Avram Grant does not have what it takes to coach this club. He clearly does not have the respect of the players or the necessary leadership to do the job. This is obvious in big games and was never more obvious than in overtime when he sat with his thumb up his a$$ and let ballack, terry, and steve clark motivate the team. He is lost and needs to be fired.

On another note, abromavich needs to put his ego aside and realize that mourinho is arguably the best manager in the game and bring him back. Chelsea may have played conservative football on the pitch, but they always won, and always had an exciting story line off the pitch to follow along with. Jose brought an excitement to this team that needs to return.

Its not hard to see, Grant is a lesser personality that Jose was. Grant has no vigor nor top leadership skills to head such a strong charactered team. The Chelsea squad is full of hot shots and talented stars, if you allow this kind of group to run rampant without a countering force, you will end up with a deteriorating slide that has been rolling since Grant took over.

People try to give credit to Grant for keeping a good record since Jose departed. Wake the f up, its Mourinho’s team! All Grant is doing is shepherding them off onto the pitch, standing around pretending to be this world class manager which he is definitely not.

Its a job, and a very big job to take over. What do we all do on a new big job where you just edged yourself in due to a hook up? We try to impress and play a part that is beyond us. Now and then you will get a shark swimmer that can keep up and learn rapidly. In Grants case he clearly has not been able to stay abreast of the entire Chelsea FC emotion.

In order for Avram to succeed he would have needed to be a huge personality to give such a team belief and a high self esteem. This leads me to a side-note, I feel Roman brought Avram in due to his wet behind the ear quality. He is new to all this Prem stuff, this allows Roman to put his 2 cents in whenever he feels like it as Grant wont counter anything he says with any force that is. This is exactly why Roman got rid of Jose! Mourinho was simply brilliant and on top of that he had the charisma and character to lead such a massive team. The players more than likely wouldn’t question his superiority. This absolutely lead to problems with Roman and Jose, as such a strong people would surely bash heads given the time. So nix Jose and bring in stupid Grant with minimal training and no history as a player.

Come on Roman, back down off your “Im the Man” rubbish mentality for a moment and think about what’s best for the fans and for the team! The only result of the current scenario will be defeat and a team that will slowly disperse. Grant may be your mate and he may pray to the same god but none of this matters in football, esp this level of footie!

There was no need to spend that kind of money on an older striker with his best years behind him. But no, Roman just had to spend a king’s ransom on this one mercinary who wasn’t nearly as good as Drogba. And if he was getting paid like that, why wouldn’t Chelsea’s proven players want the same? Sheva is a cancer that reeks bad morale on the team.
I am willing to give Grant to the end of the season if he can keep the Blues in the fight for a treble to the end of March to mid April. But, if things are falling apart, sack him (and Sheva) and let Clarke be the caretaker manager until Roman finds the quality he needs or he swallows his billion dollar pride and brings back the boring trophy winning fellow.

I feel we are not harming any of our chances by adding pressure to Grant, because I don’t think we can win anything this season. If we do, that’ll be fantastic.

I’m prepared to give him the time when everytime I see that Grant does not even try to suit this role, I feel this should stop now.

Do you think Grant really tries hard? I don’t think so. He has taken this job very lightly and is feeling the heat now. I’m not feeling for dropping the trophy at the final. I’m annoyed at the way we played and we have been playing of late. I’m even more annoyed to see that the dressing room is not really united and there are serious differences between the staff and players. If this is not addressed, this might even result in quarrels and fights among the players very soon.

For once, I’m happy that the Press is on Chelsea’s neck. Let the Chelsea top management feel the pressure and act on this soon.

he has left a huge impression on me………almost everything which mourinho had with exception of brand of footy played…….he played f*ckin attacking flair footy which roman craves for……..he likes to win and that’s why he actually defeated “we-are-world-class” at allegged fortress when even a defeat would have no effect on their standings……brilliant subs……..one of which gave the winner.
if you ask me,perfect replacement…….young,hungry,passion for what he is doing………..i will be following euro with croatia as my second side………..hope roman and co. too

If by some reason Chelsea stays in the CL and FA and takes advantage of their game at hand and cuts the Gooner’s lead to six, let Grant stay where he is. That is still a better performance than all but two managers in the league even if he really doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Think about it, if we give him (AND SHEVA) the axe now, who can we get to replace him? Will Rikkjard abandon Barca before the end of the season? I’m sure the other possible candidates also have some sort of obligations that they want to finish before comming to the Bridge as well. Only JM would be immediately availiable and Chelsea would have to fall rock bottom and Roman would have to eat a lot of expensive crow for that to happen. No, as long as the team, theoreticly, have a shot at all three remaining trophies by mid April, leave the bums (bums) alone.
However, 12 April and Chelsea is out of the CL and FA, Clarke should be named as caretaker manager. He has seen the club in it’s rise and fall and knows best how to hold the players together enough to salvage some sense of pride. He’ll provide some sense of team spirit and unity until the end of the season.

Correction, there are a few other managers who are doing better with their clubs, not just Wenger and Sir Alex. But, 12 April is a suitable deadline for Grant to get it together or get a new job (and take Sheva with him).

Get Rijkaard so he can give us what Roman wants? Does roman want what chelsea need at all? I do not think so. If he did, he would not 1. sack a great manager at the beginning of the season 2. replace him with a man with no pedigree 3. have the audacity to give that man a four year contract when everyone except him could see that the man was only depending on the solid work left behind by Jose.
