Chelsea vs Leicester City | 31-Oct-07 @ 19:45

Can lightning strike twice? Chelsea FC’s official website screen flashes these words along with the odds 40-1 of Chelsea doing another 6-0. That’s the problem of doing well. Now, we won’t be happy with a good 2-0 win over Leicester. We would want more.

Given the current form of Chelsea, this match should only be of academic importance. That’s being too rude to Leicester who eliminated Aston Villa in the previous round. Still, we’re in some kind of form. Avram has promised to make some changes and rotate the players. In the build-up to this match, Avram said something very interesting:

Our target is also to use young players not just in the Carling Cup but also in the league. They need to be good, and need to be talented. It is one of our targets and we are working at this very hard in the Academy. Game by game we will use more young players, especially in the Carling Cup, but they need to be good.

So, I could be Scott Sinclair and probably Kalou while Sheva would be in the bench. SWP and Malouda should start as well. In midfield, it can be Maka and Sidwell. The defence can be the same as it was in the last match with Carlo on goal. If Avram is keen on 4-3-3, he might play Kalou in place of SWP.

I have a strong feeling that we would play 4-3-3 only. Chelsea would and should continue from where they left against Man City. With confidence sky high, I don’t see why we should not bombard them right from the word go. We can’t expect Leicester to play an open game like Man City tried to do. Probably Leicester would play defensively and put men behind ball and hope for some miracle. I wish they play defensively as it would be interesting to see how we unlock such defences when they crowd their defensive zones.

I understand that the match is only on Chelsea TV. I just hope that the streaming video is watchable. Would try to update as much as possible. Here’s hoping for a high-scoring-clean-sheeter once again!

we will win with a big margin again. scott sinclair will score two goals. malouda will score too. if we score 2 goals in the first half, it could be another 6-0 for us.

WOW , hav i entered the wrong site or wat??
The house seems to hav been renovated , and looks so suave and professional now , really cool theme BC!!
And the top pic is the coolest , Joey Cole up there (and makes me remember those good ol days wen Crespo was here *sob*)
Anyways, things look to be heading in the right direction , great win t the weekend , some nice names being linked to us (Vaart, Huntelaar, Anelka etc), and some amazing football to look forward to!!!
Play Sinclair , Cudicini , SWP , Pizarro and Sidwell in start 11 for this game, i predict a nice and cosy 4-0 rout!!!

hi, not going to the game tonite sadly, anyone know where you can watch the game like online? I notice in the top article it says only on ‘Chelsea Tv’. Is there any places on the net that will be showing it?

Chelsea’s first team players can relax and rest after such a brilliant performance agaisnt Man City.

I’ve watched the Arsenal when they were unbeaten in that season and the way Arsenal played was that they had a rush defence, players were always attacking you rather than waiting for the opposition to come to them. Add a few hard, dangerous and tough tackles and Chelsea will have a game on their hands.

This is one route Leicester City might take?

I rather prefer waiting for the opposition to come to you and springing in the tackle at the right time, catching the defence whilst asleep and playin fair, like Wycombe last year and Coventry City this year etc.

Chelsea should and should’nt get to excited at playin a Championship team, reason being all they ever seem to do is defend, so I wouldn’t be dissapointed if Chelsea didn’t humble Leicester City.
