Chelsea 4-0 Portsmouth | Scolari starts with a bang!

I wanted Chelsea to win. I wanted us to win handsomely. I wanted a cleansheet. I wanted Lampard to play well. I wanted Deco to give a telling performance. I wanted us to top the table after this first round of premier league. I got it all in this fantastic match where Chelsea made the FA Cup champions look like relegation battlers. In the last one week, we have seen all our top four rivals play two matches each. Now we can fairly reassure ourselves that Chelsea are the best prepared of the lot.

Arsenal were lucky to win their matches against Twente and West Brom. Liverpool did not deserve their two results. Man Utd could not win their home league match against Newcastle who they beat heaily last season, home and away. The team that Man Utd could not beat in full time last week, were mauled by Chelsea today. We should have very easily scored more than half a dozen goals. That tells you Chelsea are tipped by every expert to regain the title this season from Man Utd.

We were all curious about was which formation and composition would Scolari play. He surprised me by choosing a 4-3-3. I know that he used it in the pre-season but he was also saying that he is trying something new. Anyway, we have the players for any formation. He surprised me further by playing Deco in the right wing. I knew Deco could play in the wing and in fact, in my FIFA 08 I do play him in the wings, but I didn’t think that he would play Deco in his second choice position in his debut match. As the match progressed, it could see that it was not really a 4-3-3 but in fact was a 4-1-4-1 with the midfield four being a curved one with side midfielders. Deco and Joe Cole were not playing like wingers in a 4-3-3. Not sure how you would agree with me!

In the match, it was Chelsea at their best. We had attacks through the centre, down the wings, interesting corners and even some spicy long shots. We mixed it up so well that Portsmouth had no answers at all. They simply could not match us. They must be relieved that we scored only four. Portsmouth are a good team and it must be so embarrassing for them to have played a match like this. They were simply not in the game.

It was a typical attacking Chelsea in its full flow today. But I noticed a few differences. Firstly, the bombing wing backs, that are a hallmark of Scolari’s teams. Secondly, the versatile midfield play that could dictate a wide range of attacks. And then the unconventional corners. I’m happy that Scolari is focusing on improving our set piece conversion ratio.

The wingbacks were brilliant. Bosingwa really impressed me. That was simply not a debut performance. He played as if he has been playing in the premier league for seasons. Finally, we have a right back whose every cross is meaningful. Both Bosingwa and Ashley were pushing up all the time, which put tremendous pressure on Pompey as they had too many Chelsea players to mark. For a good part of the game we had pushed all eleven Pompey players into their own half. Few times I saw that when Cech was preparing for his goal kick, both Ashley and Bosingwa were almost in the attacking third.

While that was brilliant to watch against Portsmouth, I’m curious to see if we’ll employ the same tactic against top four teams. I could see that Mikel did not participate in the attacks. He was completely confined to the defensive duties. He did make a couple of pointless shots though. But credit to Mikel for protecting the defence when Ashley and Bosingwa were away on attack. If I tell you that Mikel did not even get a yellow card while keeping guard, you’ll understand how well Pompey attacked.

And then about the midfield versatility. Deco, in one match, proved why he is expected to transform us with his playmaking abilities. The beautiful thing about Deco is, he does not seem to be in a hurry at all. He has the skill to keep the ball and do what he wants. Whenever Deco had the ball, he alone had more than half a dozen way of dealing with the possession. His wide range of passing plus the other quality midfielders that we had, made it a brilliant midfield game that would put fear in the minds of Sir Alex, Rafa and Wenger.

What was very pleasing to see was how Lampard and Ballack could play alongside him with so much ease. Deco was the clearly the playmaker, pulling the strings and feeding and creating attacks. The fact that he made so many attempted aids proves his role as a playmaker. Just in case you’re not familiar with the term ‘aids’ in football, it is the pass that leads to the assist which in turn leads to a goal.

The first goal was a Ballack special. A very very typical ‘outside of foot’ chip from Ballack, gave a somewhat surprised Joe Cole, a golden chance on a plate. And boy, didn’t Joe Cole finish it well! Joe Cole as a second striker for England has impressed me before because of his finishing skills. I’m ready to forget that FA Cup semi final against Liverpool where he had a golden chance to put us back into the game on the virtually the last moment of the match. Generally, Joe Cole is a fantastic finisher. The second goal goes to Anelka’s credit. Timely jump and good, safe header. In a match like this one, Lampard had to score. It came from a well taken penalty, after an attempted cross from Joe Cole induced a hand ball. Finally, the encore. It was justice that Deco scored on his debut. He thoroughly deserved it. That was a fantastic strike from a good distance. I think he surprised James there. James was not really expecting a long shot from Deco and in a flash the ball was too close to him to be stopped.

Lampard and Ballack too had a great game. Lampard in particular, hardly got anything wrong. He was great going forward and won back possession for us so many times. He was I guess trying fill in for Essien. Talking about winning the ball, I was surprised how well Deco was tackling and restoring possession. That’s when I thought Deco has truly merged with our team. He had a truly high work rate. Did anyone else also notice that he was often in the left back area and proceeded to his right wing with a series of one-twos and he did that many times. He was trying to fill in spaces when we were not in attack. And there was this moment in the second half, in the centre of the pitch, Joe Cole lost the possession but in some anger and vengeance he fought and got the ball in just few seconds. The spirit was all over. Every single player played with some purpose. It appeared that the roles of the players were clear and they had understood and executed their roles very clearly.

There were also some negatives from the match. Ballack’s injury was a worry. Scolari fears that it could keep him out for a week or two. But we are getting Essien back in time for the next match. Anelka was not really sharp enough. If he was sharper, he’d have got atleast one more goal for himself. On many occasions, he was slow to react, he wasn’t even reading the game properly. Mostly, he was playing as the centre forward but towards the end of the match, he was again found loitering in various zones of the pitch.

Malouda could have been better but he was better than what he was last season. I’d surely give him more games. He’s shows some promise. I wonder why SWP was given the chance, while we could have tested Di Santo. Leading 3-0 at home with 20 odd minutes to go was the right time for someone like Di Santo to make a debut.

The biggest negative was the central defence. This must be a strange statement for two reasons. One is we got a cleansheet and another is we had Terry and Carvalho in the central defence. The fact is, we weren’t too comfortable in the box defending today. We got out of jail because we could throw in a lot of bodies, thanks to these high work rate players. Not once or twice, but more number of times, we were shaky in defending the goal. It was evident as Cech tried to collect the ball in areas where he should let the centre backs manage it themselves. Anyway, I guess our defence would improve when we play more and more with the new system and methods.

Elsewhere, Man Utd started their season with a draw. They were missing key players but I have no
sympathy for them. When Chelsea were missing two goalkeepers and centre backs, they marched ahead and won the title in 06-07. If Chelsea’s game is an indication of anything to come, Man Utd will succumb, injuries or otherwise.

Wisey wanted this. Here’s our MoTM poll:

Do you think John Terry will leave for Man City?

Thanks to all those who were at BC Shout for the live match chat. It was really good fun with more than 250 messages exchanged in about 90 minutes. We’ll join again at BC Shout for the Wigan match. Let’s see if we can beat our own chat record.

Chelsea were great against Portsmouth but I don’t want to start dancing already. We beat a team at home, that we have always beaten comfortably at home. I’m very very curious how this new Chelsea team would play against the top teams. Unfortunately the nearest top team encounter is only in the third week of September when we play Man Utd, almost at the same time as last season. Until then, let’s thrash the other teams on the way. The message is loud and clear to the reds: ‘be afraid, be very afraid‘.

GREAT PERFORMANCE….

Hi Guy’s.. Today we saw the difference between good manager……and dummy manager(Avram Grant) , Within few week’s BIG PHIL was able to change our chelsea.

DECO is a real playmaker……We can play sexy, passing, wining football with the same player’s we had last season.. GREAT

THIS YEAR WE WILL WIN EPL ……….. No Doubt in that…..

Poor ManU…….held to draw by Newcastle…..Again it is same old story:-”Without Ronaldo… Manu cannot Win”

2. Pensioner - 18th Aug

I saw with my own eyes just how good this Deco fellow really is.

Well done, Deco.
Cheers

you know what, both anelka and malouda didn’t play half bad today. Give them a few more games to prove themselves, then we really could live without robinho and even drogba! still might need a half decent cover for anelka though.

if drogba still wants to leave let him

would huntleaar be ok as cover, or is he a bit too good for that? don’t know very much about him. Although kalou could be fine i guess, not sure if i trust him if anelka gets injuried against top teams though. Di santo won’t play according to LFS. Drogba would be the ideal but he is grumpy and wants to leave, so i’d rather have someone who wanted to play for the team i love, no matter if they’re nowhere near as good.

4. Dutch & Blue - 18th Aug

@cap123

I’m from holland. And i see huntelaar play regurarly. But i’m affraid he isn’t good enough for the EPL. Besides that, strikers like drogba & anelka have a great physique, pace, and have already proven themselves in the EPL…

5. bluefan #1 - 18th Aug

ive said it beafore and i say it again. karim benzema is the man for chelsea.

6. Johnarejr - 18th Aug

One big win on the first match of the season DOES NOT PUT SILVERWARE IN THE TROPHY CASE! Doesn’t anyone remember how last season thrashed Man City 6-0 under Avram Grant last season? And what the heck did we win? NOTHING! Scolari could turn out a looser too.
With that said, what a heck of a start! I didn’t get a chance to see the match (it wasn’t broadcast of Fox Soccer Channel and I was in church all day). But, from what I read on the BBC, the players have adjusted well to Scolari’s style of play. Some want to say that Portsmouth played a bad game. Heck, they drew Man U last weekend. So they should have known not to step in the ‘Bridge without their “A” game. Redknapp & Co., and I do like Pompey, should have known better. I’m not buying that excuse. Chelsea outplayed and outclassed them.
I hope the injury situation is not too serious. They may be just the opening day dents and dings. That’s to be expected. As for the return of Kalou, I believe this will be a good season for him.

PRAYING FOR THE CFC QUADRUPLE 2008-2009!!!!

7. henry - 18th Aug

It was good win, but again it is too early . Man U started last season with 2 points from first three games and the next three games were 1-0 wins. They turned tide after that.

The last two seasons, we lost EPL because of nagging injuries. To add to Arun CFC comment, I think without Ronaldo and Tevez or Rooney ( 2 of three missing), Man U finds it difficult to score.

8. Wisey - 18th Aug

What an opener to the season huh!! Exactly the best we could have hoped for. I thought Cole and Deco were magnificent and are passing was great. I watched Everton/Blackburn and Sunderland/Liverpool and they were both typical week 1 fixtures. Lot of stray passing, untidy ball-work, no real flow or link-up from back to front. Recent seasons I recall Chelsea was the same way and I usually don’t expect teams to really tighten up their play for a few games. But today, Chelsea looked like a team in mid-season. A few bad passes yes, but overall I was impressed with the start. I really like Boswinga. His going forward, along with his speed, is really gonna create things in a way we have not seen from our RB’s as of late. I also especially liked to see Scolari actually EXCITED when we scored a goal and showed a bit of passion on the sideline, unlike last year when all we ever saw was that dour look. Great game and as I said before – Sep 21 I want to see us top of the table with 15 points. Now that would be a great start!

9. Wisey - 18th Aug

Btw, BC, do you do a MotM voting poll for each game on this site? Was just wondering.

10. MiguelC - 18th Aug

The squad is just fine the way it is.
As soon as Drogba and Essien are back from their injuries Chelsea dont really need any other new players, that would just unbalance team.Theres plenty of options and covers in case something happens (read injuries).
Instead of bringing new players why not give a chance to youngsters? When January comes and if REALLY theres a need for one or two players then would be the right time.

11. cap123 - 18th Aug

i’m saying that if drogba leaves we might be in trouble miguel. He says he still has high hopes for leaving before this transfer window is over. I’m fine with anelka, but if he gets injured, relying on di santo and kalou may be a problem against the big guns.

Against 50-75% of the league it would be fine, but CL matches and the top 6 or whatever might be another story if all our carefully placed passes are wasted on a nervous di santo or pressure ridden kalou! You might only get one or two chances in a game against man united or barca. Just saying.

12. MourOfEssien - 18th Aug

What a fantastic start. Absolute magical. Essien and kalou are not in there yet even. I expect those Two to be in our starting line

13. AgentBlue - 18th Aug

Awesome scoreline today…..
Cant get to see the matches live where Im at so I have to rely on footytube highlights

Lets not get too carried away Mates..We have a loooong season ahead of us!!!

14. chelsea4life - 18th Aug

Excellent performance….but I was expecting Scolari to introduce Di Santo for last 1- minutes or so..these r the opportunities to test youth players when match is already in the bag…Deco showed what we were missing in last 3-4 seasons…but he surely was out-muscled few times in MF….
regarding Manure,I knew without Ronaldo mid-table teams can make them drop points……so till he arrives we would be better off with 5-8 points lead….

15. heyjose - 18th Aug

drogba is staying he wants to stay not leave

16. stan - 18th Aug

when is essien coming back

anelka is not too good, he miseed alot of chances

i think di santo will do better.

17. trueplatinum - 18th Aug

i disputed your player of the season for 07/08
but in this instance, deco was undisputedly man of the match
Man utd had alot of chances in that match but they seem to need ronaldo to finish the plays
if anyone disputes the versitality of our team, the fact we played a 4-5-1 with 4 central midfielders kind of closes that one
anelka is still showing things that annoy me, but as long as he’s putting the effort in, I can’t complain too much
having two pacy wingbacks is going to destroy alot of league teams, it helps joe cole when he plays on the right as now he doesn’t have to concentrate on going wide and can run down the middle more often
if we keep playing how we did today, it’s nearly impossible to say who will get the golden boot this season, any chelsea player could

18. IwasMissingJose - 18th Aug

some guys want Drogba to leave, and i think it would be a total madness if we lwt him to. We talk about buying a decent striker, and at the same time you are suggesting that one of the best strikers should leave? Talk about best players, lets talk about Ronaldo, that guys was amazing last season, scored 42 goals and bla bla…but is he anywhere near threat when it comes to big games?
now look at Drogba. do you still remember that game against Arsenal? or my sweetest memory, that game game against MU in FA cup final a year earlier? He´s got power and he´s got that ambition that a striker needs. He is ruthless and surprises us with goals when we are desparate to have one. He is the man to watch in big games.
In my opinion, some players do better against weaker teams (SWP may be a good example for that), and some when the club needs them the most. So i expect two squads this season, so that players can get enough rest and enjoy the season. Of course every player wants to play every game, but if we are looking fo that “Historic Quadraple”, i guess they would have to compromise on these things. We don´t want a flaring opening, later only to be torn down with injuries.
and yea finally, Deco was amazing. His pin-point passes and his vision is just superb. I´m sure other players can improve with him. The starting looks very promising, and if we continue this way, we can leave our rivals chewing their own teeth!!!

19. Den - 18th Aug

well we can welcome back essien and kalou for the wigan game, im guessing that essien will just replace ballack in midfield because of ballacks injury, or replace kalou with ballack and put kalou on the left wing, switch joey to right, and deco centrally

20. xenodice - 18th Aug

that was an awesome start to the season, and it gears me up and makes me all excited for the coming games!

chelsea really have got what it takes to achieve really great things this season and this isnt a biased view even though im a true blue fan.

although its true that its too early to say anything, but I CAN’T WAIT to kick some man utd butt this season.

I really like Drogba, when hes motivated its a delight to watch.
Plus, many top clubs are looking for good strikers and simply there arent any good ones “available in market”, at least not without having to pay hefty sums.
Kenyon already stated that “Chelsea doesnt sell its best players” probably because Scolari thinks he can “work him out” and told management he wants him to stay, that could change next season thought as he can buy his own contract then, but for now hes stuck at Chelsea.Between now and then many things will happen and Scolari already passed the message that sometimes this things that come out in the press are induced by player’s agents and he likes what he sees in Drogba trains, so hes sending Drogba the message that he believes in him and at the same time that hes going nowhere for now.
And altought he repeatedly expressed he wants out, he’s the kind of player that gives 100% inside the pitch while moaning outside of it.

When January comes Scolari can evaluate the situation again and at the moment Anelka is doing a fine job and theres also Kanu so theres really no urgency to go out and buy more players which wouldnt help stabilize the team .

22. Girie - 18th Aug

Hi BC,What a game it was !!! truely amazing start for the season. The real strength of our midfield showed in this match. The opponents could hardly touch the ball in the midfield.I was actually happy with Anelka,as he was trying to find the net when ever he had a chance unlike last season.Ballack,He was there just for some 20 – 30 mins until he picked up the injury and substituted but had a golden touch on the ball which led to the first goal of the match. What a chip !!! Lamps and Deco do i have to mention how well they played ? Iam sure our rivals would’ve had nightmares of getting crushed by us.Bosingwa was really good.Ashley cole,he nearly did a sliding finish to increase the number from a Malouda cross. In simple words everybody played well.It was a very well deserved victory.I wish to meet Gooners as soon as possible,so that we can make a dent in their history. The result is a certain ringing bell for all the EPL teams not to undermine us..

BLUE IS THE COLOR……………………………GO CHELSEA GOOOOOOOOOO

23. owonatty - 18th Aug

@ BC,
Mikel should be among MotM contender ahead of Bosingwa.

24. TrueBlueInd - 18th Aug

Hi guys,

Quite an amazing start to the season. Rival fans can say all crap like Portsmouth is a bad team n all, but the truth is that Chelsea played at a different level yesterday. In fact, I would say this was a better team performance than the 6-0 trashing of Man city last year.

I think Ballack, Lampard & Deco were amazing together. Anelka was looking happy for a change and was showing some desire & purpose on the field.Everyone contributed well.A great team effort.

The best part about the game for me was Cech returning to form. He looked calm, confident & composed. I hope his Euro nightmares are over.

Liverpool & Arsenal Struggled. United keep showing that they are a team dependent on 1 man. I don’t know how Sir Alex can call this his best ever team. They dont have proper back up for any position. This team cant win without Ronaldo.Their success over the last 2 seasons has been because of him. However,it is definitely Sir Alex’s LUCKIEST ever team.

I hope we can continue the fine form and keep gathering maximum points.

Cmon Chelsea

25. Tommaso - 18th Aug

Luckiest team ever…?really?why would you say that?what happened to the deflections of chelsea…?Im a united fan just popping in too see how things are over on the blue side…i must say i was really impressed with the way chelsea played but long way to go…wel be happy with 1-0s now till mr ronaldo comes back lol!and tevez, nani, hargreaves, anderson…and so on…good luck!nah i dont mean that

26. trueplatinum - 18th Aug

with the whole drogba issue, i think drogba is the person adebayor wishes he was and who arsene wenger is hoping he will be
drogba has experience and can bring the rest of the team into play
his style of play does not fade until he is elderly so he could be versatile for another 5 years, i think if we were to switch to a 2 striker formation, you could play drogba on the edge of the box and push anelka, kalou or even swp right up to goal, splitting defenders, giving us power and pace
plus drogba can be a mentor for di santo, that kid has got some height and if he bulks up a little he will have a good career

27. Girie - 18th Aug

Hey tomasso,Thanks for your wishes man.We do want all your players back in the line up mate.We dont beat the dead snake you see.Wish you get all your men back as soon as possible before an encounter with the blues, don mistake us later..lol..

28. Wisey - 18th Aug

Deco as MotM for me, hands down. All around he demonstrated what we are going to get from him all season – more “aids”. Crisp, intelligent football with not a pass wasted. I’ll be beaming when I go into work today and my manure and scouser friends will surely get an ear full.

29. BuildChelsea - 18th Aug

@24. Tommaso ……..are u an offspring of SAF???……..if u had some dignity u wouldn’t imply that only after Ronaldo comes will man u start beating teams comprehensively……..thats just sad…..today Chelsea did it without Drogba , Essien and Ballack(for the most part)……so stop talking nonsense….

30. Steve Clarke - 18th Aug

Teams like Man Utd struggle a lot without key players. All teams struggle when there are injuries to key players. The only exception was the Chelsea under JM. We had so many injuries then but we still went so close and lost the league by 6 points and lost in penalties in champs league semi finals in an away stadium. If Man Utd had suffered the injuries that we had that season, they’d have fallen apart. The Special One made Chelsea special. He set up the heart beat of Chelsea. The heartbeat still follows JM’s principles. Scolari said he has never played with a set of players more professional than these Chelsea bunch, in his life. It is for maintaining this heartbeat, the club paid so much to retain the services of Lampard.

Go Chels! This season belongs to us.

31. IwasMissingJose - 18th Aug

it seems Chelsea´s first game sent shockwaves all over. I can still hear its echos in all newspapers and online sites…..

32. churchill - 18th Aug

@24 youre an idiot.

breaking news- JT named as skipper of england for the world cup qualifiers

33. owonatty - 18th Aug

John Terry Retained the England Captaincy. Reliable and Double Captain. I am impressed by Capello Decision. Very Shocking. Most Pundits never favoured JT again to retain it.

34. chelsea4life - 18th Aug

It was a nice exp watching Chelsea playing champagne footie…but its just first match, so jury is still out…but going by Scolari’s angry reactions one thing is for sure that he won’t tolerate looseness by any player…for the first time I have seen a Chelsea manager getting furious when Mikel took that trademark shot on goal which is weakest and widest off-the-mark in entire European football…..so may be this season Mikel will learn how to shoot the ball on target, and he may even end up scoring few goals….
If rumours abt Kaka for 70m pounds is true then I would hope we go for Auguero with half the money….

35. IwasMissingJose - 18th Aug

@BC can you not please correct this simple error in this blog? our comment numbers keep changing and look at @32,

Reports say we signed kaka for 102 milm euros!!!! From Goal.com

42. Mike Ayad - 18th Aug

@ 41

reports have claimed we would be ABLE to sign him for 102 million euros. now thinking bout the issue i would think carefully about signing him.
firstly: he may ruin the dressing room spirit if he plays bad and the media turns on his back.
secondly: he has recently been plagued with injuries and so may not be worth over 100 million.
thirdly: he may not adapt to the EPL, because the serie a is completely different.

but if scolari thinks its a gd buy let him deal with it becuz i think he is a very smart man and knows what hes doing!

come on you blues!!!

43. Pensioner - 18th Aug

Hi Blue Champions,

Do any of you guys exercise. eg. Go for say about a 20 minute walk?

Because I stopped say for the last 2 months my daily walks.

And to make matters worse I seem to have found myself alot of the time these days buying burgers and mash and gravy for lunch and crisps to snack on.

Don’t worry I’m only 22 yrs old so I’m not going to die.

Please tell me of your experiences?

Cheers

44. Morten - 18th Aug

I really hope we don’t pay 102 million euros for Kaka. We don’t need him. We got enough midfielders and when we signed Deco for £15 million it would be plain stupidity to pay £102 million for a player we actually don’t need.

I don’t want more players now. We crushed Pompey, and tbh i think buying players we don’t need is ridiculous.

45. xerxesk - 18th Aug

well lets see first its not our money is it? Second we should know better then buying from milan, third he is almost 28, fourth he plays as a striker usually and we can use that. I don’t know if we should or or not, what if we buy other player YOUNGER ONES.

the best part of the game was when there were camera shots of drogba and he wasnt lisnening to his ipod

48. Adam Mikhail - 18th Aug

#46 Steven Cohen agrees.

49. JoseHoliday - 18th Aug

Great game ! Chelsea is no longer led by a flaky flunky. Now wonder the other teams are frightened : cos we can now play in the beautiful attack mode a la Scolari or the ugly gritty sledgehammer mode a la Mourinho.

I am already salivating of the games to come : beautiful or ugly, they will be a joy to watch ;
Cheers mates n BC !

50. Den - 18th Aug

we are ecrtaily looking and playing like scolaris brazil in 2002, cafu and roberto carlos where the fullbacks driving forward and we have bosingwa and ashley cole, deco is our playmaker, kleberson was theirs, they had ronnie and rivaldo on the wings in a 4-3-3 we have j.cole but im sure kalou will become our rivaldo, they had edmilson cleaning up poor first touches by strikers nad we have mikel, anelka or drogba our ronaldo, roque junior and lucio our riccy and terry. I think we are th new brazil and we played ’samba” football against pompey and we play the same system 4-3-3 anyone agree we are seeing similarities???

51. Kobby - 18th Aug

we really miss seeing essien and i hope he plays against wigan, cos he is my best player in chelsea.yeah,he does all the the dirty jobs and gets 90.000 a week when he deserves all the praise.if essien is to play in his natural position, come on you blues,he would be far far better than ronaldo.all the same hope its chelsea 5:0wigan.COME ON YOU BLUES

52. Mark - 18th Aug

Chelsea is play Wigan and 8 30pm for me as i am in South East Asia!

I predict that it would be lower than the Porsmouth score. Chelsea are currently playing Away from Stamford Bridge.

Poor Pompey is playing Manchester which they drew it the Community Shield:) Haha

So my prediction is Wigan 0 Chelsea 3
