Quick short post today. Not much Chelsea news around. Only that Maka has signed a contract, Styles has apologised (bloody hell!) to Liverpool for his penalty ‘error’, Daniel Alves does not rule out a move to Real Madrid and some other news. Read on.
Makelele has signed a one year extension of contract with Chelsea, which binds him until 2009. I’m kind of surprised at this. I thought he’s not going start matches anymore now that we have Essien (when he plays in midfield), Mikel, Diarra and Sidwell. That is too much of a competition for a man whose game is waning. While it’s good to have someone like Makelele on the bench for the European matches, I don’t see the benefit from Maka’s own point of view. For a player of his stature, not being able to start matches could be a downer. Anyway, he’s made a decision that he is staying with Chelsea. This can only be good news for us.
How ridiculous can this get? Rob Styles has apologised to Liverpool that his penalty decision in the Liverpool vs Chelsea match Sunday, was a mistake. I remember that Jose Mourinho had said in public that referees should also be interviewed and made to explain their very crucial match-defining decisions. Nobody read too much into that idea. Last season, blunder after blunder, no one ever apologised to Chelsea for the referee errors on penalties and red cards. When it’s Liverpool, Styles does not even wait for 24 hours to call Rafa to say sorry. Pathetic.
Did anyone apologise for not awarding the Tottenham goal in 04-05 against Man Utd, when the goalie cunningly collected the ball two feet beyond the goal line? Did anyone in La Liga apologise for the goal that Messi scored with his hand? Did anyone apologise for not awarding penalties at Old Trafford? I like the idea of referees apologising for their errors. not even to apologise, but just to admit they were wrong. But it should not be only for Liverpool. If it becomes a practice, then that’ll be fine.
And, to suggest that the match would have ended at 1-0 to Liverpool, if the penalty was not awarded, is plain naive and stupid. The penalty equaliser was not in the second half stoppage time. It was scored with about 30 minutes to go if I’m right. If this penalty was not given, anything could have happened. Five minutes later, if Drogba had managed to find the net, probably we could have nicked one more and could have finished 2-1. The bottomline is, I mean, anything could have happened.
Daniel Alves has finally uttered the words that you wouldn’t want him to say: Real Madrid. He says he doesn’t want lie about his Real Madrid interests. That’s fine but I’m sick of tracking players with so much hope only to see them ending up somewhere else: Pato, Drenthe, Anderson, Tevez etc. If it happens one more time, I’d be no better than an Arsenal fan. Finally, here is an interesting article on Lampard. I thought you should not miss this and hence the link.
Did you see who’s at No.11 in the Blue Champions Club fantasy league football? From relegation, I’ve improved into a mid-tabler. Just got rid off Ronaldo at the cost 20 transfer points. Hope it helps. I’m signing off then. Bye.

Well the penalty decision was made and its still a draw. And that’s that !
Plenty of times we didn’t get anything when our guys are manhandled. So its time we got one too
What is the devil wrong with having a player bowled over in the penalty area and a penalty given ?
What is the ref supposed to do ? give a yellow and a free Kick to Chelsea from inside the area ?
Kiss Finnan and applaude his roughness.
Anyway the liverpool back line is really physical and Finnan wasn’t giving Malouda tea and cupcakes there was he ? He was bashing into Malouda from the side . Anyways a penalty given on the spot was enough he could do for Celsea cos he didn’t let Drogs or any of our forwards play the whole game after that !
If FataRafa with his silly face-fur feels really bad about it he should join a nunnery !and plead to the Gods that be, that only his team be entitiled to play rough and always get softie penalties.
The man is a moaner groaner with a felt ferret on his face.
Actualy its verry funny read, that mr styles apologised.Looks like he give us penalty already knowing that he making mistake.
I remember few months ago, when gerrard say stop moaning about garcias ghost goal.Looks like now looserpool have “reason” moan. Its very funny.
I hope they be second in the legue with 2 points difference, hahaha.
I so hate looserpool, even arsenal for me better than pool.
Any news about Alves?
And sorry for english,im learning english only 5 months
Come on guys we all know we were lucky to get that penaltly malouda jumped into finnan!accept we were lucky
So are looserpool with garcias ghost goal. And garcia dont even try to jump on somebody. And this is not CL semi final. We still didnt get what we should get from that ghost goal.I dont care we lucky or not,i care about 1 point from anhield. They we lucky not to loose, because Terry have biggest chance in the match.Yhey should shut up about that penalty, moaning team
I don’t like the idea of apologies at all. Not to Liverpool, not to any team. The judgement of the ref at the instant he blows the whistle is part of the game. sometimes that turns out to be a good call, sometimes it is bad. Do we expect a player or manager to apologize every time he makes a hash of something? Does someone come to your place of employment and demand an apology every time you mess up? Probably not. Mistakes happen. Deal with it and move on.
Apology indeed! How can a fluke loterry winning team like like liverfluke ever deserve an apology? They ain’t seen nothing yet. What goes round comes around. All those freak chances that helped win penalty shoot outs against better teams like Chelsea and AC Milan will come back to haunt them. last Sunday was just the tip. I loathe anything REd. Blue is the Colour of Heaven. Its royalty- Its GOOOOOOD!

About his apologize , you said exactly what i wanted to say . That’s strange , less than 24 houts he apologized. no ref. does this.
Everyone can go to Real , no one can change this team but one man , Jose Mourinho . Robben
i think he and his greedy dad thought if he does not play for chelsea, chelsea won’t get good results anymore
but all chelsea fans and all chelsea staff frogot Robben very fast.
Maka : I know his plan , one year in chelsea then sweat good bye to chelsea fans , then one or 2 years in France and then good bye to soccer. nice plan.
Alvez : I would not die, if he did not come.
Real 3-5 Seville .
all players who leave chelsea for money or first team choice will destroy fast
now in Arsenal
he is wasting his quality in medcal department.
look at Duff , injury after injury , if he stayed in chelsea he would play more.
Gallas , injury after injury , he said I wanna play CD, i am wasting my quality in chelsea
Eduir : always on bench in new camp . when he left chelsea he said I like new camp . well now he can observe new camp very well on bench .
styles is a disgrace. i unno how he can apologise to team suddenly. does this mean he was error-free all his career and jumping up to apologise the moment his first error happens? ridiculous. he is a disgrace.
the referee was right in apologising. he did that only to liverpool because, liverpool is a massive club unlike you johnny come latelies. that was a bad penalty for useless team. you guys must have lost by a margin, lucky pricks.
To SONKO – are you feeling ok?looserpool massive club?hahaha, show me the money. That was good Lapmard penalty for better team,he just f… reina, its very nice to see Lampard rocket.your looserpool should loose at least 3-1,just very lucky coz Terry and Pizzaro misses they chances, looserpool dont even have real chance, exept BenHaim error.
So SONKO,looserpool small club supporter,go and tell to gerrard, finnan, reina, that you never ever win Premier. You are far,FAR away from Chelsea and even Manutd.Maybe pool play bets 30 min in they history on sunday, but thats all what you can.Unfortunately for you,Chelsea, the best team in England – can,and much better.Do you forget 4-1 result? You never ever do that against Chelsea.Even gerrard give ball to us for one goal. That was SUPPER.Again, last season against arsenal.Whats the result?6-2 hahaha, and 4-1 hahaha, and you call looserpool massive club?Forget. This season you not even be in top 4,spurs kick you from there. And yes, manutd much better than you, everybody know this.
Sonko, Liverpool is a team with a great history. I think they’re a very good team, in my estimation second in the Premiership. But to say that Liverpool is a massive club and Chelsea isn’t is stupid. What makes you a bigger club? Two CL finals in three years? Big whoop, you got taken apart last time, and two years ago you shouldn’t have gotten to the finals, but for a FLUKE goal. So now you moan about a fluke penalty. Chelsea’s won everything in the league, and in the past four seasons we’ve had 83 points more than Liverpool. That’s 27 wins and 2 draws better. Larger team my ass.
Get off this blog, your stupidity’s such a turnoff.
Brilliant article about Lamps. Sometimes I get mad at the guy, it’s hard to remember how big a part of the success and team he’s been. It’s fantastic to see these players behind the scenes, that they’re just like us, not the strictly the superstars we form in our heads. Thanks for the link BC.
Good news about Makalele. I want him to play already, though. And Joe Cole as well!
Sonko, I have heard that referees favour big clubs….LOL….
As an Arsenal supporter I really don’t see anything wrong with Styles’ decision to apologise. There are mistakes and then there are mistakes, and I don’t think there has been a refereeing decision as bad as this for two-three years. It’s not a matter of it being Liverpool or Chelsea it also comes down to the individual referee. There is no code that says referees SHOULD apologise, it is just down to whether or not they want to. Styles apologised, and I really don’t think it’s too big a deal. Every Chelsea supporter knows deep down that it was not a penalty and that they were lucky to get a result against Liverpool.
And whilst I agree with the theory behind this statement…
“It was scored with about 30 minutes to go if I’m right. If this penalty was not given, anything could have happened.”
…the fact is that Chelsea would probably have lost the match if it wasn’t given. That’s football, you guys should be harping on about it too much more.
Keep up the good work Blue Champion.
@ sonko : first of Liverpool was a big club , he is not right now . you can say :
1- Liverpool was a big club
2- Liverpool is gonna bie a big club.
Did Frisk apologize chelsea , he sent off Drogba mistakenly .
ball was one meter in goal but Ref disallowed goal , did he apologize?
Liverpool ‘s goal in CL versus chelsea , did anybody apologize ?
making mistake is not odd but apologizing is very odd.
I just read on the World Soccer site that Rafa is complaining about an “anti-Liverpool conspiracy” in the Primership. Gee, and people complained about Jose whining.
Sevilla turns down another Chelsea bid? what the heck are we doing negotiating further with them? come on Peter kenyon. stop the nonsense and forget about Alvez. Am so gutted. Roman should intervene to stop this crazy thing. The guy is not worth more than 17m. Not one penny more.
MourofEssien : I agree with you .
robben deal has been agreed with real
I don’t think you can blame the referee with that penalty decision. If you look at the angle his was in it was hard for him to see what actually happened.

yes Michael, exactly… but i see no reason why it wan’t a penalty
