Chelsea winter sale! Huge discounts! Cut-prices! Rush now!

Chelsea has been very busy in this transfer window after all, if the rumours are to be believed. As far as I know there is some or the other rumour about all players except only a few. It appears that Chelsea would lose more than it gains in this transfer window. Has Scolari started his team re-building and if yes, isn’t it a bit too early?

Drogba talks about his love for Marseille the same way Cannavaro would talk about Napoli. It’s natural that he feels he owes them something. Not sure if he gave this interview or in 2005. Journos know their ways to recycle stories with new headlines. Looks like Scolari has still not made up his mind on Drogba. On the other hand, I think Drogba has made it clear that he wants to be here for now. If he wants to leave, he should be allowed to.

I’m a Drogba fan. I’ve enjoyed his great performances for four seasons. Many think he had one good season when he scored 30+ goals. That’s not true. He has been having good seasons since he joined Chelsea. He did not score 30+ goals in his first two seasons but his contribution to the team was outstanding. Certainly a type of player I would have in my team. But if he himself wants to leave, there is no point in trying to hold him. Since JM left, he has not been the same. And I don’t think Scolari and Drogba would work well together. He is cup-tied and I think he is very important if Chelsea has to go further in the champions league this season. Rumours emerge that Man City are interested in Drogba.

Sell him? It’s my choice but I think if someone offers a lot of money, the club might accept it. He still trains very hard and could be in my side next week – but I make the decisions. If people offer money for my players, it’s down to the club to accept them.

This is as good as transfer listing Drogba. If he doesn’t leave this month I wonder if Scolari would be able to keep him motivated and get anything from him.

‘Chelsea is chasing Robinho’ screams Goal.com. The way I see it, Robinho is doing very very well at Man City. He is a big crowd favourite at Eastlands. I’m sure their attendance has improved since the Brazilian came in. He may not be in love with Man City but he knows that he needs to keep patience. They have failed to bring Kaka but there’s lot more to happen. By Aug 2009, Man City could have a different and high profile team. Chelsea’s spending days are over. We have started couting cash finally. Given all these circumstances, I wonder if Robinho would join Chelsea. Certainly not this month. It’s possible in the summer if Man City gets relegated!

You could not have missed this outrageous rumour that Chelsea wants to get Robinho by exchanging FOUR Chelsea players! This did come up a couple of weeks back but I thought this could not have been anything but a misquote. But now, this has come up again with Marca reporting that this might happen. The players in exchange are Kalou, Malouda, Anelka and Alex/Ivanovic. Chelsea would be at a loss if we do this. This would further weaken the squad and also sends out wrong signals to all the players. Four Chelsea players (you can call them first teamers) for Robinho is an obscene deal. Wonder who will we have in the bench then? If I were Mark Hughes, I’d love to pounce on this deal. Leaving Robinho won’t do good to their promises of bring world class players but getting Kalou, Malouda, Anelka and Alex/Ivanovic would be a great thing for the Man City team. With these players, they could avoid the drop by March. I wouldn’t be able to say this otherwise, even if they had Robinho.

It makes a lot of sense to move ahead and look beyond Robinho. We missed the bus and now it is possible only if we are ready to get our hands dirtied. It would be another saga and even then there’s no guarantee if it will work out way. I hope we look at other possibilities meanwhile and hope Man City gets relegated ;-)

I don’t think Carvalho would be around for too long. We should try to keep Ivanovic and Alex as they seem to be the future of Chelsea defence. Somehow, Ivanovic become every team’s choice except Chelsea. From Milan to Fiorentina to Man City, they all want Ivanovic. Ivanovic is a better defender than Alex but Scolari always plays Alex ahead of Ivanovic. It’s a shame if we lose out on Ivanovic, especially to Man City. If at all, he is moving to Man City, we should do a good deal and make the best out of Man City’s situation. Given the current scenario, the Sheikh might offer £10m for a player like me, and that’s only because I’ve never kicked a ball on a football pitch.

Cudicini may not be leaving after all. It is reported that Scolari jumped in to block the deal ala Berlusconi but the difference is Cudicini might be willing to leave. It’s good that Phil has blocked this move but he should also then play Cudicini a bit more than he does now. At least in domestic cup matches or against those matches that are easier on paper.

Villareal are after Malouda. The money they offer is under £7m. I would not leave Malouda until I have a replacement and certainly not for that money. Malouda is not the crowd favourite at Chelsea but he is not a bad player. He is in fact a good player who could not settle in at his new club. Add to that injuries, bench roles and his form – a potential that never turned into performance. I’d keep Malouda unless the price is too good.

Scolari seems to want Manuel da Costa, the 22-year old Portuguese central defender from Fiorentina. Apparently, Scolari knows him all too well, called him up to the national squad and all that. I think Scolari’s vision of the new Chelsea consists of Terry, Lampard, Essien, Brazilians, Portuguese and some youth players. I’m fine with it as long as it’s all done with some time sense, team balance, staff/fan morale and also an eye on the premier league table.

Okay, you know that Man City are eyeing 28-year old John Terry. Scolari is eyeing 24-year old Robinho. If Mark Hughes makes an exchange offer for swapping these two stars, what do you think Scolari’s stance would be?! Of course, I wouldn’t swap Terry for anyone but what do you think Scolari would do, given such a situation. By the way, you may not rule this out. With Man City, you may not rule anything out, including an offer for Scolari himself.

There are so many rumours, so many untruths. Yesterday morning Carlo’s transfer to Tottingham was all signed and sealed, accrording to one UK newspaper. This morning Scolari said no and blocked any move and Redknapp said that he didn’t know anything about it. Now we have Man City after Drogba, but that won’t happen unless we get Robinho. Apparently Robinho has been in regular contact with Scolari ever since he went to Eastlands and Scolari no doubt will dig in and will get his own way…. eventually. This transfer window is really really strange. But roll on Saturday lets knock out the Tractor Boys of Ipswich Town.

BC to be honest all these rumours are just headlines to boost up the Newspaper sales, I mean c’mon writers need something to write about and when a Chelsea star is axed for even a match he is bound to be linked with 30 odd clubs. The same goes for Man City now, just because they are ultra-rich, writers want to add some spics to every little bit of detail that comes out of the club. I don’t think DD would personally want to move to MC, on top of it Goal.Com has a article on him this published morning sayin he feels 100% fit and wants to come back and start scoring to his best of abilities for Chelsea. I don’t think he wants to leave the club as for now, and by next season when he is 31 (as good as he is) I don’t think many high profile clubs would want to buy strikers past their prime and Drogba himself knows this that’s why if anything he would return to France.

Scolari has been quoted sayin he’s impressed with Stoch and wants him to set an example to the youth team, I think LFS is doing the right thing in motivating youngsters, the big money spending days are over, we now have to start acting like Arsenal in some ways (not poaching youngsters) but instead relying on home talent and spending wisely. Arsenal have a record transfer fee of £13M, even Wayne Bridge cost Man City £12M, so what im trying to say is Arsneal spend little money but they spend wisely, AW is a clever man and despite having the money he doesn’t let clubs hold him for ransom over players he wants to accquire. Chelsea needs to start doing this aswell, growing home talent and buying players in their prime and developing them rather then going for 27+ megastars because their is no long term future with players like that (Ballack, Malouda, Schev) are good examples.

This is out of context, but just wanted to share some expereinces with all my chelsea heads here, basically a list of footballers and managers I met while working at Heathrow:

1: Jose Mourinho: Yes I have met “The Special One”, This was a few weeks before he left the bridge :(
2: Didier Drogba: The man might be a cry baby, but I met him 3 days after our 1-0 FA cup Win over Man U, he sure was smiling that day.
3: John Terry: Flying to spain with Toni (his wife) about a year and a half ago.
4: Makalele: 2 days after the Champions League final.
5: Arsene Wenger: The day after we beat them 2-1 in Premier League last year (I made him check his bags in ;) lol)
6: Thierry Henry: A few years back, I have to admit he was one arrogant a$$hole.
7: Ryan Giggs, Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Nenmanja Vidic, Carlos Tevez, Edwin Van Der Saar, Owen Hargreves, Rio Ferdinand and Sir Alex Ferguson (Flying domestic to Manchester Airport) some 18 months ago.

The only person I missed about a year ago was Frank Lampard (I was on my break – Dammit lol) I just though I share my expereince with everyone here, How bout you guys, met any of your favourite footballers or managers??

Chelsea have plenty of decent young talent who could break through, the best of the lot is easily gael kakuta, he is an amazing winger, for a 17 year old he is a prodigous talent. Stoch and di santo will slowly transition into the team now that we are short of players in those roles.
Also ivanovic is well liked by scolari but ivanovic plays best as a fullback or attacking CB, when carvalho was gone ivanovic got more game time next to terry because they complement each other, terry is big and strong in the air, ivanovic is better in the tackle and great on the ground. When carvalho plays scolari prefers alex because alex is terry-lite and can speak portoguese like carvalho and bosingwa can. Essientially all he does is swap like for like. If alex leaves mancienne could replace him but again mancienne is similar to carvalho more then terry.
Chelsea wont buy players i think unless we find a bargain.

robinho transfer aint gonna happen in this window. and all this talk about tradin some players plus cash for him? he is not worth it. Have u guys seen him perform in the big games????? He is a decent player but not worth all that.
we should steal arshavin before arsss sign him but I doubt zenit will allow him to go away that cheap.

Yeah, I know. If these rumours are true we won’t have half the squad for the Liverpool match!

8. thetrueblueraider - 22nd Jan

Big Phil is still adjusting. You have to account that he HASN’T HAD: a full squad yet, money to buy like Mourinho, players in their prime, full fan support, etc. Yeah, everyone got excited with our early season performance, but we started with an easy schedule early with no big tests. I think we are building confidence and hitting our stride. I also believe he should start youth attackers intermittently in place of defensive players and that we need to understand we aren’t going to be getting the best of Drogs, Ballack, etc anymore. True Blue til I die, let’s win these fucking things!

++ Torres is going to Ipswich City for a mega USD88 Million deal
++ Drogba says he is commited to Chelsea till he is 80 years old
++ Valencia wants USd580Million for David Villa, but Villa is commited to stay at valencia for a weekly salary of 50 Pounds
++ Scolari says nobody is up for sale(offf if i want to sell i sell, when i buy i buy, i dont sent when i buy and i dont buy when i sell, this is football… offf”

lets see if these romours started by me gets a quote in Sun and Tribal

dont forget that while mourinho and grant had an amazing assman while scolari lost his not much into the season, such a loss is big since scolari doesnt know the competition as well as clarke did. Since clarke left the back has gotten weaker and west ham has only got better. Clarke is a very able assman, able to organize all the little things and add quite a bit of tactical knowledge. Very big loss but i think chelsea will benefit if zola does well in west ham(who are dirt poor and all their players are leaving, doing well is not being relegated) and gets some experience, i can expect both clarke and zola back to chelsea. Scolari is only readying chelsea for zola who is still on training wheels.

everyone pretty much wrapped up the transfer rumors. I would still love to c a striker coming to stamford bridge. We really need 1 if v want to have any chance of lifting a title..if v dont have the cash, give the youngster regular chances…initially substituting then after 45 min and c how they are getting along. We need fresh legs and adrenaline rush and that comes through youngsters…lets not run around robinho and company anymore..lets build r selves and r youth so strong that people themselves want to end up at the bridge. Scholari can do wonders with training the new lads..he has made mediocre players into stars and if v get behind him and start cheering him up at matches he might work his magic he has been famous for. people mentioned about Arsene Wenger and I really respect him for what he has done for Arsenal. He has made there youth system so strong that they dont have to run around in tranfer windows..he is major in economics and knows the value of money..maybe we wont start to get instant results but trust me v will be on the right side of the road for the rest of the journey

Well here you go to wake up on a Friday morning. Chelsea are going to be subject to a £750m bid from a German consortium, backed by Arab money, the same money that brought into Money Citeh.

Its true!!

Reports: Viola secure Ivanovic
Friday 30 January, 2009
It has been reported that Fiorentina and Chelsea have finally agreed terms for the transfer of defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The Serbian star has become frustrated by his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge.

Milan unsuccessfully pursued the 24-year-old last summer, but it now seems that Fiorentina have had more luck in negotiations.

According to Sky Sports, after weeks of painstaking talks, Ivanovic will finally become a Gigliati player.

Ivanovic is a non-EU player and so won’t be available for Fiorentina initially, but he should arrive at the end of the season.

There are suggestions that Manuel Da Costa may move the other way once his loan spell at Sampdoria ends.

As yet, the details of the agreement between the two sides are unclear.
