Chelsea FC for America!
All Americanos take note. Chelsea FC has come up with a website, just for you! I was contacted to review the website and provide some feedback, which I did. I should say, as a concept, to develop an official website specifically for a certain country, is a great gesture from the club. I wish they’d start a Chelsea FC India website one day.
Chelsea Football Club will launch tomorrow (Thursday) a groundbreaking website for fans in the United States. As part of the club’s ongoing commitment to soccer in the U.S., the innovative new venture represents the first time a European club has created a dedicated membership site for its fans in America.
Chelseafc.com/america offers content designed, delivered and implemented specifically for U.S. soccer fans, including an interactive social networking ‘members map’ allowing supporters to search and communicate with one another. Fans also can upload their own photos and chat online.
The U.S. membership site comes after the club’s highly successful fourth consecutive U.S. preseason tour earlier this year and the announcement of a partnership with Disney’s Wide World of Sports and U.S. women’s soccer star Lorrie Fair. The site marks Chelsea’s commitment to developing the passion for soccer in the United States and answers the needs of their fast-growing American fan base.
In celebration of the launch, Chelsea are hosting an online competition for registered fans to win a trip for four to London to see the Blues play at Stamford Bridge. Exclusive competitions for members only will be hosted on the site on an ongoing basis. There is no fee to register as a member. Try this link tomorrow - http://www.chelseafc.com/america.
I have a feeling that I must be doing something right. Few weeks back I was contacted by the magazine FourFourTwo for an interview. I had to politely decline it as the interview was to be in London. Then there was a contact from the ‘Voetbal Magazine’, the top Dutch football magazine, which again I could not commit. Another offer to translate BlueChampions in Chinese language. Then came ESPN for another interview but once again it was in London so I could not accept. And now, Chelsea FC. I must be doing something right!
