England Eliminated At Wembley!
The drama is over. England is finally eliminated, at Wembley of all places. England lost 2-3 after being down 0-2 in just under 15 mins. Lampard took the responsibility, showed his composure as he scored a cool penalty. Croatia were deserved winners but to be fair, England did deserve a point. Euro 2008 will go ahead without one of the football ‘powerhouses’. It’s very difficult to accept the fact that England won’t be playing in Euro 2008, but it’s official now.
It was not because England could not avoid defeat to Croatia. It was more because they dropped points all along. There will be more and more discussions now on foreign players, quota systems, youth talent etc. All said, it’s a shame that England won’t be there in Euro 2008.
From a Chelsea perspective, about half of our first choice team can rest (less injuries?) in summer and come back fresh for the next season. For the number of matches played by the English Chelsea players, not playing the Euro could be of some help, how much ever they hate to watch Euro on TV.
McClaren might count his days or hours. Are we going to see the return of Jose?

Excitement is rising day by day as super bowl 2008 is approaching. However in the mean time US Open golf champion ship is going to held as well. People are rushing for the cheap vacation packages on both the places. However golfers can book golf vacation package at Arizona as well. For the people crazy about golf it is the best time to celebrate the mega event and enjoy a golf holiday as well. However as Christmas is approaching people are getting crazy for snow shoeing and hence booking ski vacation resorts as well.

England :
1. Tactics : wrong & one dimensional and with no real acumen
2. Team spirit : lacking
3. Leadership on pitch : the bare minimum
4. Efforts ; disjointed
5. Imagination : nil
6. Confidence : ragged
7. Backup and youngsters coming up : LOL
8. Luck : LOL LOL LOL how much u want boys ? Andorra to beat Russia ?
9. The manager : feel sorry for actually
( I know this cos I stayed up the whole night to see what turned out to be a sorry performance )
Avram Grant & RA : Take heed of England’s fate
( Cos half the England team is made up of Chelsea players )

My latest conspicy theory :
SAF called up witless Stevie Mac and old him not to use hargreaves ,ferdinand , brown or anyone from Manure .
” I want no stupid injuries that will hamper my drive for the Premiership , Steve “
Infer !

I dont whats in there to get shocked. England always plays poor football. I often repeat this statement
” England in Football is exactly like India in Cricket. A team full of stars, but not a star team. What it looks on paper is not what they play on the field”

But India are the reigning champions of 20/20 cricket.
England not making it to the Euro’s is a bit of a disappointment, but what angers me more is the hype that Guus will get. He’s not as great as everyone said he was. He’s always had good squads to start off with and when he didn’t, they went no where.
His tactics are bland and predictable. *run around for 89 minutes then take a shot* I’ve seen it all too much. Russia are lucky to have qualified.
12. Torohi
Guus deserves all the kudos he gets m8
In the world cup, he managed to get us the draw against croatia on neutral ground.
Mclaren and england couldn’t even manage that on home turf.
I was hoping England would qualify so Guus could lead Australia again.

right on torohi , and dnt forget u guys almost got past the reigning champs Italy at the world cup, jst to be heart broken by another decision by the ref, his tactics were spot on, hah England can only dream of such tactics and smarts, to take S.Korea to the semifinals, man this guy has done it all, with which good squads?? Mr.Michael please cm bak to football………..lol!!!
And England are nothin but a joke…………..i predicted it before it happened , they r just an overrated band of silly boys adulated to hero status after having a couple of good games………………..

Oh come on. We were playing against a side 1 man down. We never had any real chance of goal against Italy. We should’ve dominated but we didn’t.
And why? because Guus was waiting for the last minute to sub Aloisi again. He used his luck with impact strikers one too many times.

joeblue . . we all predicted that england would not make it. it was all so obvious. i also predicted that russia would make it, albeit being very lucky. guus is a good coach but he is not as good as you make him to be. He has been coaching for more than 20 years. He has not won the league outside Holland. He was a failure at Real Madrid and Valencia. He was sacked by madrid after few months from appointment. Interestingly, he is now a cautious manager, who emphasises more on defence than attack.
He did well with the national teams so late in his career after he was 55. South Korea were helped by the referees and good fortune so much, for their ascent to semi finals in the world cup at home. Either we should consider this luck factor everywhere or not discuss about it everywhere. He will not take up any club jobs because he know he cannot handle it. He would be a failure at any club. He should continue with and best suited for national teams only.

it was a shame for england in the history of football
17. Alby
England team need a GOALKEEPER you can understand why..!
18. Bluewinner
That was awful to watch. Gerrard was absolutely trash. I have never seen him so badly in such a big match. Lampard was better but not great, no one was great. Carson was rotten, the first goal he allowed could have been stopped by a ten year old. Injuries certainly played a big part, but the 11th ranked team in the world (at the time) has to be more than two strikers deep. It was pathetic.
ou yeah… 2:3.. you losers.. you can play good football at wembley…
