My internet now is like Scolari of December and January. Unreliable and frustratingly poor. Completely falling below expectations. I don’t know from when and where the Guus Hiddink of my internet connections will come!
Once again, I’m posting something from my mobile so that you get some dedicated space to talk about this match. My prediction is 3-1.
Help yourselves!

@3 chelsea no 1
Dont u know who all are our players u a-hole??
for god’s sake its di santo not dos santos…and sinclair is at brmngham on loan
I may sound stupid but…….. Drogba for hat-trick…. Lampard will score one and mikel will score his first ever Premier league goal…. 5-0 chelsea
KTBFFH!
Chelsea go out play hard and win this match, and then they will have the entire week off until Saturday. They can train hard and get some well-deserved days off before the visit to White Hart. After having 3 games a week for a short while it’s good to have a week between the two matches.
cech
bosingwa carvalho terry a.cole
mikel
lampard essien ballack
anelka drogba
im tipping us for a 4-1 or 3-0 win today with drogba scoring twice
in every sport, there are loud players, gilbert arenas of the nba, terrelle owens oof the nfl, but very few actually back up what they say with their play
benetiz criticised drogba last season, he replied by knocking them out of the champions league, now richard dunne has been stupid enough to do the same thing
city have a poor away record and i believe they have quite a few injuries so roll on the goals!
If Quaresma will play i bet he will score 1 goal….also essien must play from begining becouse he should train his self to play 90 min. after a long time that didn’t play full 90 min.
Chelsea – Man.City 4-1
The starting line up
Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Ballack, Essien, Lampard, Deco , Anelka, Drogba.
Subs: Hilario, Mikel, Malouda, Quaresma, Kalou, Alex, Belletti.
another 1-0, another clean sheet, city were no class though. i´m happy with the win, but we should have score more….but that of course we will in coming matches!!
So is it the manager or the players?
Another lucky win. If it was not CFC playing I would not continue watching this game to the end.
Bad and boring display of footbal.I am yet to see the effect of the the new manager.
You used to say that AG was a lucky guy. The way things are going now,Guus is even luckier.
A win is a win is win but this is not football .
Sorry ,nothing have changed. That makes my point about the quality of the player even stronger : No talent ,no skill no game to watch and enjoy.
Man city was at the best form in the last weeks,it is a great result for us.
Jo_BlueM , what do you expect from chelsea, beat city with 5 goals because LIVERPOOL scored 4 at old trafford???
Replying to Jo_BlueM:
yea it was a bit boring to watch, because Man city were no match to us, they defended well and made couple of good saves, but they could actually never attack. I think they had 0 real shots on target. That made game look real one-sided, and boring. In other words Hiddinks tactics were better than a mile than that of Hughes and this was a well deserved win, just unlucky not to have scored some 5 goals.
What a bunch of whiners…its always either a bad manager or bad players or bad something. The fact is most of you want instant success and all the other stuff as well at the same time.NEWSFLASH: It doesnt happen that way.Its consistency and stability that wins trophies and thats why players are pressing for Hiddink to stay.
The game was ok and the job has been done.
I very much like to see the team building of its consistency. It wasnt that much beautiful but it was a joy to see things are working as they should, cover while attacking and pressing while defending.
Boswingwa made some very nice crosses which deserved better finishing and was also consistent defending something we were not used to see.And what a beatifull goal by Essien. He fully deserved it after so many time away. All in all the team looked much more consistent and mooving trough the field as a whole…
3 points closer to MU.Nice job done.
Aww man….looks like Deco’s out for the rest of the season.
Its J Cole, Ferreira and Deco on the bench now…hopefully no one else to follow
spurs are improving so next weeks london derby is crucial hopefully drogba will be fit 4 that match
Replying to TruePlatinum: the other day i saw man city and it was raining and heres a link to your comment
I was nine or 10 years old and my father was sacked on Christmas Day. He was a manager, the results had not been good, he lost a game on December 22 or 23. On Christmas Day, the telephone rang and he was sacked in the middle of our lunch. Mr. Mourinho cheers
I dont understand what the so called fans want ???
chelsea was fantastic today, their passing and movements wer brilliant, i have seen many having a go at ballack recently, but he was outstanding today allowing lampard and essien to surge forward and attack, its jus a shame we didnt score more goals, with citys defenders doing a great job.
stop complaining and appreciate the team wer its due.
m.m, im lost, thats not really a reply is it?
good enough mancity did not come to the brigde to fight. we should have killed off the game. it was almost like a scolariesque game today. there was no pressure on the ball with the opponent and i find that appalling. only essien put some pressure on the opponent and i believe his return will be crucial to us. ballack is still not effective in a chelsea shirt
a win is a win however we need to keep the tempo of the game high till a time we have killed off the game.
got a sign of relief after the game and thanks to mancity for not fighting.
Replying to Jo_BlueM:
Another lucky win ? Bad display of football? did u actually see the match, Jo_BlueM, I know we won 1 -0, but we had some wonderful chances, we just didnt capitalize them. Some of our attacks were really good, essien was fantastic, the defence was solid, i dont think man city had any shot on goal..
This is not football, there is no talent? I really dont think u know ur football too well my friend, dont be so pessimistic

Hi Guys, its been ages. The spirit seems to be back. Essien the talisman is back to cement it. Long may the good run continue
It was a cracking match ! Man Citeh played hard rough and dignified. Chelsea matched their brawn.Smashing tackles and all fighting for all the 50% and less bals.l
Chelsea played differently in different periods of the game and was flowing football quite to a degree, box to box stuff.
Was a solid performance !
And if some dont see it or want us to be an imitation of ManUre, that’s a pity

Mourinho to splash €100m on Mikel

If feelers from Italy are anything to go by, Nigerian midfielder, John Mikel Obi, may leave Stamford Bridge for San Siro, as Inter Milan have given embattled manager Jose Mourinho a whopping 100 million euro to secure the signature of the Super Eagles playmaker and four other Premiership players when the summer transfer window opens.
A report in the Italian media suggests that Mourinho would be handed a giant transfer kitty in the summer in order to set Inter up for a Champions League charge next season, after the club failed in their bid for the European glory this season.
The report further disclosed that the former Chelsea manager has already penciled down Mikel, Didier Drogba, Manchester United stopper, Nemanja Vidic, Arsenal’s Abou Diaby and Tottenham’s Jermaine Jenas.
The Nerazzurri crashed out of the Champions League last week, leaving a number of unanswered questions at Appiano Gentile. Tuttosport claims Mourinho will attempt to revolutionise the club – like he did at Chelsea – with a €100m transfer kitty from president Massimo Moratti.
Although the Special One said that he wants to continue working at Inter, he made it clear that he wants to do it his way by bringing in several Premier League-based stars in order to prepare his side for next season’s Champions League run.
“Manchester United stopper Nemanja Vidic, Arsenal’s Abou Diaby, Tottenham’s Jermaine Jenas and Chelsea duo John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba are all on Mourinho’s transfer list,” the report noted.
In order to get his hands on the pack of Premier League aces, it is reported that the Portuguese will need at least €100m at his disposal. Although it seems like a great deal of money, the club are planning to offload some deadwood in order to lessen the financial burden on Moratti’s shoulders.
David Suazo, Ricardo Quaresma, Amantino Mancini, Marco Materazzi, Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo, Hernan Crespo and Julio Cruz could all face the exit door.
Meanwhile, Mikel’s hope of joining San Siro giants, AC Milan this summer may have been dashed by the player’s agent, John Shittu who is insisting his ward is not leaving the English Premier League for the Italian Calcio.
Fresh from securing an extension of 33-year-old David Beckham’s loan deal, the seven times European champions are hoping to close in on the Blues holding midfielder.
AC Milan are desperate to inject young blood into a team of ageing legends and are bent on exploiting Chelsea’s reluctance to discuss Mikel’s contract extension talk.
To this end, the Rossonerri are ready to offer The Catalyst a 4 Million Euros a year salary in a bid to prize him away from Stamford Bridge in July when the summer transfer window opens but Shittu who was a major the key actor in Mikel’s controversial three way transfer tussle between Lyn Oslo, Manchester United and Chelsea say the player is going no where.
‘’Mikel is going nowhere for now. He has a contract and is committed to Chelsea and the club are offering him a new deal at the end of the season,” he said.
Meanwhile, Reports from Milan indicate that the team are encouraged by Chelsea’s dilly-dallying attitude on the former Lyn Oslo of Norway star and the team have made inquiries about the player and are willing to splash as much as four million euros a year on him for his salary.
I don’t think many of you understand the game .
If you call it a fllowing football ,cracking match smashing tackles and all fighting ,box to box stuff-solid performance ‘passing and movement was fantastic, than either you didn’t see the game or we have different standards.
Drogba awasom ? The guy hardly had 1 good pass ,and that one (with the back hill)should have been a goal(to balak)-he can’t posses the ball.
The diferent from the losing team of Scolary to the winning team of Guus is the return of Essien – the only one who worked hard througout the match and deserved the lucky goal.
Lucky goal- yes- the ball hit Essien (rather than Essien hit the ball)underneath the knee which gave it the perfect angel and range ,otherwise it would have been going over the post . Hitting the ball properly with the foot would have send it higher and farther.
On a day when Muncity didn’t play and were not even trying to play ,CFC should have scored 3-4 .They were not even close to scoring more then one(balack).
Be happy guys we are winning .But if that alone gives you pleasure than so be it.
Surely though that level of performanc will not take us far.
My point is that CFC hasn’t changed in game quality ,ability and spirit from the days of Scolary – and the reason is simple: these players can’t do better or change their basic character of play(which Scolary beleived he could have changed).
@ 32 ref ; My point is that CFC hasn’t changed in game quality ,ability and spirit from the days of Scolary : these players can’t do better or change their basic character of play(which Scolary beleived he could have changed).
RU SURE WE ARE TALKING ABT CFC ?
Jo-BlueM @
to refute your points
1. Mancity didn’t play ? How do you know ? Couldnt it have been they couldn’t play cos of Chelsea’s tactics. What u say is like they didn’t feel like playing so Chelsea had it
easy. LOL . Then why was it so hard score another goal ? Did the richest team on earth come just to lay down while Chelsea raped them ?
2. Lucky goal ? Oh u mean play in intricate triangles like Aresy and score oh so beautifully Oh so neatly , perfect timing and hugs all around ?
Well FYI it wasn’t luck but Lamp’s foresight that brought about the goal by putting the ball in the right place for Essien to touch it ( however unartistically ) with any
part of his foot and score ! That’s why it’s called “football”
3. The only difference is Essien ? Well he’s been back for only 2-3 games and Chelsea have won at least 7 since Big Phil left , so something else must be at work , don’t u
think dear ?
4. Winning alone makes us feel happy ? Hey man where were u abt 6 weeks back ? We were feeling sick even before the kick-offs man and mumbling incoherently and
swallowing saliva all thru games.
4. You say the players can’t do better ! better than what ? They are pros and some of the most talented footballers n the planet and u say they can’t do better ? Well let’s
say they are not better players like u say BUT they are better as a TEAM now if they are not better as individual players and one of the MAIN reasons ig Phil was
shown the door was that they weren’t playing as a team and the as a team have won lots of games after his DISMISSAL.
5. Many of us don’t understand the game. Pray tell me what u understand ! Where your source of wisdom sprouts eternal and how we failed to to see a solid back line and
how Chelsea’s midfield overran City’s again and again with ease and the only difference was more goals.
6. The basic change is the WINS btw. they may be beyootiful, execellent, fair ,piss-poor but wins nevertheless. What u wanna chelsea be like Aresy ? beyootifool losses
and draws ? But then again we felt proud even if we lost some games cos they were hard fought ones against Barca etc so don’t go saying we support CFc only when
we’re winning.
I watched the game at a baron telly with a lot of blue buddies and we all sincerely felt confident Chelsea would score , Cos we could SEE that the team was going for it.
And most of the SB audience looked pretty confident and happey too throughout the game too. Don’t you think there must be something that all these people felt that
was right ?
Just a point to note which shouldnt go unnoticed – chelsea are par with manure in terms of Goal Difference”
im not sure we watched the same game jo_blueM chelsea were great, the midfield completely dominated city so much that anything city got through was generally just mopped up by the defense. The shots they had something like 2-3 on target were fodder for cech. Meanwhile chelsea had something like 15 shots on target with about half being very good scoring chances. Drogba did so much in the box that it opened up the play in the final third. He probably should have scored from the tee up by bosingwa and ballack should have scored from drogba’s. Anelka was bought down in an obvious penalty. Belletti hit the post. the 1-0 very much flatters manCity who never really looked up for the game, there passing was poor and they never had an answer for ballack/lampard/essien trident. Their best chances game from the wings and robinho didnt do shit down his cause bosingwa could handle robinho and SWP just lacked the final ball at every pass.
Some of the passing of chelsea was also quite amazing, very fluid and quite fast. Something i think we have been waiting for but never really came off in scolari’s time. I doubt we can play as well against a stronger team, hughes really stuffed up the tactics by having such an attacking formation with very light weight midfielders.
Replying to Jo_BlueM:
haha, now you make me laugh. Were you watching the same game mate? Man city played 5 men defence, which was soon 8 in and near D area for atleat 60 minutes of the entire match. But we still managed to have more than clear cut 10 shots on target. their attack was completely paralized by our defence, now if you call thats not a good football, then no one can convince you. You seem lost.
Chelsea has his own style and identity. We are team players. Manures play different style of football coz they have different set of players and they wouldn´t have come this far without Ronaldo. Arsenal play very fast building football and thats the reason they end up with lots of injuries every season. On the other hand when they score 5 they concede the same.
But like i said, that match became a bit boring because we completely overpowered them, like cat playing mouse. there are other interesting matches coming that will for sure bring a hell lot of excitement as well. try to enjoy…
Replying to Jo_BlueM:
no talent no skill? u must be meaning Man City, having said that. I just saw the second half and it was really boring and the tempo was so slow I wondered if i twas in slowmotion. Chelsea satt back one one gear and wanted to get the game over wit and man city was one of the worst display I seen soo far this year.
But after a touch week I guess everyone only cared of the results. and in the end thats what counts. Spurs looking good for the moment and they deserved their 2-1 win agains villa. lets bring our A-game next saturday cause other then the win there wasnt much to be joyful yesterday.
Essien is amazing!!!
Replying to JoseHoliday:
even if I tried I couldnt have said it better=)
I HATED IT (seriously i was furious) when belletti came on for deco when we had a young and NATURAL right winger on the bench – quaresma. I hate it when we buy a player and then bench him. HE IS amazing and he doesnt even get a second of the game.
Apart from that, Gd game, we attacked with style and pace at times !!!
I ll agree with any1 dat conclude “d match was boring”,reason?man city did nt show an iota of treat.hw about d coach, hmm can any1 pls deafen d ear of mr hindink dat mikel is d right man for d defensive midfield(it`s unanimous he plays wit caution, maturity & skill nw than then),wot about d goaaal, though it was 1 bt vry clinical.Long live CHELSEA.hey i almost 4got ve a riddle 4u there is dis man dat walk around d field wit swagger vry reckless and he battlg wit a phobia called EGOMANIA he wears jersey num th******n
I ll agree wit any1 dat conclude “d match was boring”man city seem 2 lack maturity and dey did nt disturb chelsea an iota.though d goal was 1 bt d win was impregnable.pls BC guyz do me a big favor by votg d best defensive midfielder in chelsea at d moment
