Some quick news roundup. Lampard talks about his priorities and why he needs Drogba on his side. Will Frankie be a Juventus player by summer? More and more key rival players going out of action. Read on!

Lampard has spoken to Daily Star about what is important to him and his career. He is very clear that this England ‘thing’ is not important to him when compared to Chelsea. It’s like music to my ears. I’ll wait for the day he retires from international football and devotes all his time to Chelsea.

The England thing is not important to me at the moment. What is important is playing well for Chelsea. When you’re playing well and on top of your game, you’ve got a feeling of confidence. Then there are times during the season when you feel like you can’t put a pass straight. I’ve dropped below the standards I want to set in the past. What player doesn’t. I have nothing to prove. The more experience you get in football, the more you realise that you don’t take notice of what someone wants to say about you isn’t involved in football or is just a fan.

Lampard also said why he wants Drogba to stay at Chelsea:

He’s the best, it’s as simple as that. There are different types of player – Wayne Rooney is a world-class player who comes off and creates and scores. As an out-and-out striker, there’s no-one better than Didier. His all-round game: pace, power, team player, scores goals with his head and his feet. He’s the best I’ve played with. He’s a great lad to have in the dressing room and always fights to the end. The way he’s played in the last 18 months, there’s no-one better in world football. It’s very important (to keep him) because players like Didier you want beside you. He makes his decisions but when he’s here playing for us, even with all the controversy that’s been around for the last week, his performances show what he is all about.

May be, this paragraph really sums up what Didier Drogba is all about. He’s the best and he’s different and he performs and he stuns. Wish both Drogba and Lampard stay with us. There are rumours that Lampard would be a Juventus player in May, should Juve make it to the champions league next season.

Some more interesting rumours. The agent of Villareal coach Pellegrini claims that he was contacted by Chelsea to find out about his client, at some point after JM’s exit. Also there are strong rumours about Chelsea’s winter bid on Gareth Barry. Both Mikel and Essien would be out in Jan for ACN. Ballack, Maka and Sidwell would be around but Avram might go for this versatile England international who’s really impressed in Euro 2008 qualifiers. And, SWP is reportedly an unhappy player now who’s made his stance very clear to Grant. It’s reported that his unhappiness is because that he’s not played enough. Strange! He must have been an unhappy player all through his Chelsea career then!

Injury news! Not that of Chelsea. We’ve had our share last season. We knew that van Persie was out. Now, the news is Torres is out for three weeks and Scholes out of three months. Pennant, Mascherano, Alonso are all out for many weeks. If Liverpool gets eliminated in the group stages, and these key players are missing for weeks, we could be seeing Rafa’s last season with Liverpool. The scousers have been believing that this is their season. They had all the money to spend, they bought good players and injuries cannot be an excuse in club football. Ask JM.

Okay now, I should consider that this new theme is a hit with an overwhelming majority finding this to be ‘great’. As you can see, this theme allows me to do various things (below paragraph will further testify) including the placement of ads.

Finally, some exciting blog news. If you scroll down in the home page, on the bottom left corner, you’d see a new section called ‘Blumigos‘, where I want to see your articles published.
