@45. Pensioner

You and your statistcs so ooved by someone else... byt the name of israeli.

Well well pensioner, Bella's cooment was sopt on, I will only comment on one thing.

----" What repsect does Jose deserve, for being an arrogant man. Let me put it this way so that you may understand.

- What kind of adult male walks around telling everyone he meets that he is the “special one”?----

Who are you to say that every adult JM met, he said he was the "special one"???

He may sound arrogant dealing with the press,in order to stop the press from paying attention to the p[layers, so they could train and perform without pressure. However JM was one of the most polite, and cordial persons I have ever seen and met , and I tell you WHY, because when he used to leave in London near Grosvenor Sq., he used to go to a Portuguese Restaurant called " O Fado" in Beauchamp Place, London, a 10 minutes walk from his house, usually he used to go there on Mondays and his schedule permitting, and it is a restaurant i frequent for many years for the simple reason i like their fish dishes, because I can speak his language and he found it strange that foreigners could speak Portuguese so fluent, from time to time he gave me his time, for me was good because I could practice.
Sometimes he used to go with his wife, but most of the times used to go with his own coaching team, and used to take the big table near the bar and the TV set so he could listen to the portuguese sports channel (Sport TV).
The times I saw him there never ever I heard him being arrogant, or undermining his other colleagues in fact and I can vow for that, he only spoke good of all the other big 3 managers, so arrogance may have been shown when interviewed, but never in private.
This also goes for the players that go there almost every week when they are off, particularly Paulo that even celebrates his birthday in ther 2 years running.
As you must understand when football players frequent a place, people talk and only talk about football, so to speak you hear it from the horse's mouth.

The only time I have seen arrongance being displayed by a Chelsea manager, was in the last chelsea v Wigan, where an extremelly mediocre manager,AG, fielded a weak team, underestimating Wigan team and his manager,Bruce.
That I call arrogance, pensioner, at this stage of the season to try to denigrate the opposition,by fielding a weaker team, particularly when the opposition is fighting relegation, is not ONLY arrogance but also a LACK of IQ at least in football terms.
Although I respect your opinion, I believe you are complete wrong, in this matter.

Regarding the press conference after the Everton game, if you can call that a conference, AG just showed is inability to deal with the press, lets face it journalists make you and break you, first they lay the red carpet and then they pull it out, what a chance AG had to shut them up, after all they were doing their job as AG tells us that he does his.
You want to talk about arrogancy?? the poor AG doesnt have the intelligence to be arrogant, you know why pensioner?? because he knows he is not FIT for the job it was GIVEN to him, he knows that only thru frienship, and undermining and backstabbing JM he got promoted, yes this is arrongancy at the lawest level.
I suggest you read a blog by Anthony in the chelseablog, someone knows what happens in SB.
To finish this "palaver" JM would have cherish an opportunity like AG had with the journalist, but as we all know the AG is very short on any comparison with JM.

Well done Bella a good opinion.

I can't even spell the word assist.

Embarassing?

But as embarassing as the employees (idiots) who buy these players at ridiculous amounts of money?

People

Sorry guys about the statistics, while I'll typed it out it looked perfect and sent shivers down my spine. But when I the submit button it basically came out rubbish?

But the statistics are shocking!

Instead I'll spell it out for you, so that you may understand.

Thirty-three appearances and basically only two goals and only three assits.

I know that some of the games he played as a defender.

Hey, Michael Essien deserves to be the 2007 Player of the Year?

Everton 0-1 Chelsea Grant's Gone Crazy

18 April 2008 11:09pm

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poor game from Everton and a not much better performance from us but we were the better side and deserved the 3 points.

Grant did himself no favours with the silly interview afterwards, he is already very unpopular and unloved by the media and this will not help his cause - his newly hired PR guru should have had a word with him beforehand.

Essien is bailing us out at the moment with his goals.

As for Jose being ridiculed by the media for his commentsTBF, I’m not sure where you’ve been for the last three years or so - obviously not listening and reading to the media who generally despite the odd spat here and there between Jose and themselves recognised Jose for what he was - one of the world’s best coaches and treated him with the respect he deserved.

Like they do Fergie, Wenger and Benitez.

One final thing, we need to play better than this to beat Man Utd and Liverpool.

This team seems drained of energy, spirit and life force - and I put that down partly to the end of the season but more due to the manager sitting sullen faced and lifeless on the bench.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Poor game from Everton and a not much better performance from us but we were the better side and deserved the 3 points."

- Only saw the last fifteen minutes so I'm not in a position to comment on the match.

"Grant did himself no favours with the silly interview afterwards, he is already very unpopular and unloved by the media and this will not help his cause - his newly hired PR guru should have had a word with him beforehand."

- Correct.

"Essien is bailing us out at the moment with his goals."

- Incorrect.Should'nt a £24m midfield player be scoring on a consistent basis. Please take a look at some of Michael Essien's statistics. Have a look at what our £24m black star has been doing on the pitch, besides sleeping?

Career of Michael Essien Season Club Championship European Competitions Caps
00-01 Bastia 1 Goals, 13 Games (-)
01-02 Bastia 4 Goals, 24 Games (-) 2 Games
02-03 Bastia 6 Goals, 29 Games (-)
03-04 Lyon 3 Goals, 34 Games 8 Games (Champions League)

06-07 Chelsea 2 Goals, 33 Games 2 Goals, 10 Games (Champions League)
07-08 Chelsea 6 Goals, 24 Games 10 Games (Champions League)

- OK. So Michael Essien doesn't socre alot of goals, so I bet he makes up for that by setting up goals for his team mates, right?

- Just three assists in the Premiership 2006-2007 season in thirty-three matches?

- No.

I think AG is drained , tired , at the end of his wits abt what to do next ,beseiged from all sides, met with blank faces and sullen smiles and confused banter about winning something from the players and staff, you know just holding on to the seat of the roller-coaster as best he can .

And the only reason he can hang on is because of RA's unconditional love and support.

I can understand his reactions and behaviour as a person to the immense pressure from fans and media .

But as a football coach, he is sadly lacking.

I think AG is drained , tired , at the end of his wits abt what to do next ,beseiged from all sides, met with blank faces and sullen smiles and confused banter about winning something from the players and staff, you know just holding on to the seat of the roller-coaster as best he can .

And the only reason he can hang on is because of RA’s unconditional love and support.

I can understand his reactions and behaviour as a person to the immense pressure from fans and media .

But as a football coach, he is sadly lacking.

This game was terrible. In a game important for both sides, both played as though they were tired, confused or thinking of something else. Anyone who says The Toad is a manager has a hidden agenda. The man isn't old enough to have Alzheimer's (though he looks about 72, now 52); anyone remember Christian Grosse? At the end he behaved a bit like The Toad is behaving now.

As for Jose being ridiculed by the media for his commentsTBF, I'm not sure where you've been for the last three years or so - obviously not listening and reading to the media who generally despite the odd spat here and there between Jose and themselves recognised Jose for what he was - one of the world's best coaches and treated him with the respect he deserved.
