Last season, the one thing that was eluding us all along was luck. Same time last period, we saw own goals by Essien and Ashley Cole giving away crucial points, also got us the fame as the team that hit the woodwork most number of times etc. No worries this time as we got our good luck charm that is Avram Grant. In just about a week, we have won two cup matches both with the help of own goals!

I didn’t see this match as well. So, it’s gonna be second hand garbage than the regular first hand one (I hope to see the highlights tonight). I see that SWP has had a great match. I’m happy for him, he is a nice lad. Still I’m not convinced about him. The problem with SWP has been two-fold: his decision making and his consistency. Last night the former came good, probably. I would wait for the latter. May be he was motivated because Fabio Capello was watching from the stands. If that’s the case, let’s give a season ticket to Capello.

I was hoping for a 2-0 but 2-1 is fine enough. I also understand that we played well enough to deserve the win. Avram did the mistake of not taking the three points quietly against Everton in the premier league match. Now this time, he brought on Ferreira late on, to shut shop and go to Goodison park with a draw and that’s when Lescott thought of gifting us. In the premier league match, we went on without shifting tactics and lost 2 points. In the domestic cup match, in the first leg at home of a two-legged semi-final, we shut shop to go with a draw. I would do exactly the opposite.

Avram hopes to have Anelka play for us this Saturday against Tottenham. Hopefully we would settle for a price of £12 million. It would be nice to see Anelka vs Berbatov this weekend. Before that, the Spurs will have to take on Arsenal tonight the other League Cup semifinals at the Emigrants. I just hope that it stays 0-0 and then Diaby scores an own goal right at the death. I’m not joking, I’m serious!
