John Terry’s Letter To Fans!
John Terry cannot get over the fact that he slipped the champions league trophy. He still feels terrible and awful and even guilty of the miss. Here is JT’s letter to the Chelsea fans on the champions league final, as published in the official Chelsea website.
To all the Chelsea fans, all my team-mates, the manager and staff at the club. I am so sorry for missing the penalty and denying you the fans, my team-mates, family and friends the chance to become European champions. Many people have told me I don’t need to say that but I feel I need to, that’s just me. I have relived that moment every minute since it happened. I have only slept a few hours and wake up every time hoping it’s all been a bad dream.
I have had some amazing support from fans, current and ex-players, family and friends and I need to thank everyone for that. But I am a big man and I take responsibility for us not winning. I am and ALWAYS will be Chelsea through and through. I will give my all on and off the pitch to win this trophy as a player and one day as a manager. And I am sure we will win it.
That night in Moscow will haunt me forever and I feel I have let everybody down and this hurts me more than anything. I am not ashamed about crying. This is a trophy I have tried so hard year after year to win and it was just an uncontrollable reaction, I wear my heart on my sleeve, everybody knows that.
The road to Rome starts here, we have to try and turn this experience to our advantage. I am very proud of how far we have come this season with everything that has gone on. Thank you for all your support for the team this season.
That’s very nice of you JT. We never needed this letter from you. Anyway, if it helps you in someway, fine then.

Just a thought.
Is J Terry the same player that he was last year? I didnt see, this year, the pace that he once had.
Is it true that JT thinks he is the ONLY person to speak about Chelsea? hmmmm how strange, with a guy like him around no manager will ever succeed in Chelsea.I would like to see JM back at Chelsea and put JT in his place. For sure he cost Chelsea the CL, after all he missed. Have you guys noticed that in the interview with JM JT name was not mentioned as ” my boys”?

You are the one who had the courage yo step up and take the penalty when other players like Anelka gave excuses. You are a true leader and we love you

that was so nice of terry,we have never questioned your loyalty for the club, and we never will.drogba is the fool that needs to be blamed,he is such a bastard…,i just hope he finds his way to another club.we need loyalists like terry in the team, not arrogant idiots like Drogba.

As far as i think, JT still repents that he was involved in JM´s departure. He was made a scapegoat at that time. And he tried to prove, Chelsea can go on without JM. He worked really hard, motivated other players to carry on a game at a time. there was pressure piling on him game by game. And then he had to take a decisive penalty, that would not only win Chelsea its first ever CL title, but would also vindicate him from JM´s case. JM was like a father (almost every player and other chelsea staffs have mentioned it), and what would make a son more proud than to prove his father that he can take care of his brothers and lead them to a victory (that would be remembered for ever?) in his(JM) absence.
…And he missed a penalty. I don´t know if he miss-fired the shot or slipped first, but for sure, it crashed his dreams to rubbles. He broke into tears uncontrollably, as he realised he failed his father, his dreams, dreams of his players and of fans behind him.
We should all forgive Terry. He is blue all over. He is our captain, our hope, the undeclared special son of special one, who can push us all this far, even when everything went berserk and we were losing our hope.
Hats off to you, Terry!!! You are my hero of the season.

right on spot mate. JT is not what he used to be.his biggest asset was his reading of the game which he has somewhat lost these days. JM wasnt happy with his performance lately.
i was very happy to see terrys clearance of giggs attempt which he used to do every match almost. now a days ashley has taken that role

Football fan from Belgium (Anderlecht!) says : hats off to a top defender who hardly makes mistakes, and who in Moscow even made an all important save at the end of playing time. Several people have had bad luck that day, and only a few were lucky (cf. the 1-1 goal). Not one person is to blame. But we all understand Mr. Terry’s feelings, anyone with a heart for football even suffered with him, and we all respect him for his play and for his words. Chapeau !

Some people here (5,6,9) all too easily forget the injuries Mr. Terry has had to recover from this season, and the number of important goals or assists the strikers have made / given. You can’t blame one or two or three individuals for not winning the final … or the title. That happens over 150 minutes … or over a season’s worth.
12. MoiBlue,
@6 Drogba is not such a bad bastard. He is arrogant, tough but this is the same with all ppl coming from Africa, but speaking of loyality, he is always more loyal to Jose than Chelsea. But that should not be taken as betrayel towards the club.
@9 As I have always said, Anelka is a coward. He is not of Chelsea class and now he confirmed that he is not of Chelsea character. I urge Domenech to fcuk that bastard out of the squad and I dont want to see this guy playing for Les Bleues in EURO. Allez Les Blueus!!!
Terry is the best captain. You dont need to give apologies.

I’ve been sick since that awful day…Imagine JT…I see…
When that game over I went to hospital here in Manaus…
I wanted cry but I didn’t have tears..the pain is so big inside…
How beautiful is seeing JT pulling responsability to him…
Everybody feel bad…but the fight must go on…
I can only imagine how John Terry feels and his disappointment for all concerned. It will only serve to drive him on to succeed, we know his loyalty is never in doubt and

As a fan I have watched John grow as a player and a leader. Everbody in the English game respects him and he sticks by your club through thick and thin. n this era of gain and selfish behaviour he provides real fans with the comfort that someone is serving as a positive role model at The Bridge
