Avram Grant Has A Sharp Tongue!
John Terry, one of the best defenders in Europe, needed someone to defend him and there was Avram Grant. This old man keeps impressing. Grant generally looks quiet and when he starts talking, he was even more boring. His accent makes it really difficult to follow him. I’m never too keen to download his interviews as the printed text would carry more emotions than his face. But he is changing or he has started showing the other faces that we haven’t seen yet!
Gerry Sutcliffe, sports minister of the United Kingdom, has unwarrantedly launched an attack on John Terry’s salary. First up, it was in poor taste. If I’m Terry, I don’t expect the sports minister to say it in public that I get loads of money which was made to sound I don’t deserve it.
Avram Grant has responded to Gerry Sutcliffe very very strongly saying ‘you’re not paying his money, shut up and mind your business’ or something like that.
I have my opinion about this. John is the captain and you need to learn how he led the team with full commitment in a very difficult time. This is leadership, this is captaincy. He deserves every penny. His leadership, I can guarantee you, is one of the top in the history of this position. Everybody likes to speak about the money of the footballers. Why does nobody speak about singers who get more money in one year than any player? Why don’t they speak about talented tennis players like Maria Sharapova for example, who, I think, at 20 years old, has more money than any other player. Even if you think life is very easy for footballers, they have a short time to be a professional and if they succeed they deserve the money. I am not a politician but I need the Government to care about not how much John Terry earns because they don’t pay even one penny. They need to take care of the people who don’t have money and to help them as we try to help them. This is more important for the Government. There are many, many people who need the help of the Government instead of an opinion about how much John Terry or Madonna have in their pockets.
Well, he almost said what I wanted to say on this topic. First up, the salaries are determined by market forces. If someone deserves it, he gets it and the moment he doesn’t deserve it, he’ll stop getting it. No one wants to give away money just like that. Football is big business and every pound invested is expected to bring some profit, at least in the long run. Not sure if Gerry Sutcliffe would pay 50,000 pounds per week to his chauffeur, just because he’s got money. You get what you deserve. As simple as that.
Once again, here goes Grant:
I am not a politician but I need the Government to care about not how much John Terry earns because they don’t pay even one penny. They need to take care of the people who don’t have money and to help them as we try to help them. This is more important for the Government. There are many, many people who need the help of the Government instead of an opinion about how much John Terry or Madonna have in their pockets.
Ooooh! I’m loving it. Yes minister! Eat this!

John Terry sure doesnt deserve to earn that much a week but its not the minister business afterall, he doesnt pay him. This still doesnt change AG in my eyes.

Well, for me he deserves a good salary, maybe not that much but he has been an exellent player, and after all he had been our captain, sure, now hes unfit, but when he plays he is good.
And as BC said, its about the market forces that determine the salary

Hi Guys,
The club pays JT his wages..They feel hes worth that much..so let them pay him whatever they want to..The Minister has no business commenting on such issues..its not the British Government’s money.
The biggest issue I had with AG was that he was very quiet n reserved..n also that he used to take slly digs at JM regarding style n stuff..AG is certainly improving as a manager n hes beginning to speak up as well..AG is getting better each day..

Football players are living on peanuts, c’mon bluechampions.
I don’t think football players are over-paid in general considering how much money they bring towards the club. Please look at the salaries from a players point of few.
They are working ridiculous hours, by spending lots of their precious time both on and off the field, working for the ” precious ” club.
They playing career ends when they reach their mid-thirties. What happens next?
They have to keep their bodies in good shape, c’mon who enjoys going to the gym.
Compare footballers to some of the other professions in the entertainment industry like singing or acting and then you’d realise football players are not even close to the amount of money these musicians and actors of making!
Finally these are HUMAN BEINGS we’re talking about not a rock or a stone. Anybody who has a heart would only want the best, not only for themselves but for their loved ones as well.
I can’t believe what I’m saying because if this comment was to come out last year, I would have actually agreed with the sports ministers comments. I don’t know what’s happening to me?
I could go on and on.. but I won’t? Reason is that its almost past my new bedtime of 10pm I’ve set for myself. Ever since I started to work, I’ve just enjoyed getting home and jumping in a nice warm bed.
Sleeping in a nice warm bed is just as pleasurable and enjoyable as making love to your wife or putting a Chelsea jersey and playing at Stamford Bridge.
I would trully enjoy it if someone could prove me wrong?

MAYSAM and friends
LISTEN TO THIS IDEA- C’MON BLUECHAMPIONS
Bluechampions:
Would’nt football be more brilliant and interesting to watch on a weekly-basis if FIFA was to put a salary cap on the amount of money a professional club was aloud to pay their players.
Say this amount was about 120.000 pounds per week.
Then all 20 Teams would have a chance of competeting for the Premiership instead of the manopoly the Top 4 seem to have on the Premiership.
Imagine Every club would have superstars:
1)John Terry playing for Derby County
2)Ronaldiniho playing for Totenham Hotspurs
3)Kaka playing for Bradford City!
Bluechampion:
1)You and the fans would never agree to this idea, right?
2)Why would a Chelsea supporter want to level the playin field?
3)This idea is way to futuristic for anyone to understand, but myself and fooball fans and the next generation..
ps: A true football supporter is a lover of the game and seeing that us fans have nothing to lose, cause were not watching to make a profit more for the sure pleasure of doing something with our spare time.

David Beckham
David Beckham is a joke and for some reason he gets paid the MOST REDICULOUS SALARY!
9. Michael Mariens
Bluechampions:
I’ve seen these people also take brilliant free-kicks:
1) Ronaldiniho
2) Stevie G
3) Thiery Henry
ps: there’s to much hype around England’s Beckham.

i love lampard
well well well,i agree with the minister that terry doesn’t deserve the money he is recieveing,he doesn’t even deserve a place in the first 11….i think he has dropped form and causes us alot of unnecessary goal….players like drogba,SWP,essien, lampard probably deserve what they recieve…but not terry or sheva…
