Quaresma as he can prove to be a brilliant player with some time on the pitch, also rather than going for some International player who might not prove to be a success, why don’t we try for Aaron Lennon?? He’s young with unbelievable pace and talent and he’s already proven himself in the PL. This aslo means that if we do get Zhirkov then we can use him and J.Cole as good subsitutes or even play J.Cole just behind the striker as he prefers. With Mikel as DM we can then unleash Essien and Lampard in CM and AMF positions, which is always going to prove a handfull for any team. A good balance of Speed + Power + Expereince is what Chelsea needs and hopefully next season we will have our prayers answered.
nice read BC, ths is the chelsea we know, like some one said, they defended like their life depends on it and attacked like there is no tomorrow. every single player deserves credit, including ballack, hes 32, and i know hes not the fastest player, but he does gives us ariel options when necessary. We should jus keep winning every single game till end of the season and i am sure man u will drop sme points. They wer lucky to get past inter wid the 2 goals, only if inter had some quality in thier finishing, Jose was quite good with his tactics putting balottelli against John O shea, and going for a 4-5-1 in that game, exactly wat liverpool did.
Every team goes to OLD trafford wid a fear and man u capitalise on that everytime, arsenal are probably the only team who attacks man u, and they gets their reward as well for that. man u has been poor this season, i dont care wat others say about them, but considering last season, wer they dispatches teams wid 3 or 4 goals, this season they wer winning 1-0 wid all the luck inda world.
what happened to the world player of the year ronaldo in the game ? Hes good against average full backs, wer he does his usual step over and full back goes sliding in and completely miss the ball and the man, but i have never seen ronaldo wid his fancy step overs against our ashley cole. Aurielo and lucas on one side and kuyt and carragher jus compeltely locked him in that game.
fulham manager mr hogdson has said, dont expect too much favour from them to both liverpool and chelsea, wat a twat,,,,, atleast hav a go at man u,,,,
The good thing is that Man U have 10 games, one more than us to play. That clearly provides a higher probability in the system that they might lose a game(is that against Arsenal?) and draw two (newcastle? and middelsbrough? or is it Aston Villa?), which equals to loss of seven points (even four draws would do now). Now if that happens, coz the pressure is all over them and therefore would most probably happen (the fact that liverpool and chelsea share the same points will make it even harder for Manures), the things we need to do is win our remaining 9 games and have a better goal difference.
That puts it as Hiddink claimed, the title race is wide open, atleast till upcoming 7 fixtures and provided that we win every game!
We need better finishings , Guus and players must work on it. Malouda and Ballack are poor in finishings, and sometimes Drogba.
“If we’d scored the second, it might have been a 4-0 game. We have to finish them off. That’s the only criticism we can have.” quotes Guus Hiddink
Thats a reaction of a world class manager, always demanding for more even when we are winning. This man is taking nothing for granted, and for that, I salute him. With the recent performances, I wish I can fast-forward my week to the next Chelsea fixture. Those who love Chelsea like I do will understand this. When Essien scored, I practically jump up to the roof and scream with joy and according to my wife, it has been awhile since I behave such a way… what a feeling which I’ve missed for so too long. To be honest with all of you, I’ll be happy if our season ends with just one trophy and anything more than that will be an early X’mas present at Stamford Bridge. With such a precedent set by Guus, it will be hard for any other manager to walk in next season without being compare to the Dutch Wizard. KTBFFH!!!
(p.s: Does anyone knows why Quaresma is not being use as much as we would love him to? I believe there must be a story behind it.)
Well my theory is that when our own starting 11 are fit and in great form, bringing in a loan player as starter would negatively affect the team moral. Therefore i expect him to appear in subs, or he may play when we are sure that we can no more win the premiership.
secondly quaresma cannot play in CL. So hiddink wants to train the players who can play CL and get them prepared as soon as possible. Remember it is this team that played yesterday thats going to feature in CL, and Guus has very less preparation time. So he must be using premier League to bring them back to their sharpest form. We are not in preseason period but at the end of it….
so the players he´s going to get involved in coming week is,
Cech, Hilario
Bosingwa, belleti, alex, carvalho, terry, ivanovic, A. cole, ferreira
ballack, essien, mikel, lampard, malouda, stoch
dd, anelka, kalou, di santo
good thing is its paying off what hiddink has been trying.
bad thing is i hope they wont be a victim of ultimate fatigue….(and thats quite unlikely because DD, carvalho, Essien missed the most part of the season!! they can drive our team, so i´m confident what hiddink has been doing is right). But what i am always afraid of is injury at bad time. lets hope that won´t happen.
essien will take Mikel’s place because Essien gives us DRIVE…. mikel is too -ve in his play….. if you look at essien …. he gives, go then drive.. and sometimes shot, or a killer pass. i respect Mikel but he must adjust that, I would like to see lamps, Essien, and mikel in the middle, ballack give the ball away too much, essien and lamps can attack, then mikel can slow it down as he does so well. I think we will need a midfielder or two come summer (wesley Snjider, or VDV) wesley Snjider reminds me of Seedoff. to replace ballack (use ballack as a sub) get Tim Borowski (tall great passer, good header, long range kick). Striker take our pick from: Podolski, Benzema, Gomez, kun aguero.
Please note: If we go for quick strikers with movement, we must get a coach that plays that way (Rijkaard, Guus) names that come to mind.
our back line is still one of the best if not THE BEST in Europe!!
BTID!!
Replying to IwasMissingJose: Wee need to increase our goal ave, this was the only thing i was upset about, because WHEN it comes down to the wire like last season at least we can have a goal ave to match them. i know well we get more goals than them, we have been the best scorng team all season, so when manure drop points.. we will pass them, MARK MY WORKS!!! we will pass them. cause I know manure will drop more points, we have a better fixture, they have a harder one, they play relegation threatened teams, which mean they will fight harder. i fansy boro to run out on them, also gonners, villa will need to win to keep 4th spot dream alive.
Replying to denver:
it would be a sort of record wouldn´t it? 3 teams sharing same points and a winner decided by goal difference. this has been a season of records, and i´m very hopeful that this will happen.
KTBFFH!
Replying to IwasMissingJose: I believe that way we started out the season.. we deserved to win it!! but then we went off on a tangent and all of a sudden we are not favorites any more scolari to blame. but thank Guus-ness we found back ourselves just in time… Im banking on us to REALLY push for the CL !! then the FA and hope manure drops more points, then we will fully back in the challenge !
essien was actually playing in ballack’s position for the ManC game and ballack took over mikel’s position. Mikel is an amazing player, same age as fabregas, playing at the same high level and doing very well for himself yet no one understands that in reality he plays the same position that ballack/lampard/essien play in the true CM role not a DM that is forced to stay back so much cause of attacking fullbacks.
For the injury thing the only major injury we have had was to essien and j.cole. Essien we covered cause we have a crap load of competent midfielders and j.cole we never could, thats why quaresma was bought in. Quaresma is good but he is their more for chasing the goal then keeping the goal since he is tactically a liability in terms of defense.
For actual player transfers
OUT: Get rid of ballack, ferreira, malouda and maybe drogba.
IN: Dzagoev, a competent left winger.
Honestly thats all we need but maybe get another striker just in case.
Replying to ish: we all know Mikel is a cm but look at how essien plays the dm role, more mobile….etc! I personally would love to see him as an AM but the guy cant shot to save his life.
instead of selling out legend drogba ( a big match player!!) why not sell anelka, i dont hate the guy but he ain’t no drog.

Man city should be ashamed of themselves for their performance. Man city is a team we have to dominate and that’s exactly what we did. But would Man u slip so much that we would actually have a shot at the EPL title? I doubt it. I am afraid that the schooling by Liverpool will only fire them up and make them play at a higher level. I hope our team concentrates on performing well and hopefully we can keep on our winning spree. There is still a long way to go before the end of the season and if we don’t win anything all this won’t mean jack.
If essien being back means less pitch time for Mikel, then I have to solute Mikel for being probably one of the best if not the best Chelsea player of the season. But I still think there will be room for Mikel in our rotation. I think coach will continue to play Mikel, but right now the nr one priority is to give Essien as much games as possible
I really feel great that Guus is our manager. To come in under the circumstances, he is doing as good of a job as anyone would ever have done.
Now about the upcoming game, can’t wait for it. Let’s jump on spurs right away because if we don’t they feel they can compete wit us, that will give me/us a scare. Their wing player Lennon is really fast. And they have decent defenders but we should boss the midfield and their goalkeeper, well if we create our usual share of corners he will make at least one blunder=))
Hull city, come on u guys can do it. U already beat arsenal at the Emirates….

I am fed up of this man’s psychic comments. He, Michael Mariens(M.M), has been frequently throwing his irrelevant, crap comments on this blog.
I am also a visitor of the other chelsea blog where he once posted his shit comment. Fans there mocked him out of the blog. Can we do something similar, BC. Can you block him from posting, because I have already freaked out trying to solve his ridiculously unbearable puzzles.
Let us not be carried away by our recent successes. I agree Guus has turned around our season. But there are certain things I still cannot digest.
I still believe that Anelka cannot play on wings. If Anelka has to start then it has to be as a central striker not in any other place. I would better start a loaded Quaresma in the wing rather than a weaponless Anelka. Even the improving Kalou would be a good option.
We played a fantastic 1st half, but I think we sit back defending quite early in the match (from the start of the 2nd half itself). It makes sense to defend from 70 or 80 mins. But this early sitback could fine us, as it almost did in the match against wigan.
Hope Guus finds the solution to these problems.
Waiting for the next match.
KTBFFH!
Very Guud performance indeed!
Next up-Its Uncle Harry and his Lily whites
Lets smash them at their own backyard!
KTBFFH
for christ sake chelsea need to up the ante to secure some silverware this season to place it at the bridge……..first of all we need to get rid of the pathetic and appalling german called ballack……..he has begun to suck and i wont be long before guus realises that…..he also needs to be explained that he better look for better opprtunties this summer or else the club will itself be forced to terminate his contract and show him the exit door….. he does not do any good to this great club…in fact seeing him on the team list just sends out a sign of weakness at our end….i am not prepared to watch him play well for 5 matches, remain injured for 10 games and watch him put in discouraging performances time and time again for the remaining 23 matches…he dosent have the legs anymore…i dunt care where he goes and what he does…he just needs to be thrown out from the club for whatever amount as watching him another season in the premier league will just make my skin crawl…
second in the firing line has to be the fucked up lowsy deco…..nothingelse but a barcelona reject brought to the club by our ex rubbish coach…..both of them have almost fucked up our chances in the league….he cant pass the ball, cannot put in crosses, cant take decent freekicks, canot keep hold of the ball…..
third casualty has to be kalou……has never delivered and even if he stays with the club for the rest of his career he still will not deliver….its written on his forehead that he is a championship player and its a matter of time he will be where he deserves to be…. dunt give a fuck about people in this community saying that he is young and maturing ….u know all of you just FUCK OFF….u cannot be playing at the bridge till the time you want and till the time you finally damage…..does anyone realise how much damage has he already done to the club……..he said he wanted to play for arsenal……my answer to that is…….FUCK off and get out of our club…..
fourth is malouda….do i need to say anything about this certified tried and tested loser…..

sunny, i understand some of what you’re saying although I don’t quite agree with what you say on all the players. Deco still has the finishing touch but has no instinct in the build up, kalou just isn’t suited to our club and the style of play, malouda, well, i’ve given up on him. I’d still hold on to ballack, he is still good and a decent player, will do well for us when we truly need him, the rest of your comments, abit to firey and have a hint of hatred in them, not really good for this site.
Bigwaly makes a good point that we only scored from terrible defending, but then again, we did dominate the match so no-one can say we did not deserve the win
denver, i think mikel will see alot of bench time now unless ballack is tired, i see ballack playing a more withdrawn role so essien can roam like he does
Replying to Sunny:
Sunny, please don’t post here again. Although your points have some merit, the language you’re using is not welcome on Blue Champions. Hate has no place here. BTW, you really should study up on Malouda. He’s a former Ligue 1 Player of the Year (2007), and while it’s a shame he hasn’t worked out to date, he doesn’t deserve the treatment you’ve given him. Neither does a dog. I’d tell you to clean up your language, but the last line of your post indicates a problem that goes beyond mere words.
Replying to Sunny:
No, really, keep the racial slurs to yourself lest blow away your own credibility.
And for notice, I think Kalou is actually one of our better players. Remember, he’s a forward, not a winger, and he’s still pretty good.
Besides, need I remind you he scored the equalizing goal against Man U in the 80th minute? Our point differential would be much farther were it not for his header. Plus, he was the assist for the winning goal against Juventus… so yes, there are definitely worse players on the Chelsea squad.

Well I was anticipating this backlash that I have recieved from members on my posts….well all i can say that those comments might have not been put up in the right manner but I am so fuckin frustated with a few players at this club that I could not prevent myself from speaking my heart out….we are such a great club and in the past we have done mistakes my bringing in the wrong players and we have done a bigger mistake by keeping these players and not getting rid of them when we had the opportunity to do so…..I feel so disgusted and hurt when I see the club not perform to its potential….

sunny, you need to chill out, everybody is annoyed for some reason for another, but you do need to curb the language and the polite thing to do would be to apologise to everyone on this site for your terminology, not just the black users like myself. There is not one person on this site who does not understand what you said. Everyone is entitled to have their say, but should be diplomatic about it, it is one thing to attack players but then turning on fellow bloggers……..
kalou frustrates me, but so does joe cole and at times, so does ashley cole, so does bosingwa, the only person who has given me no reason to complain this season is frank lampard as he goes out and gets the job done
im looking foward to our arsenal clash, it will truly determine how much we have changed under hiddink

People everyone just needs to chill out here, there might be racist fans out there but we don’t need any of them on this blog. A person should not be recognised by the colour of their skin, and if that was the case then dear supporters, Football would not exist!! So next time before anyone makes a racist comment on this blog, just remember our own club consists of people with different backgrounds and colours so either respect that or just keep your opinion to yourself!!
Now as for the die hard fans here that seem to be complaining about the team, well there is only one thing i can say, deal with it mate because nothing it going to change just 2 months before the season ends now is it. Rather then complaining and shouting we should be gettin behind our team and supporting them all the way. What if we were in Spurs or Man City position ?? Would that mean you would get frustrated and start supporting another top class team ?? Well if that is the case then I don’t really think you should be supporting Chelsea in the first place because no matter what people say, our club is all about passion and love for football and no matter what happens no one can take that away from us, period!!
Things will be changed in the summer with Malouda leaving for £10m, Deco for £5m, Ivanovic £10m, Ballack £5m, Drogba / Anelka £15m – Ferreira for £3 and Kalou for £12m That’s £60m from player sales and Roman to provide another £25m which makes a total of £85m to rebuild Chelsea. I personally think we should retain Quaresma, buy Aaron Lennon, Zhirkov, Van Der Vaart, and David Villa. Also players like Mancienne, Stoch, Di Santo and Sinclair should also be given more oppurtunities. This will strenghthen our squad beyond expectations but then again all this sounds good to hear but in reality we are likely to get probably 2/3 of the players listed but none the less come summer transfer window we should have reasons to harbour a smile. Chelsea 4EVA!!

It means i was missing that best ever coach i´ve ever known on that touchline, at both times, when we won, drawn and when we lost, and how i still wish he´d be back here someday! Its no secret, and i´ve told again and again, i started my career as a chelsea fan after i jose came to chelsea. Earlier i didn´t give a damn about football, and now i am addicted to it. Funny thing is Jose left and i still remain a chelsea fan…and therefore my name.

as for the end of the season, i can see deco, malouda, ivanovic and kalou leaving, but it is hard to call on drogba, until we really find the next move we need to keep him as not too many big men are showing the mettle we need
yea, its really funny. It was that press conference when he declared himself a special one, btw it was a coincidence that i was watching sports channel. It caught my attention, then i had friends, one was Arsenal fan, the other was Manure. I had to fit in there. So i took chelsea to maintain my identity. Now, in other to debate with them i needed to watch chelsea games and understand them. i started with learning players names, then formations, all football rules, then our strength, weakness, different types of player positions, and why can´t a defender be a striker stuffs. It took me few months to understand the basics. Then as i started to understand basics, i started learn a bit about tactics, the way substitutions work, whom, when and why stuffs. Mostly it came from discussions with my friends. There was nothing special in those things. What mystified me was Chelsea wouldn´t lose the game., no matter what sort of day they had. Even on the day when they seemed to lose, they´d end up drawing. I considered Arsenal had the best team then, but there was something about chelsea that would make it almost invincibles. And that factor was Jose Mourinho. I´ve never missed the game since his arrival. Mostly due to curosity and wierd formations he introduced, or sometimes that tactical substitutions that did wonders. Like i said i never missed the chelsea game, and well in 3 years time Chelsea became my best friend, and its soul was JM. I knew so much of it, every detail, everything it was going through; at times it gave me so much joy when it won, at times i was hurt so bad (like that disallowed goal from Liverpool). Chelsea´s rivals became my enemy and i loathed them, and chelsea fans my friends. Chelsea became my best friend, and i can´t leave my friend when its going through this hard time. Its too precious for me, too near and at times too faithful (well guarentees my bets! haha).
It seems like the Chelsea family is a normal, dysfuntional family starting from RA on the top to the lowliest of racist so-called suppoters.
Thank my marbles that there are some voices of reason and civility like BC and others on this blog !
All of your post makes me like a real old fart sitting on my rocking chair with my blue CFC jersey on my front lawn waiting for the next Chelsea game!!! And I’m only 31 this year! When I started turning BLUE, it was the end of Glenn Hoddle’s era and a debut for Ruud Gullit’s managerial career. Than there was the famous Ken Bates (which I’m very grateful for his contributions) and at that time, it was the famous 3 italianos who light up the Stamford Bridge (as most could have guess, Zola, DiMatteo and Vialli) and before I knew it, I was hooked for life. But that does not mean I’m more BLUE than any of you. Especially BC, which I voted as one of the MOST BLUE person I’ve ever met.
Replying to Sunny: – Chill out man, you’ve got to go and play FM or the old CM games to understand that sometimes players are not meant for certain clubs or managers and sometimes they go missing for a season or two but that does not always means that it the players fault. Some players work wonders and some others don’t. As much as I admire your BLUE passion but that heated HATE of yours is quite a worry, so chill out man…. KTBFFH!!!!
Am I the only person who does not see the word “nigger” in any of his posts? This seems ridiculous to me – did anybody changed his post? Why? :)
if drogba can play like he has been 4 rest of season then drogba should stay at chelsea till he retires
Replying to vovka:
Oh so am not the only one who couldn’t find that either, I thought maybe he did say in another post.
I think all have been said about “it”. BUT I ask ma self would anyone be Chelsea fan if they are racist? I doubt it.
Nways
Big day tomorrow, the champions league draw, dream scenario would be if all English teams could draw the other four teams.
Man u vs. Munich
Liverpool vs. Barca
Chelsea vs. Villa real
Arsenal vs. Porto
And we get an all English semifinal, wit Chelsea – Arsenal and Man u – Liverpool. Whom ever we meet in the final will be sweet victory=) this what I hope for, but
My head tells me we will get a tough one. I hope 2 avoid three teams in the quarterfinals, Man u, Liverpool and barca. Eventually we´ll have to play the top guns to win it all. And it can be an advantage to play twice, where u can correct a mistake rather then a slippage in the final can be very devastating.
I think we got bigger chance in the CL then in the league and I think the players fancy that. Plus the hunger /desire of being CL-Champ are bigger, especially after what happened last year will.
The game on Saturday will be really interesting. I expect a tight game, and as long as we score early will be ok. Let’s extend our winnings streak!
/k
i want chelsea to play bayern now barca in semis and english team in finals

Replying to Jaz: I’m thinkin about thinkin.
Went to the cricket match today (newlands) the highlights is i would say just about 2000% misleading – SA players put pressure on AUS – there were some weird things going on during the break – two men walking around with a sign saying Ponting is a tosser with a picture and much more – but there was a delightful couple from the UK. cheers
Replying to Jaz: i think now is the perfect time to discuss about transfers- target players before our competitors – Also Mitchell Johnson through his wicket away though – but he was playing brilliantly! cheers
TO M.M – W.T.F MATE ????????????????????
LOLLLLLL
Replying to Jaz: RA (investors) were looking for a buyer in January for the club – sell the club to Jose Mourinho he has history with the club – £24.95 (20m). cheers
u r retarded.
jaz, i think we would sell pizarro for abit more than that because he is worth something ti werder bremen
ballack and deco would fetch a little bit more i think
im cetain that anelka is going nowhere
if you can be certain of anyhting, it is deco, malouda, mineiro, ivanovic and pizarro

might see kalou leave, wenger may chase him again after all
if we are bringing anyone, quaresma, im not too sure but it is a possibility, id say 18mil, zhirkov, definitely
i doubt you’d ever see those other players at the bridge

Replying to TruePlatinum: quaresma – Jacob Zuma and ANC – i would luv to see them in parliament in England – Australia – Canada – or even New Zealand. SA criceket players play for public – professionals.
Replying to TruePlatinum: bring Van Persie to posh London instead of poultry 80k a week. Paris Hilton is sexy. cheers
@ k.drogba
u moron……your valuation of some chelsea players seems like ridiculously shit…
Malouda – £10M…….(ok fair enough…. we shall get this figure for him)
Ballack – £5M……(his contract expires this year so he can just walk away on free transfer….why would anyone pay any amount for him)
Deco – £5M….(you must be insane if you think sumone is gonna pay 5m for this rubbish player)
Ivanovic – £10M….(we shall get a decent amount for him)
Ferreira – £3M….(dosent matter…lol)
Belletti – £5M…..(not possible)
Kalou – £15M…..(the most crappiest valuation I have heard in recent times……15m for a fucked up player like kalou…..u must be crazy)
Anelka – £17M…..(he is decent but not worth more than 8 or 10 m…..nothing more than that)
Scheva – £8M….(hehehehe……u wont get more than 2m for this bloke……he is completely finished)
Pizzaro – £7M…..( hehe….7 m for pizzaro…if we can broker it it would be a blockbuster deal…..but rather than expecting anything you are just being hopeful…..but dunt worry u will be dissappointed when you face the reality)
we have to use pizzaro in a trade deal for diego
@ 75 Sunny: Don’t have a go at KDrogba because that was my post to begin with, secondly dude u need some attidude management because according to you everyone besides you needs a reality check and is a moron. Well first of all you keep making a ass of yourself on this blog with your “I-Know-It-All” comments and secondly if you want to post here then be sensible, don’t act like a hard man just because your some skinny little nerd sitting behind that computer screen, trying to run away from the daily tortures of getting bullied and the only way you can get some redemption for your sad little excuse of a pathetic life is by making yourself feel good by ridiculing other people here. Do us a favour and piss off you dipshit!!!

Its good, but I doubt Sheva would fetch 8 million.
It seems Chelsea and liverpool always make a couple, now since how many years? 5?
Even when i hear the fixture, i feel tiredness creeping into my soul. I think they deliberately did that to make way bit easier for Manures and Barcelona. Whereas Chelsea, Loverpool and Arsenal always get difficult fixtures.
Anyway lets not complain about it. Lets take our revenge on Liverpool for defeat in the Premier League games, and of course we may pass through Barcelona as well as there is no more Ronaldo there (i hope Henry wouldn´t be our next curse), and finally lets pass through Manures to lift the CL trophy this time.
(i meant Ronaldinho)
@kuhulai – is the second leg at bridge ???
2nd leg is at Stamford Bridge. We would also have the 2nd leg at home in the semi-final as well.
Lol…Liverpool yet again in the Champions League. Its not a surprise really, happy though that the second leg is at The Bridge, only worried that Chelsea Legend John Arne Riise is not there, now who’ll score for us at Anfield ? LOL
Well im sure we’ll figure something out . KTBFFH!
no worry. chelsea will bring home the trophie who ever we are playing. even better this way now we really will deserv it.
CHELSEA 4 LIFE, fvckin gerrards wife! haha :P
Replying to Lampard and the Blues.:
true that true that, well now we have to do allt he hard work outselfs. Anelka …u out there somewere? We need you to score at anfield!!!
Man u got a hightway to the final!
We will get both secondlegs at home.
I know we have had bad agains liverpool this season but now we got Guus, am sure he will find away to nuke them!
We can be a little less worried because we have Guss. Its a good thing we don’t have LFS.
The return of Essien is definitely a postive sign
I am very disappointed with the draw. But the fact is we do have to go through Liverpool first and then mostly Barcelona.
Its ok now.Its over.As they say “To be the best, you got to beat the best”.It would be amazing if we even reach the final but it looks very difficult. It looks much more difficult than last year. This period is the most important of our season. We cannot afford any slipups anywhere. We desperately need cleansheets in all matches.Whichever ‘big’ team we face or might face are all on a high.Do not know what will be the outcome but I hope we do atleast reach the final. It certainly hurts a lot.We need God’s help.he needs to give us luck at the most important time in our matches.
I want 1 trophy this season, doesnt matter whichever it is.Cant take a trophyless season for the 2nd time in a row.
KTBFFH!!!!
We got the most difficult tie,LIVERPOOL AND NEXT BARCA. Chelsea need to be at their best to beat them and it seems there is no luck with us this year, despit last season.
Replying to Spyder: half a billon pounds!! cheers
Who says we get all of the easy picks?? Our path to winning it all will have us go through the 3 toughest teams. Liverpool, then Barca then ManU (who look as though they will be walking into the final on the ties they have lined up).
Liverpool was the worst tie we could have gotten IMO because we have played them in the knockout stages for the last friggen 5 years in a row.
5 Years! come on man.. give us a break and let’s play someone else. *sigh*
O well – the good news is the 2nd leg is ours and if we do win it all then there is no one that can’t say we wouldn’t be the best team in Europe because we will have to had beaten all the best teams to lift the trophy.
We should not get disheartened; facing the best teams in the world and beating them is what we are here for. If we don’t beat Pool then we do not deserve to be champs anyway. Lets show Pool the real Chelsea.
Replying to Nick:
Well said Nick. If we really want to earn the respect of the entire world, we need to beat the best teams en route to winning it all. If we beat Liverpool, Barcelona, and Man Utd then surely there will be no doubt we are the best club in the world. We certainly have a talented enough squad, and a fearless tactician for a manager. When Chelsea are on point they can beat any team in the world, lets go show the world who we are.
