Chelsea 0-0 Hull City | It’s beyond doubt . . .

scol

. . . that Scolari’s not the man for this job. We are out of the title race and it’s February. He is in sackable form. If he is sacked, even he himself should not be surprised.

We’ve got to a point where it really does not make too much sense to discuss about the games in detail. It’s the same routine every single match. I had said in this blog before that we don’t play better or worse. We play the same way in every match. Which is why, this season, any opponent that shows more desire and determination than Chelsea is bound to get something from the match. We simply don’t raise our game. We don’t raise our game or react to situations. Chelsea players don’t feel insulted anymore if they concede. There is no urgency because there is no belief that urgency can help. The way I see it, all players as a team have come to the conclusion that they cannot win the title. It shows. And it’s worrying.

This match against Hull City started brightly. I even thought we were going to batter them. Quaresma was impressive. Bosingwa was disastrous. Anelka (premier league top scorer, my foot) was anonymous. Drogba was hopeless. Deco on the pitch is not so different from Deco on the bench. Mikel was tired, well the whole team was. Lampard and Kalou looked like they wanted to win this match. Hilario was always shaky and looked like a midfielder put on goal. Two positives – we did not lose and we did not concede from a set piece. Second half, Hull raised their game and we were just mediocre. Scolari got his substitutions yet again. Hull was growing in confidence. Getting past our defence was never that difficult for Hull. They must have scored. In fact, the chances created by them were closer than ours. Phil Brown says that he’s disappointed with a 0-0. Sad.

In just around six months time, Scolari has transformed Chelsea. The Chelsea I see now is an entirely different team. The football we play and the attitude we show on the pitch represents the No.7 to No.10 teams in the league. It is that bracket of No.7 to No.10, the objective is very simple. End up in the top half, you may not get Europe but just a top half finish. There is not a big difference between a No.7 or No.8 or No.9 or No.10. That’s how we play. We don’t seem to be too concerned about the table standings. I remember Essien scoring that extra time goal against Valencia at Mestalla in a champions league match and saying in the post-match interview “we deserved the three points”. It was a joke then that he said “three points” talking about a champions league match. But the thing is, everyone had the ‘three points’ mentality so very well etched in their minds.

Too many things have gone wrong under Scolari. I’m not even prepared to listen to his side of the story. In a sport where managers are judged by their results, he has failed. There is too much to see that helps me conclude that he has failed. He didn’t get the results, he has certainly not improved the way we play, he didn’t show any signs of developing any player and he hasn’t improved the team morale. That’s not the full list of negatives and I’m struggling to list the positives under his reign. Scolari has undone Chelsea.

I’m convinced that he should go. Most of us are with me. I think we could differ about the timing of his sack. Some say he should be out by now. Some say he should be sacked after this season. If you say his sacking now would impact the team morale and all that, I don’t the team morale any good as it is. I don’t see how it can go worse. We may not get an ideal replacement at this stage though unless we try to lure someone like Rijkaard. Whatever Chelsea FC does with Scolari, I’m only looking for a champions league spot now. And that’s under threat. Stop talking about Man Utd or Liverpool or even Villa. Let’s be No.1 among Arsenal, Everton and the like. The next time anyone from Chelsea FC talk about we being in the title race or showing confidence that we’d catch up Man Utd, I’m gonna scream.

Hi,BLUE CHAMPIONS IS RICARDO QUARESMA ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOR CHELSEAFC DESPITE PLAYING FOR INTER MILAN…I think we pass the ball around too much, and there is no urgency in the chelsea team that is the cause of our misfortunes recently. However,we should not have bought Deco knowing he has passed his prime…Adding Deco to an ageing Ballack,Balleti was not a wise decision !!!!!!!..

3. DanaBlue - 7th Feb

Must be the worst performance in 10 years. It’s time to go Scolari, you have overstayed your welcome, as you seem to drain the teat from any little motivation they have left.

4. Jay - 7th Feb

What has happened to chelsea this season, its hard to think we would be in this situation after what we have achieved in the last 3/4 years. Quite simply scolari hasn’t got any bottle at all. Under mourinho if we needed to get a goal like in todays game, he would take a risk by bringing on a striker and taking off a defender and actually go for the win. But scolari just plays it safe WHY?! I’ve finally run out of patience with this man, we need a manger who has more experience at club level and a winning mentality. What has Phil Scolari done at club level…… Win the South American equivalent of champions League twice!! but lets be serious for a minute teams like blackpool and yeovil could beat these sides.

Roman should have stuck with Grant even though we didn’t win any silverwear, he came very close on three fronts last season. We got to the Carling Cup final, Champions League final (which Chelsea should have won) and only missed out on the title by two points!! which is more than Scolari will do with us this season MAYBE. There’s still four months to go and we could end up with something this season but do we really deserve to after this ?

5. xerxesk - 7th Feb

People its Steve Clark, it shows why even Grant got the same performance as Jose. Lets just qualify for UCL please. That is the minimum.

Is Quaresma eligibloe to play for Chelseafc in UEFA CL.The new look of this blog is very nice with pictures….Cheers BC

Quaresma can’t play in the CL because he has already played with Inter so he is cup tied. Just saw Liverpool come back twice from behind to beat Pompey 3-2!!! That is what you call team spirit, Rafa played soo many of his players out of position and still got the result and even more amazing is the fact that they lost widweek to Everton and were able to bounce back from a loss and keep the pressure on UTD with a win today. As for our chelsea bunch we should play now to make sure that we are eligible for atleast CL next year (sounds pathetic don’t it) with considering the fact we are in the first week on FEB and already out of the title chase!! In the last 5 years can anyone else point out when Chelsea was out of the title race with 3 months to go because I certainly can’t. I would be damm surprised even if we end up winning the FA cup by some miracle (possibly with the opposition fast asleep on the pitch) even then we just might be able to beat them. C’mon I know that a PL manager job is not a walk in the park and we can talk loud as much as we want but when put on the spot, we probably won’t even make it a day but LFS is not any other ordinary man, he’s won the world cup god dammit, how can one man with a CV like his suck soo much at a game he has been a part of for the last 50 odd years?? He simply can’t cut it at this level, he might have beaten some washed up teams to win the World Cup but the PL has certainly proven that not every old dog can learn new tricks. Soo much hype around Quaresma and what was the end product?? When he started to get into the hang of the game LFS takes him off and brings in Drogba a proven goal scorer with less than 30 mins to go. What makes me even more angry is that leaves Bosingwa on, whom I am sure was on weed because he was simply delirious with the way he was playing. LFS just pack your bags and leave, honestly don’t make a mockery out of Chelsea more than you have already, you can’t win the PL even if the FA were to gift you 20 points and that on its own says everything!!

9. jinx - 7th Feb

perfect pic.

10. Jasdeep - 7th Feb

I was wondering why not buy a striker in the transfer window. Instead they get Quaresma! Are we building a Portugese national team playing in the EPL? If we cannot score big against Hull we dont deserve to play in Europe. If I can see holes in our striking force why cant Scolari cause he is not doing anything about it.

11. cfc - 7th Feb

Rafa Benitez did not start with Torres because he felt he is tired and bring him on for 60 minutes. Clearly today Mikel should not have started. It should have been belleti or where the hell is miniero ??

Luis Fellipe Scolari has no imagination. Now I am clear why Scolari sold Sheva, Sidwell and Shaun Philips. Clearly he knew the team he had to play and he was going to play them in and out for 50 games. He is not fit to be called a coach and probably his relegious belief convinced god to win him a world cup .

I will be happy if we even win a FA cup , which looks tough considering that we have still Man U and Arsenal in the FA cup . Only if they are knocked by some one else, we can think of the FA cup..

12. D.Ilijazi - 7th Feb

My opinion is that we should sack him imidiatly befor any CHL game ! The only coach that we should hire i think is Rajkard ! I think that we should win CHL this year becouse we lost the premier league !

SACK SCOLARI ! GET RAJKARD !

13. Splinter_Cell - 7th Feb

Now, we go down the drain again with no clues and now look like orphans without parents to guide us.What is wrong? Here are my views:
1.Over use of first 11 players:Our first 11 players have been use always even in Carling, FA,League and CPL.What the fcuk is this. Are humans machines who work always.Scolari better rest some players cos they are playing shit.
2.No squad rotation:One of the biggest problems with our team.Scolari never wants to rotate squad, replace exhausted players with those lacking play time.Ivanovic is a superb centre back much better than Alex.See how lazy Alex has been after seeking a transfer.Always the one to blame.Ivanovic needs to be played Scolari if you are reading!!!!!What the heck are Deco, Ballack, Anelka(at least would spare him),Drogba,Alex,Malouda doing in the team.Only adding up to numbers and waiting for their salary.Damn, well Malouda is just trying to hit form but damn it he just can’t be the lethal winger we knew of in Lyon.Anelka although EPL top scorer, man, he is just playing bad because he looks exhausted and hopeless with how the team are playing.I say get Pizarro back from loan to patner Anelka in strike.
3.Improper use of resoursces:We have super-talented players in Ivanovic,Taylor(one of the best young keepers in the world),Scott sinclair, Stoch,Kakuta,Kalou, Di santo,Ben Sahar,Mancienne(should have been playing instead of Alex, he needs to learn from his mentor, Terry) Tejera,Woods, saywer and the Turkish super talent Tore.I’ve seen Tore play and is a special prospect for the future.
Imagine if Arsl,Manu,Lvpool,Aston, had Sinclair, Di santo, Stoch and Kakuta in their team, I tell you they woould have been fulfilling their potentials by now but not with the case of chelsea.
3.Change of Coach and strategies and formation:Not much to say, we need a long term coach, young, very intelligent and one who would think about the future and present.
4.Go back for Steve Clarke and bring in Everton or Aston VIlla manager.

14. denver - 7th Feb

scolari is running our player into the ground. They are so tired.. look at mikel today, bosingwa (didn’t defend well from the start) but is has gotten worst, he is tired, A. Cole is tired! the man is a moron…!! he will kill us!! this is a FACT! we are tired and clueless!! scolari there is no way you can start the same eleven players for ever match!! they will die of fatigue (which has started already) mikel is the first victim. I thought the board would wait until the end of the season, but at this rate we wont have a team left by the end of the season, Chelsea board should do something now!!

15. johnarejr - 7th Feb

Ditto xerxesk#5. Up until the time Clarke left, Chelsea was solid this season. The CL and FA are the only possibilities now. This is sad.

Denver,

Do you live in CO? I am just moving to Denver from CA. I need a place to watch matches on game day.

Thanks.

18. TruePlatinum - 7th Feb

the team are exhausted
there is no rotation and it irritates me, scolari seems to think chelsea is a computer game, no doubt we are an elite squad, no doubt our lack of physciallity is a scolari side effect
it becomes apparrent that scolari is not right, even for me, someone who was a firm supporter
i dont want to see outrageous comments like bring back grant, bring back pizarro, one thing i was happy about scolari to do, was to remove deadweight, but the biggest problem i had, was him allowing wayne bridge to leave and not having a replacement lined up
scolari is going to destroy this squad, yes he has connections to bring in the wonder kids of tomorrow, but it would appear much like benitez who he admires, he will only favour fellow countrymen
I didn’t see the match but looking at stats makes me wonder, with all the time on the ball we have, why are we missing tackles, why aren’t we skipping past the last man and putting the ball in the net? legs are tired, squad is not rested at the right time, scolari always relies on something spectacular to save us, I’m sick of it. I am actually calling for his removal, D.Ilijazi is a man after my heart, bring in Rijkaard, he has tactics, he will mesh our attack as he is that kind of coach, he built the barca team that is going to conquer the world this season.
It is not too late to salvage the campaign, we are relying on some favours, but a draw between liverpool and man utd, a win over villa, a win over arsenal and man utd & liverpool dropping points with arsenal can place us into position to contend again.
Our team needs help, scolari allowed cudicini to leave, cech does get and has been injured, hilario did well when we needed him, but do we trust him? where is storari? are we going to be forced into the hands of rhys taylor?
he allowed bridge to leave, now ashley is our only leftback, what happens when he is injured? will he play ferreira like he did in euro 08? i hope not. He sold swp and we have only just acquired quaresma
scolari has now added to the fact we have lost depth in the squad, we have a strong depth in central areas but not in the wide ones which is apparrently where scolari emphasises his game
we could of had countless stars, but he said the squad we have is good enough, our players need to rest and who can pick up the baton? good move luiz, now move on
TRUEPLATINUM FOR RIJKAARD!

Napolean would never hire a General that wasn’t deemed to be lucky. He knew that on the battlefield the were too many uncontolable situations so although he wanted skilled generals, he wanted to hedge his bets by bringing on some luck. Most of us grew up with at least one kid who wasn’t better than us on the pitch but was luckier. Certain players stand above their peers with equal talent because they too are lucky. Skill, preparation and practice are number one but luck also plays a role. Scolari is skillful but unlucky. Liverppol FC is a good team (not great) with much luck. Fergusen is skillful and lucky. Mourinho was the most skilled coach and the luckiest. Luck runs in cycles so no one is lucky all the time but without Mourinho, Fergusen will bring home the metal. Scolari had his luck running early in the season. Maybe he can get it back but we are witnessing a deterioration of his talent at the same time his luck is fading.

Why do you say Mourinho was lucky ? Also why do you say Scolari is unlucky ( apart from Lampard red card). You have well said – “Skill, preparation and practice are number one but luck also plays a role.” I would add two more to this list – Hunger for success and determination. I think with all this, luck automatically comes your way..

Replying to KTBBFH: sorry man i live in jamaica.

I say Rijkaard or Mancine who ever it is get Clarke to work with him, we could even try with clarke aswell give him a crack at it for the rest of the season!!! come guys what do you think ?? give clarke the squad!! or get rijkaard or mancine thats what i want. scolari is runinig the team into the ground!! he is!!!
i would boo his ass too!! he is shit and he has single hand fucked up chelsea!! i say go back to brazil you moron, i mean it, i actually made the call months ago when i saw he had not tactics and never rotated, it is as if he does not plan, no rest for players!! he should get a new coach for juve match, or as clarke to run things until the end or the season! i dont want to ramble though

24. johnarejr - 7th Feb

Has anyone checked out the other Chelsea blog, http://www.oleole.com/blogs/chelseablog? The player ratings are disappointingly funny.
Denver, if you remember, there was a guy posting over here under the name Steve Clarke with an avitar of Clarke and that fellow from Portugal. I don’t think I’d seen a post from him this season.
Does Roman still show up for the matches? If so, is he talking much to the supporters?

25. denver - 7th Feb

sometimes i wish i could call you guys and talk about the match cause i dont have much chelsea fans where i live. its very hard to see such a strong squad (the strongest in Europ at the start of the season) a team that does not concede, to shit in months !!! we have become a team that cant win a match!! thats not chelsea. the hull coach said they could have nicked it!! wtf!!! a season ago he couldnt even think about that (is the truth or a lie?) we would have fucked them up royally !!! we have lost the title again witha very strong team!! and the board cant realize that it is the manager?? come on!! get me a real manager now fuck credit crisis this is a crisis!!i know rijkaard would bring attack plus defensive stability with a lot of goals, while mancine would bring back efficiency less goals but very composed.

26. denver - 7th Feb

it is the manner in which we loose or draw, we go down with out a fight!! it comes down the the managers mentality scolari is a wimp!! we need a proven rootless tactician.
scolari can take deco with him too

27. IwasMissingJose - 7th Feb

In between i had stopped asking for Scolari´s head, thinking he would turn things out better now on. But it seems he´s too old and imcompetitive and i´m asking for his sacking once again. He must leave.

28. borneo blue - 7th Feb

Scolari should be sacked.. He is not even near to the standards of master tactician fergie and rafa. Even though i hate them but they give good results to their team. I think steve clarke might be a better manager than him. Steve is chelsea through and through.. When will the arabs buy cfc? The arabs must get Mourinho back and and let him pick the best players for cfc. I still dont understand why quaresma was taken out last nite. He gave more threats to the hull than the other players especially anelka. Anelka didnt even fight for the ball in the air. Come on chels. We need that fighting spirit. Somebody help us!!

29. xerxesk - 7th Feb

MY DREAM is that
we sign Rijkaard for out manager and Mancine as his assistant.

30. tony ryan - 7th Feb

i think im of what is happening to chelsea teams, i dnt know if the fault is frm the coach or some of our player is ageing. wen is michael essien coming bk?. peter should please bring back jose, i know he still love chelsea. scolari should be sack he has no preium league experience.

31. sang_buragas - 7th Feb

for me, scolari is the one to be blame. like others said, y used the same players for all competition? the subsitutions also no impact. he took out a mid & replace with a mid. y dun take out a defender & replace with a striker?

32. TruePlatinum - 7th Feb

can we start some kind of petition to get rijkaard in? please, i love this club too much to let it go on like this

33. trueblue - 7th Feb

I want Steve Clarke as our manager for next season.

34. Anne - 7th Feb

Me myself would prefer José Mário dos Santos Félix Mourinho since his victories at Chelsea.

35. sidtrueblue - 7th Feb

i love chelsea FC way too much cnt take this no more :(

36. hotseafydo - 7th Feb

has it occurred to anyone that since STEVE CLARKE left in September 08, we have been on the decline, decline, decline. SCOLARI does not have any clue as to motivate, refresh his team. he his just clueless and waits on luck.

the team is defensively unorganised again, fitness is low, TACTICALLY DEFICIENT (cant score from set pieces again, one directional play only) and most of all ageing squad (when fergie said it at the beginning of the season, i almost cursed him). LFS cannot read a game, substitution is to say the least POOR(TACTICALLY NAIVE)

going forward, the solution is obvious, we need to change coach however sacking SCOLARI will cost money, and hiring another world class coach will cost money (and of course the new coach must bring in new players which cost money too) and with the situation of cost management by the board this may jolly well not happen.

so i take it that we have to leave with LFS for sometime and be prepared for mediocre results. lets completely REDUCE OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM NOW ON.

37. sack scolari - 7th Feb

Sack Scolari and peter kenyon with him

38. D.Ilijazi - 7th Feb

Hey can the admin of this blog (i don’t know who is he ) or anyone who can, make a opinion polll (not about sacking or not scolari becouse i thing this is what we all want ) but about which manager would you prefer to be seaten on the manager seat !

i myself am keen on change, and i want to see it now
lol, xabi alonso is a prick
but anyway, the team had always had similar problems since last season, we could all see it, but I’m thinking clarke is the man who prevented it week in week out, It is not too late to do something but if we are, Roman needs to act now and yes, I want to see kenyon go as well, the man is a plank, i think offer rijkaard the job, if we offer it to clarke and he doesn’t quite cut it, he would not accept an assistant role again much like hen ten cate and grant

44. vovka - 7th Feb

I copy here part of discussion from the previous article. Sorry to everybody for disturbing.

31 | vovka

This is just unbelievable. The team is simply tired, overworked, siphoned off. I wanted to eat my glass when I saw Mikel unable to start run quickly, Bosingwa resigning to the sprints up and down, Ballack unable to move faster than a quick march… Nobody yet told Scolari that Premier League is not a World Championship, that it consists of 38 matches, not 7? That the whole season can be about 50-60 matches and it is impossible to play all of them with the same 11? I am simply amazed with the amount of stupidity I can see recent days…

Man of the match for Chelsea: Belletti (is it a coincidence that he doesn’t play regularly?)

Worst on the pitch: Mikel and Bosingwa (is it a coincidence that they play every, every match including fucking FA Cup first round, etc.?)

I don´t think the players didn´t want to give their 100%. They simply could not. The system of play was again one-dimensional, when anybody came with the ball close to the square, he simply could not pass it, shoot it, anything besides trying to move round the closest defender and hope that after that things will be different. Stereotypical crosses from wingbacks, aiming at the far post where 3 of our players wait at least 5 minutes before the ball comes and – logically – they are well guarded by defenders.

But what can you do when your players are simply overpaced, overmusled and cannot deliver a performance? When even a running rocket like Bosingwa is unable to out-run opponent? Guys, this is not about their age – they are simply overused. No wonder that when Bosingwa tries to move the ball to the centre, nobody moves close to him; everybody is waiting and is glad that he can watch the game for a while and is not forced to do anything. I am distressed with this team.

34 | IwasMissingJose

tired? you must be joking, they had the whole fcuking week to prepare for this match, i´m sure they got enough rest as well. Lets not hide it, atleast i cannot do that anymore. i have lost all of my patience. I´ve tried to be positive, very positive till now, but not anymore. this whole thing happened solely due to Scolari. He is not capable. guys don´t think essien will be able to change anything. He will come back from injury, but our mid-field and tactics would remain the same, and we´d still be drawing and losing.

Now my answer – I don’t talk about short-term tiredness, but a long-term fatigue – the kind of why there are so many injured or underperforming players at the World or Europe Championships, which are held at the end of the season. This is not possible to cure with one-week ordinary training; this is for a two-week holiday without football at all. Maybe this is a mind fatigue as well – when the team loses its grip, it’s also frustrating and many people would prefer this season to be off yet. I can see signs of this type of fatigue on Mikel, Bosingwa, maybe also Ballack, Lamps and Anelka. Scolari has one of the biggest squads in the PL, but he simply doesn’t know how to use it. Sad and distressing.

This was the comment , way back in Sept when we played Portsmouth in carling cup . As I said, never understood his tactics. One thing is clear, he is consistent with his tactics..

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
Not impressed with the team LFS started or even his tactics or should I say I did not understand .

Why did he start with Terry and Lampard. They have started all games and played near full time (except for his red card) and everyone knows their importance to the team. Last 2 seasons, we lost the title just because of their injuries. in my opinion, Frank scores 20 goals a season and also creates another 20 ..

I kind of understand why he started with Drogba and Ballack , but after 3 goals and 47 minutes, I would have one substitution Stoch or Sinclair in for Ballack . Franco should have come after probably 60 minutes, so that he has some time..

In a cup tie, a win is a win , 1-0, 4-0 or anything. But we lost an opportunity to test our young guns against a premiership opposition.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

47. CFCIR - 7th Feb

RIJKARD+HEN TEN CATE+ST CLARCK=This is the best Manager team for chelsea.Attacking with intelligence and defend wise.He can not do anything in CL AND FA CUP too.Another fucking thing to hurt us is ,why roman and kenyon doesnt take any actions?

48. Jaz - 7th Feb

A lot of things were wrong in the game yesterday. The biggest mistake is next to none squad rotation, we almost always have the same starting 11 in every single match (regardless even if it is FA or Carling Cup) unless a player is injured. The players look exhausted, Mikel looked completely tired, Bosingwa was out of the game, Anelka looked clueless, Drogba has no more passion left because he gets benched match in and match out. We have soo many gifted youngsters but they are never used unless for the last 5 mins, which will never do them any good. Bosingwa should have been rested, instead we should of played Ferraira, instead of Alex we should of put Ivanovic. Mikel had no reason to be in that game because he was tired plus we don’t need a defensive midfeilder in a game where the opposition have the weaker attack. Instead we should of played a 4-4-2 formation with Lamps and Ballack in the middle (either one could have been taken off for Deco). On the wings Quaresma and Kakuta (Stoch) could have started and we could of played with the brilliant attacking force of Drogba and Di Santo and either one or both could have subsituted with Anleka and Kalou (playing him in his natural position, rather then the wings). This way the youngsters get the chance to prove themselves and it keeps the team fresh and motivated. If you look at the team now we have tired individuals who have played in almost 30+ games striaght now. LFS does not understand the fact that these big key players need to be kept fresh and ready for big matches and it also minimises the chances of injury. But instead he plays the same team and will continue to week in and week out and as the season drags on I won’t be surprised if someone else picks up a long term injury. It’s not that our team does not have the motivation left in them anymore, its because they dont the energy left in them. On top of it, it’s not like we have the youngest squad in the Premiership, most of our players are 30+ so they need to rest and re-cooperate but under LFS that is as good as us hoping to win anything this season. He needs to change his mentality of playing the strongest 11 every game because this is the Premiership and not the World Cup, but something tells me nothing is going to change anytime soon.

49. heyjose - 7th Feb

look we will still finish 3rd no bother aston villa have a smaller squad they will struggle in april yes we cant win the league but we have unlucky some missed chances we should have had a penalty in second half today i watched espn experts talking about chelsea that penalty
would have been given 9 0ut of 10 times rem manu getting a soft penalty at ot last weekend we would beaten them comfartably we needed 1 goal
only yesterday. i am not defending scolari here he made mistakes but we could have won had decision been given had manu been invovled i be
then that
would have been a penalty espn experts also agree i think it is blip we will bounce back agaist villa

50. heyjose - 7th Feb

quaresma kalou and lampard were better please scolari no mikel 4 fa cup he needs rest give bos a rest with terry suspended he should

cech not risked

51. denver - 7th Feb

Replying to heyjose: I love that squad man!!!!

Replying to CFCIR: I agree thats what hurts the most!!! that fucking moron is running our team into the ground and no one!! not roman or Kenyon aren’t taking any action!!

note: its quite odd because the player scolari says can break down defenses… and can dribble and the player he needs the most …. is not given enough time to play!!

52. blue thru and thru - 7th Feb

Sold our soul for a Brazilian! Barzilians are extremely talented but lazy as S H I T! Where are Mourinho’s files on opponents! Scalari is here for the check and only the check! He wants to be fired to get his seveence and go back to Brazil! Good bye! Take you pay off and your damaged reputation with you!

53. bluefanforever - 7th Feb

manu 1 – 0 west ham..we’re 7 points of the top with manu having a game in hand..
we’re in a bad shape and don’t deserve to win the league..heck..we don’t even deserve to be playing CL football next season…
i wouldn’t be surprised if we dint make it…somethings got to change……and soon..before we’re out of the CL and FA cup this year..the only two competitions where we’re in honestly..

54. johnarejr - 7th Feb

The greatest disaster this season isn’t that Chelsea most likely won’t win any silverware. But, when a manager fails to inspire a team to play well and the team cannot rise to the occasion to win matches on their own home turf against average comptetitors, the club then becomes worthy of joke material. Raneri may not have been the best manager in the world. But, under him, the team would play their butts off. Same is true for Avram. Execpt for the CL and FA, the season is over. Play the younger guys and let them bond as much as possible. See if Quaresma can be brought, and clean house at the end of the season.

Hi Bluechampions

Luis Philipe Scolari is a brilliant manager.
No one is disputing his credability as a football manager.
But look at the Brazilian national team. Every football player ie. Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldo etc. knows how to play football (they were taught by their club how to play brilliant football) but he did a brilliant job picking the starting line-up.
Being a manager in the Brazilian National League is very similar to being a manager in the Barclays Premier League as their are alot of ameteur football players in both leagues.
The only difference is that the title contenders do not have any ameteurs in their team (only weak links). lol
Chelsea FC should have thrashed Hull City. lol
I’m sorry to say it but that was pathetic.

Cheers

I wish they sack LFS and bring back JM – only to prove to you guys that you don’t know what you are talking about:
NO-ONE can change the situation we are in – not JM no Steve Ckark and no AG.
These players suited the JM STYLE OF PLAY (skill wasn’t prerequisite)- they are older now ,4 years at the top is long time in footbal,in particular for players that skill isn’t their main charactaristic.look at Gigs for example. His skill keeps him in the team ,at his age, not his strength not his fitness ,not his motivation nor eagerness to win.
We don’t have it : Lampard is mediocre with long balls as his only tool .
Balak has nothing but motivation.Deco is dead duck and Mikel can’t pass a ball properly ,though defensively he his good.
LFS is so helpless that he rely on Beleti -another low level player that should have gone long ago.
And if you don’t have skill in your midfield you can’t develop a proper advancing game where both the midfield and the attacking players exchange passes and advance forward and cut throgh the op defence.
I would say without hasitation we have one of the weakest midfield in the EPL.I saw Westham/Mancester today, what a pleasure .They lost, but still the way they played is by far superior to CFC (skillwise).Sad but true.
We should forget now about winning any Trophy this year and concentrate on renovating our team while maintaining our 3/4 th place for next year CL.
The bottom line in my argument is : LFS knows football better than all of you together- what you see he sees even further. He is not stupid .
He has good eyes for talent and skill and with the right players he may transform us into an attractive winning team.
For him soccer is like art – he is trying to make us play his way ,unfortunately the players he has are not suited for the task.
That is his problem and it is a bad one.

We eat now the fruits that JM left behind.

michael mariens
everyone is disputing the managerial ability of scolari, at international level, all you have to do is mesh the personalities and pick the in form countrymen
scolari managed a brazil team that had endless depth in every position at the time and ronaldinho himself was a young talent
portugal however, are very short of goalies, left sided players and strikers, and he won nothing
international fixtures do not have to be so concerned about fixture as they usually occur sparsely
i was very supportive of scolari but now i see it is time to move on and up

58. Michael - 7th Feb

offbeat news but I found this hilarious. http://www.pcmag-mideast.com/newsdetail.aspx?newsID=2582&mode=1&pid=1 Scolari offering his expertise and football knowledge in a game hahaha!

59. 13joe13 - 7th Feb

I would take a top 4 finish right now

60. Sumesh - 7th Feb

I’d be happy with a CL finish too – at least we’d have something to look forward in next season. I agree that Scolari deserves to go, but the new manager should not be rated on the basis of performances this season.

My earnest view is that Chelsea should have a coach who likes attacking football, is a good tactician and brings in youth players to mix ‘em up with the experienced ones. A bit like Fergie, if you would. Riijkard may be a good option, and certainly possesses the attacking priorities and brings in youngsters (Messi, Bojan etc.) – I personally felt we should have hired him instead of Scolari anyway. Most people wouldn’t have liked it at the end of last season, because Riijkard was a Barca discard and failed in the last season. Let’s hope everyone sheds their egos and hires a good coach who can adopt (and not necessarily one with reputation) this time.

61. ish - 7th Feb

i say hire steve clarke as manager, he has been a great assman and every1 in chelsea knows him well. He should be able to choose another assman as well. He might struggle with the role of managing a bunch of stuff but if he gets some decent assmen he should do well. i think the problem is that scolari’s guys just cant cut it and are effecting the team in whole.
Chelsea will win their CL spot but im pretty sure that this year will be seen much the same way that barce was seen, the fall of a great. So unless chelsea somehow pulls its head out of its arse it will struggle next season, barce did so by going the old siege mentality which is what mourinho did as well, by making the players all play as 1 and think that every1 else is out to get them he made them fearless. That said its very hard to keep the mentality over a long period. Barce also spent alot of money this season, 30 mill on alves, 20 on keita, 10 on pique, 10 on caceres, 10 on hleb and have seen some barce b youth breaking in.
Chelsea is still a new club in terms of european dominance, romans money allowed them to overachieve but now that chelsea are aiming for self reliance they really need to sort out their house which is what they doing. Slowly they are coming into self reliance but the problem is the complete lack of strength seen in the club. Bosingwa was a machine at the start of the season, so was mikel. Now they look tired and in need of a rest. Mikel is barely past 20 and yet has started nearly every game chelsea has played, that is insane since belletti could fill in just as capably. Ivanovic has shown that he can cover for not only the CB’s but for bosingwa as well but he too isnt getting any games. A.cole has not real choice not to play since bridge is gone but maybe give ferriera some time in that position. I think the biggest problem scolari has is this idea that each player has 1 role and its where they should stick. He could so easily have played bosingwa as a Right winger with ivanovic behind him or belletti as the RM in a 4141. Same goes with bridge who could have replaced an injured malouda as a left winger and linked up capably with a.cole. The team looks worn out and reminds me of arsenal last year, a decent first half but around decemeber they broke down due to injuries and lack of rotation due to small squad depth, that shouldnt be a problem for chelsea yet many players arent getting the time because scolari(who i think has the potential to do well) isnt playing like a club manager but a country manager, one who doesnt need to worry about the marathon only the 100 metre sprint. When CL comes it will hurt us more then it will hurt liverpool which is plain pathetic.

62. JoseHoliday - 7th Feb

My neighbour’s kid who’s a Chelsea fan and watched the Hull match together with me, told me with tears in his eyes after the game :

I’m afraid to watch Chelsea games now, I don’t look forward to weekends now and I get nightmares .

Scolari ! Look whatcha done !

Actually I had lump in my throat the whole gmae and a tear in my eye afterwards too.

Jose Holiday,
You are not alone then..

The same players played in the CL final and were in the title race till the last round 7 months ago! They could not get so much older in such a little time :) in fact, this is only LFS and his stupid decision to play the same 11 for 60 games in a row – that is killing even Mikel and Bosingwa, who are definitely not too old.

57 | TruePlatinum

That’s it. Credit to LFS for the World Championship – he was able to pick up a great starting 11 that won 7 matches in a row and won a championship. But he is not able to do anything beyond this short-term goal. We need a manager with long-term vision and plan, able to build the team, not just pick from what is now available. No place for Scolari then.

66. CFCIR - 7th Feb

This is a very easy season to MU to win title, chelsea had went out of racew and liverpool is always a looser.I want to see Stamford Bridge empty in the next games. If we want to see things logical arsenal is better than chelsea and only luck keep us at the 4 place.Injuries prevent arsenal to be in the top four. But what about us ,the only reason that we are sucked is Scolari

67. Blue_M - 7th Feb

@Vovka 64

True ,these are the same players – Few month is long time at this stage of their lives. You could see last year that we are reaching the turning point. That why Deco came in and I remember how everyone was enthuiast about his level of play in his first few games. But he soo fell to the
high demand of the EPL. He has the skill but not the strength.
LFS thought he could do something with these banch of big names, but soon realized he his lacking the skill to enable him to transform CFC.
He wanted Robinho, for the simple reason that he needed a player that can creat advantage using the ability to overtake the defence which he soon realized no one in CFC has.He gave chances to Malouda for that same reason and was disapointed. That is why he is giving more credit to Kalou who seemed to improve lately. He is unlucky with JC and he hope that quaresma will fill this gap.
Look at his face during the game in particular when he sees Drogba losing controll of the ball or Bosingwa shooting long ball to no-where.

Now who do you want him to play-rotate when as far as he is concerened there is no one arround with the right standard.
If

68. JoseHoliday - 7th Feb

JM had promise and delivered.
Grant didn’t have promise but nearly delivered.
Scolari had promise but delivered a nightmare season full of humiliation …. not just losses and draws….

I’d be happy with the next one …. having a litte promise and delivering a second place finish with a thumping of ManU, Liverfool and Arsey

Firstly I rememer in December when we were making love holding hands and I was your man. lol

the team are exhausted

- The players lack motivation. And they don’t know in which direction the club is going (huh 500 milllion pound debt).

there is no rotation and it irritates me, scolari seems to think chelsea is a computer game, no doubt we are an elite squad, no doubt our lack of physciallity is a scolari side effect

- I have my theory and philsophy.

it becomes apparrent that scolari is not right, even for me, someone who was a firm supporter

-Scolari is a credible manager.

i dont want to see outrageous comments like bring back grant, bring back pizarro, one thing i was happy about scolari to do, was to remove deadweight, but the biggest problem i had, was him allowing wayne bridge to leave and not having a replacement lined up

-True. But I was dissapointed when Chelsea sold Arjen Robben and brought in Florent Malouda (there was sebastian schweinsteiger, ricardo quaresma morten gamst pederson etc) .
Jose Mourinho is a good manager but he is not the best.

scolari is going to destroy this squad, yes he has connections to bring in the wonder kids of tomorrow, but it would appear much like benitez who he admires, he will only favour fellow countrymen

-True. Abdal Taraarbt, Kasper Schiemikel, Morten Gamst Pederson.

- I don’t want to say anything.

- I remember. lol

I am a Representative for T-Mobile (USA) in Cape Town and I am pressed for time.

Cheers

70. denver - 7th Feb

Huntelaar wants to leave madrid!!! should we get him!! he is a finisher!!!

71. ish - 7th Feb

huntelaar is over rated and will suck like shit in the prem league, doesnt have the strength or skill of ruud and is too slow to be great. If chelsea want a striker(we dont really need 1) go for benzema if we gonna aim high for names. What chelsea needs is a winger or a formation change so that we dont use wingers because chelsea wingers are crap. The problem with chelsea is in midfield, chelsea’s midfield is a shadow of its former glory, lampard, mikel look tired. Ballack, deco not performing, essien injured and the wingers are shit. We cant control the midfield and we cant exploit the wings.
What chelsea needs is to let go of ballack, let go of ferriera, drogba and malouda.
That will save a crap load on the wage bill in their place buy veloso or another capable DM/CM who can add some steel to the midfield during tough games. Either stop using wingers completely or get 2 really good ones. If 2 good ones then j.cole becomes a sub at best. Start using kalou as striker the kid can score if given the chance, he just isnt any good in the wings. Buy a replacement for bridge or promote a youth teamer(none really good enough).
I want a team that when we put out the midfield becomes a rock. I miss essien so much because he provides the true box to box DMing that ballack/lampard/deco cant do and nearly all the big teams have them these days if they use the 433.

72. TruePlatinum - 7th Feb

michael mariens, lol
i did have alot of faith in scolari, I’ve just come to the point where i don’t feel i can defend him anymore
we play the same team in every competition, im not sure why he chooses to do this
I don’t think you can defend him much longer, it takes a special man to admire benitez for starters, lol
when we were looking for a manager, i expected rijkaard, we got scolari and i thought hmmn, here is a credible manager, but he hasn’t lived up to that, we started the season with a huge warning to the rest of the world but now little teams are playing us looking to steal points, we should not be taking that and scolari doesn’t seem to accept the problem lies with him, maybe in a different league with different players, he would do better, but him and chelsea are not working well

73. TruePlatinum - 7th Feb

blue m
i dont agree with you because all chelsea players have ability to pass the ball
what do you count as skill? ball control? dribbling ability? passing?
lampard does alot more for chelsea than make long passes just like terry does alot more than wear a captains armband
our team has all those abilities, the majority of our players are talented passers, can all control the ball well and can exhibit some dribbling abilty, the right manager will do well with chelsea
ranieri was ok, he was a stable manager, but not quite what we needed, mourinho was perfect for the squad, he did alot on a professional and personal level for the team
i do not think grant nor scolari has done this
the players have tried the scolari system, it does not work for them, so scolari either needs a new system or we need a new manager, that is the way it is
a coach that develops a solid backline and gets the attack co-ordinated properly is exactly what we need, that is not scolari
euro 2008
if i need to go into more depth, playing ferreira at left back
christiano ronaldo as a single striker playing in front of deco with two defensive midfielders
portugal got through on the back of ronaldo, they play a germany team who is pretty much an international chelsea, and get sent away on their asses

74. TruePlatinum - 7th Feb

just adding what i forgot in reply to michaek mariens,
The players lack motivation. And they don’t know in which direction the club is going (huh 500 milllion pound debt).
- a true professional would not be affected on the pitch by this, if they are, they should play harder to bring money to the club, the team is half asleep, our players are worn, do you honestly expect the same line up for all 38 premiership games plus champions league, fa cup and carling cup, it can never work, never. Scolari had never pit our youngsters who have so much talent and need a chance to break through properly against lower teams, players like stoch, manciennce, sinclair, di santo are all ready for the premiership, even capello called mancienne up to international level, yet scolari cannot let him play burnley? Some of our players, i.e the ones i am not fond of like belletti, were never motivated to do anything they couldn’t be bothered to do, so mourinho and grant dropped them, scolari doesn’t, the most he ever did was drop drogba for not pulling out miracle goals

I have my theory and philsophy.
-what are they?

Scolari is a credible manager.-True.
-he is, but is not ready for this league, he should maybe start in brazil and try a country like spain or italy first
it is not his credibilty we dispute, but his ability

But I was dissapointed when Chelsea sold Arjen Robben and brought in Florent Malouda (there was sebastian schweinsteiger, ricardo quaresma morten gamst pederson etc) .
-mourinho said when he brought malouda to london, he is not robben’s replacement, and also don’t forget mourinho had a list of other players he wanted but the team did not get
i like pederson, i like petrov, i love podolski, but back to the point, getting a left winger is a difficult process, had mourinho been with us at the end of last season, i’m certain he would of brought in quaresma, another winger and a rightback, and gotten rid of a few more players

75. denver - 7th Feb

and he axe has fallen!!! scolari I knew it would have come, i just felt it. he turned us into shit. we have never struggled so much in our lives to get a point. now they better get someone damn good!!!
We want wilkins out to!!!
Replying to Nick: i dont think zola should be in it .. i want not experiments !!

mancine or rijaark for me if we cant get back JM

Rijaard would turn us into attack central with goals to kill, with defensive balance, while mancie would give us back our efficiency with a mix of attack and defense.
we want that cup so bad!!! please god let it be a good coach … not someone that tricked us like scolari…. I really though he was our savour for a while.
as i said rijkaard knows good players!! mancine has wona few cups in his time.
i believe the reason mancine didnt go to man city was because he suspected scolari would get the axe sooner or later and he wants to coach a big team, but rijkaard will be fresh and ready to go !!

up you might blues! (scolari the destroyer has left!)
