It seems like a freaking one-year long international break. Until the home match against Blackburn this weekend, we’ll have some more pointless, boring and hyped news, all due to the lack of real news. Something’s happening with Ballack – first the champions league exclusion and now the refusal for a photo shoot, Lampard is injured and won’t play against Russia this Wednesday and for all the Jose haters, some good news. Read on.
Let’s start with the good news (for less than 5% of players of BlueChampions) first. Roman would be an important spectator in the England vs Russia match this Wednesday and that means Guus Hiddink will be on London and obviously, be meeting Roman. Hiddink has a contract with the Russian federation until the end of Euro 2008 and this article from The Telegraph says that Roman will influence what he’d do after that. Being a shrewd seasonsed businessman that he is, Roman would not have offered an extension to Jose for nothing. Unless Jose dates with Roman’s wife or something, I guess he’d keep Jose.
Staying with the England vs Russia match, Lampard is out of this match due to an injury. Not sure if this would keep him out of the Blackburn match as well. We certainly need Lampard’s presence in the Chelsea midfield against a good Blackburn attack. Fingers crossed.
Ballack has started hitting the headlines, not much for the good reasons. Last week, he was ‘mysteriously’ excluded from the Champions League squad earlier and he is obviously disappointed with that. Rightfully so. No one (esp someone like Ballack) wants to see their name missing in the champions league squad. He says:
I am disappointed. But I have to accept it and focus on getting healthy again. Then I can make up my mind about other things. It has got better – but it is not like I could play again or train with the team. I can’t give a prognosis.
While Official Chelsea website has clarified that this decision was taken only because of injury reasons, they could not stop rumours floating around. The most common question is if Wayne Bridge can be named in the squad why not Ballack? But Bridge is supposed to be back in a couple of weeks while Ballack’s date of return is far beyond that he would be able to play the last of the group match or something. That’s as per the Chelse’s doctors and not the German doctors. If you got this line, you know the full story.
Now, there is another episode to the story where Chelsea has denied permission for Ballack’s photoshoot with German national team’s sponsors Adidas, who are also Chelsea’s sponsors. Chelsea seems to have denied this story, but I could not find anything on the official website. May be they thought this is very trivial and not worth the space.
If you didn’t know already, the women’s football world cup is on and here is something Ballack would be proud of. German ladies beat the Argentines 11-0 yesterday in the first match of this world cup. This tournament has 16 nations playing for glory, that includes Canada!! Surely men are from Mars and women are from Venus.
Maysam still leads the Blue Champions club fantasy football but for God’s sake Maysam, please change your team name! And finally, there are very few billionaire owners that are welcomed by the fans, such as ours. See you then.

Actually I don’t k now how i can change the name of my team , believe it or not , I did not choose liverpool.
I did not want to write any thing in this blog anymore , to be honest with you, I am looking for another Blog, with respect to persons who are responsible of this blog , I believe this blog suffers from lack of management.
one of my friends suggested me to build a website by myself but unfortunatly i am too busy and ASP2.0 hosting is not cheap here and I don’t like dealing with PHP ( at work is enough).
It is too soon for Roman to look for another manager.
there are many stories around chelsea players and chelsea staff which is not good and damage Chelsea.
Maysam!
Important correction – There is just one person (and not ‘persons’) who is responsible for running this blog – that’s me. You can call me the owner, designer, author and editor of this blog – all on my own despite having a busy day job. I’ve spent quite a lot of time and money on this blog. That’s what I’ve explained in the Intro page too.
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘lack of management’. If you’re referring to the comments section, have you happened to read the comments in arseblog and gunnerblog? You should give it a try. I can proudly say that, compared to other football blogs and the quality of comments, BlueChampions sits right at the top with few others.
As regards your own website, wish you lots of goodluck. You can always contact me for any kind of support, not on the technical side (where you’re an expert) but on anything else.
Oh well, that doesn’t mean you should not visit this blog anymore. I visit dozens of blogs (of various clubs) everyday despite having a blog of my own. Hope to see you around.
hey how long after you apply for the fantasy football can you start??
Hi Guys…
The club doctors at chelsea said ballack isnt fit enough…so he was excluded from the CL squad for the group stages…The press however has made such a big deal about it…Ballack shouldnt be sold..Hes a proven performer and can offer a lot to chelsea fc when fully fit and firing.
The international break has been really irritating…i’m just dying to see some chelsea action…
Hiddink is a great manager with a good track record..I read somewhere last year that roman is planning to get Hiddink To chelsea after euro 2008..Who knows..maybe just another story..
m not running from anybody!!!!!LOL!!!!
What a funny thought to even entertain , once again for ppl who really r……. all i hav said is that THOSE chelsea players WHOM Jose has BOUGHT r not really smart folks , and Jose PREFERS such players , them being african is a fact , so why r ppl jumping on a fact , calling an african , an african is a crime????? them being stupid AND africans is not my fault , just 2 facts which r not interrelated in any way!!!!!
If some retard goes on abt this after this coment , m not gona reply , its just gettin too irritating , everytime i cm to the blog ppl from all over hav posted only racism concerned arguments , hav u ppl forgotten???? this is a football blog , talk football , dont try to read into things that actually dont exist!!!!
Wen i hav stated a thousand times that i m not practising racism!!!!!
Oh and Samuel , being Chelsea players dosent give u the extra brains if u dont hav them , so stop repeating ‘how can u call Chelsea players stupid’!!!!
If someone is stupid he/she IS regardless of race , caste , creed , color , sex etc , now i hope this foolish topic is over!!!!
Lets get on with football!!!!
hey guys,
If I say “I am tired of stupid Chelsea fans”, does that mean that all Chelsea fans are stupid???
Just try to be a little bir smarter than you actually are, then everything will be ok.
oh and rgarding ur take on Real vs Villarreal BC, great temas make other teams look bad , dont forget this is the same team that went on such a long unbeaten run , finished 5 and broke Valencis at the Mestalla , such teams r not easy to defeat , u can hav 1 easy goal , 2 easy goals but 5 means there somebody really dangerous playing agnst u , mark my words Real or Barca will win the CL , though expect heavy competition from Milan and Inter , but the only team that can shudder applecarts from England wld be the scousers , though this time i expect them to be far busier in the league , but they r the only team from EPL who hav the squad and ability , as well as the smarts to win the CL ,again!!!!
Jose and Chelsea-boring-style haters,
don’t go at BC so fiercly.
Personally, I consider BC smart enough to understand that Jose Mourinho is not good enough for Chelsea. But as the owner and moderator of this blog he cannot be on any other side than Jose-lovers side. It is his mission to praise everything regarding CFC and he accomplishes his task successfully.
Guus Hiddink is miles and miles better than Jose Mourinho. Hope Roman brings him in very soon.
the anonymous comment was by me!!!!
it surely looks as Jose’s days r numbered , the reasons……….
1.he cant make us play beautiful football
2.He cant reatain creative players any longer
3.He cannot get the best out of GREAT players
4.He has lost the league and still looks far from convincing to get it this season
5.He cant win the CL
M_D @ 6,
I’m tired of stupid fans here
I’m tired of stupid Chelsea fans here
I’m tired of stupid Chelsea fans here from India
I’m tired of stupid Chelsea fans here from Calcutta
I’m tired of stupid Chelsea fans here from Calcutta calling themselves joeblue
Do you see a difference? Do you see a need for explanation?
If you still find this acceptable, then this is what I feel – I hate these glory hunting chelsea fans who could not even name 10 chelsea managers without looking up on the internet. Even I dont like Jose but I dont go around abusing and insulting him or the players.
Joeblue – You are stupid. Don’t mistake me. I said it because it was a fact. As you said, I just called a spade a spade.
M_D – Thankfully I’m lot smarter than you are.
Samuel,
I said “If I say “I am tired of stupid Chelsea fans”, does that mean that all Chelsea fans are stupid???”
Do you see the word “here” in what I wrote?
The point is you do not understand what joeblue said. He called “stupid” players brought by Jose and it is the fact that most of them are Africans. That does not mean that all African players are stupid. Eto’o, Zidane, Weah are all smart in footballing sense yet they are Africans too, they all are and were creative but not Essien, Drogba, Mikel and Kalou.
I feel sorry for you because you are the person who can answer to the question “How is it felt to be stupid and think that you are not?”
P.S: I am not Indian, I am from Europe.
Everyone has his own terminology while talking about footballers regardless of whether those termins are rude for others or not.
Joeblue calls “stupid” players who are not creative. Fair enough, that’s his right. If we divide players into stupid ones and smart ones then almost all Jose’s imports will go into “stupid” category, while creative players like Ronaldinho, Kaka, Ronaldo, Cr.Ronaldo, Zidane, Gerrard, Messi, Henry etc. will go to the “smart” category.
u can call anybody whatever u want samuel , u r a jerk , stupid , stupid , stupid , thats what everyone at home and around calls u , thats why it hurt u so bad , when i hav said the topic is closed and i hav not called africans stupid u still go on , why cuz u r stupid , u cant understand , anyways this is my last post to a stupid person , now before u start crying on being called stupid , and post 50 comments only on that , please remember this is a football blog , and ppl like U need to remain with their other stupid friends not with intelectual ppl , maybe i m not very smart , i never claim to be , but atleast i m never going to be a pathetic casre like u!!!!
Go get a life and let others hav one as wel!!!!
STUPID!!!!
i’m sorry that i thought you guys have brains. i’m asking you the basis on which you call the chelsea players stupid (forget about the whole african thing). you seem to avoid the whole topic instead of admitting you’re wrong. just tell me why you call them stupid.
if only kaka, ronnie, henry, messi are not stupid, then about 95% of the football players are stupid. is this what you mean. now you’ll run away and say that you’re ignoring me.
Samuel,
Yes, 95% of the players are STUPID IN COMPARISON TO Ronnies, Messies, Gerrards, Zidanes, Kakas, Maradonas, Peles. etc.
You understood that you were wrong in claiming that joeblue had wrote racist stuff and now changed the topic. Bravo.
guys
I dropped the racist allegations on you because i realised that it got nastier and nastier and it was a disgrace. that’s why i dropped it and not because of anything else. you got a funny logic. ronaldinho is a stupid player, because i compared him to Pele! lol! Now i’ve named and shamed your command of the english language and also your zero knowledge on football. mind your language henceforth.
on football this weekend, blackburn have a very good attack and i just we dont concede first and then chase them. i hope lampard is fit. i want to see more of joe cole. shaun is good but joe is better. paulo instead of belletti.i like sheva to start. 4-4-2 for me.
Samuel,
you are retarded moron.
Let me prove it.
What do your words “I just we don’t concede first” mean?
Go, learn English, then football and then come here.
Stupid!
i did not know this was a site 4 racist. joe blue learn english
smart is not creative
biatch
@Maysam
Please don’t go, I really find your comments to be quite good.
This is not just one of the best sports blogs on the internet, but one of the best blog’s period.
Please reconsider your thoughts on leaving.
@Michael M
Don’t run after people to come back. He’s a big boy now and he can make these decisions if he wants. If he wants to leave he can leave its just his loss.
But if you do come back tell me why your name on the blog is Maysam. Does the May in your name mean that you were born in May and does the Sam stand for Samuel. The reason why I want to know is because Maysam is a weird, freaky, little name.
Oh and Michael M you haven’t answered my question yet. Who do you think is the best player in Chelsea?
@Bluefan
I think that you are weird.
Please stop talking to me.
Thank You
@Michael M
I think you are weird. You run after boys. What are GAY or something. I just asked Maysam a question and I gave him a opinion on what I thought his name was. And you say I must stop talking to you, you the guy that asked me the question. So I asked you one back. If you don’t know the players for Chelsea I’ll tell you who they are and then you just pick one..

I’ll go with John Terry and Frank Lampard.
They are currently the blues best players.
@footballguy

@Michael M
Okay so thers your answer.
Wow! I’m so not impressed. I should have thought it would have been one of them.
Footballguy probably went to the lower blogs like “MANCHESTER UNITED”. And Michael stop running after boyz. Are you really gay?
@Michael M
Well Are you Really Gay?
@Michael M
Are you and footballguy ganna use teamwork to get rid of me like you used teamwork to get rid of Blue 07. I must say though he had made some pretty dumb emails like “Joe Cole could be as good as Ronaldhino”. We all know that that was pretty dumb but you guys madehim feel embaressed. Where is he on this blog. I haven’t heard from him yet. If you guys are ganna try and double team me I’m just ganna fight back. And if you ain’t down with that you can go to bed!!!
Bluefan

Where have you been?
What have you been up to?
I wanted to tell you that I’m sorry that I asked you to leave this site, this site isn’t the same without you.
footballguy I saw a Chelsea game the other day. We were playing Blackburn in our second season under the legend Mr. Mouriniho at home and we beat Blackburn 4-2.
I doubt you saw the match. Another 1-0 boring win?
ps: Anyway one last thing I want to tell you before I go back to bed, Chelsea tv had a lovely guest on the tele the other night.
He was a former blues manager. His comments on Chelsea first two seasons were that as soon as the blues got that first goal the other teams were terrified as they knew the game was over!
footballguy please comment on above?
Mon Ami’s
My knowledge of Chelsea is limited ( without the internet)
My grasp of football tactics is rudimentary at best
I have only been really into football for 4 years
I watch every Chelsea match at whatever dead of the night time it’s shown
I feel real hurt when when we lose, and have a mini-depression when we draw
I have a spring in my step when we win
I read everything written about CFC
I am a proud member of the bandwagon
I will make a pilgrimage to Stanford Bridge this year
I think Jose Mourinho is on of the best managers around and ” a “special one
I write stupid comments and ditties
I think I am a typical Roman Abrovamich era fan
What’s wrong about all that?

History lesson number one
John “Ian” Porterfield (11 February 1946 – 11 September 2007) was a professional footballer, and an experienced football coach who worked at both club and international level for almost 30 years. Up until his death, he was the coach of the Armenian national team. He has the distinction of being the very first manager to be sacked in the FA Premier League, when he was fired by Chelsea. He was also the last man to replace Alex Ferguson as a football manager (Aberdeen – 1986).
History lesson number two
Born in Dunfermline, Scotland, Porterfield started his career with Raith Rovers, moving south of the border in 1967 to join Sunderland where he experienced his finest moment as a player when he scored the winner at Wembley in the 1973 FA Cup Final. As underdogs, Sunderland defeated a Leeds Utd side containing experienced internationals such as Billy Bremner, Eddie Gray, Norman Hunter and Johnny Giles. He stayed at Sunderland for ten years before moving onto Sheffield Wednesday as first a player and the player-coach.
History lesson number three
Upon retirement as a player he went on to manage Rotherham United winning the Third Division Championship before joining Sheffield United on 6 June 1981. He was given the task of getting the Blades, newly relegated to the Fourth Division back into the First Division in five seasons with a long-term contract exceeding that particular time-frame.
Given funds by new Chairman, Reg Brearley, Porterfield strengthened the team and achieved step 1 of his mission, winning the Fourth Division Championship in his first season. Despite huge financial losses, Brearley continued to provide transfer funds for United’s march toward the top division. However, United were never in the hunt for promotion, finishing 11th.
The following season, the playing staff was cut and promotion was achieved, but only due to Hull City only beating Burnley F.C. 2-0. A third goal would have seen them promoted instead. However, ground improvement required by promotion to the Second Division meant there was no further funds for new players. Porterfield was unable to complete the final step into the First Division and finally paid the price being replaced by Billy McEwan on 27 March 1986.
He also managed Aberdeen (1986-88), was assistant manager at Chelsea (1988-89) and manager at Reading (1989-91) before returning to the top job at Chelsea (1991-93). After experiencing mixed success with British football clubs, he made the brave venture overseas to coach the national sides of Zambia, Saudi Arabia and Zimbabwe, all very much developing countries on the football map.
He was given the task of rebuilding the Zambian team following a tragic air crash in 1993 that claimed the lives of many of the nation’s most gifted players. However he was to resign before the rebuilding process was completed after becoming entangled in a row over money with the former Wimbledon and Aston Villa player John Fashanu.
In January 1996 he returned to British football to become the assistant manager of struggling Premier League team Bolton Wanderers. The club had been rooted to the bottom of the table for the most part of the season and Bolton’s new manager Colin Todd was looking to his former Sunderland team mate Porterfield to assist an unlikely escape from relegation.
A drink-driving charge in May 1996 prompted his hasty resignation from Bolton and he returned abroad to manage both the Oman and Trinidad & Tobago national teams.
In 2003 he was appointed as the manager of Korean club side Busan I’Park and he led them to the 2004 FA Cup victory. The team went on to claim the K-League first half title, as it simultaneously continued its unbeaten run through the group stage of the AFC Champions League.
Porterfield left Busan I’Park on April 4, 2006. He signed a contract to coach the Armenian national team in August 2006. He was diagnosed with cancer of the colon during the early part of 2007, and died on 11 on this very day footballguy.
@footballguy
I don’t support Chelsea with blind loyalty.
I’ve got a question for you!
I won’t ask you to predict a winner.
Thats impossible. So..
Who do you think has the best chance of winning the champions league and why?
@footballguy
Just remember.
Feel free to ask me anything you like at anytime.
Michael M
Cool man ! Thanks a lot for the in-depth info !
Cheers !
I really appreciate your job. And I have no plan to build my website , it is too much work for me, at least the one that I have in my mind.
Lack of management , I don’t mean comments. Fortunately I learnt a lot form other visitors and they all understand soccer, at least more than me. In a website, you as a designer, programmer or what ever should be able to track the visitors , I know it is easier to just come and post your message but trust me it is not a proper way. That’s what I mean from ‘lack of management’ . for example, I come to this blog and read a comment from X, I should know who he is, where he is from , how old he is, how long he supports Chelsea, if he watches soccer games or not, I don’t wanna say these questions are very important but I can evaluate his comments based on these questions, then I can discuss with him better. But now most of people just come and throw a comment and that’s it , that’s what I don’t like.
However , you are a busy guy and you did a great job. I will come and read your articles ( which i like the most ) but I won’t be active like I was before.
@Michael M : I am checking other blogs. thanks.
@Bluefan : well , this weird, freaky, little name is actually my first name : ) .
