Will Man Utd Drop Points Against West Ham? - [BlueChampion]
Can the Hammers nick a point against Man Utd today? We know Alan Curbishley is close buddy and he admires Sir Alex and all those pally pally stories. Do you seriously think Curbishley would give it away because above reasons plus that he thinks Man Utd is better deserved to win the title? I don’t think Curbishley would be sending out a weak team as such. Even if he does it won’t be a worse move than the one made by Sir Alex himself at Stamford bridge a week before.
I think West Ham would give their best shot and would hope for the best. Hammers would get a nice handsome bonus if they are to end with a top 10 finish. Now they are at No.11. They’ve got just two games to got the tenth spot. That’s enough motivation for the players to go for it. Also, in the last few seasons, Man Utd have not been very comfortable playing West Ham. Curbishley was just stating the obvious when he was eulogising Sir Alex. We all knew Curbs loves Fergie so it was quite a harmless comment. And if I’m right Curbishley made this remark more than a week back. It’s doing rounds now as the date of Man Utd vs West Ham gets closer.
Having beaten Barca, the Man Utd team must be high on team morale. Now they know they need to win just two matches before the champions league final on 21-May. I see that Man Utd will play a full strength team and try to demolish West Ham. One reason is that they would want to tell Chelsea ‘keep off’. Another reason is, the last time they scored two goals and won a match was in March. They would like to get back to their attacking best so that they can prop up their confidence ahead of the champions league final.
If Man Utd drops points today, Chelsea has a chance of winning the premier league title at Stamford Bridge! Come on the hammers! Beat the Mancs 4-0!

dont build hopes. man utd will win this with a big margin 4-0 may be. they will kill west ham. talk about our match at st.james park. i’m more worried about that. why is that newc are peaking when we have to visit them?
if man utd win today, the title is theirs surely.

man utd won’t have vidic, and may be rooney and evra. west ham will be missing ljurnberg (which is not bad news after all)
ex-chelsea scott parker can do us a favour. he says they will give a tough game.
We’re not going to roll over. We’re professional footballers and we take pride in what we do. We have to try to take something out of the game for ourselves. We can’t spend too much time looking at what the game means for Manchester United.

I m more worried of our trip to new castle rather than man utd. Actually i just want to win our new castle match so we put more pressure on utd which might be of help for the CL final. Our squad strength is better than man utd at this moment and if we can rest a few players and win at new castle utd are in trouble for CL final.

I’m starting to love Grant’s mind games. He played a few before the ManU match and the Liverpool matches and they worked out. But bringing up some week-old article where Curbs praised ManU is something a la-Mourinho. By bringing that up in public, he has really put a lot of pressure on Curbs and Bruce(next week) Now all the attention would be on how they play against manU. Grant couldn’t have done it any better. With all the scrutiny I wouldn’t be surprised if West Ham upped their level a bit. The magic touch was when Grant said he doesn’t doubt their integrity. Awesome!! Just the words that may just win us the EPL!
But I’m still worried about how West Ham would react to going a goal down. Because the players might just think well manu r champions anyway and give up the ghost. And it is in that moment will Curbs provide the motivation and go for it??

man utd finished off west ham. i expected that. now chelsea has a tougher challenge at st.james park. if we are little unlucky or careless, we could drop the points and the title.

West Ham laid down, rolled over & asked for their tummies to be tickled. No one could understand Curbishley’s tactics(lack of), and the players could not be bothered. There have been rumbles and grumbles about Curbishley all season and this could be the performance that makes the Hammer’s board’s collective mind up to sack him. It is what I expected - I have often thought he is angling to be Ferguson’s assistant when Queiroz goes elsewhere.

i’m of the same opinion. i too think curbs is eyeing to be fergie’s deputy with a hope of making it to his job itself. but i dont think his desire played a part of making west ham toothless against man utd on saturday. “man utd 4-1 west ham” is a score that does not surprise me at all.

it has always been manu’s title to lose. we were just giving a good fight. one good thing is nani got sent off. so he wont be available at the JJB. i think manu will just nick it. they’ve got their confidence back. our game on monday is not too easy.

Unfortuantly I cant see how Chelsea will win this season’s Premier League. Man damn Utd will win against West Ham certaintly against Wigan and they have most goals for than any other team. Chelsea will win the Champion League Final in Moscow though.
