This should not have happened. At least not at Stamford Bridge. At least not in penalties, again. Did anyone of you see the match so that we can have some first hand report being made of how we managed to lose this match? I’m sure it must be a deserved defeat.
When you don’t take your chances and lose, you should not go around making excuses. I’m not blaming that we can’t even beat a championship side when it goes to penalties. Always, my theory is that we should wrap the game in the full time plus extra time. Anybody can beat anybody in penalties. One this is for sure, the aura of the new-found invincibility has been fading fast. It’s not as easy a job as Felipao once thought, after all!
And what’s to do with these teams that start with a ‘B’ and end with ‘Y’? Would we lose to Bombay FC too? It is evidently hyper-complacency, the way I see it. One consolation is that this did not happen closer to the finals or at worst in the finals. A defeat in the fourth round means we get concentrate on the other three trophies while reducing the chances of seeing the likes of Di Santo (injured for 3 weeks now). The brightest spot of the match was Drogba’s return. The goal he scored was a Didier Drogba goal. Those are the kind of goals I want strikers to score. That’s why I want to see Drogba on the pitch.
I’ll try to put a more detailed match report tonight. Meanwhile, pour all your condolence messages here!

mikel’s penalty saved… burnley advances in carling cup
how many shootouts have we lost in a row… i think its 6 now
Wow… nice job Chelsea.. way to f*** up
what the hell is mikel doing taking a penalty???? bridge missed also
Wow… nice job Chelsea.. way to f*** up
So Big Phil Throws Drogba in the soup & look what happen we lost just the same shit happened against Roma when he decide to play Drogs. Big Phil U know the consequences keep Drogs out. We where just doing fine. Either I’m to f***g superstitious. Just keep him out
I was not happy with the team selection and the thoughts of LFS. Why did Maluda start ? I kind of understand – Deco and Kaluo starting , one coming back from injury and another not getting any play time ? Should have given Sinclair a starting chance .. Ok forget that .. When Belleti was injured, Sinclair should have been the substitute. I think we are wasting Sinclair and should probably sell him.
Then at half time, we replace deco with mikel, even before the match is killed . I am really surprised at that . In PL , even if we have 3-0 lead at half time, we make substitution after 60 minutes .
I don’t know why did Ray Wilkins makes comments about Arsenal. even if they fielded an young side, they did play breathtaking football and more importantly progressed to the next round. At least, it would have been bit ok, if we lost after starting with 3 -4 youngsters.. Anyways after 120 minutes, all we got is tired Maluda, Lampard and Mikel ..
sooner or later scolari is gonna get axed
i want chelsea to win and
not losing beautifully
There’s no money to axe him. There is sure to be a pay-off penalty if he’s sacked, and then there would have to be money for a new coach. What’s happening at the moment reminds me of the Ranieri era, and if you remember, Ranieri said it wasn’t the winning that was important but how we played the game. Scolari is giving us “beautiful football”. I’d like to see some of the old grit and fighting to the final whistle but that’s not how it’s happening at the moment. Still the media are loving us now we’re losing. It won’t do any good to get upset, there’s nothing to be done, can’t afford to off him so we’ll just keep pogoing along, up one game, down the next.
I’m very upset with this result, a lot of people don’t take the carling cup seriously, but this was f***ing pathetic. I’m angry that Burnley, a team that’s not even in the PL, came to Stamford Bridge and ended up celebrating on our own field. And this isn’t Scolari’s fault either, it’s the players’ faults. Coaches don’t lose games, the players who play on the field lose games. I’m not happy with their performance at all. I’m a true blue till I die and will always love Chelsea, but I will bash my own team when they play like this. Chelsea need to wake the f*** up.
Great we have already lost three time in the last 4 weeks .. 2 times at one time fortress …
Dreaming for quadruple is over.
Im shocked when i saw the result. I hoped it was an error in the site. But it wasnt
Mikel cant even convert a penalty.he should practice his shooting more.
This our form guide will look like
L-W-W-L-W-L
6 games we lost 3.
Liverpool also gone out
that is the only satisfaction

it is only carling last year utd lost in round 3 and won epl and ucl we will treble dont worry we cant play same way week in week out it is not a defeat actualy it was a draw i dont care about cc we should focus on ucl epl and fa cup no team has ever done a quarapule i think so at least not in recent memory
haiz…i am disappointed…wilkins claimed arsenal is disrespecting the competition by putting young players…but we can’t win burnley…YYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?it hurts to lose our quadruple dream so early….haiz
premierleague is more important than cc so he was preparing squad for epl we need to chop away paulo and get some good players in jan .kalou should play as a 2nd striker .this match is a draw not a defeat penalty shoot out are just rem 4 2-3 days so chelsea has only lost 2 games only i bet that neither utd nor arsenal will win cc it may be spurs or blackburn that may win.we will do treble cheers dont question scolari yet at least see the season fully before judging him
we lost to charlton in shoot out in 2005 it was treated as draw at bridge .winning epl is more important than home record .it is still a draw .bridge will remain a fortress no team in epl will go back happy from bridge this season .i am hoping 4 anelka drogba partnership in epl that will destroy all teams agaist chelsea.drogba goal is more important than draw or shootout story.as far as shootout goes there was no drog ballack deco bellati acole anelka to take kicks
NoW,For The Positives
1.Ivanovic-Looks Like He Has A Future With Us
2.We can concentrate more on Better Competitions
3.Looks like Ballack,Joe And Ashley will feature against WBA
4.Lampard-Goo Performance
The Negatives
1.Kalou-Crap And “HeyJose” has absolutely no idea when he talks about Kalou being the second striker……………………..he was crap and whole CFCNet is echoing that.
2.Alex-Pathetic at Times
3.Drogba’s Antics-He thinks of himself as being bigger than the club and it shows how he carry himself.
@BC
Paulo,Kalou out………………..please
Embarrassing defeat!
What the *bleep* is going on? I find that there is a lack of consistency and drive to win…..
its unbearable…oh i will not got to work since my office mates …
what the hell…happen?????!!!!!!we lost again….at our home once call fortress…the worst is we lost to who?..burnel?..burnly?burnley….whats wrong with this team?we cant keep losing like this..i prefer winning ugly..than losing beautifully…..wake up….guys….. i still luv this club…I’m a true blue till I die , but I will bash my own team when they play like this..
c’mon chelsea…buck up…u r still the best…!!!!!!!hope in jan we get the players i mentioned b4…and with the injured players back…hopefully scolari can hav a plan B and change his tactics at times
How the hell can you write a match report on a game in which you didn’t even see?
Sitting in front of the desktop watching soccernet live score (yes i was ‘watching’ there!) i was biting my nails n praying that we win the penalties…against BARNSLEY! no disrespect to them though, if they won, they deserved, but even they have to admit that its a surprise….a huge one. I was aghast at the team selection. What were the guys thinking anyways?!! I saw the arsenal match yesterday and boy I have to admit I was thrilled. Lads of 16 and 18 enjoying the game and it was such a pleasure to watch that I actually was supporting arsenal (boy that is something!!!!). But the point is where were out lads?????di santo came in just as a replacement n where in hell was sinclair?!!i am sure they would have been so hungry.
But then I don’t agree with guys who have suggested we go back to our gritty result oriented game. I am not saying we end up being another arsenal…which I am sure we won’t but I am sure you guys would agree that we never played more eye-catching football since quite some time now( albeit not all matches…like this barnsley one or roma one(after their first goal)!!!) Its great to see how much better some of our players seem now. Look at the attacking flair of ashley cole…this season he truly has stated how good an attacking full back he can be….and then lampard has done the impossible and seems even better now!!!! I am sure we would get results. I feel sometimes we do need a bit more of a push and desire. I really feel Ballack and Essien are two guys we have missed in both the games against roma and barnsley. I especially like the brutal desire which Ballack shows sometimes and the sheer contempt for the opposition in his eyes. True German!
And the talks of scolari being sacked……its sheer rubbish….. I don’t even want to talk more on that.
If this had happened last year under Grant everyone would have rioted. Yet Solari can’t do wrong. How is it not his fault like it was Grant’s fault? Yet Grant took over a team in turmoil, survived injuries and some of the best players going to the African Cup of Nations as well as fans that hated him and still came in second for the Carling cup, Champions league and Premier league, when they were not supposed to come close to the finals of any of them. Scolari talks a good talk but that is getting old now. “God is helping”, We are getting the hotel rooms for the final, We will go undefeated are great for headlines but does not win games. This team will not come close to the success that they had last year under Grant.
But all you loyal fans who would rather have a talking head will be happy to hear Scalari talk about winning, whereas Grant did not talk he just won.
drogba is not selfish at he sometimes does stupid thinga he is a team man though we need to score 2 goals atleast in most of matches we dont concede more than 1 normally 90 percent times when we will have full team to choose from we will shootout as well ,cc is not important so 4 matches is blessing in disguise it is better to loose now then in semis or final it hurts less now.anyway facup will be a big target now for us .kalou is young i think he is better striker than as winger but we need 1 good striker who has no problem of being on the bench .he should be a super sub owen and henry of the world wont help podolski may help youngster who are pacey can be a help.
Dear Ray Wilkins,
As a former Manchester United and Chelsea player I have never really liked you. It’s nothing personal, it’s just that you are tainted by association. I have to admit I took offence at your remarks yesterday in which you claimed that Arsenal playing young players in the Carling Cup devalued the competition.
To my mind this was an obvious dig at Arsenal and in a way I can understand it. You say your focus is on winning the Carling Cup so you’ll play your first team players. It’s a decent bluff, in fairness. Chelsea have a good record in the competition as Arsenal fans know only too well. Your lot did us in the final a couple of years back.
But let’s be honest. The real reason you play your first team players in this competition is because you don’t have any kind of youth system to speak of. As your team has been assembled by the chequebook there’s no need to waste any time on anything as paltry as young players. If a star leaves you can simply buy another star.
While Arsenal see the Carling Cup as a way of blooding fresh talent and giving them the chance of first team football, Chelsea see it as just another trophy. Which is fine, one man’s meat is another man’s poison and all that. But surely as a former Chelsea apprentice, who made his debut in 1973 having just turned 17, you’d like to see some young players get their chance. Imagine if you were a youngster at Chelsea now. You wouldn’t stand a chance of getting anywhere near the first team. Chelsea would simply go out and buy somebody who could pass the ball sideways rather than bring through a youngster who could pass the ball sideways, sad, but true.
You said “Playing a young or weakened team undermines the value of the competition. And we have not and will not do that. We want to win it, big time”. Far be it for me to suggest otherwise but perhaps some young players might have approached the game against Burnley with a little more effort than some of your ‘big time’ players.
Oh, you can put it down to a freak result, these things happen in cup football, blah, blah, blah, but we all know that’s not true. Chelsea lost because you happened to open your big mouth and then you sideways passed your own foot into it. You totally and utterly jinxed them with your comments. And it’s brilliant.
Did you see Arsenal against Wigan? Did you? Do you really think seeing young players enjoying their football is undermining the value of the competition? Do you think Arsenal slashing ticket prices so more fans, especially young fans, can attend the games is undermining the value of the competition? Do you think those young fans seeing incredible young talent like Wilshere, Ramsey, Vela, Djourou, Merida and Simpson is undermining the value of the competition?
If you do then you might need to step back and have a little rethink. Surely Chelsea’s ‘big time’ players bottling a penalty shoot-out undermines the value of the competition more. Surely Didier Drogba throwing a coin at the crowd, Carragher style, undermines the value of the competition more. Surely even playing Drogba (a man whose behaviour in the Champions League final was so appalling that most clubs would have sold him in a heartbeat) ahead of some, young, eager teenager undermines the value, not only of the competition, but of your club. That’s assuming there are any values there to begin with. Which there aren’t.
We beat Wigan with kids, you couldn’t beat Burnley with your first team. That’s proper ‘big time’. Anyway, I’m rambling here. I’d best leave you to work with those ‘big time’ players. What joy it must bring you to coach £140,000-a-week been there, done that, worn the t-shirt players and have them lose in a cup game to a team with Ade Akinbiyi in it. I’m sure it’s nothing like the pleasure gained from taking young players, developing them the ‘Arsenal’ way, and seeing them destroy a Premier League team. Not that you’d know.
A Very Happy Gooner.
ps – undermine my hole you poxy, uncle Fester looking cuntwrench.
How the hell can you write a match report on a game in which you didn’t even see?
Can’t you see . .
1. I haven’t written the match report yet.
2. I can write one after I’ve watched the recording.
@A very happy fool
just cuz u won one match that too in the carling cup, u think ur team is destroying EPL opponents??
Stoke, Fulham, HUll, forgotten them all just because u beat Manu at the weekend??
what have you won in the last four years in the ‘Arsenil’ way?? what youngsters are you talking abt?? the cherry picked ones from the best academies of other clubs?? Walcott is not ur academy’s product , Fabregas is not, Ramsey is not, so what are u getting so happy abt?? stealing youngsters from other teams by offering them huge contracts at really young ages is your shit arsenal way…then when u dont win oh its cuz u hav young players, by the time the become experienced players they are sold, face it Arsenal are nothing more than a stepping stone for players, they dont want to stay here, they want trophies, big games, not stupid fancy football with no end product , so they come here, advertise themselves and leave for bigger clubs(Flamini, Hleb etc) are just some examples, so i think you have enugh problems with your shit of a defence which does not feature your world class youngsters but a United and a Chelsea reject, so take ur foolishness some crap else…
oh and happy gooner, or shld i say arseblogger, i think u crap hypocrites telling us to sell Drogba when ur lot depend more often than not on a captain who criticizes his own team week in and out and ofcourse your very own Adebayor, what a fantastic transfer market he had, typical ARSE-fool u r no doubt, not won a trophy for four years but to spout crap u lot can go around anywhere…
Thanks joeblue. That’s pretty much what I wanted to say.
Okay okay its such a shame to lose to Burnley . I know that , but it should be said that we had no chance in Penalty-Shoot-Outs ! Take a look our last 3 penalties that we had in 2008
First : Champion League Final we Lost in Sudden Death
Second : Pre-season – in Moscow rail cup i think – we lost in Sudden Death
Third : Fourth Round of Carling Cup we lost in Sudden Death !
——-
Dont forget in 2007 we lost to Liverpool in Penalties in Champion League at Anfield.
WE ARE UNLUCKY IN PENS ! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu**
Last night when i looked at Burnley that beat chelsea i was laughinso much This is the beauty of football !
Joeblue,
Who would come to Chelsea other than the money? With the financial crisis getting worse, sooner or later Chelsea might even go broke. Face it, even Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Spurs won more trophies in their history than Chelsea. Chelsea are in the Big Four because of Roman Abramovich. Who the hell was Chelsea back in the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and early this decade and now we have all this bandwagon Chelsea fans popping up.
Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool were in the elite since the beginning of time..
By the way, if Gallas is considered a Chelsea reject, both Ashely Cole and Anelka (double winner with Arsenal back in 1998) can be considered Arsenal rejects.
Realize one thing, Arsenal have to finance the stadium, Arsene needs to find alternatives, hence young players.
With money, anyone can do a Chelsea.
Read it Joeblue:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1923691.ece
Even Fabio Capello was there watching the match.
Lampard and Joe Cole are products of West Ham academy. Only John Terry is of Chelsea’s.
You gotta give credit to Arsenal. Fabregas at 18 back then anchoring the midfield all the way towards the 2006 Champions league final against Barcelona. Who gives young players that chance?
The ages of the starting 11 midfield/forward players against Man U recently:
Diaby – 22
Bendtner – 20
Denilson – 20
Fabregas – 21
Walcott – 19
Nasri – 21
@ adam
u dont even know waht chelsea stands for. let me just say im very sad that we lost but ill get over it. even barcelona milan real man utd liverpool etc loose to small teams. no need to wish to sell every player that diddnt play good last night. just know for the record that chelsea sucks at penaltys, next time just turn of your tvs, but be a real fan. chelsea is more than money know. and im happy drogba scored.
@ 33 that is exactly why they never won CL and they now cant win PL. young players
He got a point “25. A Happy Gooner”
Ray should shut his mouth. If arsenal would have lost badly and we would have ended up winning the curling cup, then and MAYBE then if would have said wat he said, it would have been aite. but happy gooner, u should worry about ur players before bashing drogs and our other players u fool, u guys have ur own issues to deal wit.
I didnt se the game yesterday, but oh man wat a bad feeling I have today. and I will be thinking of it atleast till our next match. AM starting to get tired of this Rebound games. why cant w start a winningstreak instead of talkin about time to rebound games everything we mess up?
we can blame the coach or the players as much s we want, but the bottom line is its history now. What can we do to make sure this wont happen again and again all over again?
its really bad to lose on penelty again, but thats not were we lost the game. We should have won in regulationtime and ET. to be honest wit you guys I dont think LFS have figured out yet, its diff coachin a national side and a big club.
Ballack we need you to get fit again. and till essien gets back can someone bring the SWAGGER that is lost in our team? Even thought its the curling cup, we shouldnt get used to losing. NO excuse here. props goes to burnley. after they score they started to feel it, and motivation beat class.
BC am glad we have this blog. not cause its kewl but cause we can get our frustration out on it lol
am gonna lay-low now. all ma friends ..yea chelsea haters.. gonna want to rubb it in my face.
this bullshit ya, dang
stay well blue-mates and u pool fans as well=)
/………….
BC – The main reason why we lost last night is that we didn’t have a leader on the pitch. Not one of those players on the pitch last night is a leader.
When I found out that JT was on the bench when I got to the ground – I knew it was going to be one of those nights!!!
Young player will never be sucessfull in chelsea. For promoting young players, you need a coach who is willing to take calculated risks and promote them with first team players. Scott Sinclair is very similar to Theo . Plays in the wing. Has good pace , Only thing is he is never give the chances Theo is ..
Think about Mancinnne .. He is a under 21 defender, but no way he will break into first team , where even alex and ivanoic is waiting.. di santo , ben sahar, stoch etc .. These players deserve a chance.. . and every time we lose, we are looking for hunters, villa, benezema , that 40 MM invested on academy will bear rich dividents ..
this just my take. history – If I was a player, I would like to part of a team which create history rather than being at a historical place..
BTW, LFS & Ray Wilkins underestimated burnsley and got the tactic wrong..
CARLING CUP IS NOT WORTH IT . LETS ARSENAL FOOL WIN THIS CUP. CHELSEA MUST WIN THE
CL AND EPL THIS YEAR.
This is how I saw it last night:
http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/main/s379/st136088.htm
i really feeel sorry for chelsea youngsters
they are never gonna get into the first team
guys have faith, its just coca cola cup. we need to save our legs for EPL and CL. i don´t mind losing FA cup either. It was embarassing yesterday, but i respect LFS´s squad selection yesterday. He setup a squad that could challenge teams like Burnley, unluckily that went wrong, but atleast he saved some energy for the EPL match this week…..i´d be more embarrased if we loose against West BRom this week, so LFS better prove our worth in the next match….for me EPL is the most prestigious thing in England.
Going through credit crunch and global economic recession, i don´t think RA will risk buying a new manager….I´d only be happy if LFS can learn through his mistakes, he´s done plenty already…..
Scolari is still adapting in English football, we should have won the match with the team that does not start every week, we should have given the chances to the likes of Sincliar, Stoch, and then if we still lost, that is fine with me
three match ban for drogba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we miss ballack badley
i dont think it will be a 3 match ban he was shown a yellow card so he cant be bannesd 4 3 matches that will be a pity if it happen that will rule him out of arsenal clash we know didier vs arsenal
I think it will be a one match ban with a fine
This is for all of you Arsenal fans!
Wenger plays a young team. So what? Anyone can play a young team but a team like Chelsea has very high standards we cannot afford to lose points. We don’t want the fourth place in the premier league. And we are not playing for the fourth place. We want to be champions. Arsene Wenger on the other hand has no ambition and even the Arsenal clubs does not have ambition. They are happy with the fourth. If Roman tells Scolari that he would still be in job as long as Chelsea finished fourth in the league, Scolari can take lots of risks, he can even play his sons and nephews (daughters and nieces in Arsenal LC).
Arsene Wenger and the board at Arsenal have masterminded a conspiracy. This theory is strongly believed by the Arsenal fans. When Arsenal wanted to build the stadium they had to borrow and all that. From the football side, they wanted to earn as much money as possible. So, they’ll buy cheap and young players, sell them for a high price later on. That’s the strategy. What this does is reduces the player purchase cost and increases the player sales revenue. Wil this affect their title chances. Yes it will, but who cares? The fans do, just fuck the fans. This whole conspiracy will be packaged so nicely in the name of ‘grooming youngsters’ that the deluded fans would buy it. They don’t even know that they are being taken for a ride.
What Wenger and the Board want is to stay in the champions league and that’s why as long as their fourth position is not challenged, Wenger would not make any serious purchases. See, this type of risks can be taken only when you’re not ambitious and your board backs you fully even if you don’t achieve anything for 5 years. Tell any of the top managers that they don’t have to win the PL or CL for 4 consecutive seasons, they can do wonders. They can do a better job than Wenger. Jose Mourinho was absoutely right when he said Wenger is under no pressure to perform. As long as Arsenal earns the champions league money, the board won’t touch Wenger. Wenger can risk playing in any style and play any youngster and get away with defeats or fourth place saying “we are a team in transition”, “this team has great potential” etc. On the other hand, if he wins, he will be lauded as the saviour of football. So he has struck a win-win strategy.
Give 500 million pounds and tell Wenger to win the premier league. He would struggle and would not win. It is not as easy as it sounds. With teenagers you don’t have egos, you have a young bunch you have an unknown commodity who have the desire and hunger to perform. Pressure-wise they are in the same boat as Wenger. If they play well, they’re the heroes. If they don’t, they’re still young, they’ll mature with time. Win-win. When you have high profile players, to play all of them, drop some of them, to get their form back in track and to manage the people issues and still play to win the title and to win it, is lot more difficult than playing a bunch of teenagers with readymade excuses in the pocket.
But now, Arsenal fans have woken up to this conspiracy. They have started questioning Wenger on why he is not spending the money while the board says Wenger is allowed to spend 50 million pounds. May be, Wenger saves it for the board and gets his bonus. There are lots of fans who have been asking for Wenger’s head since 06/07 season. That number has been growing gradually. Now after the Spurs match and Stoke match, the 90% of the fans in the top arsenal blogs all wanted Wenger to go. I can produce fantastic discussions around this. Those who have not woken up yet, those who are still deluded, go around like Jim Carrey in the island created for him, in the movie Truman Show.
Everytime a stupid goner fan comes here, I’ll just copy and paste this comment on the Arsenal conspiracy.
46 @ heyjose – The FA/PL are investigating and Dids can expect a three match ban – Carragher got banned in 2002 when he did the same. Drogba could also face criminal proceedings because the Police are also investigating. If that coin hit a Burnley fan and that fan makes a complaint or the Police can prove intent, Dids is in for serious trouble!!
For Saturday’s game against WBA – Deco is out, Belletti is out and Di Santo won’t even be on the bench – he is out for 4 weeks after tearing his hamstring.
hello all
i might sound a bit philosophical but i feel that this might be the corner that chelsea will turn….in order to achieve the dizzy heights these are the kind of nights required. thank god that this happened in a Carling cup and not in any other place……
being an eternal optimist…(i said Sheva will be a hit at chelsea at the beginning of last season…..but atleast he saved our season with a goal mouth clearance…..) i think it is unfair to blame LFS for the defeat. the boys gave it their all……they did not lose on purpose…i am deeply hurt at the frequency of the F**** words being used in this article …..i can understand the frustration but we can still go on and do the treble n in style too…..
cant u all see a tectonic shift in the way we are playing. it took years for Arsenal and Manu to get a style going. Liverpool dont have it as yet….but we picked it up in such a short while…..Seriously i dont think any other manager (including TSO) can bring that style to us…..imagine if we can get back the swagger (which comes only after a loss) combined with style…..thats a heady combination…..so again i emphasis that i am an eternal optimist and would like to wait until the end of the season to take a dig or bow my head to LFS…….all i want is that please stop the vulgar language that might affect the new fans(under 18)……
Consistency wins titles. We know because we’ve done it. We know what it takes to win a title – grinding out wins every week with cynical, surgical football that gives no quarter. Teams turn up and are beaten before a ball is kicked. We are not consistent enough to win the title as things stand.
I have always said it… Ivanovic MUST be given his chance in the team.. he is class!!!
Ivan Rakitic looks a good prospect. along with Bastian….Deco is past his best…. and cant give his best week in week out like a lampard… therefore get youth!! if not Diego…. try Woods! or Hutchinson.
**For me, Deco, Kalou, Malouda and Ferreira can leave. That should be the best part of £40m. For that we need two wingers and a striker. One £20m striker (Podolski) and two £10 wingers Bastian, and Rakitic), or a permutation thereof. But speculating on buying players is pointless – the ones we have need to do the business this season or we’ll win nothing. We wont sign anyone in January, so they have to until Summer!
JOSE might leave INTER after spat!……should we??
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1927162.ece
There is still the real possibility of a treble. But, not like this.
Again, the wisdom of TSO’s football is quite simple. If you play to win games 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1, you force the team to understand that every game will be a tight struggle and they cannot underestimate any opponent at any time. 2004-2007 Chelsea played boring and ugly football. They played below what their talent could generate. The result was 6 trophies in 3 seasons. Even under Toad, Chelsea nearly got a piece of silverware.
A measure of team discipline is sorely lacking. If not recovered by December, playing for the UEFA Cup next season may not be a distant nightmare.
time to laugh:
some guy quoted ” I feel bad for wright phillips, He finally gets away from Chelsea and now Mourinho’ll come in and spend Man city’s milions and he’ll be left warming the bench… shoulda went to Arsenal when you had the chance Shaunie..”
We beat Wigan with kids, you couldn’t beat Burnley with your first team. That’s proper ‘big time’. Anyway, I’m rambling here. I’d best leave you to work with those ‘big time’ players..
LOL… son son son.. listen to the venom in your voice. Go ahead and dream big on your plasticware trophy and we will keep holding our PL top spot. Trolls like this guy will put and even bigger smile on my face when we tonk his team senseless later this month.
Be sure to come back and post your true feelings after the whistle blows Nov 30th. We here at BC will be waiting with baited breath.. :)
@23. PESA
Pesa please to compare Grant to Sollari is like comparing dark chocolate
with sh*t.
The sh*t being the toad, this happens in football, it is only proof that even to the best
managers in the world things sometimes goes wrong.
The difference is one is a very very successful manager and the other was/is a wannabe.
I hink Pesa is either AV or israeli lol.
AV got a team in turmoil, my arse, he got a team with the abit of winning and just carried on what the master
showed him, and not even the sympathy card saved or earned hin the players respect.
Pesa where is Grant? he is managing any world class team? I heard that Man City is looking for a world class manager, though I think Mark Hughes is damn good, why dont they go and get “tyhe toad”?
Leave you to think about.
Happy Gooner ad some points you can agree with, or at list think about.
But what’s easier? Call him “a stupid goner fan comes here”
BC say
“Arsene Wenger and the board at Arsenal have masterminded a conspiracy”
The conspiracy is in your head BC, poor BC who can only count on the open wallet of RA and not on the true long term romantic football mind like Wenger and his board. And when this wallet will be closed and it will sooner than later, you will find yourself with nothing!!!!
Any ways I love your lose that only show how pathetic you where with your anti
Grant blog
May I wish you many loses to come.
BTW
AG winning percentage =66.67%
LFS winning parentage =66.67%
Funny?
AG loses percentage=9.26%
LFS loses percentage =11.11%
Not funny!!!!!
BFDS, unfortunately there is a small defect in your calculation system….if scolari had played only 2 games, in which he won one and lost the other, you´d come to a conclusion that his winning percentage is 50% and losing percentage is 50%. and you can´t judge someone like that, can you? So wait till end of the season. If it looks bad still as well, we´d join you too. but for now stop being over pessimistic.
LFS has to be blamed for the defeat. God ( & probably LFS) knows what thought was given to team selection. Not even one player from reserve side started ? If we have key injuries, we don’t even know how these players would perform – was sad about Scott Sinclair, This guy got 4 starts under Avram Grant, but now looks like will be loaned for 2 months just in time for FA . Again there would not guarantee to start if we draw a PL or championship team.
Drogba is fool who should have been sold in the summer and should have got the money worth ( atleast there were reports from marsielle) . Now he may not play next three games and god knows about the police inquiry.. If an youngster does that , probably we can talk about lack of experience, but this guy is big fool. never learns .still remember his foolish action in champions league final.. after all these I doubt any club will buy him.

Arsenal fans, where were you when you were getting beaten by the likes of Fulham? And losing to Hull City in your so called fortress as Walcott calls it. Your team lacks the physical capabilities to even hang with a team like Stoke City, and now you want to crawl out of your hiding places to bash Chelsea? You will all eat your words when you come to Stamford Bridge on the 30th, I promise you that.
Beautiful football at the expense of our “feared” tag and power status? I’d gladly take the latter. It’s hardly beautiful if your losing every second game and then winning the next 10-0. LFS has definitely transformed Chelsea. He’s made us human. We now have imagination and creativity but we’re prone to mistakes and error. Bring back the old Chelsea that would churn out 1-0 and 2-0 wins. or even the Jose days where we would go down 1-0 at half time and score 2 goals in the next half. That’s a lot more exciting then the crap i see nowadays. We’re almost like a Brazil now. We can embarrass some teams that want to play. but when we come up against teams that want to defend, we’re lost. We lose confidence in our ability and mentally we’re not as strong.

Wenger plays a young team. So what? Anyone can play a young team but a team like Chelsea has very high standards we cannot afford to lose points.
Chelsea has a young team? Try playing Scott Sinclair and your young turks and Chelsea will end up relegated next season.

Give 500 million pounds and tell Wenger to win the premier league. He would struggle and would not win. It is not as easy as it sounds.

In case you just joined in the Chelsea bandwagon fan club when Mourinho was around, Arsene Wenger was already here since 1998. He won 3 PL, 4 FA Cups, including 2 Doubles and an unbeaten season. And the squad he built was on the cheap. Wenger knew Anelka since he was a young kid, came to Arsenal for a few thousand pounds, and later LeSulk wanted to go Real Madrid for 22 million pounds. A good piece of business. You can’t blame Wenger it was good business without screwing up the team. Wenger brought to the footballing world the likes of Thierry Henry, Petit, George Weah, Fabregas, and the likes. He creates champions. Your quote up there is pure bollocks and bullsh*t. Is that a valid excuse after losing to Burnley?
And by the way, Sir Alex Ferguson came to Man U and had no success to boast about during his first 5-10 years. And Man U supporters were wanting his scalp back then.

LOL, if we play Scott Sinclair, Mancienne, Stoch etc we’ll surely challenge you for your ‘coveted’ fourth place that you crave for :-)
In 10 years in a so-called top club, 3 PL is something like a norm. In fact, the competition was only between Arsenal and Man Utd. So he lost out badly to Fergie. By the way, Chelsea’s 04-05 season was the best in English football. I rate it higher than Arsenal 03-04. It was sweet that after that high of Arsenal, Chelsea toppled them and surpassed them. History made! Success stories are there for every manager. If I pull up similar stories for other managers, it won’t stop. I’ll say it again – Give 500 million pounds and tell Wenger to win the premier league. He would struggle and would not win. It is not as easy as it sounds.
And you know, these frustrations are vented out by the Arsenal fans, not by me. If you spend more time on Arsenal blogs than on Chelsea blogs, you would know that. You want me to put those long comments from Arsenal blogs where fans are crying and weeping about this bloody conspiracy?
You say,

Mr. Arsenal fan – Wenger has been here since 1996 and not 1998. Learn your stuff from a Chelsea fan!
What I see, BC, is a fickle supporter who will find yet another chance to somehow slag Anelka in a match he didn’t participate in.
If Chelsea were to elevate themselves into an authentic top club with a history to boast of they need to surpass the likes of Everton, Newscastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa, whom Chelsea still lacks behind in terms of trophies.
The top 3 are undisputably Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal in that order.
poor Arsenal supporters , wasant it your dear lovable boy Fabregas who said Arsenal ladies team cld beat Spurs, but they dint play their ladies team did they, it was their kindergarden team, ‘we played 10 players who were under 22, blah blah blah’, so what the shit did you achieve Gooners?? ur youngsters (whom you stole from other big academies anyways) dont stay here do they, Senderous was once a promising young centre half ready to become a great, what happened?? off to Milan, young GK Kuzyack was going to be a sensation btween the posts, what happened?? hardly plays, Rosicky was gonna burn the pitch up, what happened?? supossedly in the hospital, nobody even knows if hes alive or not, Hleb??? advertised himself, now at Barca, Flamini?? see ya arse, now at Milan, so keep the youngsters coming, they are not yours and they wont do anything for you, stepping stones and advertising boards, that is all thats left of Arsenil now!!
Oh and btw, if Anelka was a reject(at 19) bought for abt 250, 000 i think it was, and sold for more than 21 million pounds then you my dear friend are straight from a mental hospital…good day…
Didier charged by the FA

I think Chelsea is suffering from Arsentis?
Cheers
It could be the team that plays WBA tomorrow. Deco is 50/50, Ballack and A.Cole are on the bench.
——————Cech—————-
-Bosingwa–Ivanovic–Terry–Bridge-

–Deco——————–Lampard–
-Kalou——-Anelka——-Malouda—
bluebayou: dont think it is göing to be the same football as Ranieri era – Scolari knows very well that first and foremost, we have to win and even then it is time to look at the way we did it.
Ad Drogba – very happy finally to see him playing well and scoring a goal that reminded me of his best. But very unhappy for his antics afterwards – it seems to prevent him from several games from now on, which means for us to rely on unpredictable Anelka with Di Santo out as well… very, very shaky up-front now…
Ad starting line-up – so we have some flamboyant wingers in the reserve team – Sinclair, Stoch… and what? Scolari has to realise that this is not a tournament anymore and it is not possible to put his best 11 for every single match of about 80 during the season. We have to try more players from B-team, or the whole famous Chelsea “turn to the academy”, as announced in the press recently, will come out as a crap.
When is Fabio Paim going to get a chance to play?
Tha boy will as good as Nani or even better, given the chance
and if he behaves himself.
Chelsea may have won more points in 04/05 but didn’t go unbeaten.
And that is what counts. The 04/05 is just a season in which Chelsea were champions.
Arsenal 03/04 were not only champions but also unbeatable. You’ve got champions each season, but unbeatable ones? Twice in the history of English football.
Anyway, good luck with dead wood like Mineiro.
