Please give Anelka a chance, he can really do well as he as proved at every other club he’s been at. He has openly expressed his strong commitment to Chelsea and wants to spend the rest of his career here, which is really saying something consdiering the amount of times he has moved in the course of his career. Huntelaar should be brought in as well but Anelka can handle it.

Anelka is a good striker. Drogba has the experience, but Anelka is strong & fast. i see him scoring a goal either against Man united this weekend or against Liverpool next week in the champions league, if he plays up- front.

Anelka is perfectly fine as a striker but he is more suited to a 442 than our 433. At Bolton, he was often up front with Diouf and Davies. Davies is obviously not an orthodox winger (despite his war with Evra in United’s away match at Bolton). We saw his best qualities when paired up with Drogba in those vital minutes against Arsenal a few weeks ago.

He is entitled to a settling period at the club, and despite his lack of goals since his arrival, we are not having any problems. Our inability to finish off the Wigan match was unlucky, and the Everton match was always going to be tight. Next season, I fully expect him to have a partner in a 442, and it is then that we shall see him shine (so I am in agreement with trueplatinum). For now, I just hope he scores the goal that knocks out Liverpool in the Champions League!

bolton may play a similar formation to us but his role was simple finishing and counter, at chelsea he’s playing midfield, anelka will come good but i feel playing him with drogba will give him better results

Hi guys..

Anelka’s problem is that hes not playing as an out and out striker..he drifts around the pitch a lot, trying to get others into play..Thats a disaster in the 4-3-3 with him at the top.

Anelka should concentrate on what he know best..thats scoring goals..

Copy ruud van for God’s sake..just hang in and around the penalty box n latch onto chances..score 20 plus goals a season..thats why the club paid 15 million bucks dude..nobody cares about a strikers work rate..strikers are judged by the gaols they score..SO GO OUT THERE N SCORE

first the price is too inflated at 15mil.. he was around 8 mil but chelsea price is 15 mil as we needed a striker desperately and anelka could have played in champions league. Anyways when we can pay 21 mil for SWP this looks a bargain.

second i think a striker needs to be a bit selfish. they are there to score goals and not to play wide creating chances. its other players job and anelka is a cool finisher. One should do a job which he is best at. Scoring goals add to strikers confidence and becomes more lethal.end of the season a striker will be known by the number of goals he scores.
