Great win after a long long time. Great win because of many reasons. (a) we created so many chances (b) we made some crucial changes to the usual line-up (c) Drogba and Anelka played together and so very well (d) Mancienne played all 90 minutes and played superbly (e) Stoch played for more than 3 mins (f) we reacted to a goal conceded (g) we changed our tactics and it worked (h) Drogba’s work rate was much much better.
Good start after Scolari’s removal.

what was all this talk by scolari that he cannot play both drogba and anelka?? loved the freshness. we need to go some distance but we have made a start
Anelka got better when Stoch was on the pitch! Stoch coverd the right flank so Anelka could focus more on just the central area and just being a striker! But i don’t think we can make to much of this game agains Watford.Nice to see Abramovic and Hiddink side by side, is this a true love story for the Blues? Time will tell…

@BC
I agree with all your points except one, and that’s, (d) Mancienne played all 90 minutes and played superbly……
He played all the 90 minutes and I am really happy to see youngsters start the game. Manciennne was alright in the first half (if any of you have noted – as soon as he got the ball he mostly back passed it to Cech !!!! )or rather upto 60 minutes, he played with much ease only after stoch was introduced. I would say that Mancienne was good but not superb and if he’s given more chances he will definitely improve and he’s a rising star. Also, if I am not mistaken, his primary position is the CB and RB is his secondary position.
I would also like to add that Stoch was amazing and definitely needs to be given more chances, as we saw some glimpses of his dribbling abilities combined with his blistering pace. He created problems to the opposition on the right flank.
@2
when stoch was introduced we changed our formation to 4-4-2
that ws the difference
yeah there’s definitely hope for stock, he got pushed off the ball like a kid playing with adults a couple of times, but he really surprised me with his first bit of possession where he looked like a proper attacking winger going at the full back. Shame quaresma didn’t get to give us the same on the other wing, maybe it’s for the best though since we’re rebuilding, we don’t want to make him a key part of our team now when we’re not sure he’ll stay (or just that he won’t if he plays well), he’s really only there for when we have injuries or someone’s playing badly i guess.
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/177435/JOSE-MOURINHO-TAUNTS-BLUES.html
Im glad that wilkins was brave enough to let the young palyers played and changed the system to 4-4-2.. The attack varies with short passes and long balls (we only saw short passes during scolari time).. If given more oppurtunity and time, i think anelka and drogba can really work together.. When i saw drogba dive beautifully in the first half, i knew he had build up his confidence and he is definetely back! yeah.. i hope essien recover soon and he partner lampard in the middle because Ballack is getting slower.. All da best blues!! P/s i just realized that mancienne looks like kalou with long hair.. ahahaha..
This should be the beginning of the REST OF THE SEASON for Chelsea. With this kind of spirit i believe we can catch United in the title race and clinch the title.

Spot on, before Stoch it was still very much the same. Goes to prove that 4-4-2 is the way for CFC.

Actually, i never missed bosingwa not being there….and please…give players like ballack a break…. he’s had so many darn operations on his feet and ankle…he is a world class player….it is also really easy to criticize players…you would know the difficulty when u are in that position yourself….
Anyway….Chelsea played really well…during the first half i thought that their game would end up the same ways as before…. but they showed character…anelka had his wonderful hattrick..!
I loved it when mancienne played and stoch too….i guess its a change for the better now…
I’m excited about this result, can’t wait until we play Aston Villa I think we’re really gonna show our true colors to everyone leading up to our home leg vs. Juventus.

BC and Bluechampions
The first pic cannot come out on my browser, but I’m going to check it out at a friends place, the second pic is so funny BC. lol and also did you hear what the commentator said when Petr made that save, he does it time and time again, reminds of that first leg semi-final (UCL) match agaisnt Liverpool.
Michael Mancinne: The man can play football and I think he played it cool (safe).
Miroslav Stoch: He has every trick in the book, and some not included, but I wish he owned the field.
Branislav Ivanovic: Huge reputation and I would like to see more of him?
This match kind of reminded me of the match against Cluj in Romania a bit. Anyway, Petr Cech is so professional he has to keep goal against Liverpool and he stood in this division match. As for the remainder of the team.
Did Ray Wilkins or Guss Hiddink pic the team? Imagine if Chelsea played a completely second team and then Guus picks the stars for Villa’s clash. Now he has an upfront personal view of the players [tactics] and formation etc. Anyway…

jose wants to return:D if he does i will wash all off his shoes for as long as he stays
Dear oh dear, what a huge difference Cechs save made. It could easily have ended 2-2, instead I have had a great weekend so far=)
Michael M was superb. Being his first game and the fact that none of JT or Ricky was in the back wit him he really played well. What I liked the most was that fact that he tried to do something constructive wit the ball almost every time. Of course he didn’t have a perfect game but hey its his first game and he still a just a lil kiddow.
Solomon Kalou was good. When he plays in the wing he shouldn’t try to much to get into the middle like that but I guess he´s natural position is as a striker.
Nic did what he gets paid to do; DD will come OK as long as he keeps playing.
I know it wasn’t a big team we beat but every win is a confident booster right now. And its nice to start wit a win having a new manager and all. Why didn’t Q play? I think though Ray did well wit his subs, even thought I thought he should have subbed earlier then he actually did. RA cheering from the stands by itself was worth watching the game lol
Who ever play in the midfield we should oppose much more dominance then we have done so far. Shorty aka Stoch was like a fresh air when he was introduced to the game. And immediately he made his presents felt I really liked that. This makes me dislike LFS even more for not using our resources to the fullest!!!
Of topic, Milan to own inter today…
Jose says in press conference he will rejoin Chelsea. This makes me feel good knowing that next season, the special one could possibly be back with us, provided things don’t work out with Inter. About our performance today, we actually looked fresh moving forward. Not much else to say other than i’m happy that Guus is with us. He did wonders for Australia taking us to a world cup 3 years back.

regarding your earlier comments:
a simple question:
what would you tell an intelligent person who was failing miserably recently and finally shows some signs of improvement?
a) wonderful, you are doing good, carry on and you´ll succeed.
b) you are disgrace, because what you recently succeeded was not up to your standards, i have no hope for you. And you only mention his weakness, this and that.
as far as i know, you choose option b). the lads need hope right now and any win is important to lift up thier moral. thats my point.
JM TO CHELSEA IN SUMMER?Could you believe the effect of this report on chelsea squad specially like of drogba/terry…..
for a second i thought it be one of those games.at least the players can be deservedly showered with praise. Great Game. Its funny how the players get critisised so harshly when its a draw.with hull the first half was one of the most beautiful and enterprising with no end product.if we had scored just 1 goal it would have made the world of difference.no unfair comments directed to anyone like manures scruffy 1-0 wins.no complains about players regardless of performances just points won.people say drog doesnt play like he wants it bla bla.give him the chance and he shows it eg.yesterday.people talk about his body language(without the ball) that he’s not interested what do you expect he doesnt have the ball,he’s a striker no need to pace up and about.like berbatongue give him the ball and he comes alive.its sad he never scored because he deserves the praise.he was involved in every chance created.he tried regardless of what anyone says.typically amongst the british audience and neutrals they hate him(and ash).why.he was booed by watford fans.we have no history with them to warrant the jeers for drog and ash.4-4-2 is the way to go.dont know why scolari was so igonorant.that wouldve worked with his passing football.4-3-3 is for efficiency and wimbledon style which we didnt show under scolari because of his laboured approach.nowadays Every team is now using two up front, the only way to go.1 striker is only used in other leagues where its slower paced we need to evolve with the modern game.Positive signs.upward and onwards boys!
maybe thats why he allowed Quaresma to come…. he always wanted him at chelsea. lets hope he comes back… come on roman get him back for us!!
Dont say they are not special for me they are the most special players in world football-jose about SCOLARI s comments

Chelsea showed real class in this match, even though critics would say it was against a lower league team but fact of the matter is that on their day even a division 3 team can go on to beat the best team in the world. That’s the beauty of football where anything is possible and always expect the unexpected. Coming back to the game, great composure and class displayed by the blues, cool and calm finishing from Anelka, scoring his 20th of the season is all positive news. Anelka and Drogba partnership showed signs of something special, given enough time im sure it can develop into a force to be reckoned with. The power of Drogba and the vision of Anelka can prove more than a handfull even for the most skilled teams in the world. Young Micheal playing full 90 minutes is another postive, the only bad outcome is the 5th yellow card for Ashley Cole meaning he will miss the Aston Villa game. Stoch again showed good qualities on the pitch and given enough time he can become a really good asset for the team. I think it was a smart not to play Quaresma because against a team like Villa you need to keep your wingers fresh and hungry and im sure he will play his part in the Villa match. A really good news we all hace come across is JM sayin he would like to return to Chelsea one day, this shows he never wanted to leave, deep down inside he loves Chelsea because he knows how much the supporters and the players respect and love him. It would be great to see the Special One retun to the bridge rather sooner than later.

we have players that will provide the talent we crave at holes, but they are struggling to get the chances to come through, we need wingers there is tejera, stoch and sinclair, we need defenders, there is bertrand, mancienne, cork, we need strikers, we have kakuta, di santo
we have a team that will sustain itself for time to come

chelsea has all the resources needed to produce talent and i know which pieces of the jigsaw is missing
there are players availabe, take stoch for example his a gem in the rough, but he has not recieved the right coaching
then their are players who are dying to play for chelsea, did you see quaresma’s cross in euro 2008 where he crossed his legs for the camera against switzerland
franco di santo also looks good

Kakuta will be sidelined for almost a year due to broken leg.. sigh
To be honest I am now feeling MUCH MUCH better, less grumpy, cruising the football sites again, have a spring in my step and on better terms with my girlfriend, talking to neighbours again.
Funny how one can be affected when Chelsea is in dissarray.
‘It seems to be different for Chelsea than other clubs. Chelsea have not won (a trophy) for one and a half years, Arsenal have not won the title for five years,’ he said.
‘It looks like everything is good at Arsenal, but at Chelsea everything is in bits. Maybe Chelsea has a different, winning character.
‘Some managers have a big excuse when they go to a big club. They say ‘I need a lot of time to do it’. If you say this, you get protection.”
I feel that it was not just the “NOT WINNING ” anything part that led to Scolari’s sacking but the fact that the team and its play was affected to the point that we couldn’t match the bigger clubs anymore and on a slippery slide that was demoralising and plain humiliating for he palyers and team.
It was like Chelsea didn’t even have a realistic chance to win anything given the expectations, capital invested, layer quality and former not long ago… glories.
If we were…… to say…… Newcastle then we wouldnt have sacked Scolari so fast…… but then again… u never know…. Newcastle might have sacked him if the whole was going to shmables and relegation threatened too.
And keeping a manager on just for form’s sake ,U know : ” We keep him on cos its tradition, its the right thing to do ” kinda thing is so OLD FASHIONED
Yes SAF’s start at ManUre was given a few years cos he wasn’t actually on a slide but clearing out old buggers who wouldn’t win anything and building a winning team and mentality.
While with Scolari, he was given a proven team albeit a bit aging one, had unused youngsters in the wings, using a losing see-thru strategy and so on so forth…
So getting rid of him quickly was justified in my eyes So take that .. Kaka !
The following are the directives for Guus Hiddink from Your Faithfully JoseHoldiay
1. Stop us from losing and being humiliated
2. Get the team training hard and happily
3. Rotate a bit
4. Start youngsters in the lesser games like against Watford.
5. Tell the players to go at em when the chips are down
6. Finsh at least 3rd in the EPL, semis in the CL and smash ManUre in the FA.
7. Take chances, use long ball everything to win or at least draw or lose with honor
8.Use your reknowned luck to get us thru games
Now all that shouldn’t be that difficult at 750,000 bucks a month in a recession
the only players who have shown they ready for a first team start even in the low levels are stoch, di santo and mancienne. Thats why they are starting, maybe when kakuta comes back from injury and improves his game he will be able to break through. The person with the highest chance to break through is probably the left is ryan bertrand since chelsea is lacking a Left back to cole. Jack Cork also might get a call since he is flourishing in the lower levels at such a young age. Kakuta though is still the jewel in chelsea’s crown as he is such an amazing footballer to watch.
my starting team from now on:
——————————-cech———————————-
bosingwa————-carvalho——terry———————cole
———————–mikel—————————————
———————————-lampard————————–
———quaresma—————————-kalou——————-
———————drogba————–anelka————————
a manager has to have the balls to bench a world class midfield for the sake of winning. Look at ferguson – he has anderson, scholes, carrick, fletcher and he still has the guts to bench two of them.
managers shouldnt be scared of the players, they control them.

Kuhulai
What does “hella kewl” mean ?
Great game today from the Chelsea youth team, a 6-0 win. They played a 4-4-2 which I loved to see, Quaresma was in to get some match practice and the phenom Stoch was on the other wing. Di Santo scored 2 and assisted 2 more before he was subbed off, he was brilliant. I really love watching this kid I hope he gets some more first team action as does Stoch. The brilliant Di Santo put on a really nice performance in front of Hiddink, he should be ready to take the next step. Borini was looking good as well. Quaresma breezed through this game, scoring 2 goals.. but I’m not certain how he will fit into Hiddink’s system. That same uncertainty goes for Deco, Malouda and Ballack.
I’m happy to say I’m excited about this new start, I feel as if Chelsea are re-born. Not solely because of our Watford result but there seems to be a much higher morale among the Chelsea players. It seems certain Hiddink will field the duo of Anelka and Drogba who have been singing each others praises about how they make each other better, and overall making Chelsea a much more goal scoring threat. Players are usually keen to impress right away when there is a new manager, so everything is looking really good. Hiddink has noted many of Chelsea’s weaknesses, especially our fitness. I guess coming from national team management, Scolari has forgotten fitness to be a part of training sessions. Our preparations have been poor since Mourinho was boss, and Cech has been complaining about not being adequately prepared for his opponents due to lack of video and knowledge. First thing Chelsea need to do, is get going on an extreme fitness plan. If Chelsea lose to Aston Villa don’t blame it on Hiddink, he was sitting in the stands at the Watford match realizing how out of shape our players are. It would be a natural result if we were to not get 3 points at Villa Park, due to our lack of fitness. I think Hiddink will get everyone fit and ready by the time we face Juventus. We’ll need some serious luck if we wanna catch Man Utd, but we should shift our focus elsewhere and just play the game the way we should. The FA Cup and Champions League should be of very high priority.
I can feel a much higher team morale, so I’m very excited to see this new Chelsea under Hiddink. The fans should rally behind this new team, it’s time to turn this season around.
PLs…someone one can give me the link for the highlights of the reserve game between chelsea and portsmouth…BC,hopefully i can upload it.thx:)

hope this has a positive impact. CL here we come………..
wilkins
the only thing grant did….WAS NOT TINKER WITH ANYTHING
yeah we played a similar style but when we needed changes, when we had injuries, grant was clueless, in an ever changing game, we do NOT want that
With fourth-placed Chelsea gunning for third-placed Villa, it seems the manager is pinning his hopes on a 4-4-2.
Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka played as striking partners.
A little further back, John Obi Mikel traded places with Deco, who then anchored a midfield diamond, with Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard deployed just ahead and wide of him.
could we see Mikel in an advance AM role for once??
Hiddink knows Drogba and Anelka can play together up front. Drogba is getting back to his best. Anelka is scoring goals this season. So there is no way they can’t play together.
If what press are reporting is true, i guess, the starting 11 against Aston Villa would be:
————————————————Cech—————————————————-
———Bosingwa—————-Alex——————-Terry—————–Ferriera————-
———-Ballack——————-Mikel——————-Deco——————Lampard———-
————————————-Anelka—————-Drogba————————————-
A.Cole is suspended. Carvalho could make his return but I don’t think Guus will rush him.

I would love to see that, but the problem is he might not score a goal… as his shooting is quite bad and he could miss a sitter by hitting it wide..I can surely say with utmost confidence that he’s the worst player on pitch when it comes to shooting in front of the goal or shooting on target..:-):-):-)
Do any of you know when Essien will get back ???
@ BC …Any updates on his status would be appreciated.
To 67,that formation will be disastrtoys agaianst satoton villa….we need some wingers to cope with the pace of young and milner..i think most probably ballack will be rested for deco and kalou will stat..as for quaresma wither he play in the later part or he will start in the place of one of the strikers
mikel’s shooting is crap outside the box but inside the box he is pretty decent. Mikel probably wont get too much AM duties this season because of the lack of better DM’s.
What i can see is chelsea playing with 2 DM’s one who is more of a playmaker DM the other a true all purpose workhorse,(think mascha/alonso pairing). in a 442 diamond it would work as lampard/ballack/deco could stop most teams getting decent chances but against top teams the midfield would be pretty weak. Also it would stop chelsea playing with wingers.

Look its simple. In champions league i think 433 is the way to go. The pitches are bigger and you need to close the space down in midfield. Basically not concede a goal. Then when you inevitably get an occasion during the game, score and win the game. Jose Maurino style!!!
Essien to replace Mikel when he is back and fit.
IMO we will squash villa this weekend with this formation

“Sacked Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has missed the chance to lead Saudi Arabia in the 2010 World Cup after demanding too much money. (Daily Mirror) .” Seems that guy wasn´t that humble at all.
I don´t think playing kalou, Drogba and Anelka as starters in every game is a good idea guys. If one of them gets injured or is fatigued, we need a replacement. So let one of them rest in your formations.

Yep, not in every game – but definitely in big games such as against Aston Villa, I desperately want to see all of them on the pitch. I strongly criticised Scolari for starting with the same 11 even against Southend United or so. But when such a game comes, there is no need of sparing any of our attacking trio – at least till Joe Cole or Essien get back to the squad.

The formations are good and it must feel absolutely great for those players who have accepted the One’s instructions. These players who have fulfilled his commands, may now have a new lease on life because they are literally re-born [ now supperior athletes].
My Supperior once informed my collegues and myself that those players would receive several gifts [the main hand-out being assistance] and
he would treat them as A-Grade players with all the other countless benefits that comes along with the contract that those players have signed.
And it would be nice if we turned this blog into ??? instead of ten comments.
