At the end of the first half hour, Scolari’s one way ticket to Brazil looked like money well spent. For all his claims of this being a zero pressure game, Chelsea were visibly under pressure. Just when desperation started to set in, Kalou suprised most including himself with his unusual control on the ball and a safe finish. I can’t believe that this is all Chelsea could come up with, in the most defining match of the season thus far!

We were served the same typical home performance of 08/09 last night too, except that there was Drogba for the last 30 minutes. That one man made a big difference. It’s not just the goal, it’s the way Chelsea were playing when Drogba was around. He oozes class with every touch. We need him if we have to win anything this season. As much as I’m tempted to give it to Drogba, John Obi Mikel must be the man of the match. Amazing performance yet again.

Chelsea finish runner up in a group exposing themselves to play a group winner in the next knock out round. Going by the general rules, it could be one of Juventus, Villareal, Porto, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Lyon or Panathinaikos, also depending on the Wednesdy night results. I don’t care much about who we play next because if you want to win the champions league you gotta meet and beat these teams. Runner up in the group also means that we would play the first leg at Stamford Bridge and the second leg away. Given our current home and away form, this might even be a blessing in disguise!

How many of us would relish another Chelsea vs Barcelona clash?

Match reaction article would be updated later on.
