Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea | Same new Chelsea – spineless & clueless
Okay, the red card to Lampard was plain scandalous but this was a match we would not have won even with 12 players. Actually, I’m at a loss for words. There’s nothing I need to say now. Everything I have to say have been said. In fact, it would be perfectly in order, if I copy and paste from the articles of any of our earlier defeats this season. This match was not any different from matches like Liverpool (home), Man Utd (away) and Arsenal (home). We created nothing. We were not in it from the kick off. In fact, this was a very well deserved defeat. Let the red card incident not blind this fact. Let’s not hide behind that ridiculous decision by Riley. Of course, the referee was a moron there but even with Scolari as the referee, we would not have won this match. We had ONE shot (to Liverpool’s FIFTEEN) on goal. That’s it.
We have been talking all season about Scolari’s obsession with playing his eleven first choice players, every single match. After the Man Utd disaster, we had four matches – three from lower leagues and one premier league relegation battler. He still played his first choice lot, including a match in the mid week. The result – Liverpool out-ran, out-thought, out-muscled, out-tackled and out-shot Chelsea. Well, even if we had 11 fully fit and zero-fatigue first choice players, there would be no assurances because we seem to have no plan at all. There was simply no attacking plan as such. Everything was left to chance. Players were not moving to spaces or weren’t sure whether to run or not to run. They were unsure of themselves. There was lack of self-confidence of tragic proportions. I’m not planning to go to the details of the match. It pointless and painful.
We are not going to win this league. And I don’t think we deserve to win either. It would be daylight robbery if Chelsea were to nick this title because we have not played like champions. We are not even playing like champions league contenders. Especially against top teams, we are running around like a mid-table team at best. Defence is nervous and error-prone. Midfield is clueless with possession and devoid of ideas. Attack lacks the killer instinct and cutting edge. Overall, the team is slow, plays unintelligent football and lacks heart. When we began this season, we were the #1 rated team in Europe. We can’t become so bad so soon.
I’ve not called for Scolari’s sacking so far. Here I am. Hoping for a change. With this Chelsea team, I’m all for giving time for Scolari. I’d give that time only for winning titles. You simply don’t have to give time to a world cup winning coach for making the #1 team in Europe to play well. Scolari has overstayed his welcome. He’s proved too many times now that he is not good enough. He has made mistakes, he has repeated, never learnt from them, repeated them again and in this process, lost the home league record, lost to each of the big four teams, two of them at home. Chelsea have become weaker and poorer under Scolari. That’s an undeniable truth. This is no longer just an opinion. This is the truth. Scolari is a very nice, well-mannered guy but I have to say Chelsea are going downhill with Scolari in charge.
So Liverpool does the double against Chelsea. Now that’s another record under Scolari. He’s had too many warnings, alarms and signals and all that we see is that the list is growing. Some of them have earned the tag of ‘firsts’ under Roman. Here is a quick look:
Home league record ended: Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool. The famous home league run of Chelsea FC, that spanned over four and a half seasons, ended in a very very meek fashion. Granted, Liverpool scored from a deflection but they should have scored more. They hit the bar a couple of times and they played like they wanted to win. On the other hand, Chelsea did not create one decent chance all match. When such records end, either it would be unfortunate or controversial. Our record ended in a very pathetic manner due to a pathetic performance.
Heaviest champions league defeat: AS Roma 3-1 Chelsea. This was the match, upon winning would have almost won the group for us. Roma were in disarray when they played us. We let three horrendously defended goals to mark the heaviest European defeat. Not even Barcelona could score three goals against us in their six matches against us, while we scored four against them in one match.
Heaviest premier league defeat to a rival: Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea. The last time Chelsea lost with a three-goal margin was in Feb 2006 against Middlesbrough away. That result was a freak one, not in a key match, not against a title rival and we had a healthy lead as cushion. We won the title in April that season. This time around, a very key match, against a title rival and the defeat was in unbelievably humiliating fashion.
Elimination from League Cup by Burnley: No way this could have been a defeat. Dominated possession, created chances but scored only one goal. And then typical of this new Chelsea, let the lead slip late in the second half. Another penalty shoot out and another sudden death. While I don’t understand why we can’t win shootouts, the real problem was our inability to finish off Burnley inside of 90 minutes.
Defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge: For many seasons, we had Arsenal’s number. Take this for a record. Arsene Wenger has never been able to beat Jose Mourinho. Last season under Grant, when we lost at Emirates, that was Wenger’s first win against Chelsea in many seasons. And this time, we lost to them at Stamford Bridge. We were lucky to get a lead from an own goal. And then once again, we let the lead slip. We allowed Arsenal to score twice in the second half at Stamford Bridge. One of them was offside but we created no decent chance at all.
Last day drama for champions league progress: For the first time, Roman had to wait until the last match day to see if Chelsea progresses to the knock out stages of the champions league. Our performance in the champions league group stages has been terrible despite the fact that we got a kind draw. Actually, we should have had a stroll to the first place. Even the last day win against Cluj was not without any drama. There were only 20 minutes left when we scored the winner.
I’ve not even talked about Southend forcing a replay, needing a stoppage time double to beat Stoke at home, our set piece woes etc. I have written two lengthy pieces on Scolari at Chelsea. One was how Chelsea have become weaker under Scolari and the other one the detailed analysis on the impact of Scolari on Chelsea. I still had a wee bit of hope that Scolari would still turn it around. Now I’m convinced that he is not the right man for Chelsea. I’m not saying that he should be sacked tomorrow morning. I’m just saying that he is not the right man for Chelsea. Period.
Can’t expect victories, when you start the same team every single day ..
BC – Please start an ONLINE PETITION FOR SACKING LFS. No a poll but a full on International Online Petition. We will help campaign it WORLDWIDE. It is the only way to save our club.
p.s: Please support this post if you agree to this.
The ref was so unfair this game.Lampard didnt even deserve a yellow card, but the a****le reff gave him red.
I agree that the decision on lampard was unfair…way unfair. but come to think of it, what had we achieved, when lampard was on the pitch?
what is wrong with chelsea’s attack?! why are we playing like this…. guys around me just keep booing me for the way chelsea play these days.
Mike Riley cost us points (be it 1 or 3) – that Red Card was a horrid call.
Here’s to the FA Cup… the only silverware left we have a relistic shot at winning.
=(
i agree… partially. malouda should be the first to go. rest.. im not so sure of
i agree… partially. malouda should be the first to go. rest.. im not so sure of
I disagree, LFS should be the first to go , for god knows what he sees in Malouda and Anelka. Will he now drop Malouda and Anelka for couple of games just like he does for didier.
guys it think it was ok game till sending match was over with sending who knows what have happened with 11 men vs 11 men dont blame scolari yet 4 this one yes other defeat were his fault not this one
3 things/shouts, Fuk u Mike Riley, Fuk u Mike Riley, and fuk u Mike Riley.
Just keep it up Phil(I like to call him phil because it means elephant in Turkish) with Alex. You are digging your own grave. Its really sad that I now have so much embitterment for Chelsea team I once cheered for. Its all because of bastard Scolari and his treatment of Ivanovic.
not disappointed this time actually, as i hadn´t expected a win, although i had prayed for it. It hurts and hurts bad, and every season and then we are on a downhill. Don´t know whom to blame, RA, Kenyon, Scolari, his staffs or players? May be everybody is responsible for today´s result. But this is what makes a club, and it should learn from its mistakes.
This is getting unbearable now, I feel so ashamed atm. Good way of putting it BC, a Chelsea team toothless in attack, spineless in defense and clueless in midfeild (Besides Lamps), we should be ahsamed of ourselves, 25 shots on goal by Liverpool and 8 by Chelsea, 9 shots on target by Liverpool and 3 by us haha!! Oh how the mighty have fallen, is this the Chelsea we have known over the past 5 years?? When was the last time we were simply toyed around with like this, oh wait Utd humbled us less than a month ago. Arsenal beat us at home, Liverpool broke our 86 games unbeaten home record and all in just one season, under a world cup winner lol what a joke!! I haven’t called for Scolari’s head till now but this is getting ridiculous by the week he has to go, he’s not Chelsea manager caliber at all, we are the laughing stock of the world, a team that dominated the EPL with an iron fist and made life difficult for one of the best teams in the world (UTD) and look at us now, beaten on will by determined teams and the worst part is with UTD winning the next game we will be 8 points behind them, so just say goodbye to the title for the 3rd year running, atleast we still had our pride last season when we almost won 3 cups, but this season it wudn’t surprise me if we end up 5th or 6th in the table (trust me im not being sarcastic). The honeymoon period Scolari had in the PL by winning 5-0 came to an end a long time ago and since then LFS had countless chances to prove himself, but so far zilch and things are going to get worse, No Lamps for Hull, Watford and worst of all ASTON VILLA. I have no more hope or faith left in LFS at all, for the 2nd time this season we conceded 2 goals in the matter of 2 mins, a once world class defense can now be shattered on will. This is simply painfull man, I really can’t take this anymore, this is not my chelsea, this is not the club I idolised, these are not the players whom I have worshipped over the years. Brace yourselves Chelsea heads, the impending doom in ineviteble!!
Its time Scholari u sit up or else we will hunt u.
Where is Michael Essien the working booo. OMG we need you now at the mieldfield.
My money just went just like that Schoalri
Dark day for us…or wait, every day this season has been pretty much dark for us (barring the deceptive start that we had). Looks like everything is going against us for even contesting for the title (ref. to the crazy red-card )…Premier League looks like a faded dream, now to Fully concentrate on Champions League…Oh who am i kidding, FA Cup ? Dont think so…trophyless season I guess…now I know what Arsene Wenger must be feeling like..Sigh…Dark day indeed.
SACK SCOLRI SELL MAULDO HOW COME WE DON’T EVEN HAVE AREAL CHANCE THE WHOLD 90MIN
BALL POSS 80% TO 20% AS IF THEY PLAYED WITH STOKE?>>
Did Rafa Benitez criticize Sir Alex for intimidating this referee, in particular, in the past?
hey guys stop blaming scolari 4 this defeat i dont think he is responsible 4 this did u listen to andy gray liverpool didnt kept cech that
busy before sending off yes did make saves but they were routine saves. scolari is to blame 4 other 3 defeats yes not his it was mike riley to blame
alonso fouled lamps lamp won ball fair and square i dont think we would have taken anelka off and both would have played i think this
might have drawn yesterday would chelsea have gotten penalty manu got i dont think so . i thought they defended well till last few minutes
no goals from setpieces conceded 11 vs 10 liverpool with torres would have scored but we were unluck this was a bizzare sending off
i now hope that manu suffer now hope zola and clarke give chelsea some hope next week and rem westham have good record at upton park over united i dont they were clueless in defence 90 times who knows what would have happened in those minutes
I wonder why phil being a coach cant see the players he has , imagine having ballack, lampard, deco, mikel, joe cole, kalou as your midfielders,Drogba,Anelka for your strikers, terry,Ivanovich, bossie and ashley cole as your defenders and you cant beat teams hmm , we over the years were saying Drogba should go but we must know al these players are top class and if you cant use them well they are waste, Drogba for one is still top class even Anelka , why does he always want to play four midfielders Deco, lampard, ballack, Mikel you see this makes the players touch and touch on short passes without any adventure but if he were to play Drogba and Anelka up front with Lampard Ballack(deco) in central midfield trust me chelsea can do something he is so senseless and does not know anything even avram knew better believe me if Avram had Bossie to paly that position he would have won the champions league with chelsea its only because he just had to always use Essien there Big phil you suck we must sack him , when he had to chance to bring in a free transfer player he brought in a player who he knows he cant even use when he could have even gotten appiah please lets sack this man I know we really have lost the league but please lets sack him for maybe Hiddink so we can progress in champs league
hey jaz lamps will play all those because chelsea will appeal and i m 10000% sure chelsea will win appeal because it wasnt even a yellow card
Hi there! Let me quote from the Angry Video Game Nerd: “this game s*cks”, “f*** rats”, “f*** farts”
OK, calm down. I’ve become really really disappointed at/with Luiz Felipe Scolari! (at the moment I don’t know the right preposition, but neither he does) Maybe his English is the problem? He was/ought to be a confident trainer! He said in an interview that he knows how to win the finals that Chelsea missed last year. Deco was brilliant at the beginning, he won the match for us against Wigan, everyone praised him. Now his game sux, Chelsea plays slow and no one really wanted to win, did they? I just remember 2 occasions when (in spite of the fact that we had only 10 men) we could’ve scored when the boys had run up front.
I was optimistic, but now I say OK, the Premiere League title is over. I hope at least we win the FA Cup and the Champions League, or at least we reach the Final. But the FA Cup has to come!
Quotes from what I am reading on the BBC: “But they can have no complaints about the result after Liverpool dominated throughout taking the game to Chelsea…” “Liverpool were the hungrier side from the first whistle…” “Chelsea’s best performers were all in defence…” “Liverpool had hardly been sparkling, but at least they showed attacking intent while Chelsea offered nothing in the way of a threat…”. A 2-0 loss is bad enough. A 2-0 as per down to 10 men on a questionable red card is even worse. But a 2-0 loss because a team did not have the nerve to match the opponent head on with a desire to win is an atrocity.
As per the fact that Chelsea has been unable to get a win against the other teams in the top four (wait, we did beat Villa once), I say we play Di Santo, Stoch, and any other young gun for the rest of the season and get them ready for the 2009-2010 season. With any luck, we may hold off the Gooners and Villians and stay in the top four.
OMFG BC-Just finished watching “the Horror” match of the year. Does suffering pay back. That something that I tell to myself when things don’t look good. But some suffering aint paying back right now. In other words Chelsea u got some shit to do.We were umbeatible at home., now we are Crap. there’s no other word to describe u right now. As for the lose today, I definitely need some drugs. Oh and my brother predicted that some shit was gonna happen today, his the Nostradamus of football. (shit) He doesn’t watch footy BTW. (thanks God)
It’s time for Mr Roman to wake up and open both his eyes. Scolari is not the right man for the post. Chelsea was one of the best and strong team during Mourinho era but now they are just rubbish team. Why? Roman had made a big mistaked by letting Mourinho left. He was one of the best manager in the world. Does scolari is better than him? Hahaha….. poor roman
ALEX WAS MAN OF THE MATCH.
It is now obvious we dont have the pact to compete in EPL. WE need wingers, but DI maria, and Ribery, trade DD for Robinho. WE NEED PACE.
CHELSEA pace<Manchester,Liverpool,Arsenal,Villa and Totenham.
we were a bunch of losers today and just defended like shit and allow them bombard us the whole game ! scolari , kenyon , Abram i want to say “Fuc*k You” all for this. you destroyed our team with sacking TSO. where is that chelsea that our rivals pissed in thier pants! now we’re pissin in ours and get fuc*ked every time ! you made us ppls others ridicule and make fun of us , you fuc*ked every single record we had , you put us backward , you didn’t left anything so far so your mission accomplished , over. fuck off bastard.
best sentence to describe our team, new same chelsea CLUELESS AND SPINELESS. apart from the red card which was unfair to us, we did not even know what to do with ball, no pressure on the keeper, no troubling the defenders… this is a shame and cannot be more disappointed with LFS…..NO TACTICAL ABILITY AT ALL.
going forward, i have prepared my mind for a maximum 3rd finish at the end of the season and God help us in champions league and the FA CUP.
SACK SCOLARI……….HE SUCK. ROMAN IF YOU CAN’T DO SOMETHING JUST SELL THE CLUB TO THE ARAB. CHELSEA IS GETTING WORST AND FALLING DOWN….FALLING DOWN…..FALLING DOWN.
I think we all missed Avram now…hahaha! Not to mention Mourinho, but AG did make Chelsea looked dangerous and scarry to all the team in EPL when he took the job. Now, under LFS, all the oppositions are fearless towards Chelsea. So, for all those of you who wanted AG to be sacked previously, now eat your word. I am too upset about what happened to CHelsea but what can we do? For God sake, just put AG back, and Chelsea will be saved, and EPL will go down the wire once again, and this time we will win CHampions League and the FA cup.
god damn chelsea and god damn THE bloody pschyotuc refreee…………..tht bloody sob!!!…ruined the game for us…..
dont get me wrong and think chelsea were awesome with him….but these was still some hope…!!!!
i am tired beaten and sad…..dont know what to say……just feel INFURIATED!!!!,,,,,,,,our team must be feelin like..as if they are being stripped and gettin whip lashed…!!!!…
I agree with cj ….we need to sign a petetion and send it to the club…..i cant understand why the damn stamford bridge fans dont hold out a strike…..!!!!…why the heck arent they as passionate as liverpoo fans,,( look wht they did last year when rafa was almost sacked)…
Hold out a protest…….Bloody show roman and his men if they dont care we still care!!!…..and want a change……….
in these hard economic times….where one should spend even a penny thinkin 100….times…
i suggest we do somethin and get mournhio back……If we immediate results ….immediate changes…Thats wht we need..We can spend in the transfer window no problem……this team is still his…..it still showes glimpses of wht he built….which now is fading away fast…..and a like time bomb will self desturct……!!!…..
Get mourinho back …thats all thts comes to my mind…………..!!!! PLEASE get him back……none of us here can take this humilation anymore,,,….
what was wrong with the passing today. the whole team was passing the ball like amateurs! it was evident that something is very wrong with the whole outlook of this chelsea side. it seems like nobody is questioning scolari’s tactics….
i would say that we stick to scolari till the end of the season, if he still cant make chelsea finish 2nd, sack him, coz thats enough tolerance we’ve shown towards him.
I’m sure a lot of Arabians worldwide were humored by Bosingwa’s Jew-kicking antics. The FA will not be amused however; expect Belletti/Ferreira to take his place in the upcoming 3 matches.
If AG did in 8 months what JM could not do in 3 years, LFS has outdone them all in 7 months what nobody else could do in the Abramovich era:
-> Losing at home in the Premier League (and losing our home unbeaten streak) – twice!
-> Losing quality players like Bridge, Cudicini to rival clubs. I’m sure that LFS’s insistence on playing his full-strength squad for almost every game has to a certain extent caused Bridge and Cudicini to leave.
-> Getting knocked out by League One minnows in the Carling Cup.
-> Taking a miserable 1 point from 5 games against the other big three with an overall scoreline of 2-9.
-> Causing so much unrest among players; Alex is unhappy, Ivanovic and Drogs wants to leave, Carvalho dropped because he criticized the zonal marking system, Anelka sulking at being dropped against MU, the list goes on and on. LFS’s absurd remark on trading four players for Robinho doesn’t help either.
I know that it will be very counter-productive (and costly) to sack Scolari so soon, but I feel that he is doing so much more harm than good – he should leave if we fail to finish top 4 this season.
ALEX the best of chelsea !! LOL
FUCK YOUR SELF SCOLARI !!!
Grant is better than scolari but Mourinho is more better than both.Surely chelsea is going down and who is to blame.Sir Alex was right saying most of Chelsea player are too old and they should replace with younger one.Scolari should replace. He isn’t the right man for chelsea.
Big Phil’s won stuff? Read this from CFCNet:
My head’s spinning right now!
Wow! I just noticed that we are tied on points with Aston Villa. We’re in third only because of our goal difference. The match at Villa Park on Feb 21 would be the key! Looks like anything could happen!
I used to be chelsea fan since mourinho chelsea manager. Now i think i should find the new club to support because chelsea isn’t good as before.I won’t spend any penny for chelsea anymore. They ve suck manager.Scolari is bullshit and goodbye chelsea.

Some one questioned earlier, would Scolari have won the world cup if he didn’t have Rivaldo, Ronado and Ronaldinho .. With them, I think even Paul Jewell would have won the world cup .
I love to be hated, but I don’t want Chelsea to appeal for Lampard’s red card or if appealed , I don’t even want his red card overturned. That guy needs rest and he is not going to get because he is going to play 90 minutes again with Hull, Watford and Aston Villa etc . There is no way we will win EPL and it is not correct also if we will win the EPL because we don’t deserve to win .. I don’t think we will win the CL , but If we progress we will make atleast some money to buy in summer and So I need fit motivated lampard to play against Juventus .
This may result us in dropping points over the next three weeks, because without lampard, I don’t know who will score.
After losing one player to red card today, I think he took a cool 10 min to make a substitution. He should have gone for a defensive sub first and try to save the game and then introduce attacking options in the last 10 mins. Here is what I don’t understand, Foolishingly, he brought a defensive sub against everton in the 80 + min, when we should gone for win and today he brings Stoch over Kalou..
I know it is not possible for Mourinho to come, may not be possible for Grant . Can I ask for Steve Clarke atleast .

We are all disappointed at this time, but if you are simply a “front runner” go support ManU. Off you go, mate. We’ll sort it out.
So i told you So
If RA still has some spirit left in him for this game and this club he should bring AG back
Does any one know about the new champions league rules. With this year onwards, the top three teams qualify and the fourth team has to play the team in Spain or Italy . Is that true ??? Can anyone knowledgable throw more light.
If so I doubt, we will be able to defeat and proceed into group stage of champions league.
It’s time for Mr Roman to wake up and open both his eyes.
The question here is is he even noticing? How mnay times this season have you seen the camera shots of him in the stands? I haven’t seen him at a game in months. And this was a guy who couldn’t shut up when JM was in charge, tellign him how to manage. Now.. I don’t see hide nor hair of Roman. That worries me more in some ways that LFS coaching ability.

Amen to that SW6 – ManU is nothing but 80% ‘front runner fans’ and I’m hoping this Adam kid is just young – cuz if he doesn’t have age to hide behind that sort of comment then he should seriously take off the blue kit all together.
BC I would just like to quote you on this: “Scolari has overstayed his welcome. He’s proved too many times now that he is not good enough. well said good bye ADAM …..!!
Replying to Nick: OOOH NIck you are so right.. 1 fucking point!!!! 1
cant belice the coaching of scolari. and mike riley could send of gerrard 5 times in the game. i hope he quits. hope the headhunters show him the way out. and to not put drogba in the game from start that is dissrespectfull. i want him ouuuuuuuuuuuuut.
Peter Kenyon we need direct attacking players with pace!!! … clearly you dont any players
here is a list : Yuri Zhirkov, Ben Arfa, Robhino, Quaresma, Diego, Silva, Di Maria, Diego Cappel, Bastian, Kroos, Podolski, Arshavin, Messi, Appiah, Ribery, Lahm, (r.madird LB- Marcelo), Ramos, Roben, Young, Tevez, … the list can go on and on.. but you get the picture…
buy Joe Hart from city, get back steve clarke, jose… if not jose, mancine…. if not mancine Rjkaard. we need a manager with European pedigree !!! a true tactician .. oh way thats jose!!
we need 2 killer strikers!!!
we need to sack LFS this is a fact!!!
the beats thing at the gam was bosingwas kick
I said it before and I say it now once more – IT IS NOT SCOLARI – it is the PLAYERS !
They are clueless- no skill ,can’t pass more than 2 passes forward .The midfield -the engin of any team doesn’t exist.
The game was won by Liverpool midfield superiority. What a different in class and ability.
Maluda- besides having new hair style -nothing else is new.
Drogba- can’t stop a ball without losing it.Can’t pass the ball (has no sensetivity in his legs)-they should have sold him this January-another mistake.
Lampard? his passes were terrible ,not once he got it to the target man.
Balak was like a rooster -didn’t know which side he supposed to attack.
BC – You talke about plan – what plan? – this is nonesens. If there is no midfield no plan will work !!
It is time you guys stop blaming Scolari- He is not playing the game – The player do ,and they can’t play against a suprior quality players in every aspect of the game.
Just remember what you people said last year – let me remind you : WITH THESE PLAYERS YOU DON’T NEED A MANAGER.
Well you were wrong or at least you addmit it now you were wrong -otherwise you wouldn’t blame Scolari .
I saw it coming and I predicted last year that CFC will not finish in the top 4 with these guys. I may still be right.
You can bring any other manager – he won’t change anything – these guys are finished !
It is time to let go of any ambition to capture a title this year and start total renovation of this team -UNDER SCOLARI- He knows what he wants
but doesn’t have the tools to do it with(the players). The sooner the better.I actually feel sorry for the guy .
best*
It hurts me, I really mean that. Since I’ve become a massive Chelsea fan, I have never experienced something like this for a long time. I am calling for a big change this summer. Scolari should go. In fact, I would not be surprised if he sacked tomorrow morning. I really feel sorry for him. As a world champion, I can’t imagine how shameful it is for him to go through such a dark period in his well-decorated career. Now we understand that Roman has chosen someone who has no European football experience or PL experience was a real gamble no matter how good CV Scolari’s got. I believe there is a really big difference between a good coach and a good tactician/manager. Scolari may be a good coach. But he is certainly not a good manager. I don’t think there is anyone in Europe as good as Jose Mourinho in terms of management/tactical skills.
Chelsea needs a change. I am not only talking about a manager but I can’t see some of Chelsea’s current players playing in Chelsea shirt next season. Drogba must go. I think he has no interest of playing for Chelsea. It seems like even Scolari can’t motivate Drogba. Drogba is one of the best if he wants to be. He was an outstanding in some occasions last season. I just think Kenyon told Drogba that he will allow him to leave if you help us win PL or CL trophy last season. We didn’t win anything and Chelsea couldn’t get a replacement for Drogba in the summer so he needed to endure another season with this team. I want him to leave. He deserves to end his career in happy mood somewhere else he desperately wants to.
We need younger players. I can’t see the likes of Anelka, Malouda, Deco, Drogba or Ballack playing for us next season. These are the players who should/must go. We will have an enough experienced players in Cech, A,Cole, Terry, Lampard, Mikel, Kalou, Essien, J.Cole next season. If we add some fresh new hungry players to those experienced players plus if someone like Raikaard or Mancini or even Hiddink arrives, real Chelsea will be back.
I want to see someone like S.Aguero, Benzema, Ribery, Diego or even Kaka. I wish we retained Robben 2 years ago. Look at how he is playing now for Real Madrid.
Replying to Blue_M:
scolari sucks. avram grant won liverpool in cl. im not saying the players are at the best but still drogba is better than anelka. why on the bench? and the system he plays dosnt work. he cant change it.
when mourinho started at inter he bought 2 fast wingers so he could play 4-3-3. it diddnt work for inter after 4 games he changed system and now they are top of the league. that is real managing
Common, Why ? If it is not Scolari , is Roman asking him to start with Maluoda . He could have even started with Stoch and suprised everyone. Belleti & Franco were not even in the 18. In the first 45 min, clearly we were going for draw. So he could have even started with a defensive 4-2-3-1 formation, with Mikel and belleti/Ivanovic in holding midfield and then lamp/ballack/kalu in attacking midfield and drogba upfront and gone for more attack sub later..
We are calling for Scolari sacking , because he doesn’t have or know any tactics .He knows 4-1-4-1 and with that you can win a match or two but no cups in europe. Even today, everyone can talk the team he is going to start against Sunderland on the final match day.
Frank rijkaard may go to Milan in Summer, so any time before is good option. I think even Zola/clarke is good since we have gone trophyless for 2 years, we may go one more…
that money we got as compensation for steve clarke, we could use it to pay off scolari!!… right……?!

Your comment just prove my point!
You come up with some oldi and youngsters (with no experience)that Scolari sees day in day out and knows what they can contribute.
Do you think he knows less than you about the capabilities of Beleti,Ivanovic,Stoch and Franco?
If he uses them and lose you will blame him for doing it .He is in no win situation with you guys.
No- Scolari has good eyes for players quality(that why he prefer Anelka over Drogba) and with all his limitations he beleive Maluda is still better than these two youngsters. And from what I have seen so far he is right.Yet all these guys are not EPL quality.
Beletti should have gone last year! He contribute nothing to the game and his call up are mostly defensive oriented(ok he scored the other day-but that a rare ocassion).
Do you really beleive Scolari doesn’t know what you know as far as coaching and format is concerened? Lol ,you must be a child to think so.
Scolari is trying to play an attacking football with midfield controlling the flow of the game(that why he brought Deco- yet this guy can’t adjust to the speed of the game).Unfortunately the players he has are unable to deliver. The midfield of CFC is so weak that no wonder we are unable to produce decent attack. There is no farward passing what so ever.
Yet that the best he has to offer.
I don’t think Scolari was going for a draw ! He knew he had to win.
Unfortunately Liverpool is a much better team than CFC those days.
As I said no other manger can chage it – it is the players which most of them are over the hill now – Fergi was right with his observation.
sad but true.

My friend, Scolari was the person who told he will win the quadrable with this team. After Scolari had come, he went on selling players and now we don’t even have a bench strength.
If you will never get experience, if you don’t play. What prevented Scolari from playing youngsters , when we were leading 3-0 etc during the initial months, couldn’t he find a place for starting eveb one youngster even in a carling cup game against a chamionship side.
I may not know much more than Scolari but I am suprised why Scolari doesn’t even try .. even when he had game in bag already ..
That shows to me that he never thought of that rainy day .
Every team has youngster and old players – Giggs played much much better than anyone against chelsea and he is 36 years old. but Fergie is wise enough to play him every game and he even plans much ahead of time . Welbeck , John Evans, Rafael da silva every one was give a chance. He even had the guts to start Evans at Stamford bridge.
Simple plain fact – Rafa did not start with Xavi, kuyt or rierra in the mid week game for them to focus today. That is where Scolari is lacking. Atleast by know , he should know every one can’t start every game . I did not expect it from him in the start because he came from the country management style where you just play one game a month or with 7 games you win a cup..
Again not me or any one blogging here might know better than Scolari but then you are not paid 6 MM just for nothing.
Well the ‘morrow has come !
Mr Scolari whatcha gonna do now ?
we want to buy toni kroos 18 years of age and highly talented player who won best young player for the previous year…..just check his goals in youtube…specially the goal against italy u19…
best sentence to describe our team, new same chelsea CLUELESS AND SPINELESS. apart from the red card which was unfair to us, we did not even know what to do with the ball, no pressure on the keeper, no troubling the defenders… this is a shame and I THINK SCOLARY HAS NO TACTICAL ABILITY AT ALL. HE SHOULD LEAVE CFC HONOURABLY I DON’T KNOW WHAT PETER K AND ROMAN WERE THINKING WHEN THEY SIGNED A COACH WITH NO EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE,NO SHOT ON TERGET FOR 75 MINUTES THAT IS THE WORST SOCCER MATCH I HAVE WATCHED IN DECADES.I THINK THIS MAN SCOLARY IS JUST TELLING THE BOYS JUST PASS THE BALL AROUND DON’T BOTHER TO SCORE WE ARE AN ENTERTAINING TEAM NOW.HE SHOULD GO,STANFORD BRIDGE FANS SHOULD BOYCUT SOME MATCHES AND FORCE THIS MAN TO LEAVE CFC.I GUESS WE SHOULD LOOK FOR MORE SERIOUS CLUBS TO SUPPORT OR BETTER MR ROMAN SELL CFC TO THE ARABS SO WE CAN BUY NEW PLAYERS COS I DONT SEE U REVIVING THIS TEAM IN THE SUMMER..CHEERS GUYS I AM OFF TO MANUNITED …!!!!!

today I have lost faith in scolari
yes the ref was appalling, yes we had 10 men, but we are chelsea
The one time we really troubled liverpool was after lampard was sent off and I am certain had he of been on the pitch, he would of scored the ball which rolled accross the box.
What really bothered me, was the refusal of players to push up the field, even when drogba came in, a few long balls with kalou and ballack pushing up would have opened up the game entirely
the two goals liverpool scored were well taken, Alex lost sight of torres for a split second, had he followed him from the beginning, he probably could of stopped it, but I was very content with his performance
the second goal came from a mistake from ashley, under any other manager I would of expected a clearance but scolari seems to have a thing about keeping the ball in play
with the injuries and off-form players we have, I was surprised with the line up today, why not play a 4-4-2, I would of started drogba and kalou, played stoch on the left, ballack on the right with lampard and mikel holding the central midfield
the problems we are having surpass the loss of clarke, surpass the slowing squad, the failure to replace lost players, the fact is, scolari isn’t quite right, I do want to see what he can deliver in the off season but if he carries on with the computer game style of same 11 day in day out, there is no point. Yes, we do need some players, yes others need to leave but it all starts with the top. In truth I expected rijkaard to get the job, not sure he is the best of characters but he would of been better suited for us, look at what he has done for barca.
Im certain the season will be trophyless, there is no chance on earth of finishing top, I’m sure we will finish second, liverpool may have beaten all the other members of the big four, but they are losing and drawing with the other 16 which has and will continue to cost them as it always does. Sacking scolari now isn’t right for the squad, to be honest, im not sure many could answer the question, heck, why don’t we get Steve Clarke in as manager
esieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen come back soon come back soon
chelsea need u ur our best player we need hope we beat juve he is our answer to the woes he can help us in champs league
essien as an attacking midfielder he can play as right winger as well right back as well but best place central he was main reason 4 success
last 2 season
maka loss has big in big games i know he was old but he had 1or 2 yrs in him
last seson champs league fina and semi l agaist liverpool he played well he was still a player who could play well till 65min atlest could have utilised as essien was mising
mikel could have rested tooo he would have fresh he would have a competition as well he allows us to attack better knowing we have an assurance at the back mikel doesnt give that assurance in big games
we could have used him spraningly as well mikel still has to devolop more to be a great threat to teams he still cant stop great players consitently
Absolutely atrocious. I don’t want to reiterate what everyone has already said, but I’m with everyone by saying that it’s Scolari’s time to man up and acknowledge he’s not the right fit for Chelsea. And I tip my hat to Bosingwa. He was as frustrated as I was. Also, while I know it wouldn’t have made a difference, the red card for Lamps was complete bullshit.
I look forward to seeing how the club will respond to this during the week. I hope someone takes responsibility.
for this match….we cant balme scolari….though our attack was clueless b4 the sent off but we still manage to keep possession at times…outr attack is a problem though…liverpool becomes more aggressive and we lost out in tt…but if chelsea were to be more aggressive…the ref will show more cards to chelsea…(ref dun like chelsea)…for eg…gerrard should have been sent off…alonso should have been penalised for the foul on lampard instead of lampard being sent off…ashley cole yellow card was too harsh….these are all evidence to the treatment of officials on chelsea….FA must look into this…
what aload of rubbish
the passed liked they were in atraining seesion
and BALLACK was he there ? I saw a few if not every errant pass and half hearted tackles like a gunshy ballet queen
You pt it exactly the way I would have put it. It was an absolutely spineless. For me who had not seen the last few Chelsea matches since the ManU defeat(I was out of town) this was a real shocker. I had read reports of Chelsea getting better with 4 wins and then this. What a pathetic performance in a game of such importance! Though the ref was probably drunk when he gave a red card to Lampard, I don’t think we can even give that as an excuse. Before he was sent off there was simply NO PLAN. Just look at the way Liverpool attacked with penetration testing our goalkeeper. Thats because they had a plan. Once they got the ball they had players popping up all around them to pass. You had players making clever and risky runs. For once, Liverpool wanted to win the game. And it is astounding that Chelsea didn’t even go for a goal. I’m utterly shocked.
Andy Gray mentioned at half time that this performance was similar to Chelsea’s performance @ ManU except the goals. Atleast for all our disinterest and lack of gameplan we could have drawn. Infact I spent the last 10 mins of the match doing the utterly shameful thing of hoping Liverpool would win. Because a draw would have finished off the title race. Atleast now there is one. The blame should go to Scolari. Hell, we reached a Champions League final with the same squad but a better Drogba!! If he thinks the squad is bad then bring out a better game plan… Sucks…. Sack him. Period
AND GDBYE TO THOSE PSEUDO CHELSEA FAN….U ALL SUPPORT CHELSEA WHEN THEY ARE WINNING AND CHANGE CLUB DURING THEIR BAD TIMES… NVM CHELSEA DUN NEED SUCH FANS….
Scolari is, and has been for a long time, Architect-in-chief of the agonising decline of Chelsea Football Club from League, League Cup and Champions League runners up, and generally one of the best and most feared teams in the world, into the timid, gutless, heartless, soulless, disjointed media circus we witnessed get deservedly taken to bits at Anfield yesterday. We’ve regressed ten years.
THIS IS FACT!!!
SOCLARI JUST GO!!!!!
He destroyed chelsea ,even raniery was better than him.Every record that TSO had gained for us,he destroyed it in fucking 3 months
cricicise scolari as much as u want at the end if we dont win at the end of season dont ask 4 his sacking now wait till end look facup
and champs league are still alive and with essien back soon he will drive us on to atlest 1 trophy and good champs league run
look champs league is different story look at liverpool in ucl they play it well hope barca ko liverpool and we can still reach semis just need to beat
juve at bridge and draw at turin and with 100 essien we can beat anyone look essien allows us to play different formation as he is multiutility
player
as 4 epl now aston villa clash is a do or die battle 4 us to finish 2 or 3rd hopefully second over to zola and clarke to resue any hope 4 epl otherwisw epl is almost over 4 chelsea
Looks like I’m the last person to realize this, but we have been reduced to just another good club, no longer a world power team. We’ve still got to play Aston Villa and Arsenal (both away) so if we continue to collapse we may miss out on the Champions League next season, and that would be an absolute disaster.
There’s nothing to say, everyone else pretty much posted the general feeling of all Chelsea fans. I don’t know what is going to happen with this team or what Roman is planning to do. The only thing I do know is that I love Chelsea, and always will. I’ll take on all the abuse from other teams fans, I’m Chelsea till I die.
Carefree!
I’ll remain a chelsea fan however long it takes….and you know what…the only thing we can do now is sit ,hope and rot…..No one is going to listen to us…just imagine how good it would have been if they could…i’m sure we all have a piece of our minds for them to digest on…and by popular vote…Go back scolari to where u came from!…ur just soo unlucky for us..!!
I think alex was our saving grace!
Well, well, well. I have always been one not quick to criticize managers, least of all Felipao. However, Felipao seems like a different manager from what we were made to believe. What happened to the tough, passionate manager the media fed us. His teams keeps passing the ball to no effect. He is reluctant to try new things on the pitch if something is not working. Gradually the team has lost its physical edge. They r always bullied in the big matches and somehow the tension seems to get to his players in all big matches. He does generate confidence. His prematch interviews are always about praising the opponent. His post-match interviews are always about our mistakes and how he will have meetings and meetings. i agree Chelsea are in transition that is why i thought Felipao could have been the best manager around to have steered round this bend. I had always been in the corner of those who said Grant should have stayed on. However fans like us should perhaps shoulder a bit of the blame. Fans on this forum continually hounded this man out. We got a proven manager and well, here we r. I predict a major change this summer, i am only praying Roman still stays on. If Felipao feels he can no longer take the team forward he should just come forward and say so, cos i hate to see him sacked. That would not even speak well of Chelsea. If he does leave i recommend the coach of Hoffenheim. i have seen his team play over the course of this season and i definitely think he is the one for Chelsea. else get Rijkaard.
About the referees, well most of these referees are fans of some of these teams with longer histories. Referees like Riley, Webb, Clattenburg and co all have their teams they support and it shows in their matches. Anyone seen how referees are quick to show Chelsea players the red card? John Terry against Man Citeh, John Terry against Everton, Lampard against Liverpool. Funny how Xabi Alonso, thedirtiest player in the EPL always gets people sent off.
matblue…i agree wif u completely…but i think scolari should be given the transfer he needs and at least till end of season
i think refs are already more strict with chelsea…the whole match liverool players were more aggressive but chelsea get carded upon a slightest challenge.
Replying to Jo: Yeah Jo.. i realized there were some front runner fans writing up there.. well i suppose we don’t even need them.. those front runner fans will not bring any good to any other team anyway.. Those faggots pretend to be team’s fan while we’re at the top, and jump to other teams’ bandwagon (all of the sudden) when we’re low..
p/s – I agree with MatBlue generally.. As usual, good post BC..keep it up
Chelsea look like they have no real system or only half of one on the pitch.
That’s why we were ouplayed from the start and also Liverpool were shooting at our goal again and again knowing our weaknesses
With 10 players its perfectly possible to get a draw if the strategy was spot on, unfortunately looks like the whatever strategy that was supposed to be, it wasn’t told to the players well enough or drilled enough on the training ground.
Our players are some of the best in the world :
Therefore it’s Scolari’s fault !
Eerily I did not need a consoling drink after the game ( haven’t needed one for some time now ), just a steely look in the eye and went to bed.
Fuck Mike Riley.. Fuck Xabi Alonso.. Xavi now more than C. Ronaldo which always gets people sent off… Fuck u both..
Hey guys, why do you talk about buying new players? Scolari doesn’t need even the most of what he has got now… 12-13 players is enough to play all the matches in PL, CL, FA Cup, etc…
What a stupid moron. This is not World Championship with 7 games, this is a season with 50 games! Now he can see what happens when 30-year-old guys are forced to play everything, including a mid-week FA Cup game against Southend. Moreover, why Stoch is put on the pitch to turn things round when he is not good enough to be started even against Division One team? What Scolari expects him to do then?
To do mistakes is human, to do the same mistakes again and again is unforgivable. Let Scolari go and bring back Chelsea.
im gutted! i thought this wud be the starting point of our comeback but we’ve screwed it :(
A brother ,in the Independent News comment section, made my day with this comment:
”
The Premier League is undoubtedly the most successful Football League in the world. We hope it stays longer.
Before the Germany 2006 World Cup, I sent a desperate email to Brian Woolnough of the Daily Star warning him to lay off Chelsea and concentrate on the Sunday League standard of refereeing in the Premiership. As usual, when a man is blinded to the truth only a debacle such as the one Graham Poll suffered during the Australia v Croatia match will bring him round.
A constant media bashing against Chelsea has resulted in the general hatred for the Club, for the cause of such a label Mourinho was sacked but the stigma still remains.
Some referees have gone to the extent of proving their prejudice towards the Chelsea football Club, a Premiership referee once told Terry “you lot must be put in order”. Key decisions by referees have caused Chelsea trophies and some titles over the years.
These are a few:
2005:Liverpool v Chelsea(uefa Champions League,2nd leg,semi-finals), Luis Garcia’s comic goal
2006 Liverpool end Chelsea(FA Cup semi-final) Graham awarded a comic free-kick in a danger zone for Liverpool’s first.
2006:Chelsea v Barca(Uefa Champions League 2nd rd)Del Horno’s purposeful sending off. Barcelona never won against Chelsea with 11 men finishing a full 90minutes game on each side for ages. Each time Barca wins a man from Chelsea must be sent off.
2007:Man Utd v CHELSEA(League game) Mikel sent off and not to talk about last year and all the two seasons Chelsea couldn’t win the League.
2007:Newcastle v Chelsea(a clear penalty which against was waived play on by referee, two points dropped in the League run-in.
I am yet to witness if the FA will charge Bosingwa for the petulant Kung-fu kick at Yossi Benayoun against Liverpool and how that is different from Wayne Rooney’s ferocious hand swing at Amdy Faye at the Britania stadium this season, Stoke had a man sent off and United won by a lone goal. Cristiano Ronaldo has kicked players against Villa, Arsenal and Spurs during off-the-ball incidents. Who dare touch the red devils? There is a Knight leading their charge for an elusive title, Elusive! it will be as long as my desire for Football still burns. Chelsea to win the League(2008/2009 season).
Chelsea might have got some decisions their way but not in key situations. One team has got extremely vital decisions their for years now, you wonder if the LAWS OF PROBABILITY are nothing but a mechanism used to soothe the pains of deprived victims. For how long will it take for this football nonsense to stop so we can have a League with less controversy and more credibility.
Some Man Utd fans had the nerve to say “fergie will be judged as a great manager by the number of trophies in he’s won”. I say, records always paint the obvious picture but history and thinkers will always provide the actual story behind the picture. The world and ordinary Americans had enormous respect for Wall Street until the Credit Crunch struck. After which, Wall Street were seen and regarded as greedy pigs who were only interested in “fat cheques” and not the welfare of the people and economy. Time will tell if some managers desired the betterment of the game or personal glory. There is a proverb that says “the exact length of a frog is known after it’s dead”.
Alan Wiley! go on refereeing like that with your colleagues and keep sending off the Robinsons(West Brom, Wilkinsons(Stoke), Zabaletas(Man city), Palacioses(Wigan) etc.
There is Someone definitely watching from up there. I strongly believe in Angels and Divine Justice.
Ciao!!!
Last time Liverpool came to stamford bridge, no 1 gave them a chance because of the form chelsea was in. 4 straight wins against 2 tier teams is what we are considering as the “team in form!”..comon gimme a break..lets be realistic here..3 loses and a draw is what we have achieved against big 4 this season with 15 games to play..I suggest keeping our feet on the ground would be the best thing. Please do not create a hype so much that if things dont go our way then we start criticizing r team from all corners..lets just hope we get our results better against big 4 for remaining fixtures and ManU slipping at some stage…I wish I can see chelsea emerging winners on sunday because that would be the biggest thing for chelsea in a while
All of you were busy creating the hype that we will emerge victorious and that we are on a winning streak whlie liverpool are struggling and wat not. I warned that expecting a win and then not gettin it would really have ppl going mad and blaming even the pettiest things. No doubt liverpool outplayed us and as the commentator said “there was only 1 team that looked like scoring and winning the game”. Blame all you want guys but it only justifies if what ur criticizing is positive. U need to be patient…Liverpool with all that history won there last league in 1990!..Arsenal with the record of never getting relegated from League last won it in 2003.
All these fans have seen the good days and have stood by their teams in bad times. Chelsea have seen the great days and they need us(fans) to be with them and support them even if they dont finish in top 4. Thats how Clubs are made and their history told to every football fan that is born. Lets make r history, good and bad, smiles and cries, triumphs and relegations…its a mixture of all emotions and thats how life is. I hope ive made some of your temper cool down and u do give it a thought.
Im disappointed, Im broke but I have one thing which will always remain and thats hope..Im with you Scholari, Im with u Roman, Im with Bossy, im with every1 of u who wears that blue kit and makes millions of us scattered all over the world, stick to r seats, cheer and enjoy the game we r so much in luv with and I cant thank you enough for that. Lets not boo r team when they return to the dressing room for it only proves r rivals comment that we are fake fans of Chelsea which v r not indeed.
Chelsea for life

Can we please quit this negative attitude and move on to brighter things? Lampard’s ban is likely to be canceled tomorrow. But we will see Bosingwa banned :( i missed the match but just saw the Bosingwa incident here: http://www.fantasypremierleague.info/player-watch/lampards-red-to-be-rescinded-meanwhile-bosingwa-could-be-in-hot-water/
Even more disappointed to see RA not being able to rescue us this time. Fcuking credit crunch…………..
Well said….bravo!! Chelsea is bereaved of ideas. Defense is in shambles.. i fail to see the importance of Malouda and Kalou when push comes to shove, Deco is proving a 20 minute wonder, when we need him for 90 [please Joe Cole get well soonest :-)].
Balack belongs in the coaching staff….not on the pitch…..and very soon i believe Drogba will just pack up and go elsewhere:-(
More money is not the way…..we need younger more agile, hungrier players to fill the boots of these ageing myths and misfits we seem to parade on the pitch now….most of them lack purpose i’m afraid. And Scholari….[fights tears] you are not the man for this job…your team lacks 1. Objectives
2. A care fully thought out Plan to achieve this
3. Complete Calibre of men to pursue it [we do have some....get rid of the chumps]
3.
I think many of us are trying to defend our team under the pretext of Riley’s blunder. The 1st hour even with Lamps’ presence didn’t see us creating anything for our strikers. We were overwhelmed by our rivals, not that they played marvelously, but we didn’t resist them.
Dead slow, obvious passes in the chelsea midfield get exhausted till the flow reaches the front 3. Since our wing backs weren’t allowed any sort of runs, our attack seemed even more brunt. And Ballack, contrary to the rest, tries to give celestial touch passes only to see lpool getting good counter attacking chances. And how many of you call this beautiful football? I know a team which plays better football – Wycombe. Yes, you read it right , league 2 teams.
We have lost everything now from records to the chelsea spirit. Enough of Scolari’s antics, bring in a new manager, some young legs, not now but atleast for the next season. But Scolari, sack him now before any Champions league humiliation.

Chelsea 4ever.
oops!!!
Did anybody notice that Scolari was in a decline since winning the World Cup in 2002?
World Cup 2002 (Brazil) -> Winners
Euro 2004 (Portugal) -> Finalists
World Cup 2006 (Portugal) -> Semi-finalists
Euro 2008 (Portugal) -> Quarter-finalists
UEFA Champions League 2009 (Chelsea) -> Round of 16?
Like everybody I am very disappointed.I saw what I feared. The league is obviously dead and buried.Nobody knows about Champions League and FA Cup.I do not want Scolari to get sacked because we will have to pay a heavy compensation.Everybody feels so low because we have lost against all our rivals and got embarassed in those defeats.
I will take things as they come.
God owes Chelsea a lot,I know that, even God knows that.I do believe a lot in God.I hope he does something good for Chelsea.I am confident this will happen sometime very soon or maybe a little bit late.
I am proud to be a Chelsea fan.
@ALL Dont worry, there are some things important than football in life.Just stand by your team when they need you the most.A win over a big rival makes your day,it seems like you are the most happiest person on Earth. The same way there are ups and downs in football.
Everything will be fine someday.
BLUE TILL I DIE.
is there any chance of mourinho coming back???????????????????????????????
pls god pls make roman understand wat a blunder he had done
@ 78: A true statement I must admit, season after season it gets ridiculous to see the way we are treated compared to the rest of the “Top 4″, mind you we might be up there but we get treated as a relegation battler at times. The media, journalists, magazines, referees all seem to be against Chelsea, solely cause of the fact that we made the most of the oppurtunity we were provided by RA. All the stick we get is purely unjustified, they say we bought the title and we were nodoby, well to hell with all the Chelsea haters, they can say what they want but the fact remains every team gets a chance and oppurtunity and we made the most of ours. Just because Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U have history don’t mean they are allowed to spend millions and were not just because we worked our way into the top 7 and then got a helping hand from RA. All the true fans know, the journey has not been easy for us, we were in 3RD TIER at one point but we worked our way to where we are today so no matter what anyone says, end of the day if your a true blue just say to hell with them.
Back to our recent form, well I must admit the way we started the season to the way we are about to end it are like day and night, completely the opposite of each other. The first 12 games under Scolari went brilliant, I thought he is the next JM for us, he is the next figure that will guide us in back to back titles and european glory. Then in our 13th match we faced Liverpool, the end result was 1-0 defeat at home and the 86 games unbeaten record wiped away, and what followed after that is simply history. LFS has dissapointed me beyond belief since then, some weeks ago I defended him because a Manager doesn’t play the game, the players do, so with that in mind it is not entirely his fault (To some degree this is still true). But he’s had enough chances to prove himself, with each passing day we are becoming more fragile and more weak and when that happens on such an alarming rate as it has this season then a few raised eyebrows are justified. Chelsea is not the same anymore and the players and the manager and the board are to be blamed for this. We want to go self-sufficient and trust me that is the best thing ive heard from Chelsea in recent years. Nothing will be better than being able to pay back Roman’s money and being able to operate on our own income. But with this mind that doesn’t mean we completely ignore that our squad needs a change, not just a change a complete change. EPL gets more instense each year and the competition gets tougher each season, what we acheived under JM deserves a round of applause but that was 4 years ago, the Premiership since than has changed but we have stayed the same. Players aged 30+ dominate the current Chelsea squad, besides Mikel and Kalou, their is not a single player in the current starting 11 below the age of 25 and when you compare that to other teams then you can see the difference as to why we have been struggling as of late.
This season is already past us, the best we can manage is FA cup at most but anything besides that is truly beyond us now. But starting from next season a lot of changes have to be applied to the current Chelsea infrastructure if we are to challenge or win anything. I personally don’t think LFS is the man for the job, he is not creative and innovative. The passion of football inside him seems to be fading away with his age, he isn’t imaganitive, subsitutions are not his strong point either and lack of english is proving to be a big difficulty. I know we shudn’t be changing managers every season, I mean is took SAF 5 season to get Man U on track when he took over, so we should be more patient but unfortunetly modern day football has evolved and its unforgiving, so LFS just doesn’t cut it for me. We need someone with Chelsea inside their blood (JM back would be a dream come true, but unfortunetly it will stay a dream). Call me crazy but I think Zola can be that man, we need a manager that can be there for the long term, not people in their 60′s that will retire in 2/3 years time. I think Zola and Clarke back at Chelsea can be the turning point for us. Another thing we need to do is to rejuvinate our squad (Malouda, Drogba, Ferreira, Deco, Anelka) don’t cut it for Chelsea, so hopefully introduction of players not past 27 years of age is what we need, players with hunger and determination of proving themselves the best. Maybe (Di Maria, Robinho, Adriano, Ribbery, Quaresma, Lennon) along with the introduction of Stoch, Di Santo, Manciene, Kakuta, Woods and Sinclair to keep the squad fresh with regular rotations is what we need. Ballack + Lampard are expereinced and together can drive the team forward so I wouldn’t even think of getting rid of them (Yes not even Ballack). Chelsea should learn from their mistakes this season and hopefully next season they can improve and do us all proud!!
10.53am – Ricardo Quaresma left out of Inter Milan’s European squad amid talk of a bid from Tottenham
3.35pm – Giovani Dos Santos’ proposed £7million switch to Portsmouth from Tottenham is off.
3.11pm – Andrei Arshavin’s switch to Arsenal from Zenit St Petersberg could be back on. A deal could be agreed if the Russian club settle a dispute with Arshavin over a loyalty payment.
it seems we dont want anyone.. how can we let quraesma join spurs!!! madness. kenyon is not doing his job!!! that is to sign players!!!
Chelsea attempting to Lure Quaresma to the Bridge, hijacking the transfer from Tottenhams Hands…theres a high chance he could join us given that he is portuguese
Reply to Adam @ 70304
Adam if you just want to follow the at the moment top team, you are perhaps not a true Blue. Maybe you should join the ManU together with millions of other arse lickers. Remember no manager, owner or player is bigger than the club.
I agree its tough times at the moment, but I suggest we all get realistic and admit that the wrong manager was chosen and that he unfortunately has lost us the chances of a decent season, (obviously I hope I’m wrong). Roman should in my opinion have picked Michael Laudrup as our manager, he would have had the guts to change/alter the team in such a profound way that any comparison with Jose wouldn’t make sense. We would that have had a confident, positively attacking team with a continued solid defense, that would have kept CFC amongst Europe’s best clubs. Instead what we have now is a lack lustre unimaginative team. A team that now longer makes you look forward to watching the next match, but on the other hand makes you cringe over the most basic of faults and mistakes ( this goes especially for Scolari but also to a large degree to most players). So lets enjoy all the positive moments we can get for the remainder of the season and then look forward to the next one, hopefully without all the incompetent managers, boardroom members and players we have at present.
So remember support Chelsea FC the CLUB, as it will always be in our blood. Everything else comes and goes.
It’s official Ricardo Quaresma to Chelsea F.C.
chelsea has signed quaresma on loan from inter. jose is still helping uss. let him come back
hmmm Quaresma to Chelsea could be a good deal being that he may play in the CL.
Will he be eligible to play in the CL?
Quaresma is a highly skilled player, who knows maybe he will perform really well and look to make the loan permanent. Next season we may have Quaresma and Robinho on each wing.
A lot of you are saying the FA Cup is all we have left, why are we conceding the CL already, Juventus are out of form right now and the return of Essien is right around the corner.
all these list we keep making….sign this sign that is all bollocks. cfc has the best squad in epl. just a bloody illeterate fool for a manager!
what was the thinking behing letting clarlkie go??? what??
whats the logic for this silly zonal marking???
why are all the players compaining?
how come jose’s inter is first in the serie a, yet he had never managed there before?
it pains me greatly to see how low my former team now lies. especially since chelsea was the product of such hard work by ranieri and TSO.
quaresma on chelsea until the summer….i’m not crazy about him..!
guys we have just signed quaresma on loan , its official
muwahahaha say goodbye to your career at chelsea malouda muwahahaha
Quaresma is a great signing. A loan is the perfect deal aswell. We have a great WIDE player who has PACE that can go past people and score goals aswell. Another thing is if he impresses then we can fork out what it takes to get him in the summer and if not then hes JMs problem.
98, Agreed.

no punishment for Bosingwa..its official
Hi BC, just lurking from Chelseablog. A very nice write up. Sacking Scolari now would be utterly senseless as any new incoming coach would have the same set of players. There are possibilities as to why RA is not funding a rebuild.
a.) A possible ground announcement, rumoured for the Annual report.
b.) He doesn’t like what he sees in Scolari and the fact that he seems unable to get the best from the current highly paid squad.
c.) Scolari is already getting the Mourinho ‘January’ treatment
d.) Very few worthwhile players are available during the transfer window unless you want to be ripped off. Something I agree with Kenyon on.
e.) Scolari will have made his mind up by now about who stays and who goes IN THE SUMMER and that’s when the rebuild to an attacking attractive team really starts
f.) RA is skint
g.) Kenyon and RA are getting the books in order for a possible sale of the club.
Whatever the reasons the daft mentality behind chucking huge amounts of money at very man and his dog is doomed to failure. Man City will find this out as surely as Real Madrid did during their Galactico years. We need decent young players to be bought, with hunger, during the summer and we should ship out deadwood such as Drogba (who doesnt give a shit), Malouda (the worst I’ve ever seen in a blue shirt), Deco (here to fund his retirement), Mineiro (what was his point exactly?) and perhaps Ferreira as well. Alex is a worthy stand in for Riccy and Ivanovic has been nothing short of superb in his appearances this season. The boy deserves his chance. get a couple of pacy wingers (Quaresma if he shows his worth could be one), a new striker (Agbonlahor perhaps) and promote some of the youngsters such as Stoch, Sinclair and Di Santo. take a leaf from Manures book who rarely buy more than 1 or 2 big players per season. Anelka is still dangerous, Belletti a good utility player, Ashley Cole may well be the best this season. JT is still a rock, Ballack and Lampard are so much better without Deco getting in the way and vastly experience. The key is the mixture of experience and youth. Fundamentally not a lot is wrong, we’re just a de-tuned engine at the moment and the new mechanic hasn’t learned to way to fix it.
If Scolari does go then stop crying for Mourinho, it ain’t gonna happen. Zola and Clarke need more time and experience together and in this league. We don’t need ‘European experience’ so stop with the lists of Italians, Portuguese and Spanish….there are two very good candidates in the EPL already. Martin O’ Neill and David Moyes. I quite fancy Moyes as he has the advantage of youth and seems to have the healthy disdain of authority, the hard headedness against egotistical players and the tactical nous to become our own Ferguson and build something long lasting. Scolari may well stay, although at 60 one has to wonder what his long term commitment is likely to be, mind you if he turns it around then he may have another 10 years at this level.
This season is not yet a disaster and maybe if this is our weakest season before we rebuild and start to conquer again we’ll all understand why this was necessary.
even b4 the red card the team couldnt move forward.i was just praying for a draw because liverpool was starving for a goal.after the red card i just turned the tv off that was 2much for my head.because i look at our bench don’t see no1 to make things happen we have a weak team this year.ballack, deco, malouda and the list goes on they need tobe replaced and we need agressive strikers.we don’t create many chances this days.i think we were better off avram grant because so far the team its no good enough just passing e loosing the ball all the time.i didn’t want admit that but i think scolari change the spirit of the squad.the only match saw the real blue was against stoke they played lyk real chanpions.but i’m dissapointed we need to act now before it’s too late.
Totally agree with Tony Glover @113.
About David Moyes that is. He’s young and hungry, he preaches hardwork and team spirit and he’s nt one to complain about lack of resources. See what he’s doing with Everton right now. People make these noises about O’Neil. No doubt he’s good bt I jus think Moyes is better. Little money, yet he manages to stay just outside the big 4 every season, even breached it once.
Seriously, the only other team in blue I follow to any extent is Everton, which is down to Moyes and his style of play which screams hard work.
