I think Gordon is a terrific keeper. He kept for Sunderland who survived being relegated and Scotland almost made it to the Euro 2008 Championship.

And as for Kasper Schmeikel he is learning his trade and with a bit more experience he looks like he could be the next Cassilas.

I wouldnt say Craig Gordon “kept” sunderland in the premiership, he may have made a few brilliant saves but it was the team that kept them up not Gordon, he was bought for 9m so would probably be sold around 12-13m which is way overpriced? I doubt he’d come to Chelsea to sit on the bench as it wouldnt really help his chances to be in the Scotland squad. I wouldnt pick him over Cech and im sure most people wouldnt. I think that Marcus Hahnemann, Brad Friedel, David James or Rob Green over Craig Gordon, they would certainly be cheaper options aswell.

Carlo and Hilario are better than Schmeichel, maybe when he’s had some experience and showed us what he can do but its too early to say whether he is good enough, he would need premiership action to show how good he is and wont get that at chelsea. Joe Hart would be a better prospect and this moment in time.

Glenn Johnson was SOLD to Portsmouth, not loaned, he was sold, so we wont be getting him, we would have kept him if he was good enough. Sergio Ramos said he didnt want to leave Real Madrid earlier this summer when Chelsea reportedly made a bid for him, he’s signed a new contract recently and is only young so obvioulsy doesnt want to leave yet. Boswinga showed in Euro 2008 that he was a good player, if you cared you probably would have been watching him.

Tal Ben Haim hardly played last season and only did so because many others were injured, im sure EVERYONE except you on this blog would pick all our defenders over him and probably want rid of him this summer.

Gareth Bale was injured since November, he played like 3 months so nobody saw much of him, he’s yet to show everyone what he can do so i wouldnt choose him for a dream team when we havent seen him play for like 8 months and he cant pass a medical when he’s injured. Riise wasnt even first choice left back last season or the season before so he obviously isnt good enough for Chelsea if he isnt good enough for Liverpool, we CANT get him this season, hes already gone to Roma, its your 2008/2009 dream team and Riise WONT come to Chelsea this season as he’s signed for Roma and I hope he doesnt move to Chelsea. MOST people on this Blog would pick A Cole over Gareth Bale, someone other than spurs would have signed him if he was so good, Spurs and Sunderland are notorious for payed over the odd’s for players and he’s one of them.

I agree with all your comments there in 18 except for Adebayor. How can you say no to a 30 goal 24 year old?? No matter what, a player that young with his qualities and strength–and tremendous upside–is worth 20-25 million pounds. I hate him as a gunner, but if he should follow Ashley Cole, (only as the replacement for Drogba, should he leave) I wouldn’t be sad at all.

As well as Lampard, Ballack has one year left on his contract and is in no hurry to start negotiations but the press is leaving him alone, unlike the frenzy being stoked up over Frank. A lot of this is due to leaks from Chelsea – PK step forward. If Kenyon and Arneson both left and were not replaced, would anyone notice other than the press?

Mourinho wanted a smaller squad when he first came in and found he had to invest in a bigger squad due to the faster game in the EPL. Scolari may have to rethink his views, especially as the board always seems keen to have a bigger squad.
