I don’t think you can blame the referee with that penalty decision. If you look at the angle his was in it was hard for him to see what actually happened.

Did Frisk apologize chelsea , he sent off Drogba mistakenly .
ball was one meter in goal but Ref disallowed goal , did he apologize?
Liverpool ‘s goal in CL versus chelsea , did anybody apologize ?
making mistake is not odd but apologizing is very odd.

As an Arsenal supporter I really don’t see anything wrong with Styles’ decision to apologise. There are mistakes and then there are mistakes, and I don’t think there has been a refereeing decision as bad as this for two-three years. It’s not a matter of it being Liverpool or Chelsea it also comes down to the individual referee. There is no code that says referees SHOULD apologise, it is just down to whether or not they want to. Styles apologised, and I really don’t think it’s too big a deal. Every Chelsea supporter knows deep down that it was not a penalty and that they were lucky to get a result against Liverpool.

And whilst I agree with the theory behind this statement…

“It was scored with about 30 minutes to go if I’m right. If this penalty was not given, anything could have happened.”

…the fact is that Chelsea would probably have lost the match if it wasn’t given. That’s football, you guys should be harping on about it too much more.

Brilliant article about Lamps. Sometimes I get mad at the guy, it’s hard to remember how big a part of the success and team he’s been. It’s fantastic to see these players behind the scenes, that they’re just like us, not the strictly the superstars we form in our heads. Thanks for the link BC.

Sonko, Liverpool is a team with a great history. I think they’re a very good team, in my estimation second in the Premiership. But to say that Liverpool is a massive club and Chelsea isn’t is stupid. What makes you a bigger club? Two CL finals in three years? Big whoop, you got taken apart last time, and two years ago you shouldn’t have gotten to the finals, but for a FLUKE goal. So now you moan about a fluke penalty. Chelsea’s won everything in the league, and in the past four seasons we’ve had 83 points more than Liverpool. That’s 27 wins and 2 draws better. Larger team my ass.

the referee was right in apologising. he did that only to liverpool because, liverpool is a massive club unlike you johnny come latelies. that was a bad penalty for useless team. you guys must have lost by a margin, lucky pricks.
