Our home form sucks. That’s not just our opinion but that seems to be the official line as well. Even the boss and the players have admitted on our home woes. The last time we won a home league match was on Nov 1, 2008.

Over the last few weeks, right here in this blog, we have spoken at lengths on what’s going wrong, what needs to be done and how do we secure a home win. After we secure a home win, we need to start winning more often at home, and then probably make an unbeaten run at home, and probably in some seasons, we need to break our own home league record of 86 matches. So, that’s how far it is. For now, we’ve got West Brom who might come here with a ‘single-point’ programme.

If Scolari wants to turnaround the home form, there is no better team to play that West Brom. They are lying at the bottom of the league and they are the odds-on favourite to get relegated this season. On paper, you can call this a matchup between the best attack and the worst defence (except Blackburn). Our goal difference is a +29 and that of West Brom is -19. We should not have any trouble in dispatching this West Brom team. No matter which team we select, no matter who are in the bench, no matter what tactic we play, this is a three pointer.

Finally, Didier Drogba would make his first start of the season today. Scolari makes it sound like he is fit to start only today. That’s allright. I don’t expect him to say ‘I screwed up and now I’ve learnt my lesson’. Drogba starting in match does not guaranteee a goal from him, but the way I see it, certainly almost guarantees a goal for Chelsea. Because, even if he doesn’t score, he can set up attacks, assist Anelka or Lampard, draw some defenders and more importantly trouble the defenders and goalkeeper.

There is no John Terry today as he serves the first of his three match suspension due to that red card. There was a lot of discussion around that decision. I hate Phil Dowd. I just hate the sight of him on the football pitch. That aside, I thought it was a red card. No way was it a yellow. John Terry erred and Phil Dowd didn’t. Carvalho might make a return after all, probably a short appearance. With Scolari hinting that he would start Drogba, I’m very keen to see which formation he would play. You suckers, you made him drop his beloved 4-1-4-1. Now he needs to play a 4-4-2 or 4-4-2 diamond or a 4-1-3-2. I’m assuming here that Anelka starts. If Scolari is particular about the ‘players in the middle’, Anelka could find himself in the bench. Why are we even talking about the team here? No matter what, we simply gotta win!

I think we should win 3-0 or something. Much has been said and writted about our awful home form. This is a wonderful opportunity to turn around our home form, stop the wagging tongues (me) and silence the critics (me, me!). I feel sorry for West Brom that they need to be at the receiving end of a possible Chelsea onslaught.

What if . . . what if . . . we draw again? Fcuk it . . we’re winning 3-0.
