I don't understand what you mean by a 360 degree turn. When Avram was appointed most of us expected him to be a failure. In the opinion poll on this blog, most of us thought we would not get a champions league spot this season (well, you can allow about 10% margin of error).

I have always thought Grant should be given time. That's what I've been saying from day one. But that does not mean I'm going to agree with everything Grant does. Why should I? Grant has not accomplished enough to get the benefit of doubt.

Someone like Grant does well, I appreciate and when he doesn't I say so. I don't see a 360 degree (or 180 degree!) turn.

BC,

Its been quite a while reading your blogs and I have always respected your opinon which is nothing uniqe however I still feel that the choice of words has always been appropriate my friend… I honestly feel your texts show tendencies of lets say freaking out…from Jose departure to AV’s six nil all I have seen is opinons being formed and de-formed!!! so I feel having an opinon based on being cool & not so cool makes more sense if rational view points change as much as yours….

Now when you wrote good about Av everyone reads it and replies to it however in a space of two articles you have made a 360 degree spin in your opinons…no force or even Pete’s blog which always lacks creativity & usually is an abstract of other writers does not change the fact that Roman is trying his best however there is no accountability in one man power houses so be it Av or JM we will always suffer from over expecting analyst’s like you….I plead to you with all my love for the blues please get your priorities right for what you expect from CFC, Roman & the rest of the clan…..JM also lost, hope you read your own posts from that time and till now you will find out that I talk true that you have now really Freaked out (take it positively) as I have the same feeling however still I stress that BC you need to change your expectations!!! win win & win forget about other lateral love affairs that you have lost with the moving out of TSO….

People:

If I was to run Chelsea FC and say I had about 30 minutes to spend, just to entertain myself.

The least we could do is offer or to give our opionion that is prudent towards the subject matter.

ps: Guys don't get so emotional, instead lets think with calm heads.

You guys are really passionate about the Chelsea FC the club.

I thought the club was just a football team and not a pre-teens private little tree house club.

I only take football as a hobby, you know for a laugh.

I never ever took football this seriously as you guys seem to take it to another level?

PETER in Chelseablog said this. I thought this was interesting so I'm cross-posting it here:

Criticism of Grant versus Mourinho is, in my opinion, completely missing the point, which is that the club has a fundamental structural problem. The more we learn about the past 18 months, the more impressed I am that we achieve anything at all (and if we have to talk about upsetting the balance of the team, let’s talk about Shevchenko - who Grant has been allowed to quietly shelve).

We’ve got Arnesen, Grant, Zihavi, Ten Cate, Clarke, Kenyon and latterly Mourinho all in overlapping roles with nobody taking responsibility or doing anything other than stepping on each others toes and griping about each other’s decisions. It’s all very well talking about playing like Arsenal but it’s totally missing the point: would Arsene Wenger thrive in the environment at Stamford Bridge as he has at the Emirates? Would Ferguson put up with having a Director of Football and a Youth Development Scout appointed over his head. Of course bloody not, and rightly so. We’re a fucking disaster in that context. (And, incidentally, what exactly has Arnesen done other than sign dud after dud after dud.)

These were POLITICAL appointments, made so that the owner can have more interference in the football side, not STRUCTURAL appointments, made so that the club can run better. I’m very grateful for a lot of what Abramovich has done, but his work in this are has been nothing short of a disgrace.

But if we must have an argument over Grant versus Mourinho, AGAIN, ask yourself this: If they both managed the same team against each other, who do you think would win?

Do you have to pause and think about it for even a second?

Thanks Pete!

You said 'only a few guys had the guts to bash JM' - I don't undersand why you need to have 'guts' to bash JM? If you have a reason to bash him, you bash him. Simple. You said there were always posts about what Jose said and what he thinks - Yes, because he was the manager then. Now, I've written articles on AG's support for Terry, AG's evolution so far apart from references to what he says in public. You said I'm in his shadow still - Good memories never leave me. How many of you still love and think about Zola? Legends always stay in memory. Remember, all that I said in this article was one reference to JM and we're having such a nice discussion.

You clearly say that AG is not good enough to be the manager of our club. The moment AG accepted the Chelsea job, he is subject to all expectations that you'd have on a Chelsea manager. His not being good (as you say) itself will make him open for criticism. Why should I care about whether he is capable or not, whether he is a new guy or not? Why should I have mercy on him or sympathy on him? When you take the rights, you'll have some duties as well. Finally, I'm completely with you about Roman Abramovich. You said 'your allegiance being to the club, you should defend AG as well'. This is were you constantly get me wrong. I don't go about defending anything and everything to do with the club. If I see a point, if I agree with someone or something, I talk in favour, otherwise talk against it.

Blu Rehman

I'm saying it again: this is what I want from the club - victories and trophies - because that's what gives me ultimate satisfaction. Probably what you expect from the club is a good club image and publicity or acknowledgment from your friends or experts or everyone that we're playing 'beautiful' football. You might want both too. What comes on top of the other is what matters. If there is only on thing we can achieve, I want that thing to be trophies.

'Accepting Av is not so cool'??? Strange comment. Do you have your preferences based on what's cool and what's not? My choices need not be 'kewl', they are just my choices. You talk about my opinion changing about Avram. When Avram was appointed as the coach, how many of you honestly thought he deserves the job of chelsea coach? Don't be a hypocrite. We all had doubts and most of us still have doubts about Avram's capability. There was no reason for me to think that he was the right choice for the job. Avram has no pedigree at all to be managing Chelsea at this stage. He's won stuff in the Israeli league. Would you readily accept someone who's won trophies in Russian league or Turkish league to become Chelsea's manager? Wouldn't you have some doubts about his capabilities?

Of course, Roman can only think good for Chelsea, but he's human. He can be influenced. He's made billions but human mind is still a human mind. He can make a mistake. You said 'after a couple of draws you've freaked out and come up with your bore about the club' - silly silly comment to make. Your words speak for you. Choose them carefully.

Overall, I know it's going to be like this. When I appreciate AG, you'd either ignore them or read between the lines in search of sarcasm, when I don't, you know what to say!

I’m saying it again: this is what I want from the club – victories and trophies – because that’s what gives me ultimate satisfaction. Probably what you expect from the club is a good club image and publicity or acknowledgment from your friends or experts or everyone that we’re playing ‘beautiful’ football. You might want both too. What comes on top of the other is what matters. If there is only on thing we can achieve, I want that thing to be trophies.

‘Accepting Av is not so cool’??? Strange comment. Do you have your preferences based on what’s cool and what’s not? My choices need not be ‘kewl’, they are just my choices. You talk about my opinion changing about Avram. When Avram was appointed as the coach, how many of you honestly thought he deserves the job of chelsea coach? Don’t be a hypocrite. We all had doubts and most of us still have doubts about Avram’s capability. There was no reason for me to think that he was the right choice for the job. Avram has no pedigree at all to be managing Chelsea at this stage. He’s won stuff in the Israeli league. Would you readily accept someone who’s won trophies in Russian league or Turkish league to become Chelsea’s manager? Wouldn’t you have some doubts about his capabilities?

Of course, Roman can only think good for Chelsea, but he’s human. He can be influenced. He’s made billions but human mind is still a human mind. He can make a mistake. You said ‘after a couple of draws you’ve freaked out and come up with your bore about the club’ – silly silly comment to make. Your words speak for you. Choose them carefully.

Overall, I know it’s going to be like this. When I appreciate AG, you’d either ignore them or read between the lines in search of sarcasm, when I don’t, you know what to say!
