Some good news on the forwards’ front. Sheva’s Milan deal is off, Chelsea have taken Fabio Paim on loan and Robinho could be ours at £32m. Firstly, the news on Shevchenko. Many papers/websites report that Chelsea’s deal with Milan for Sheva is off. It appears that Chelsea wants to sell but Milan wants him on loan with a part of the salary paid by Chelsea. I agree with Chelsea’s stance. Either he is sold or he stays. He should not go on loan to Milan. We bought him from Milan for £30m and if they want him back on loan for half his salary, I have no other option than to show them my finger.
If Sheva really wants to move to Milan, I’m sorry for him. Didn’t he tell the fans on Chelsea TV interview that he can still be a Chelsea legend? If he really wants to stay at Chelsea, we should let him. Like JM did, Scolari should allow Sheva to start in a string of 20 matches or so, that is unless he doesn’t get injured. He can certainly come good. He might have lost his pace but his intelligent movements and finishing skills are still there. His downfall at Chelsea has something to do with his mind. He lacks confidence and hence has that fear of failure. If Scolari is ready to motivate Anelka and Malouda to bring out the best from them, he can do the same with Sheva too.
That Fabio has joined Chelsea, is what all the papers claim. The one that I’m waiting for doesn’t say that yet. I’m tired of refreshing the club website to see if this is true. Let me know if it’s there. Just to comfort you, this news is already on FIFA.com and on the official website of Sporting Lisbon. So, it’s done deal. I don’t think Fabio comes in for the bench role. With his loan being for a one-year period with an option to buy, we need to test him to decide whether we need him or not. Last thing I want to see is Chelsea sending him back to Portugal, only for our rivals to pick him up and make him a world player of the year. So we should play him enough to see what he can offer. I’m sure that the league cup is all about the Fabios and Santos. But we should have them play in the premier league too. I was terribly upset to see SWP come in at the 80th minute when we were leading 3-0 against a surrendered Pompey. That was exactly the time to bring on Di Santo. I hope Scolari uses these chances to show us these starlets.
Guardian reports that Real Madrid has set a price of £32m for Robinho. I’d it’s a bit too much for Robinho. If you ask me, I would not go beyond £20m. But now that we have Darren Bent going for £16m, Carrick for £18m, Barry being quoted at £18m and Arshavin at £20m, I can’t blame Real Madrid. We are in an inflated market. I would be a hypocrite to use the term ‘inflated market’ because we’ve had our share of polluting the transfer market. Whether we should go for a £32m Robinho should completely depend on how much Scolari wants him. Scolari might say that he has spent only £8m so far, which is on Deco. We saved about £8m – £10m with that bargain deal. He might want to use that money in Robinho’s deal. By all probabilities, Peter Kenyon with return to London with Robinho.
Man City have signed Kompany while Arsenal have signed Silvestre. So funny. Arsenal have also let Hoyte go and their fans are fuming. Man Utd haven’t signed any. Liverpool’s got Robbie Keane but he has shown no signs of anything special. We’re better off, aren’t we? We’ve got three new faces in the first premier league match – Scolari, Bosingwa and Deco; and all these three are featuring in the premier league team of the week. And to top it all, there is not even one Man Utd player in the premier league team of the week.
Some news on the upcoming match. I see Wigan players coming up with some words of confidence. Some really strong words such as ‘win’, ‘victory’, ‘three points’ and the like. Wigan has never been a problem for us. While the Red clubs are all worried at the sight of Chelsea this season, it’s strange to find Wigan talking like this. I can’t blame them. Teams play with football with an intention of winning the match, no matter who they play. Even otherwise I don’t expect to them to tell the press ‘we’re gonna be stuffed’. But I’m not sure if Wigan would play to win. If there words are any indication, they should play an open game instead of parking the proverbial bus in front of the goal. But I fully expect Wigan to go eleven behind the ball and not even venture into our half. They need a goal from the heaven to disturb our customary clean sheet, leave alone winning the match.
And finally, some interesting football topic. Juande Ramos says that one of the most unpleasant things that exist in the game is the overlapping of the business end of the summer transfer window with the early weeks of the premier league season. I’m sure I’ve thought this way before. Why don’t we complete all the transfers and close the transfer window before we kick off the season? Of course the January window would be right in the middle of the season. That’s ok. With most of the important transfers happening in the summer transfer window, it is plain logic that we close the window before we start the season. What do you say?

I’m not sure if we should give £32m for Robinho…….Real Madrid are pushing it…..this is getting on my nerves….some papers are reporting it’s a done deal , some are reporting it’s failed…..another Ronaldo episode…. Calderon is a lousy hypocrite…..The transfer window should be closed before the seasons opening match.period.
Hey great news that sheva stays on, would love to see how Big Phil will motivate and use him in any of the formations, if he wants he can give him some carling cup/FA Cup action just to get the hang of things before making it to a premier league start. I wonder how he’ll add Paim though, in any premier league game, i mean…
I dont know why we are so adamant on signing some big named midfielder (ref. to the Kaka story in the press) or winger (Robinho saga) ! In my opinion we already have big named midfielders so theres no need for kaka & if hes motivated enough by scolari, Malouda can do a good enough pairing with joe cole so really theres no need to spend £32 million on Robinho for a club that wants to break-even in the coming years..What say ?
I think the story in tribalfootball.com is most likely to be the truth with the bid for Robinho improved to to 28.4milions pounds. This amount is reasonable for Robinho in today’s market. We received almost the same ( 27 -28 milions pounds ) for Robben when madrid came calling last season. Kenyon should do everything in bringing him to the bridge he will be a good addition. There will be competion for Joe Cole and Malouda is not reliable. SWP is not even in contention in my opinion.
i think that the wigan match will be a high-scoring match (for chelsea), and with 10 or 15 minutes left, why not bring on di santo, or if hes with the club, paim. since joe cole rarely completes a full game, paim could be a great backup for him.
the only question is how many goals will we score?
Great news “Sheva Stays”.I just love him.I really wonder when Sheva has said this recently “Its injuries which has kept me out of action most of the times and if i could find myself fit this season i would love to leave a mark in Chelsea’s history” then why do we wish to sell him back to Milan or send him on loan ???.When Malouda or SWP can stay, why cant he ???.Why cant Scolari sit with him and give him some confidence.Everybody have almost furgot that Sheva was an Icon player in Milan, like Lamps for Chelsea. If you calculate his no of appearances,no of minutes he spent on the field and the no of goals he scored,I tell you he would still have come good for us.His game is far superior that Anelka and Malouda’s.I really really wish Scolari helps him gain form.As BC has said he has lost his pace may be but his intelligence and finish is still there for praises.
I honeslty doesnt wish to splash money on Robinho. Now that Fabio has joined us,lets see if we can fit him in the main 11 at the first place.I no idea abt this new kid but wish he doesn well here.We dont really have to go all the way down to bring Robinho to bridge as R.Madrid did for Ronaldo.Because we already have a fantastic squad and coach.
Hey BC i also saw the statements from Wigan side, poor guys. They’ll get the answers on the match day.
I cant wait for the next match….
Vá Chelsea Vão…..
roma is going to make a offer for sheva. i really think this time robinho will come. real madrid is able to get a good replacement. when they wanted ronaldo they started to talk bad to man utd and alex furgeson and blatter called ronaldo a slave. the robinho case is the same only that ronaldo means moore to man utd than robinho means to real and still they wont let him go. isnt robinho more of a slave than ronaldo then?
Pretty confident Robinho will be at chelsea before the transfer window shuts as he has come out and said that he wants to join chelsea, he is upset with real madrid not allowing him to go to the olympics and he is not happy with his wages (around 40K i think). We are just waiting for Real Madrid to find a replacement and then Robinho will be a blue.
If the deal does happen tho i wold like someone to leave, maybe shevchenko, maybe malouda or wright phillips as we would have too many players. A cash plus player offer to Madrid could be an option

Great News
Hi Blue Champions,
I’ll put this out as plainly and simple as I can: “Chelsea needs forwards”.
Cheers
i dunno why u guys keep on complaining about robinhos price.
32 million for a player of his quality is amazing,
he is as gd as cristiano ronaldo and hes available for half ronaldos price!
all of u were complaining about the age of our players. robinho is 24!
i think for 32 million robinho would be amazing!
CHELSEA 4 LIFE!
i would have been happy with 25 mil, 32 is letting him go for real’s demands, which is exactly what we don’t want to be doing when we always get raped in prices. Still would probably want him for 32 mil, but gah i hate seeing chelsea being buggered up the transfer bum bum.
we do need a forward who can double as a winger though, he could be perfect for us so i’ll let it slide this one last time.
Hi Blue Champions,
Sorry, just browsed through the previous post and it is entitled: “Striker Crisis”. Everybody knows Chelsea needs decent forwards after Drogba, because his not going to be firing every single match after match he needs supports and as Shevchenko is low on confidence in manner he play’s.
Chelsea should have built their club on the mould of Madrid, just become a decent professional unit, how hard is it to do this.
I thought these guys were supposed to be intelligent?
Maybe Blue Champion should help them out?
Don’t buy these dud players, Kalou, Anelka, Shechenko etc. Instead buy the next Arjen Robben and Fernando Torres etc.
Cheers
Hi Bluechampions,
I don’t like this idea of a forward backing up as a winger.
We don’t need wingers, we need forwards.
Cheers
It seems now that if Chelsea have the £32m, then Robinho is ours. Personally, I’m sick to death of the whole saga and care nothing for anyone new coming in or anyone from the team going out – especially Sheva. While it’s puzzling as to the reasons he has never shined at the Bridge, you can’t just sign him off as rubbish. How can a guy who was World Player of the Year (like twice – not sure??) the next day be nothing in your eyes. Shevchenko is pure class and always will be in mind, although I have no real explanation why it hasn’t sparked for him at Chelsea. But if someone can motivate him and get him back to where he was, it is Scolari. If he leaves or isn’t given the chance, then obviously the coach doesn’t rate him and sees no place for him in his plans. For me though, I would give him a good run and still place him before Anelka.
@12. Pensioner
If I remember correctly JM was sacked in part because of that.He didnt (at least looked like it) want Sheva but he was imposed to him.
It is real hard for a manager to plan for long term (get young players) when your boss demands instant success.
@16 Miguel C
Look what Alex Ferguson did with G. Neville and D. Beckham etc.
Ferguson moulded a squad of youngsters and still won the Barclays league.
It can be done.
All I’m after is that Chelsea become more intelligent in the make-up of the squad. I’m not asking who ever coach to bring in young players but just be more like Madrid have a squad of superstars.
Cheers
Lado Strasbourg, France I have been waiting for this day since this nonsense move to a club which has zero tradition and respect for the best players in the world full with jealous players. Some people say Sheva, second leading goalscorer in the history of european football, came here for money!! A joke, first of all everybody should remember that Milan offered him the same salary when he wanted to leave, do you really think that even if it was not so, 20,000 euros difference in a month makes any differnce??? His wife had too much influence on him because he is a modest person who came from the hell of the nuclear catastrophy in chernobil. He just wanted his kids to be in an english environnement’ his wife insisted), and cheslea players and the coach jealous of his accomplishements treated him like nothing. Who was the Golden Ball in 2004??? Was it Drogba , Lampard or any other physical TANK in the cheslea sqyuad?? Or was it Mourinho who wanted to prove to Abramovich that he has the power to do anything. Enough about the past. The most glorious day has come for the football history, SHEVA IS BACK in the only shirt that fits him like he was born in it. MILAN AC, the greatest club in the world who appreciates its players and has the culture and traditions that compares to noone, especially to the new billionnaires like chelsea. Remeber my words when one day the Rossoneri leaded by SUPERSHEVA will humiliate Chelsea in the champions league, i just want to, see Lampards; Obi mikels and company live this glorious day. Cheslea’s treatement of Sheva was a crime. FORZA SHEVA , FORZA MILAN
its a done deal…SHEVA IS BACK TO MILAN….i wish him the best and i hope he can reclaim his status back as a fearsome striker he was before….goodbye sheva…i think the robinho prcie his just too much…the marjket is crazy and i must tell you…we caused it….i would still love to have him with us thou….
Shevchenko came to Chelsea because his wife wanted to live in an English-speaking country, because he was Abramovich’s son’s favourite player, and because he was made an offer he couldn’t refuse. Anyone who remembers him in the last world cup should recall a player who had lost his physical edge which in turn affected his confidence. The English media could not believe that Chelsea paid an English league record fee for a player of his age who was obviously past his peak, and who had never played in a league where pace is the number one quality required, unlike Serie A where the emphasis is on passing. He will never be the world player of the year again because he is too old and is no longer the same player. I thought he should be given a chance when he came to Chelsea. He was and he wasn’t up to it, but the major problem was that his heart had been left in Milan. Every time he was injured, instead of supporting the team he was back in Italy hanging with his old team-mates, larging it with the Milan lads, or playing golf. He played so much golf he got his handicap down to 2! His first comment on returning to Milan was that it was better than winning the Champions League. So far I have seen no comments from him thanking the Chelsea fans for their support and sticking by him, which the majority of them did. Now that his shaky legs have been re-united with his heart back in Milan, will the fanboys stick with Chelsea or follow their beloved “Sheva” back to Milan?
