Drogba’s gone already, to be back only in Feb!

didier-drogba-surgery.JPG

Didier Drogba underwent that long overdue knee surgery today, after his knee supposedly locked to an extent that he could not even walk normally.

The operation was successful but the after care and rehabilitation would take 4 - 5 weeks, by which time he has to be in Ghana for the ACN. Assuming Ivory Coast makes good progress, it would be the third week of February when we see him again in Chelsea colours, if reports are to be believed.

The timing of the surgery is the most inopportune for Chelsea as we travel to the Emigrants stadium next weekend and play Liverpool in the league cup match. There is some cloud around the surgery as Didier appeared to have made clear that he wants to lead his nation to African Cup glory at any cost.

Article under construction.

Well BC i guess, theres no consipracy around his operation, hes gone under the knife and hes out. the only thing we can hope now is he comes back wenever it is firing on all cylinders. it would be a big miss, and we def need to get a striker in jan regardless shevachenko stays or goes.

Well, the discussion has been going on a few weeks now between Drogba and the club about when to have the surgery and suddenly Drogba’s knees lock ‘yesterday’ and gets his knee operated today. Compare this to Ballack’s surgery. I’d like to think there was no conspiracy.

hahahhaha , well u know how the press likes a bit of spicee in everything esp english media, i think he would def play for AFC for Ivory Coat, hes always stood up for his country so the media is just making out a big fuzz about this. It is obvious chelsea wudnt want to let him go for more than a month esp him being the front man and i think ideally they would want him to carry on untill end of december and go in for a surgery in Jan, so they could get a replacement in transfer window and they could say, hes injured so he cant play in AFC. but now the case is he will recover in time for AFC as it starts on 21st jan and ivory cost first game is on 23rd Jan. and he will be available for the quater finals and semis def if they go through the first group stages. will wait and see how this develops.

Sheva is still rusty to the extent of worrying all us Blues. He’s lost his pace, his first touch and shot making skills that made him deadly at San Siro (AC Milan’s ground).

Chelsea seems to be an omen for him, if he doesn’t shine soon, I’d rather he find a good career at someplace elsewhere than self-destruct at Stamford Bridge.

Sumesh, i dont know if you are aware, san siro is home ground for both AC and inter. sheva can get some games def now, so i hope he score atleast in those games and give himself a chance to be seen as a front man.

hey BC wud like to know ur views on how we wud be playing if ballack is back, wud we be going to a 4 man midfield with mikel, essein , lamps and ballack ?

Well, that’s that. Roll out the red carpet for a new striker if you want to go anywhere this season, folks. Today’s display against the lowly Sunderland proves we’re hopeless without Drogba. We really aren’t a top four team without him.

something fishy here. drogba has finally taken care of his participation in the african cup. given a choice between chelsea and the african cup, he would choose african cup only. he likes to play with passion. currently i dont think he has any passion to play for chelsea. also if at all he is going to be sold in january, he should be a fit player and that’s why he got his surgery done in time.

time to sell drogba.

@ Mister

If he had no passion or any care left for Chelsea, then he wouldn’t still be scoring at will. Drogba has always been the same through my eyes. And Of course he’d choose his home country over Chelsea, I would. Doesn’t mean he can’t love Chelsea.

Sheva will do the job, just look at him flying against Sunderkand and he will GUN down Arsenal. I promise, the deadliest striker in Europe is back… You will see!!
