Chelsea chasing David Villa

Once again, Chelsea seem to be trying to sign David Villa. With both Shevchenko and Drogba wanting to go to the Milan clubs, we need a world class striker who can partner Anelka. Kalou is still very young and is not really world class at the moment though he shows some promise and potential.

For all of David Villa’s talent, he would not be relishing the 14th spot in La Liga. Valencia did not even go beyond the champions league group stage. Villa is a natural striker with immense talent and skill. Something tells me that he would be a sure hit in the English league.

I’m excited. Are you?

Villa can be the Torres of the Bridge….
We also need a creative mid fielder….

    I would like

Out: DD, Scheva, SWP, Malouda, Ballack, TBH,Makelele ( may be after next season at the end of his contract)

IN: Villa, Diego. Two great signings for two trophies. No more signings of average stuff like Malouda’s.

    SQUAD 2008/09

    GK: Cech/cudicini/Hilario

    DF: A.Cole/Bridge/Terry/Carvalho/Alex/Ivanovic/Belleti/Ferreira

    MF: Mikel,Essien,Lampard,Diego,Sidwell,J.Cole,Makele, Sinclair

Villa prefers to go to ARSENAL/LIVERPOOL.

After this I guess, its dumb to approach him. If the player does want to come to bridge, then its best for both the parties not to sign him . I would say : Spend the 30M on Huntelaar.

Possible targets are Huntelaar, Ben Arfa ( is in the books of Wenger, but if Gooners snap Villa then this lad should be heading for bridge)

Big news today saying chelsea will bid for ribery, messi, Kaka and VDV.

Chelsea set for massive shake-up with Messi, Ribery and Kaka all linked

Chelsea are set for a massive summer shake-up with manager Avram Grant set to receive a whopping £100 million cash injection. (Daily Mirror)

The likes of Kaka, Lionel Messi and Frank Ribery have all be linked with the Premier League giants in today’s Mirror. The trio are among the world’s top attacking midfielders and are likely to cost the Londoners at least £100 million.

It is also thought that Chelsea will have to offload some of their current squad members with Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda and Andriy Shevchenko all likely to depart.

Manager Avram Grant is under great pressure at the moment and many people have speculated in recent weeks and days about his future at the club. However with today’s news that he is set to receive a massive transfer budget it looks as though Abramovich feels Grant deserves to lead Chelsea into the 2008/2009 season.

Roman is so stupid. Why does he want to waste so much money. Get one MANAGER and everything is gonna settle. Clesea just need a world class FW and CM. Afterall for a team still chasing two major championships there is no need for a mass exodus.

out: Shevchenko, Drogba, Pizarro, Ben Haim, Sidwell, SWP, Malouda, Belletti

Bench: Ferriera, Alex, Bridge, Mikel, Makelele, Bentley, Kalou, Huntelaar, Sahar, Sinclair, Di Santo

I definetely do not think we need a mass exodus of any sorts. We need a solid LWM who can create = Silva. I have concerns in the back esp. at right back but I think Ivanovic can step right up into that role. Alves would not fit in our system and there is no chance Madrid will let go of their golden boy Ramos. For coverage, we could bring back Glen Johnson and sell Belletti. I think Cole just slightly beats Bridge to the LB position, and Bridge may seek regular 1st team football elsewhere. I want to see the midfield trio of Ballack, Lamps, and Essien stay together and create that strong experienced base in the middle. I truly think Anelka if given space on his own as a sole striker can prove his worth and he’s shown and said that he is committed to Chelsea. Also, rookies like Sahar, Sinclair, and Di Santo should be given their chance and I also think Kalou will truly step up next year and become a pivotal part of this squad. Joe Cole is absolutely gold but we could use coverage for SWP’s departure and should ideally grab up David Bentley. That boy has got real quality and could defintely make it at Chelsea.

we absolutly have to buy silva from valencia(he can become ur messi).
Villa is a great player too,but i think that Aguero is better.
Dani Alves is the only man that can help us in the right back problem we have since some season.
But the best operation should be to buy quaresma from porto.
    Here is my formation
    ————Cech————-
    D.alves-Carvalho-Terry-A.cole
    ——-Essien-Lampard——–
    Silva—————-Quaresma
    ————–Aguero———
    ———Anelka————–

I’m sorry if my english isn’t the better but I’m italian…

I really hope that some of the young boys get a chance next year. No Di Santo on the bench; then you would have too much strikers/attacking players.

i think villa doesnt want to be another on-the-bench player for Chelsea..he’s talented with genius skills..so dont waste it..and Villa is not that hunger for goals to be in EPL unless he’s supported by fast quick & hungry midfilder..

I don`t really think we need any drastic changes except canceling Pizzaro, Drogba, Shvechenko which have really dissapointed us with their play over past season.
I`m happy about Bosingwa coming in, he`s really good, expierenced player. If Drogba drops out, we need a fast, strong player in the frontline and as I`ve been watching Euro 08` recently, I think D.Villa would be the best choice (god speed….), also the left wing is a bit weak (Malouda is kind of okay, but we need someone who is more creative and steady than the frenchman, who could not only assist, but also score goals).
And finally the manager. In my opinion Grant did really good and there is no need to throw him out just because of lost trophy, it`s not his fault, we just had lack of luck that day and I think he could do even better on the new season, rare manager could string team`s play so fast as Avram did in his 8 months
